We have 4 in-ceiling speakers and 2 Sonos Amps.  After connecting the surround speakers we are no longer receiving sound from the left and right front speakers.  I’m not sure where I went wrong.  Any help is appreciated!

Hello SONOS community,I have a BEAM Gen2 w/ S2 app, Sub Gen3, Apple TV 4K (first generation), and a Sharp LE832 42” TV.I have tried connecting the BEAM to the TV’s ARC and messed around with the TV’s audio settings.  At best, I can get Stereo PCM when connected in this way.  If I ‘force’ the ATV to use Dolby Digital 5.1 output, this configuration does not produce any sound.I have invested in an HDMI splitter and connection via digital optical out DOES give me Dolby Digital 5.1 (again, when forced from ATV).  For sure, a first world problem, but I would like to take advantage of ARC but I am beginning to think I am resigned to accept that my TV’s ARC does not carry a compatible Dolby signal.  I realize a simple solution would be to buy a new TV, but I am hoping to hold out a bit longer.I appreciate any observations/suggestions.Thank you.

After nearly a year of ownership on our Arc SL we’ve decided to get a new TV. I’m looking at the Vizio M65. According to their site, the display has HDMI 2.1, but according to some reviews its really only HDMI 2.0b or something like that. From a previous discussion I believe someone said that on HDMI 2.0 you can get Atmos but its only Dolby Digital Plus, not True HD, so its compressed. Is this true? Or will True HD Atmos play through eARC on HDMI 2.0? Also, I’ve read elsewhere that the Apple TV 4k (5th or current generation) will not support True HD Atmos, only compressed DD+, regardless of the HDMI connection. Is this true?

HiNew to Sonos and looking to get the Sonos Beam Gen 2 to go with my LG C1 and PS5. How would this connectivity work for sound? 1. LG C1 to Sonos Beam Gen 2 via the eArc HDMI 2 (port 2)? 2. PS5 to C1 via HDMI 2.1 (port 1)Simple as that? How about the atmos setup I see a few threads about trouble with this?Thanks in advance!

I have set up a new WD My Cloud Home Nas drive which is where all my music is stored.   I use MediaMonley to sync all my music and the Music is found fine on the My Cloud Home Music service I added to Sonos.  The problem  is there is No Playlist folder, I have M3U playlists but they don’t appear, in fact there is no folder.     This renders the drive useless to me and it was recommended for use with Sonos.  If you select to show  UPNP drives the mediamonkey music library appears fine, but you can only select and play individual tracks whether they are in an album or playlist - so that doesn’t work either!  If you want to avoid paying Amazon or google monthly subscriptions its all stacked against you!  I wanted to know if anyone has a solution or if it would work if I changed the WD My CLoud Home for a different Nas drive?

I have been using Sonos since 2010 and have four different players ZP90, ZP120, Play 1 and Playbar.  It runs, obviously, under Sonos 1. Over the years it has all worked very well indeed although the CR 200 control unit, which was miles ahead of the phone app that I now have to use, has stopped charging which is unfortunate but Sonos had abandoned this excellent piece of kit years ago, I suppose, because it was regarded as too costly when an app was no extra cost.I now have a problem that I am in the process of trying to solve.The problem is that at random or irregular intervals the Playbar (and only the Playbar), which is attached to the TV and set to play the TV sound, suddenly and without warning plays music. This can happen perhaps three or more times a day or it might not happen for several days.  It is always one particular recording from my Music Library (Apocalyptica plays Metallica, since you asked, something of an acquir­­ed taste and not greatly appreciated by the OH), althou

 Do you know why this pop up amazon add comes and makes it impossible to control the app?  

Sonos roam abroad! Set my Roam up in UK and no problem, I bought the roam after years of great use from my other Sonos products.took the Roam on holiday and Bluetooth worked fine on the first day. my phone logged onto the local network through Wi-Fi and then all the problems started with the roam. The Bluetooth stopped working and also the app stopped working and it wanted to update. Now I have a ‘brick’ carrying around with me as it wo t let me do anything. I have tried to reset and connect nothing?

Hi there :) Last year I upgraded from Beam to Arc, and I absolutely love it <3 However, this year I was thinking on either upgrading the system with the Subwoofer or buying a turntable and use it with the Arc...(which I’ve already seen it would be difficult/expensive and the best option would be going with Sonos Five) But, what if I can do both? Would it be possible, or a good choice, to buy 1 Five and….Use it as rear to the TV system - Would I be able to use Atmos still? Connect it to a turntable, I understand I could create a group with Arc to listen to music right?I know 2 Five would be the best, but maybe I can start with 1 and later add the second haha Thanks!!!!

HiMy setup is followsA Sonos Play:1 in room ‘Living Room’A Five (Gen 2) in Study (it used to be in the living room), I moved it in the app to Study.The problem is the Five keeps moving itself back into Living Room and renaming itself to ‘Living Room Sonos Five’ (in the software, not physically)This tends to happen within 48 hrs of me changing it to the correct name and room…. see screen shots from app.Any ideas what is going on?  

After researching systems I decided to purchase Sonos. I started with a Sonos One and have been very happy with it. And had planned on ultimately replacing my theatre system with Sonos. Not any more.  I purchased a pair of Roams in May with the intent on using them in a family room and outside around the pool. I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed in a purchase. The battery life is horrible even when not in use. I charged them three days ago, went to try them today, and they are down to 15%. Ridiculous! I have an older JBL speaker that cost half the price and perform better than the Roams. Why Sonos would develop a product that doesn’t easily integrate to their other products with such poor performance is beyond me.  I regret not sending them back within the 45 day return period. 

If you have Google Assistant, a Nest Doorbell with visitor announcements and Sonos Ones, Sonos One SLs, and Play:1s, will the announcements play on just the Ones or on the entire system? Can you stream content via Google Assistant to just the Ones or can it play on any speaker in the ayatem? 

Hello, I am reviewing/seeking a soundbar that has some synchronization control over the incoming signal. I would like to be able to connect, via RCA jacks, a line level audio-only source such as a guitar emulation device or an optical to RCA audio converter coming from a standard HDMI equipped television. I’ve noticed when I played around an earlier version of the Sonos One amp that there is a delay from the time I dplay a chord on electric guitar going through a digital amplifier line level out via RCA then through the Sonos and ultimately out the speakers, that there is a considerable delay. The other scenario is connecting 10 year old HDMI digital television and feeding the audio output (via optical) through an optical converter to RCA and into the Sonos that the same delay is noticed. Is there anything on the market today that has some audio delay adjustment perhaps in an app, to remediate this delay of the incoming component signal? Thank you

I have 2 roams, both set up and on the network, I have set up Google assistant on both, and for the most it works fine, that was until my wife tried to add the devices to her home app, she goes to voice assistant, clicks add devices and the 2 speakers show up. when she clicks next it throws an error and say they can’t be added, then enrolment failed.Any help or ideas would be good.

Is there a way to have Sonos One setup with Google Assistant recognize multipole voice match profiles?i.e. when you say “Hey Google, Who am I?” it can recognize more than 1 person?  I can’t figure out a way to setup more than one person with a Sonos One.  I can’t get Google Assistant to recognize the Sonos One when I try and directly add a device to Voicematch.  I can’t add more than one profile via the Sonos S2 app because the system only ever allows one user to be connected to it.

I am probably being stupid but two questions. Why when I add a song to the play next queue does it seem to add the entire play list? Second why if you clear the queue does it stop play the song that is playing at the time? this seems stupid to me, I have lost count of the times when we have been having a house party and the song that has been queued doesn’t play, I look at the queue and theirs loads stuff from playlists that I may have choose a sonf from.  When I clear it is stops the song I’m was playing and everyone boos lol.  any advice?

Hello, I’m currently in a boarding school and had to hard reset my Sonos roam, as it was not working properly. Now I have the problem, that I can't set up my roam, as I don't know the password to the wifi because I only got access to it by installing a profile on my iPhone. Do you know any ways to solve my problem?Thanks for help

Before I added the sub the bass on beam with SL rears was pretty good, since adding the sub aware that the low frequencies go to the sub but when you switch off the sub in the app would expect this to return as prior without but all it does is switch off the sub.  Is this normal or there an issue?

Our Google assitant on beam started saying “something went wrong try again in a few seconds” in the middle of the night around 4 am a couple weeks ago… it’s pretty random, it said it a couple time during the day too. I have closed the mic and removed the Google Assistant from my system but it kept saying it anyway 🤯. The only solution I have is to mute all my sono hardware before going to sleep but sometimes I forget 🤦🏼‍♀️. Is there a way to stop it or to make a routine to mute all speakers during the night?

Hi all,I just changed my old LG Led55UF8507 with a brand new LG Oled 65C1 and with great surprise I cannot get Dolby Digital from my Sonos Home Theater system anymore!I have a Playbar (connected to the TV via optical) + 2 Play1 + SubBasically I replicated exactly the same connection that I had on my old TV:HDMI1 port: SKY set top box HDMI2 (ARC): Apple TV 4KAlready checked on every device I have Dolby Digital as selected audio (same as on TV)For every source the only audio output I get from Sonos is “Stereo PCM”Think I tried everything so I hope you have any advice to solve this issueThanksBest regardsChris

Hello this past spring I told you about my recommendations for adding an equalizer. Since that time, I have not received any news from you or any updates to this effect regarding the potential addition of this one. Since we android smart phone users can in no way optimize and qualify our sound with your feature (only apple), adding ASAP an equalizer would be appropriate and respectable on your part to make it fair for all your customers. I have just plugged a Sonos One SL in, and it is detected as a Connect: Amp -__- Is there a way around this?I am using the S1 app on android.The Sonos One SL was not detected wirelessly, and when I plug it in using ethernet the incorrect detection occurs.

I purchased my brother a couple of Sonos One speakers the past 2 Christmas’. He has multiple Alexa devices. I setup everything for him with the Alexa being able to control music on the Sonos speakers. He is completely ignorant to technology so I have to check the systems when I go to his house. Yesterday I went there and his Garage Sonos One speaker was showing offline in the Alexa app but yet he had no issue asking Alexa to play music on the Sonos speaker itself.Now this is where my frustration comes in. This has happened multiple times and I have to go through either disabling the Alexa Sonos skill or removing the devices completely and doing a rediscover. It’s not that time consuming but it makes the system completely unreliable when I’m not there to fix it.  Nothing changes in his house but yet we have to go through this more than we should.Now I’m begging the Sonos support to please not respond with a canned response that ignores everything that I just wrote or doesn’t even apply
