Question

Play1 speakers (set up as a stereo pair) constantly disconnect.

Hello.  I have a pair of Play1 speakers set up as a stereo pair in our kitchen and the speakers keep on disconnecting.  I have to unplug the speakers, wait about 10 seconds, and plug the speakers back in.  The NEEDS ATTENTION and NOT CONNECTED disappear after a few moments and the sound returns until the speakers disconnect again.  I also have a pair of Era100 speakers and they don’t have this issue.  I have tried everything as recommended in the troubleshooting articles but nothing seems to work.    We have an ARC SL in the family room which is next to the kitchen.

I also have a Netgear extender in our home.  The extender is at least 30 feet away from the Play1s.  I have read in the articles that an extender could cause the connection issues.  Could this be the case?

I hope all the foregoing makes sense.  Thank you very much for your assistance!  I have been a Sonos customer for a long time and I am very satisfied with the products in our home for a long time.

That certainly suggests some sort of wifi interference , and all the Sonos articles seem to suggest that extenders are not good.

I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Extenders have caused so many problems Sonos won't even discuss them.

Are you sure it is an extender and not a mesh node? Huge difference.

If you tried all the solutions on the support site remove any extenders, not mesh nodes, wait for the issue and submit a diagnostic. Once submitted call support when you can.

@hilltopper1999

You could try to set the Play1s on a blacklist if the software supports this for your repeater.
Another solution could be to set up different SSIDs for router and repeater and only add the router SSID to your Sonos System.
