Playbar: Loud bass rumbling from TV

I have an original Playbar (paired with a Sub Mini).  Unit is in good shape, and plays music brilliantly.  The problem is TV output delivers very loud rumbling from any reasonable amount of bass (sounds almost like the shelf is vibrating - it isn’t).  It's a new TV, output is optical, and output is set to PCM.  Any thoughts?

Sonos stuck playing Stereo PCM

I'm having an issue with getting 5.1 (always shows SPDIF Stereo PCM in Sonos app) to work despite having the following equipment:- Beam (gen 1)- Sub Mini- 2x Play 1s I use a nvidia shield for playing media, but unfortunately, my projector does not support audio passthrough or have eARC so I have used a hdmi switch that supports dolby/dts 5.1.I understand that (without replacing my projector or buying an audio extractor) my current set-up won't work for dolby digital or dolby atmos, but it should still support 5.1. Any tips to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Connecting a folder on a device attached to my mac running Monterey as my music folder

I’ve done everything I can think of to get my connected device to be my music folder and it comes back with “unable to connect”. I’ve moved files to where the Music folder on ny hard drive and I get nothing. One thing I noticed is my mac inserts Volumes in place of MacMini (my hard drive),

4.1 Sonos with rear hardwired ceiling speakers

First before we start, buying another amp is not in question.Current Setup:1x Amp 1x 3rd party Sub, FYI it does work in 4.1 2x 3rd party ceiling, 2x era 100.Problem is the front and back audio need to be swapped I can not find it in the mobile app. Anyone know how to get this working correctly.

Problem with trueplay

Hi, is anyone else having problems running Trueplay with a Sonos Arc Ultra together with a Sub (Gen 4)? When I run the Arc Ultra on its own, there’s no problem at all. But when I run them together, nothing works. I just get the message that there’s too much background noise — but the room is completely silent. (I’ve tested with several different devices.) Sometimes I get past that, but then it says “Trueplay can’t start”. Does anyone have a solution, or is this an issue with the latest version of the app?

I have 2 gen 1 play:5 speakers and am using the S1 app. I would love to add a turntable -- are there any reccomendations on anything that would be compatible and not require a ton of extra components? Thanks.

Unable to play Centreforce Radio

Why can I no longer play Centreforce Radio through TuneIn or Mytuner on my Sonos system.   I am based in the UK and I believe Centreforce Radio is registered in the UK.  It was fine up until two weeks ago.  I am able to airplay from my mobile TuneIn app.

Sonos play 1 not connecting to new mesh wifi network

Good afternoon all,I’m after some help/advice please, to enable my 2 Sonos play 1 speakers to work wirelessly on my new wifi network. I’ve followed numerous help articles online, but without success, hence this post.Situation:I’ve recently introduced a new mesh wifi system to my home to increase WiFi coverage. (this has included introducing a new mesh hub, which is plugged into the existing router via an ethernet cable)Challenge:Despite numerous steps (see below), I have been unable to get by play speakers to work on the new network wirelessly. FYI the speakers will work when connected via ethernet cable to the new mesh hub, but this is not a viable solution moving forward.Steps taken so far (following advice in the app and help articles):Removed the 2 speakers from the app (so that no products show in the Sonos app when it re-loads) Factory re-set the speakers (however they do not display a green light when powered - instead the light goes solid white after flashing white and orange)

Group Play 1 and era 100

I got a new era 100 to add to my system. Cannot seem to group together my current Play 1 and new era 100. I can group my five Gen 2 with the era 100, but it does not want to group with the Play 1.My Play 1 and five group fine.

Connecting a turntable and CD player to my Sonos system through Connect

I have an older turntable and 5 CD carousel I’d like to connect to my Sonos system. I bought an inexpensive preamp, and have connected the turntable to the preamp, and the preamp to the Sonos Connect box. I do get music on my system, but the quality of sound is distorted. When I connect the turntable directly to a powered, non-Sonos speaker, the quality of sound is very good.The preamp has a grounding screw, but the turntable does not. Any suggestions out there?

One speaker (and only one) goes unavailable several times per hour

I know this topic has been beaten to death, but in my digging I haven’t seen a scenario that seems to quite line up with this one.  Hoping it’s an easy fix. I have a bunch of Play:1’s and a a playbar littered around my house.   I have one single speaker in a kid’s room that I find goes ‘unavailable’ for a couple of minutes multiple times per hour.   (I note this in the log of my Home Assistant environment that Sonos is integrated into).  Actually playing things on the speaker works just fine.  The Sonos app works just fine.  But according to that log, the flipflopping to unavailable keeps happening.I don’t believe it’s an HA thing (beyond it maybe possibly timing out a bit faster than it should perhaps), because it is ONLY happening on this one speaker for the entire house.I recently switched from SonosNet to wifi-only in an attempt to combat this, but no avail.  When I was on SonosNet the speaker did show it wasn’t getting a great connection.  However since unplugging all the wires an

Google nest hub gen 2 sonos problems

When i say hey google play some music or a specific music, it says “Playing song name on sonos from spotify” but then it does nothing? It works completely fine from google assistant on my phone and from my google tv. But when i tell my google nest hub 2 it just says “Playing song name on sonos from spotify” without actually doing it?

Apple lossless drops on sonos amp

Apple lossless does not work on my Amp, it constantly drops or says not encoded properly.  Apple lossless works on all the other speakers without any drops, and if I group them, the amp stays silent.  Spotify works perfectly on the Amp.  I am using the S2 app when I play the music.  This started after the last update, no problems before then.Thanks for any advice.

Spotify plays 2 songs, then stops, maybe due to alarm

First this small entry from the ‘Spotify’ community for the background. I seem to not be the only one struggling with it: Spotify will play track A, continue to B.Then it stops, while showing it's still playing A, but at the end.If I hit 'Next' it will play B again.So, I have to hit 'Next' again to go to track C.It will play C, then D.And then it stops, showing it's still playing C.I have to again hit 'Next' twice to go to E. I have the above problem, and after a few weeks of non-interrupted music, it started again.And I think it has to do with Sonos alarms, or with a lack of proper communication between Sonos and Spotify. Below are:(A) for the Alarm Song,(X) for the song that was running before the alarm started, and(N1) for new song 1 and (N2) for new song 2. Sonos was playing an alarm song, (A).I launched Spotify (desktop).In Spotify, the playing alarm song (A) was not seen. Loss of SonosNet Functionality After Firmware Update 90.0-67171

Hello,Since updating my system to firmware version 90.0-67171, I've noticed a significant change in how my Sonos home theater setup behaves.Previously, I had the following configuration:Beam Gen 2 (Ethernet wired)Sub Mini2 × One SLs (used as surrounds)In this setup, the Beam served as the wired node, and all other speakers were connected via SonosNet (WM:0). This provided excellent stability and completely offloaded traffic from my main Wi-Fi network. The connection matrix showed full green mesh connections, and everything worked flawlessly.After the update:The Beam remains on WM:0The Sub Mini and One SLs are now on WM:3The connection matrix shows no mesh activityAll bonded speakers now appear to bypass SonosNet and instead rely on my regular Wi-FiThis has reduced visibility and performance control, and I’m now seeing increased Wi-Fi traffic through my primary access point, which defeats one of the main reasons I invested in Sonos in the first place.Is there a way to make SonosNet work

Unable to find radio stations I've added in Windows app

When I select Manage → Add Radio Station, I enter the radio station’s URL and give it a name.  I’ve done this several times and I cannot find the radio station afterwards!  I’ve read elsewhere that it should be in “My Radio Stations”.  Unable to find My Radio Stations.  Also unable to find radio stations after adding by searching.  I just added one and gave it a unique name AAAAA, and still cannot find it!Where are these radio stations?

Noise cancelling

Im considering adding the Sonos noise cancelling headphones to my setup - mostly for me to listen to music but there are times when I want to watch TV and my wife doesnt want to listen !Can the headphones be used just in noise cancelling mode ? So no music - just nice and quiet ?

audible chapter selection not working

When using the Sonos app connected to audible there is a chapter selection screen that allows you to choose any chapter in the book. Unfortunately, when you click the play button next to a chapter, it appears to work but then playback just continues from wherever you were last listening.  This is incredibly frustrating when you want to listen to a book again. If it's a 30 chapter book and you were last on chapter 15 then you have no way of restarting the book apart from either pressing previous chapter 15 times, or pressing next chapter 15 times and then fast forwarding to the end of the last chapter. Even this would be ok if chapter selection was quick, but if you press back 15 times then it will go back one chapter at a time, play a tiny bit of a chapter and then skip back another chapter. Obviously you're going to get impatient doing this, so you end up pressing back 20 times, this then gets you to the first chapter eventually and then carries on restarting chapter 1 another 5 times

sonos connections

I keep on getting an error message looking for network every time I log on to SonosI have upgraded all my Sonos speakers to 300 and 100s I am running are  a ubiquiti System from a virgin media set in mode mode running through my own router through a POE switch then to my 3 APU all the speakers are Wi-Fi  the message reads your system cannot be found on network update network  So then you’ve got to keep on repeating and putting in the speakers very annoying  so please can someone help me if you have had this problem yourself?

App Feature Request: Add “Force Music Mode” Option for TV Audio Sources

Feel the need to reopen this! Was marked as closed, but I can’t accept that this is not getting the attention it needs. It’s a simple software tweak, and should be easily added through a firmware and software update. In 2025 we love having a GUI while operating our music players, so playing music through TV is absolutely relevant. For sonos to be hardcoded to TV-mode, when source is Line (hdmi), thats just unacceptable for this pricy peace of hardware!Hope you take note of this feature request, and take it seriously this time.link to previous request:
