So, I know the Amp do does not have Alexa built in, but I like to use Alexa voice controls to start streaming music. Could I use an Echo dot connected to the line in jack on the Amp to stream music through speakers connected to the Amp? Seems like this should work.

I have audio sources connected to the Line In input on my Play 5's. What is the Alexa syntax to play the Line In on a Sonos speaker? e.g., Alexa, Play Kitchen Line In on Bedroom Sonos TIA Don

Hi, I recently bought 2 x Sonos Ones purely for the Airplay functionality and being able to stream from desktop. However, despite seeing the speaker choice in the mac's output setting and being able to select it, no audio actually routes to the speakers unless I am in iTunes. I can see in the Sonos app that is receiving play information from Airplay, but no actual output. This should be possible correct? I have been able to route system audio through airplay enabled speakers before. I am running Mac OSX 10.12.6 and V 9.3 on the Sonos Ones. Thanks

Google Home and Google Assistant with Sonos

I have a new Sonos smart house system, and a Mac 10.10.5 with all of my music on it. I am trying to access the music directly from Sonos. The "easy" Sonos online instructions say all I have to do is download the Sonos App, click +, etc and all will work. Only problem is that there is only one App, and it is ONLY for Mac IOS versions 10.11 and higher? Is there no way to get an older App, or otherwise access my music library? (I have a new X iPhone with the library sync'd to it).

I've just replaced a dead amp with a new one. But the system thinks the dead one is still on the list of rooms, even though it's been thrown away. How does one remove it?

I have a basic question; how do you switch the source from from wireless streaming to RCA inputs? Also, I am not able to locate a user manual for the Sonos Amp..Is there one, and if so, where is it hiding?

Is there a way we could set a turn off time for some of our speakers? My daughter often doesn't turn off her speaker when she falls asleep and on a few occasions the hot tub (connect amp) was left on after people came inside. The same way it can be turned on with the alarm it would be great to be able to set a "turn off" alarm.

When I first set up my connect with my Sonos ready Onkyo receiver, the Sonos app would switch the inputs on the Onkyo when I selected music to play. Now it will not switch. I have to manually do it with the remote. Any idea's? Thank you.

I would like to play "made for you" songs from Spotify through my Sonos speakers without having to download each song. If I could run Spotify through Sonos bluetooth speakers without having to go through the Sonos AP this would solve the problem I think. Is there someway that I can do this?

I have had Sonos is the home for over 14 years with no issues, however we have recently added the beam which is connect via ARC to our sMSUNG tv. We are experiencing daily drop out where we have no sound from beam, to resolve we have to unplug, and re connect....The speaker selection keeps changing from Receiver to tv speakers, so annoying.....advice please

So I just bought a fire Cube for my TV. I also have a Sonos Beam. My TV is from 2015 and doesn't have HDMI Arc or optical input, so using the adapter I connected the beam directly into the cable box optical input for sound. Now I bought the cube and have it into an HDMI input but cannot get sound at all. Does anyone know what the solution would be to my overall setup so that the beam provides sound no matter what input I am on? I realize I probably need some sort of adapter but I'm not sure which one or how it should be setup. I really appreciate any advice/input. Thank you!

Glad to see we finally have proper Alexa integration with Sonos. Have been using Sonos speakers since the company first launched. I currently have a bedroom setup consisting of a Playbar and a Sub. Separate to this, I have an Echo (that I use primarily for news, not music). With the release of the new Sonos One with built in Alexa, I'm thinking of ditching the Echo and adding two Ones to have a proper surround setup My questions: If I ask Alexa a question (weather, news), will the response be played back across all the speakers in the same room or just one speaker? If I ask Alexa to play music (from Spotify), will it be played in just one speaker or all speakers in the room it is paired with? Thank you

My friend convinced me to buy Sonos, and he showed me how to get music streaming to it. But he likes to mess with people. So every time he's over at my house now, he changes the music stream from his phone - just to fluster everyone. I've changed the Sonos password online (i.e. from a Windows computer, via web browser, log in to sonos.com and change my Sonos profile password). As I recall, that's the same password I used during the Sonos speaker setup. But after changing that password and restarting the Sonos Mobile app on my phone, I am still able to access my Sonos system without being prompted for a new password. How do I lock my prankster friend out of Sonos while still allowing him to use WiFi when he's at my house?

I'd like to get a 5.1 system but was wondering how well the Play:5 works instead of the Playbar. Hoping to use the Play:5 as a great music source for other times when not watching movies.

I have a Beam and One currently. The speakers are in adjacent rooms and I'd like them to always both play by default when starting music. Anyone know of a way to do this? Seems like something basic that should be supported.

I just ran the most recent update of the controller on Mac (version 8.2, build 39247040). I notice that Pandora created a new subfolder of "My Stations" and inside of that, my stations are sorted by date most recently played. I'm sure that was requested by some users, but is of no use at all to me. I want to browse channels alphabetically as it has been. Is that a preference I can change or is this the new sort order we all have to use now?

When I browse artists in music On this Phone, an album art is pulled and displayed as an icon for the artist. When I browse Music Library it does not. I’d like to suggest an updated to fix this please.

Hello all, I have a Playbar on its way and have been reading up on here for a couple of days. I have a Samsung LED TV with optical out, Xbox One, Tivo (Virgin Media), Minix Neo U1 and Samsung Blu-ray. Eventually I'll have the Sub and maybe 2 Play 1's for rear surround but for now it's just the Playbar. What's the best signal for the Playbar only, does Dolby 5.1 make any difference over just stereo from the TV?. I don't mind taking the time to get 5.1 through the optical TV output if it makes a difference if it's worth the trouble.

Just got a Play:1, set it up successfully with my i Phone added another i Phone and i Pad. All working fine. Down loaded the Windows Controller. When I tried to connect to my existing system I get the message "No existing Sonos system could be found" Any help would be welcome.

With the latest sonos app causing the ability to control my sonos speakers from the lock screen now unreliable and missing, I'm searching for alternative ways to easily adjust the volume or pause/stop the sonos with a third party remote control.....either hand held or wall mounted. It is quite annoying to have to unlock my phone, open the app all just to adjust the volume or pause music. Who has used 3rd party remotes with success.....which ones did you use? FWIW, I am wanting this to control the older Sonos Play:1 speakers. I have 3 of them......all mounted high and out of reach.

Hi. my Sonos shows Family Room (+Sub), but no sound is coming from the Sub. I have been troubleshooting this for days. Forced Sonos speakers to be on the 2.4GHZ bandwidth by renaming a dual band router, made each speaker have its own DHCP reservation on my router, tried hardwiring an ethernet cable to the playbar. Under Advanced Settings / About My Sonos, It shows both Playbar and Sub, but it states "Warning: Your wireless network will not support the use of a Sub or surrounds with your Playbar". It worked perfectly for 2 weeks when all new, but have been having a lot of troubles getting it to all work smoothly again. The playbar kept losing its connection, but i think I got that sorted at least. Please help!!, as this is getting very frustrating for such an expensive sound system. Thanks,

Hello, I am considering replacing my old classic amplifier+CD+bluetoothReceiver with a Sonos Amp. Since it will be connected to my turntable, it shoul be great. However, apparently I won't be able to listen to my LPs using my headphones, am I right?

I have two Sonos Play1’s on the same network. The Sonos app sees both players as separate rooms, and currently, the app can play the Sonos in either room (as expected) What I would like to be able to do is to add an additional level of security so that anyone using the app to play music would have to add a password or something similar to play music in a specific room. The reason I need this functionality is because the two Sonos Play1’s I have, although they are connected to the same network, they are in different buildings. So with the current set up, someone in Building 1 (Room1) is also able to play the Sonos system in Building 2 (Room2), which is clearly a problem! If there is a solution to this problem, could you please advise.

I've been looking at speaker stands and wall mounts for my 5.1 Sonos system arriving tomorrow. I have Sonos One's as surrounds. My wife saw the Sonos Shelves and she become fond of them and would like to get them. My question is do you seen any disadvantage of using the Sonos Shelf instead of a typical wall mount for surrounds. I just want to be sure just in case we go this route. All the pictures I've seen seem to be of solo speakers not in a surround system. Thanks
