Stupidly I decided to get rid of the annoying update icon in the Sonos app. The result is a broken home theatre setup. After spending a whole day of reading support and trying every possible scenario to get my setup working again the only noise coming from my sonos is silence. Does sonos do buy backs? I would like to add my frustrations with the other community members here. Sonos have broken my trust after singing nothing but praise about the simplicity of the setup and quality. 31 October 2018 is my deadline for a software update, after that I am going to rubbish sonos in every shape and from known to the internet world.

I have a Sonos Beam connected to a Sony X930E TV and my only source of content is an Apple TV 4k also attached to the TV. Using stereo paired HomePods connected to the ATV by Airplay 2 I can start and stop content, raise volume etc. With Alexa on the Beam I can control volume and turn the tv off and on but don't seem to be able to stop or start the Apple TV from playing. Is this normal?

Hi beam is set up and works great,but when i mirror my phone to tv and watch youtube videos no sound comes out of the beam i have to switch to tv speaker .i am connected through hdmi arc,am i doing something wrong or does it just not support this feature.Thanks Paul.

I've just added a turntable to the system. Through one zone, no problem. Through two, three, or four zones; dropouts to point that it's unlistenable. I tried the "fix" of changing the compression to compressed. That didn't help. The Sonos stream is compressed enough when playing services like Spotify. Part of the reason I got a turntable was to bring back the deep, full sound of vinyl. I will tried switching the input to the AirPlay device instead, because I read that it buffers more. That helped some, but did not solve the drop out issue. Set it to uncompressed and AirPlay. Actually, when it does cut out, it cuts out on every device except the Connect that the turntable is directly plugged into. My setup at the the turntable is; Turntable Preamp Line out, Connect line in, Connect Line out to Amp for that zone. Wireless to the Connect Amp in the closet. I can hardwire a CAT5 to the Sonos network instead of wirelessly connecting if that will help. I need to call and submit a diag

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong here (probably :D), but am struggling splitting a stereo pair. I have a Sonos Play 3, and 3 x Sonos Play 1. A few years ago I set up a stereo pair in the Lounge with 2 x Play 1's, however, having just moved house, the Room Settings in the Windows App and Android App do not seem to allow me to play with this configuration anymore. Would rather have speakers in different rooms rather than a stereo pair now. Any help greatly appreciated.

I open the Sonos app It asks me to add a speaker I press the plus icon to add speaker I see a screen asking me to update the app I press update (despite my app being 9.2 - latest version) It opens the App Store, shows Sonos app I can’t see any option to ‘update’ I press open Same thing happens Asks me to add a speaker, Before I can do that I must update... Urgh. Help. I’ve deleted the Sonus app and reinstalled it from the App Store. Still does the same thing. Is this a know bug in 9.2?

Upgraded to v8 on my iPhone and for the life of me cannot figure out how to switch the playbar back to the tv audio music source after playing music on the playbar? This was extremely easy on older version but not do not even see the option for TV audio? Suggestions? The TV music source is on the upgraded controller on the Mac but cannot locate on the phone app.

Can I have my tv in great room play on my kitchen ceiling speakers. We are doing new construction so wiring options are open. We plan to have several Sonos zones with connect amps but would like to be able to hear tv in kitchen when prepping food and not have tv volume maxed. Thanks

Simple question: Are there any tv-sets that will transcode all audio to Dolby Digital? I have several Sonos 5.1 systems throughout my household, including a Playbar, a Playbase, a Playbeam plus sub and surround-speakers. I have a Samsung BD Player that transcode any audio to DD 5.1 and my Apple TV does the same which generally my issues with DTS and Dolby Digital Plus on these systems. However, my Chromecast can't do the same trick - meaning that I only get stereo on Netflix via the Chromecast - and in the future I might have the same issue with other devices and other audioformats not being supported. My Xbox One has an HDMI-input and can also transcode to DD 5.1. So by plugging in a Chromecast to the Xbox One I am actually able to get DD 5.1 via Netflix. Unfortunately, having the Xbox running to passthrough the Chromecast-signal is not an elegant solution. I took one of my Sonos One speakers to my vacation home. It really is not easy to change networks temporarily. I got it to work (using ethernet cable setup then setting to new network) but when I returned home I have not been able to get it reset to my home network. I got it to work briefly but now I it will not show up on my app no matter what I try. I'm about to try a factory reset. I did get it to connect by plugging in an ethernet cable, but when I disconnect the ethernet, the connection is lost. Now the controller can't connect thinking it is on a different network which did not change since it was Ethernet was unplugged. I have gone through the numerous procedure suggested. Now my two phones and computer can't connect to Sonos. I sent in a Diagnostic report The discussions are not clear about what exactly is the risk in doing a factory reset, just that it is not a good idea. If a set is done are all setting for all speakers affected, or just setting on the reset speaker?

I have a large iTunes library that I like to play through Sonos. I have recently gone through my iTunes Library and deleted several playlists that I no longer listen to. However, when I sync my iTunes library with sonos, these deleted playlists are still showing up in my imported playlist within the Sonos controller app. Why are they not being removed and how do I remove them?

Had network changed. Get successfully through all steps of standard set up, but after disconnecting the Ethernet cable, get the same message every time: “cannot connect to Sonos Player”. How to solve?

Sonos media controls worked great on my Wear OS 1.x device but it was recently upgraded to Wear OS 2.0 and it looks like the Sonos app no longer triggers media controls on the device. So it looks like notifications worked out of the box with Wear OS 1.x but not in Wear OS 2.x Does anyone have the notification working on a Wear OS 2.0 device?

I am looking to install a 5.1 sonos system with Sonos Sound bar sub and play one. I intend to use 2 ceiling speakers for rears. What equipment is required? What is required for the 2 play one speakers. This is a new construction home so getting power or cat 5 to tv will be easy. I plan to use connect amps to power other in ceiling zones. Thanks

I’ve had a Sonos play 1 for 20 months. First year and a half it worked great. Recently it keeps dropping out despite it and router not having their locations moved. Driving me mad. Looked at forums but I’m not that tech savvy and just want to enjoy music. Finally yesterday I think I got it working ok. This morning I received a suggestion to upgrade App. Haven’t done it. How do I block these suggested updates? Simple explanation please.

I recently moved to an apartment (rent) that came with a Sonos system as part of the deal. Coming from another country (I live in US now), Its the first time that I hear and interact with a Sonos system, and I liked it. Well, the apartment that I moved has two speakers in the ceiling (they are mounted on the wall, but close to the ceiling) wired through the walls to a Connect:Amp, that is located inside a box in my closet (where my main internet cable is wired too). They are mounted in the living room, and bc of the layout, the TV needs to be placed at the same wall where they are, between them. My idea was to use this existing Sonos system and connect it to the TV somehow for movies and also music (Im used to cast to my TV stuff from Spotify, YouTube, etc.). After reading about Sonos, I realized that the only way to connect Connect:Amp to my TV would be by using a soundbar (playbar/beam/playbase) in a boost mode and use the connect:amp as surround speakers and maybe changing

I have been using Sonos for many years. I have the basic system on a PC I have been using new Sonos speakers. My old controller is no longer supported. After house alterations I want to bring some of my older components back into service and extend the system. It appears that I have to do everything through the app on my iPhone. I set that up recently and it was working OK, but it will not let me sign in to change my system. So far as I can see, it appears to have linked itself to an email address which is different from the one I used when I set up the system years ago and no matter what I do (re-setting the password, re-installing the app and so on) I cannot sign in. The result is that I cannot even use the modern speakers I had been using until this morning. The app on my PC will not respond until I sign in. It is Catch 22. Can anyone suggest how I get out of this?

We originally purchased two Sonos1 units for our house. We also purchased the Sonos Boost. They worked great. Then we added two more as fill all around the house. Everything was fine until about 2 months ago and I noticed that they were not playing a whole song every once in a while. We just purchased two more, so now we have 6 total, and the problem is still the same. Sometimes it skips very frequently. We have taken them all off line and readded them as individual names and units. We checked Wifi and everything is in order. What could be the problem. Oh. And we are running these off of our iPhoneX. If that would make a difference. This is really getting Annoying as we have spent well over $1000 for these units and now Im not happy with these at all.

Hi! I searched on the community but the answers are not very clear to me. So I've the following case; I already owned a Sonos Connect AMP but today I bought a new receiver - NAD T 758V3. In the attachment the backside of the NAD. My question is: Is it possible to use the Connect AMP with the NAD? If yes which of the Sonos Connect AMP connections I need to use with the NAD?! :D
