Hi, I have a HiFi system consisting of an amp and 2 speakers. I would like to attached a Sonos Connect and link the amp output to the Sonos Connect input. I understand the Sonos Connect automatically detects input. My question is if this also automatically turns on any other Sonos speakers I have at home? I would like to achieve the following - when there is music playing on my amp, I would this to turn on all my Sonos speakers and start the music playback on all of them. Please note that I cannot do the other way around, which is linking Sonos Connect output to amp input, due to the nature of my set up. Thanks!

Hey there; I have a house full of echos, dots and sonos speakers. In general, my Alexa Sonos skill is not working well. For example, I have two Play Ones paired in my kitchen as "Kitchen". When I say, "Alexa, play Billy Joel in the Kitchen" she says "Shuffling songs by Billy Joel on Kitchen" -- but no music plays in the Kitchen. She thinks she is streaming.... I have deleted all my smart devices, and reinstalled, etc. Not sure where to go from here. I was hoping you guys might have some troubleshooting suggestions. Thanks, Mark

Hi, I wonder if using 4 120W 8 ohm speakers in parallel in a Sonos AMP is safe? I know that each channel in the AMP is 125W and I'm afraid of damaging the speakers if I turn up the volume to high. Please anyone help me here? Thanks!

I have an Echo Show in the kitchen, Beam in the living room, and a Sonos One in my bedroom. If I stand 1ft from the Show and issue a command, the Show, Beam (15ft from the Show), and sometimes the One (25ft from the Show through a door) will perk up as they hear the wake word, but instead of the Show responding one of the Sonos devices will. Usually this is the Beam. Echo Spatial Perception SHOULD be able to tell I am closest to the Show and therefore expecting a response from the Show. Instead, if either of the Sonos devices hears the wake word they will respond although the command was not meant for them. I’ve tried factory resets, enable/disable the skill etc to no avail. Has this happened to anyone else?

my Sonos has some troubles lately. 3x Sonos 1 and 1 Sonos 5. Music takes some time to load, plays for 2-3 seconds and that waiting for about 5 seconds and then continues. WiFi in my network seems ok, 3 UniFi access points throught the house all wired to the router. What could be the problem? I sent in a diagnosis to Sonos: number 947289968 Anyone have suggestions?

I have a CD player on the line-in of a connect amp, grouped in Sonos app. I want to play CDs to my Play 5's and use Alexa as voice control. The Play 5's work great with Amazon Music as a source, but Alexa discovered the Connect Amp as a speaker, not a music source. Have not yet found the key to getting my CDs to play. At this point, im not even certain i have my amp confogured properly in the Sonos app, since it seems to want a music source identified, even though i want to use the line-in. Maybe i should just delete all and start over.

My playlists usually run to 100+ tracks. I have them in a random order. I'd like to ask why does the Sonos system repeat the same track three or four times even though the track is only added once? This happens even when the shuffle feature is used.

Loved the functionality of Alexa on my three Sonos One speakers when I bought them in September (voice control at last!!), though I did notice little glitches here and there. However, one by one, the speakers stopped responding to voice commands, and after procrastinating for awhile, finally went through the steps of re-setting everything. To be clear, I can control the Sonos speakers flawlessly through the Sonos app. The devices all show on the Alexa app. When I call Alexa, it either doesn't respond at all, or says it cannot understand me right now. Ran diagnostics on Sonos app: 1895040296 And yes, the mics are on (double white lights are showing on all speakers)

My SonosOne microphone only works once each time I turn it on. I have reset a couple of times, including deregistering every device in the house from Alexa and Sonos and starting again. Same problem continues. Please help.

I have had a Sonos One for over half a year, Alexa voice service used to work on it like a charm until I upgraded my old router to Orbi. Ever since Alexa fails with the message:" Sorry I have trouble understanding right now please try a little later", I have tried many different fixes but its only a matter of minutes to hours (depending on the fix) for Alexa to fall back into the same error: - Replug the Sonos One results in Alexa working for 10-15 minutes before the error - Re-registering Sonos results in Alexa working for 3-4 hours before the error - I have tried many more: Resetting my modem/Orbi/Sonons, Setting up Orbi's Satellite after I setup Sonons, changing the 2.4Hz channel of Orbi to 6 instead of the auto(3). I have sent my diagnostics to Sonos and they found that my Sonos speakers are not communicating with Amazon. Does anyone have a similar problem? Can you think of something else I can do? kiss is my goal but per the usual app gyrations, Sonos app is anything but simple, for me. As the Dao talks about, everyone else is sharp, I alone am dull and have no end of confusion using this system. How do I find my likes across several devices that I use to control my play1 and 5? I’m talking real basic here as playlists and likes are scatter across 3 iOS, 1 Android, and one iMac.

Trying to play music on my sonos one using Alexa and my Deezer account. Alexa is saying "Playing song from(my choice) using Deezer" but nothing is playing. Any ideas folks ?

I have a Sonos one in my bedroom and kitchen. I used to be able to ask Alexa to play music while in one room (say the kitchen) and it would only play in that room. Hi I have a system with 2 x beams 1 x playbar 2x Sonos speakers 1 x Sonos Amp running 2 ceiling speakers. I also use a Bridge My broadband is good with speeds of circa 30 gigs If I am playing music from 1or 2 speakers in a group the system seems to work fine but when I have all the speakers on in 1 group it starts cutting out, stopping & skipping I did a bit of reading and twice tried the trick of switching everything off including the router & switching router back on followed by each speaker individually but it made no difference. Diagnostic which was taken a minute after a skipping episode is 763375353 Regards

Unfortunately i can't find simply way to play any mp3 file using API. Could someone show me simply way to do it ? Only what I'm found this is play from url https://developer.sonos.com/reference/control-api/playbacksession/loadstreamurl/ But this means, each file first should be must upload to service and next play. I'm wondering how it is working on my Sonos application in Android. There I can just choice file from my phone and play. I would like this same results. It is possible using this API ?

This is weird, and it had never happened before (or I didn't realize it): I have Sonos One's, in the living room and in the bedroom. It's happening that, if I say "Alexa play" and I say it in the living room (a pair of Sonos One's), it responds to me, but it starts playing music in the bedroom (a single Sonos One). The same happens the other way around: I say play or stop in the bedroom, the device acknowledges the command, but execute it in the other room. It does work properly if I name the room, but I didn't need to specify the room before. All of this started to occur right after I was experimenting with Alexa groups (where I tried to create an "everywhere" group). Have any of you had the same difficulty?

I have created a few Sonos playlists and I would like to copy the playlist songs to an SD card for playing in the car. I've searched and searched but all references I find refer to uploading songs or playlists to Sonos, I cannot find any references to how to download/export a playlist to other devices. Is this possible? And if not is this a feature that can be considered for future updates? It is an incredibly simple feature to implement so I am amazed it hasn't already been implemented, and it seems a shame to spend so much time building playlists in Sonos that I can't make use of on other devices. Just to clarify, all the songs I want to download/export are on my network, i.e. I'm not talking about downloading anything from any streaming services. Thanks Mark
