Is Tidal better sound quality via Play 1 and 3, playbar and sub than Spotify Premium? If so, how significant is the difference in quality?

Suddenly the SONOS S2 app on MAC OS Sequoia 15.7.3 when it starts it spends 5 - 6 seconds searching for the sonos network. Then announces my Firewall settings need changing. Funny as the firewall is turned off on this particular laptop. Anyway it eventually gets past this and then announces the app needs an update. Hit the search for updates button, funny as there are no updates. What the hell is going on with this piece of junk? Maybe unrelated but when playing across multiple devices, some devices go quiet for upto a minute then continues. No indication of issues and at least one device continues playing without issue.  

I use "Alexa" and my Beam 2 repeats the instruction eg "playing BBC Radio 2" but then it is silent.  I have reconnected to my wifi, reloaded my music services and the sound works fine for the tv. What more do I need to do?

Sonos system with Bridge, Play 3 and Play 5 1st gen. Play 3 can play music library on NAS, if I group Play 3 and Play 5 they can play music library on NAS, but Play 5 on its own gets the message “unable to access….” I’ve done a factory reset of the 5 and reconnected to the network, but still get the same problem.

Hi - I must be missing something, because it’s not even possible that one can’t simply save an existing queue as a playlist!  Right?  So somebody please tell me what I’m missing, must be in front of my face, no? Thanks.

The goal is that when someone accesses the menu on their device, they can stream these audio snippets directly to their Sonos speakers.So far, I’ve tried embedding standard MP3 and AAC audio files using HTML5 audio tags, and even experimented with third-party streaming APIs, but I’m running into several issues: Device Detection: The website doesn’t reliably detect Sonos speakers on the same network. My setup has Arc, Sub Gen3, Two Era 100’s, Two Era 300’s  I have an older Arc and a pair of Era 300’s set to the side of the soundbar but I have been getting that annoying pop or crack sound as I’m watching any content. I  have tried a number of things:I have set them as a stereo pair and still that does not work. Popping happens. Reset the speakers. Set them as a separate set and they still pop.  I have restarted my home network and added them back in and nothing is working. Has anyone gone through this or found a solution. Initially the Soundbar and Era’s were all popping but now just the Era 300’s are doing that after I was sent replacements for the soundbar and Era300’s. I’m at my wits end and so angry since these speakers don’t come cheap. 

Setting up my arc ultra sub and 2x300 era.Do they all need to be put in the same room?

At one point our whole system played just fine, 2 AMPS, Port, 2 One, 3 ONE SL. Recently our outside speakers (thirds party) which are connected to the AMPs have stopped working. The app shows everything playing, the amps and port both have a solid white light. Ive tried resetting the amps, making new groups, unplugging and replugging, unplugging the amp and plugging it back in, etc. The only thing I havend done is factory reset the amps or trying to use the join button. I dont believe I should have to since everything is showing up in the sonos apps. I hoping for other things to try before we escalate to seeking outside help to check the wiring from the server room to the outdoor speakers. The only changes we have had lately are upgrading our firewall device as well as unplugging the port device during a server room upgrades. 

I have an External SSD drive connected to my Del Windows 11 laptop, and would like to share the drive to my sonos system. I have tried the solution that one of the members solved, however still at an dead end. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks old analog head.  

I open the app on Windows desktop. It says:“We need to get Sonos running on the latest software. Choose Check for Updates to get started.”I click Check For Updates. It says:“No update required. Your Sonos system is up to date.”I click Done.But then it goes back to “We need to get Sonos running on the latest software.”I click More Options. I click “Continue using the Sonos App.”It says “Some of your products aren’t registered to your Sonos account. Let’s register them now so you can use them.”I click Register Your Products. I have to sign in, I do.It says “No update required. Your Sonos system is up to date.”I click Done.I’m back at “Some of your products aren’t registered...” Now there isn’t any option to continue. Ok, so it’s stuck in a loop here. I close the app. I open the app again. It takes a minute, but it opens normally. Mind you, the system was playing music the whole time. This is only affecting the app. The kicker? Been enjoying Sonos for years with only minor issues.  After moving speakers, I’ve been unable to reconnect to WiFi.  I’ve tried unplugging my Network Acces Hub (modem/ router) and all Sonos products, then reconnecting in proper order – no luck.  Factory resets on all products – no luck.Connecting Play 5 (Gen. 2) with an Ethernet cable has succeeded, but when I disconnect the cable the speaker disappears.  Attempts to enter my correct wireless code, result in an “unable to connect” error.  I’ve succeeded in connecting Era 100 but when I play a song, the icon continually spins…no song being played.My gut tells me it’s a WiFi/ Network problem, but nothing has changed and it’s worked fine in the past.

I have a Sonos Beam 2 and Ace Headphones.I have set up the headphones for audio swap and it works fine whether through the app or via the swap audio button on the headset.The problem I have is when trying to set up TrueCinema. I get it started and the Beam 2 emits the sounds so it can do it’s spatial awareness set up. I then get the spinning circle on my phone that just goes on and on and doesn’t end.I have tried numerous “fixes” from Google etc.Reset and re configured my Beam and Headphones plus reloaded the app after rebooting my phone.Also switched everything off (including my Router) and started from scratch to no avail.I have tried it with TV output on, Phone bluetooth on (with Ace paired and without but still keep getting the circle and “wait” message

My Sonos Beam connects to the TV starts playing then drops. I have tried everything I can do. Still not working. I disconnected and connected it again, but it keeps dropping. 

Hello. I have just bought a new TV (Hisense 50E7QTUK). I have followed the instructions, I believe carefully, to set up the new remote. Obviously, I have connected it using the optical connection. When I get to the point during setup to press UpVolume, I get the usual attached error message.Now, here’s the odd thing. If I try with Bluetooth switched on for the TV/Remote comms, the message appears after some seconds (ie, times out, expected behaviour). If I switch Bluetooth off (as recommended on many forums) so that my remote is purely IR, the same error message appears straight away. I have also tried an old, IR only control. I have also factory reset my Soundbar. The remote batteries are fresh and there is clear line of sight.What’s next please? 

hello, there is conflcting information online that sonos beam 1st gen is compatible to the latest SONOS APP, the black icon they call S2 - does anyone have the 1st gen Beam working on the latest Sonos App? any comments appreciated - thanks PS i do have a mixture of early sonos products and the new ones Arc Ultra / FIVE and trying to connect the Beam to this network

Hello,I bought an Era 300 for my office intending to connect my desktop using Bluetooth. When connected it works great. However, waking up the computer and getting the Era to play sound is a nightmare every day.Sometimes it will start if I start an app like YouTube TV. It will never start if my first app is Teams in meeting. Sometimes it won't start unless I reboot the machine. I have had to completely reset the bluetooth connection.I am ordering a line in cable in hopes this will resolve this issue, but this connector looks super short. What cable do I need to buy from my desktop -> connector to reach the computer?Thank you,-Rebecca

Recently I bought a Sonos move because I wanted to be able to group it to my Sonos Beam audio and have separate audio control. Every time I group it to the beam the audio on the move cuts out every ten seconds on the dot. I thought maybe it was the speaker so I got an Era 100 instead. It only does it on tv audio and not music sources from my phone. I’ve tried factory resetting both the beam and the era 100, changing different audio output settings on my tv to bitstream, pcm, changing audio to compressed in the Sonos app, rebooted the router which sits about 10 feet away from the speakers. Adjusting the group audio delay fixes it but then there’s an obvious delay to the era 100 which defeats the point of grouping them. If anyone has any guidance or run into this issue I’ve tried everything I have been able to find how to fix this. 

If I listen to music during the day and use all my Sonos products including the arc ultra everything is fine. Later in the day or evening I turn on the TV connected to the arc ultra, all the speakers play the TV sound but all the speakers in the house seem to be 10 times louder than the arc ultra,  it’s a very unpleasant experience for my ears. Is there a way to set Sonos not to use the other speakers when I turn on the tv? Otherwise I have to go in the Sonos app and configure it properly before turning on the tv, kind of defeats the convenience of having the soaps system.

My Sonos Move has a steady green light. It will not connect to Wi-Fi and does not show up on Bluetooth Seems I have done a reset to no avail. Any suggestions would be very helpful 

I’ve received a replacement for my malfunctioning Beam Gen2 (same model replacement). I have 2x One SL’s on my current WiFi/System.  setting up the replacement Beam went fine through the app. At the end the app said to power cycle if I didn’t see the device on my app. I’ve power cycled the Beam and my router several times. Still nothing in the app. I double checked to make sure the One SL’s are working on the same network. They are paired as a stereo set and working fine so I doubt this is a wireless network issue. 

I have been told by Sonos support that my Play 1s are no longer compatible with my Sonos system and are therefore defunct.  They offered me 30% off new ones. I am finding this very hard to accept. Anyone else had the same issue?

Hi all,I’m hoping for some advice after an S1 - S2 migration has gone wrong.I bought an Era 300 and a Port today. I also had two legacy S1 devices (Connect + Play:5 Gen 1), which I removed and factory-reset using the S1 app. I couldn’t upgrade my existing system to S2 as it said my remaining devices could only be S1 compatible, so Sonos Support advised a full manual reset of my remaining 4 speakers and rebuild.After rebuilding: Play:1 and Play:3 added fine Era 300, Port, and two older speakers, another Play 1 and One completed setup and updates, but failed at the final step and show as unregistered in the app and couldn’t be added to my Sonos account Things I’ve tried: Router reboot Ethernet connection during setup for those devices that have them Power cycling all devices Restarting iPhone/iPad Reinstalling / restarting the app Has anyone seen this before, or know what blocks registration when setup itself completes? Hello all. New to the Sonos ecosystem and an having this issue as described by a previous post. The post was locked with. I solution being provided and I have searched far and wide for a solution. All of my Sonos speakers, no matter the room they are in, will go into a “perma-mute” showing a solid green light. Only way to unmute is to physically touch the volume on the speaker or to go into the app and tap the unmute button. Please help!
