At the end of each song, the volume comes Very High before transitioning to the next song? What cause that issue?

Two Gen 1s, for some reason the white one (L) is a lot quieter than the black one (R). No, its not the Balance control. Both are identical hardware revisions. Problem on all types of audio. My third Play:5, which I could use to figure out which one is “wrong”, is 2000 miles away.

Hi, I was considering the SONOS stands for the era 300 pair. However My ceiling is 10ft. Are these stands too tall? I currently have one sitting on a low surface and it sounds amazing. Getting a second.  Also it was recommended in their instructions to put it 8-10ft a part. I was originally hoping 4.5 ft guess this will be too short. Any advice? Should I go for the regular stands. Will I still have good immersion from Atmos Music?

When the speaker is charging a flashing white light appears, but as soon as the cable is unplugged the light goes off and nothing happens no matter how long the power button is held.I hadn't used the speaker for several years and charged it for many hours because of that, but it doesn't respond to anything - neither when charging nor without.

Let me start out by saying I think I have read every possible article related to choppy playback, wifi interference, losing speakers, and best practices. I have been fighting this issue for the better part of a year at this point. From a network standpoint, I have used a single Netgear router with built-in wifi, a Fortinet gateway controlling Fortinet APs, an Amplifi router with a mesh remote, a Deco 3 AP system with both wireless and wired backhaul, and finally I am now on Unifi, with the gateway, switch and wired APs. All have exhibited the same experience where grouping speakers together can take a long time or fail completely. When speakers are grouped, the choppiness happens consistently and most times ends up causing the entire system to stop playing altogether. Now that I am on full Unifi equipment, I have taken care to try to configure it both to Unifi’s best practices and to Sonos’ best practices with no luck. I have bought a Sonos Beam 2, and 2 ERA 100 speakers. I am not aiming for full surround sound per se, but 1 additional speaker in our kitchen (open plan with the living room - we can see TV form kitchen) and another at the back of the living room facing into the room from behind.Have tweaked the sound delay for the soundbar so it sounds more aligned and less delayed in the kitchen, still some level of reverb when too loud but it is a lot better.the sound sometimes drops from the ERAs (connected via wifi), I do have a wifi extender in the kitchen so wonder if my phone switching between the wifi network impacts this or if the speakers are only connected to the main wifi (i have not connected them to the extender - but maybe should consider that).

Why is the only option to adjust the volume control, on the app, is to drag the slider? It’s a cumbersome process and invariably over adjusts. Using airplay you can adjust the volume just by touching the speaker, making it easier to make small adjustments. Please can this be included on the Sonos app. 

My beam GEN one has stopped working. It doesn’t have any light or indication of power and will not reset.  

Since the app updates I cannot connect my Play5 gen 1 to either the S1 or SONOS app. I have a mixed system with older speakers and newer ARC and Sub woofer. The other speakers are in other rooms. The 5 is the only one that gets momentarily seen in the S1 app and it automaticallty switches to the 5GZ  SONOS app and doesnt appear there either.

I need to start completely over and wipe my current system. The instructions online offer steps, but those steps don’t align with what I see in my app. Does anyone have detailed instructions on how to do this. I’ve spent thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to get this product to work, and I’m so very frustrated. I need this systems to work given the resources I’ve put into it, so I need to start over and rebuild and hope that is the solution to ultimately making my system work. 

I noticed that when in the system name menu, clicking on SONOS at the top of the screen causes the system name to revert back to Your System. This does not happen when clicking the back button the top left corner. iOS 26.5 app version 85.0.31

I am trying to play my Sonos speaker but app continuously says I need to log in to update my connection. Even tho I am logged in

I have a new issue with a stereo pair of Sonos One SL speakers. Recently, green status lights have come on even they are toggled off in the app. They come on and stay on when sleep timer ends.  Toggling them on and off did not help. Power cyclubf did not help.  I talked with support and there was an update available. I ran it and then, maybe five minutes later.   The tech said if the issue persists to do a factory reset, which I thought Sonos no longer recommended.Then I put on music, set sleep timer, and green status lights came back on.  This seems like an update caused a problem. Anyone else having this problem? BR

Hello people,Thought I’d chime in with my recent experience after buying a second-hand Play:5 (Gen 1).For context, I’m running a full S2 system: Living Room: Arc Ultra, Sub (Gen 3), and 2x Era 100s Bedroom: Era 300 Dining Room: IKEA SYMFONISK Picture Frame + Connect S2 (vinyl player) I thought adding an extra speaker would give the dining room a bit more depth. Since I already own a Connect S2, getting the Play:5 Gen 1 via line-out seemed like the perfect budget option. What I didn’t know about was the infamous 75ms line-in delay.Fast forward to me being driven absolutely crazy by the echo while trying to group the IKEA speaker with my Connect (Play 5 Gen 1 line-in). Hi Sonos Gurus,I control my Sonos from my iPhone connected to SSID “17” mapped to VLAN 1 (Native Network).I have approximately 15 Sonos speakers incl. Play-1, One, Beam, Arc, Era.Some are wired to VLAN 6. Some are connected over Wifi SSID “Sonos-17” mapped to VLAN 6. I suspect some are still on SonosNet because they are old and SonosNet is on channel 11.For some reason, since this morning, I cannot access my Sonos setup using my iPhone connected to SSID “17”. Hi All,Looking for help about my issue about firmware update.I have several Play:1 and Play:5. 2 days ago, I moved a pair of 5s in another room. This is where the problem occured. Right after plugging in, one for the speakers in a pair asked for an update and disconnected from the pair. I tried updating, but the update always get an error 30. Here are the things I tried and used different devices in doing it just to isolate my phone or tablet. 1. Connected via ethernet - error 302. Wifi - error 303. Reboot my router and disabled all fw - error 304. Reset to factory the play:5 while using ethernet cable - error 305. Fresh Installed the play 5 in a new S1 environment system as a new room while directly connected to my router - error 306. Turned off all my other sonos speakers, used a new app and membered the play:5 in an existing system - error 30I have been trying to troubleshoot this for 2 days now. I did report thru Son

Hi.Latest update may 2026 I'm finding app a little slow and no hd badge showing on any of my speakers for some reason.Anybody had same issue as of latest update.I get 500mb speed and 51 upload so not a network issue.

Can I connect Sonos one to more recent Sonos speakers ?

Hello, my music will go in and out, sometimes with several minutes of nothing before playing again. How can I address this for smooth playback?  thank you. 

Do I need to use my phone to ask Era 100 with voice control to play a radio station or will the speaker itself respond to my voice?

Sonos and Sonos 1 system integration 

I have 2 Sonos One speakers (not Era 100) configured as surrounds for my Sonos Arc. They are mounted high on the wall, one above the full-height window and one (across the room) at the corner of the hallway and kitchen.As speakers, they are excellent. But when no music is playing, the one next to the window/wall sometimes makes a "pop" sound. It doesn't happen often, but maybe once or twice an hour. The other one never does this.My hypothesis is that the window shade next to the one that pops, has a big battery in it and that might build up some kind of inductive change, which the Sonos One discharged and it makes a popping sound. Is this possible? The observation is true my explanation may not be.

I have a Sonos era 300, I was using it via Bluetooth for the tv sound from the Apple TV, and it went off like it’d been disturbed, now all I get is a yellow flashing light, I’ve tried unplugging it for 30 second while holding the Bluetooth button, then plugged it back in, while holding the Bluetooth button, and still nothing but a yellow flashing light..
