Reading a review of v 9.2 both Engadget at Mac World talk about our new ability to set a Max Volume in a roon, yet I see no way to accomplish this. Any suggestions?

I currently have an existing home theatre 5.1 surround sound in wall wired speakers and whole house audio that consist of in ceiling wired speakers in 4 separate rooms (circa 2010). They are are currently run by a receiver that has 5.1 and a switch that allows me to run different media into the other rooms. Now that I am using Apple TV solely (no cable/Fios just internet), I would like to clean up and simplify my system while using the existing speakers. Ideally, I like to be able to play Hulu TV or a movie using 5.1 surround and extend to other rooms, or be able to strictly airplay from my phone to other rooms while someone else is watching Apple TV. Sonos AMP looks promising but doesn't support 5.1 surround with existing wired speakers and do I have to get multiple devices in order to incorporate the whole house audio? Any solution options would be helpful. Thanks!

Hey community. I am wondering if it is possible to set things up in this arrangement in a new build. I have the idea in my mind, but I'm not sure if it actually works. In the living room, I want to set up the TV to be connected to a Playbar, then bond a Sonos Sub to it. Then where things will get funky is that I also want to bond a new Sonos Amp (powering 2 in ceiling speakers which happen to be way behind the TV) to be the surrounds. Effectively a 5.1 channel setup for the TV (as long as the 5.1ch signal is fed through the optical in to the Playbar, which decodes it to the sub and in ceiling surrounds. If this works, the idea is also that whenever I play music to this zone, it will fire up all the speakers; Playbar, Sub, and Amp (in ceiling) at the same time as well. Can a Sonos Amp even just act a part of a zone and not be its own?? Does this work? Has anyone tried something similar with a Connect:Amp, Sub, and Playbar? I received a phishing email after I started using Radio by TuneIn through the Sonos app. It stated I had a trial for 1 week and then I would be charged $34.99 per month. When I clicked on the review/Cancel link, it asked me to log into my Apple ID. Then it stated I had to Unlock my account, and then enter all kinds of information from SSN to driver license, mother's maiden name, you name it. Has anyone else experienced this? I reported this to Apple. But I feel this is a Sonos problem.

I have tried researching this but have found very little info that wasn't very helpful. I have Playbar, Sub, and two Play 1s in rear. (5.1) I would like to add two Play 3s on either side of my Playbar to widen the origin of sound in front of me. The only way that I see to add speakers is for surround, but these Play 3s would need to play L&R sound. Is 7.1 sound supported by Sonos, or is there a way around this? I wanted to ask someone on here before I go blow $500 only to find out it doesn't work. - Thanks

I have been looking to get into the Sonos community and I think the Beam will fit my needs. I am looking to replace my current amp and bookshelf speakers with the Beam. So my final setup is hopefully my TV and turntable connected into the Beam. The TV part is simple, but I am looking to see if anyone has had success with connecting a turntable to the Beam. I have a Audio Technica LP120, with a prebuilt phono preamp. Hi, everyone! ? I have read many useful advices here. However, it's not clear to me what to choose in my case. I'm going to buy Sonos to listen to Classical and Jazz music and to connect my system to a TV. I will put it in the middle-size living room in the house and the budget is 1,5K. I'm looking at [b]Beam + 2 Play:5s[/b] combo. Will it be enough for my purposes? ? Another combo may be: [b]Beam + Sub + 2 Play:1s[/b]. But I think it's better for TV experinece...? What do you think, guys?

does anyone know how to group a couple of ONEs with other dot / speak combo? So frustrating having multiple groups when I just want one group of all speakers

Hi all, I recently moved and decided to replace my Play:5 gen 1 with a surround system so I got the Playbar, a pair of Play:1's and a Sub. A few weeks ago I unpacked my Play:5 and found it was dead, it has been replaced under warranty so I now have a gen 2 but I wondered if there is any benefit of using this in my home? The only reason I can think of is Airplay 2 which I'd like as I have Apple mobile devices, but reading up it sounds like the only way to have Airplay 2 work with my surround setup is if I group them with my Play:5. Does this mean that if I wish to stream Airplay 2 to my surround the Play:5 must also be playing the same audio? My space isn't large enough to warrant this and it seems a waste to have such a good speaker used purely as a way to stream from my phone to the surround. I know the Beam would accomplish what I want but I much prefer the size/design of the Playbar, the Beam would look too small under my TV and going by pricing I'd hope the audio is better o

I have a Marantz M-CR603 with two wired speakers in my kitchen and I have a Sonos Playbar with sub in my lounge and a Play 1 in another room. Please can someone advise me how I can join the Marantz with the Sonos Playbar i.e. so I can make the Marantz part of my Sonos group i.e. so I can play music on all outlets at the same. I have set everything up and Alexa /sonos one will repeat the command , but then it will not follow through to change the channel . is it not available ?

My Sonos device is connected to my WiFi which make it easy for me to connect to it. This also makes it easy for my roommate to connect to my device and take over or blast music from my room when I am trying to focus on something. Is it possible to make my device only recognize my phone?

I’m trying to set up a remote control to work with a Playbar. The app keeps telling me it’s detecting button presses on my remote even when I’m not pressing buttons. The remote setup fails because the Playbar is detecting phantom button presses but not real ones. I tried this with two different remotes and did a factory reset of the Playbar, to no avail. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks! Carl

So I have the JU6400 Samsung UHD TV. It has an ARC HDMI port, and 2 other HDMI ports. I connected the Beam with ARC, and Apple TV 4K on a regular (STB) HDMI port. Turned on AnyNet+ from the Samsung menu to have it see the Beam on HDMI-CEC (ARC). Except they don't want to talk to each other! I have played around with every setting on both devices to have the audio from the TV routed through a "Receiver" (Beam) option on TV, but no sound gets outputted. I have even turned off CEC control in the Apple TV settings without success. I have read multiple forums here and otherwise and tried with every possible setting, unless I am missing something obvious somewhere. ANY TIPS?? The other route I took from Optical Out from TV using the Optical-HDMI adapter. I got sound, yayyy! Except, then I got to know that the TV is programmed to not output Dolby/DTS surround sound when the input is 3rd-party HDMI input which is Apple TV in this case. Meaning, I am now listening in Stereo!! UGGHHH!

I just purchased a Sonos Playbar. Everything works perfectly. I can go to the app and play music while I’m watching TV but how do I switch back to the TV audio without turning the TV off and on?

When I ask Alexa to play music from either prime music or pandora she says "Shuffling songs from" or "Getting your last Pandora Station" but then never plays any music. It was working fine before, but I've been experiencing this problem for the last couple of months.

I currently have a play 1 in the far corner of my bathroom and it fills the room great. Its moisture resistance also means I've had zero humidity issues. The only drawback is you obviously can't start hitting the buttons or your phone when showering or anything. This meant i was excited to hear the Sonos one had alexa inbuilt, as voice control music is perfect for the bathroom. Unfortunately i can't find anything that says the Sonos one does/doesn't provide the same moisture resistance the play 1 does. Does anybody know? The microphone holes do also cause some concern as I'd understand if they scuppered my plans, but here's hoping.

Why will Echo sometimes play only a sample of a track on my Sonos system? Example, 'Alexa, play one in ten by UB40 on family room'. Reply 'playing sample of one in ten by UB40 on family room' Family room is the name I selected for my Sonos I should add that if I ask Alexa to play the same track on the Echo it will play the full track. Is there a fix for this? Getting rather frustrated by it :(

Hello We have two play 5 first generation wish we thinks is great but now we are thinking about get speakers for or terrass. The thing I was wondering about is how humidity resistant the play 1 is for outdoor, can I leave it out under the summer as long as it's under roof or do I need take them in every night? On the website it stands that it can be use in bathroom so it shouldn't be any problem but I just want to be sure. For the new generation play 5 it also says that it's humidity resistant but not whether resistance, is it enough to have it under roof under the summer? I live in Sweden so it don't use to get hotter then 30 degrees Celsius but sometimes we have morning dew.

Under my Sonos account I've speakers at my home and weekend house. Now the weekend house has been sold and the speakers with it. How can I de-register these speakers from my account so the new owner can register these under his own account? I've tried to search the support pages/community and have not been able to find the answer.

I have a pair of play 1's in my kitchen. I would like to also have an echo show in my kitchen with the sound played on the Sonos speakers. Is this possible? Not just for music, I want the sound for videos to come through the Sonos Speakers as well, and everything else the Echo Show outputs to audio.
