I opted to replace my ZP80 that I feel like I’ve had forever and take advantage of the 30% off deal. Pretty simple configuration: The ZP80 was connected to my Denon AVR 4306 via the digital optical connector. I only used it to stream audio from SONOS to my Golden Ear speakers. So out with the ZP80, in with the Port, digital coax out to the Denon, retraining myself on assigning inputs on the Denon. It sounds awesome, me thinking there’s a definite difference in quality from the ZP80 set up. But I wonder….is that my $ rationalizing? Would analog out from the Port be a better option? Having gone full-on streaming long ago, the only other input into the Denon is a Blue-ray player so, unless I wanted multi-room FM audio, I can’t think of another use for the Port at this point. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

So I took SONOS up on their 30% off upgrade offer, bricked 4 devices and added two Beams and 4 more SONOS One 2nd Gen speakers.  I already had 2 SONOS One 1st Gen speakers.  Now Alexa won’t play Pandora upon request.  I ask, “Alexa, play Enya radio on Pandora” and I get the response “Enya radio on Pandora”.  But nothing happens.  I discovered if I state immediately after the response, “Alexa, play” then the music will actually start playing.  Yes, it’s a work around, but still annoying since the system worked perfectly before my expensive upgrade to the latest technology to make SONOS happy.  I’ve deleted the Pandora skill and re-added it … restarted everything … nothing helps.

Just purchased new laptop with Catalina iOS and App Store did not have Sonos App. Where can I find it? Is is findable or has Apple removed Sonos App?

Now that Sonos have announced that their products have an end-of-life (EOL), sometimes in as little as 5 years from purchase, can they please clarify their expected EOL projections for all products? Classifying them as “modern” or “legacy” does not help and is far too simplistic. Products can move status overnight without warning. It would be useful to know that a Sonos product bought today for several hundred pounds is expected to be viable for, say, 5yrs. If Sonos wishes to be a software company, they will need to embrace a more mature approach to this issue, and offer an SLA within each product sale to set customer expectations. For example, the Windows 10 support life-cycle has a five-year mainstream support phase that began on July 29, 2015, and a second five-year extended support phase that begins in 2020 and extends until October 2025. Microsoft manages this level of expectation management and costs a fraction of the cost of a home speaker system. 

Really struggling now….  spent hours going the forums and comments but I’m still no further on… got an original play1 blue and all of a sudden I can’t  play my iTunes music from my iPhone through my speaker… there’s just no option! I have deleted the app I have hard reset my Sonos speaker I have turns of restrictions. Still nothing! If I can’t get sorted then what’s the point of keeping the speaking that does play my music??    please help!!!

Hello Sonos, For the past few years I've used the line input on a Connect:Amp to power a left and right wired speaker with no issues. Recently, I started to notice a clear and obvious major delay from the line input source to the wired speakers. I do not have any other Sonos speakers connected wirelessly. I originally thought this was from my computer or a USB preamp I have for conference calls, but if I test the actual wired input (1/8" male jack from my computer headphone out to RCA left/right male in to the Connect:Amp) simply by touching the input to hear a buzz...there is now a 5 second delay to the wired speakers. This was not the case for 5+ years and just started happening about 3 weeks ago. I should note that streaming music from Apple Music or Spotify has no delay...I can press start and stop and the music stops immediately and pairs with other Sonos Play:1 and 3's I have. Only when I use the line input directly to the wired speakers is there an issue. Is there a new fi

Playbar + Play 5 grouped for Spotify music, but ungroup when I use the tv & have to be regrouped all the time, which is annoying. Also, can only change volume on Playbar while watching tv on Sonos app, not tv remote. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks  :)

SONOS have just deleted my post….and will probably delete this one as I hit send! The brand is going down the toilet within the space of days….customers are furious. Wake up SONOS!!!!

I have purchased two Sonos amps, and front and rear sets of the new Sonance architectural speakers. I want to use them for surround sound in a theater room. I have a cable box, an Apple TV, and apps within the smart TV that will all act as possible video/audio sources. What is the best way to configure so that the Sonos can provide surround from all of them? Use a home theater controller, run the devices into it, and then the HDMI outputs of the home theater controller to the AMPS? Or, possible to run both the cable box and Apple TV to different TV HDMI inputs, and then the TV audio signal to the Sonos? Do the Amps have to be wired to ethernet to allow for surround sound (front and rear) with the Sonace architectural speakers? I'm trying to find any guide published by Sonos on how to use 2 Amps to create 4.1 (virtual 5.1) surround. I got a verbal run through on the phone with them which was not in high detail. Thanks!

I have the Playbar connected directly to TV using the optical cable provided. I have Verizon Fios and was able to program remote to adjust Playbar volume but no matter what setting I choose on TV, I can not shut the tv speakers off completely. Anyone have any ideas?

I’m trying to plan out a house install using a Sonos Amp with in ceiling speakers.   A couple of places I’d like to put speakers such as a bedroom only really make sense to have a single speaker.   Is it possible to have a single Amp appear as two separate zones? So one zone uses speaker channel 1 and speaker channel 2 shows up as an independent zone?   This would mean a single Amp could handle two smaller rooms quite efficiently, whilst still allowing independent audio control. I initially thought this is what Dual Mono mode meant but now I’m not so sure.   If this isn’t possible then it would mean I’d have to use a Sonos One wall mounted for these areas which simply won’t be anywhere near as clean.

Hi there, I've been using Alexa on my beam for months with only a few issues. The main issue is sometimes it stops responding to voice until I go into the Sonos app and I remove Alexa voice service in room settings and then just re-add it. That has always fixed it in the past, in a few seconds. A bit annoying, but only every month or two. Tonight, same issue, so I removed Alexa and went to add again. However, it won't add tonight. I've tried from three different devices. As soon as I press to sign into Amazon, it pauses for a second and then says there was a problem adding Alexa, it doesn't take me to the Amazon login page at all. I've tried restarting, deleting the skill in the Alexa app, deregistering the device from Amazon etc. Otherwise it's working fine as a speaker and TV bar. Even works for streaming when I ask an Amazon echo to play music on it. Just won't enable Alexa its self. Any one else have this. Wondering if server side as was working fine. Any ideas? I wasn’t one of the customers who complained about Sonos’ earlier communication this week. However, I initially had the same reaction as many others who wrote in anger or disappointment in this customer community.  I commend Patrick Spence for his quick reaction, for correcting course, and for the tone of his letter to customers today. I completely understand Sonos’ internal drivers to urge their customers to upgrade their systems. However, as Patrick well said, customer experience and their loyalty is paramount and trumps anything else. I plan to remain as a loyal Sonos customer and will continue to expand and upgrade my home sound system when it makes sense to do so.

l was recently sent an email asking to upgrade and discard my existing speakers. In doing this l could get them blocked and get 30% off a new set up. This raises 2 concerns, 1 my speakers cost me £300 each and trade in value is now £30 and 2 if anyone buys second hand this may already have been done rendering your purchase useless? I must say l am very disappointed in this email, l buy high end stuff to last not to be offered £30 trade in off another 2gen item. Your thoughts please ?

THANK YOU!    Config ( TV Room):  Beam  Sub  2 x One SL TV: Samsung the Frame 2019 (QE65LS03RAUXZG) The speakers are set up as a surround system for the Samsung the Frame 2019 TV via the Sonos app (bream connected via HDMI, rest through WiFi). Trueplay is activated. There are 5 more Sonos One connected to the WiFi throughout the whole flat.  So far, everything is working very smoothly. Except for…   Problem:  The surround sound in the TV Room seems to work as suppose while setting up Trueplay (the testing sounds work perfectly). However, as indicated... ...once I start watching e.g. Netflix there is no surround coming through the rear speakers (the 2 One SL) any more (but a very silent ‘mirrored sound’ form the front speaker (beam).  Dolby surround sound tests via Youtube clips do not work either (render the same result as descr

Sonos has just advised me that my ZonePlayer 100 will become a “Legacy Product” after May and will no longer be supported with software upgrades. Must I, in fact, replace it with a qualifying component if I want to continue driving my treasured Vienna Acoustics speakers as part of my Sonos system? What will happen if I leave the ZonePlayer in place? Will the rest of my system (two One SL’s & a Play 1) be affected negatively? The ZonePlayer still works perfectly, and I can't afford a new AMP amplifier, which will simply do the same thing and offer a bunch of other options I don't need. Will appreciate some advice.

I heard that owning a legacy product prevents you from receiving updates for your newer products, however there will be a way to “separate” them so you can still get the updates. Will this feature prevent you from grouping newer and old products together? Will you lose the ability to stream music to all your Sonos products in sync if you own older ones?   Having to choose between losing grouping between all products or not receiving updates for newer products sounds like an absolute deal breaker for me.  I read the “Clarifications” post but they do not answer the grouping ability. 

The recent combination of announcements - Bridges being made obsolete, the 30% discount in return for bricking a speaker and now the outmoding of the origins Play 5 makes me wonder if the entire ‘smart speaker’ business is going. I have a Play:5 and a Play:1 at home, and none of the rest of my family have any interest in using them. My wife listens to the radio or music via her iMac while working, while my two teenage daughters prefer Bluetooth speakers or just headphones while listening to music. Having Spotify and Broadband means they can stream whatever they like, whenever, so the idea of loading music onto the NAS drive seems pointless to them. I have received an email from you, which includes the serial number of my unit, which informs me that my Connect is now a legacy product.  I an utterly amazed and disappointed to receive this message as I only bought this unit last September. I find this totally unacceptable for a unit I have owned for only 4 months. Please can you therefore answer the following questions:-   Should I demand my money back from the shop I bought it from or from you? I also bought a Playbase and associated base unit. How long before these become legacy products? How can I have any faith in Sonos after finding the expected future life of my unit is so short?  

I'm wondering when generation 2 play 5 will become Obsolete and wondering why I should even invest in it anymore because it will become obsolete when is that date

With Sonos planed obsolescence with older models (the upgrade your old play 5s for 30% discount on newer models - despite some products sold upto 2015 thing i read today - some 'legacy' products will stop working may 2020) When can i expect Sonos playbase / sub / play 1s (in 5.1 set up) to also stop being supported and require newer models? 2025? i would likely like to sell while they have some resale value to them.
