Hi Guys, I currently have the old sonos amp zp120 I think it is in my office. I've then got my pc speakers connected to the pc. I originally bought the zp120 many years ago to plug the pc into however there was too much of a delay. I'm wondering with the new sonos amp being able to be used for TV whether it is now suitable for the pc thus getting rid of having two sets of speakers in one room! Any ideas? Thanks

I want to add my Sonos to my Alexa smarthome everywhere skill and say "Alexa Play xyz everywhere" and music is streamed simultaneously to my Echo & Sonos devices.

I recently purchased a Beam to use with my Samsung UE40NU7120K and I am having problems with audio not in sync with visual when using Dolby Digital and Bitstream as set up on TV. This is using HDMI ARC. I know there have been a lot of posts on here concerning this but haven't seen a definitive response from Sonos. I can get it to sync if I switch audio to PCM but is this inferior sound? If I want to extend my Sonos system will I always have to use PCM and not the better quality Dolby? Is there anything else I can try? I'm still within the 100 day return window so might consider changing to a rival soundbar from Bose as I haven't seen issues with them.

Hi all, when i first set my beam up (connected to arc) on my Samsung tv it would automatically come on with the tv. Now for some reason the tv speakers work first for about 10 seconds then the tv says receiver unmute then it switches over to the beam. Any ideas why it has now changed?

Hello, Upgraded our living room from smart TV to projector. The audio out on the projector is 3.5 mm. What is the easiest way to connect to the optical input on the Playbar? Maybe I'm stupid but it seems like all of the solutions I find are converters that go from optical to 3.5 mm versus the other way around. Any help that can be provided is very much appreciated! Hi, I bought the Beam this week and have a problem. Normal setup is fine: it plays TV sound and I can control TV volume with voice commands and I can issue regular Alexa commands e.g. “Alexa, what’s the time?”, but if I say “Alexa, turn the TV off” she says “sorry I couldn’t find a device called TV”, and if I say “Alexa, play songs by Led Zeppelin” (which would play from Spotify on all my other Echo devices) she says “Hmm, to do that first enable the Sonos Beam skill in the Alexa app, then say ‘Alexa discover my devices’” I searched the Alexa skills for “Sonos Beam” but can find nothing. I already have the Sonos skill enabled.

I have a 5.1 setup (playbar, sub, 2 play:1s). Recently, the playbar has a crackling and static like sound coming out of it when I watching cable tv (cox). I have an optical cable running from the playbar directly to the TV. Please help.

I'm planning to pair 2 Play:5s for stereo playback. The document "Selecting a location for your Sonos speakers" includes this about vertical vs. horizontal orientation: "While positioning the speaker in vertical orientation may be necessary for certain spaces, it should be noted that there is no stereo playback in this orientation. The speaker will play in mono." Why is stereo playback not possible with a vertical orientation?

Do you have plans to ship a Windows 10 Store app which can be used from multiple Windows devices (PC, Phone, Xbox) to control the Sonos experience? We are a Windows household and the desktop controller that exists for PC today is heavy and not very touch friendly. The third party Windows Phone app, Phonos, is fills a void, but not nearly as feature rich as the Android or iOS app. This has been requested for several years (https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/support-windows-8-rt-for-surface-tablet-and-windows-phone-8-for-mobile-devices-4593709) and the product management team does not address this gap beyond a blanket we have no news statement. I understand that choices have to be made. If you do not plan to address this in the net 12 months then can you at least make your API public with your apps being first and best examples of how to use that API so others can fill the gap for you? I am slowly working on getting my House outfitted with Sonos Speakers. I currently the the Beam and that works fine for my Current Usage. I thinking about what to do for the Rear Surrounds. I now there are essentially 3 of the smaller speakers which I am thinking will be fine for my particular setup. I am just getting thoughts on if there would be any reason for me to get the Sonos:One (Gen1 or Gen2) over the Play:1. Since this will primarily be for surround sound usage and some music, whenever it gets to that point when I can get my family to actually use that aspect of them more commonly.

Need some help. I have a Beam, 2 play ones and 2 Ones that I want to add all to the one room connected to my TV. I have added the Beam to the room "Living Room", but then when I go to add the Play ones and the ones, the "Living Room" is not an option to add these 2 and I have to add them to a new room. Then when I turn on the TV only the Beam plays the sound and I have to go into the Sonos App to group them every time. How can I just add all these speakers to the one room so that when the TV is switched on, they all play sound. Thanks and sorry if there is an answer somewhere else but I just couldn't find it.

I have two Sonos One's grouped as a stereo pair. For some reason, recently whenever I ask Alex to play music from Pandora or Amazon Music, both of which are enabled in the Sonos app and in Alexa app, I receive the error message, Sorry, that device is offline. This is infuriating. I've Googled and found several threads on the Sonos forums and they all say to disable the Alexa skill and re-enable it. So I have a Sonos amp with BW 685 S2 bookshelf speakers. I’m finding the other speakers in my Sonos group, play ones and 1s, in stereo pair are sounding full and sometimes better than the 685s. Now, I know the 685 S2 are great speakers and should be worlds better, but why am I underwhelmed? Is there something I may have setup incorrectly? I have them with 4 bi wire cables on the speaker, with 2 on the amp end with banana plugs. They don’t sound bad, just a bit underwhelming especially compared to the Sonos ones Sometimes I think getting rid of them and just having a Sonos 5 in their place would round out my speaker and music much better So you understand my set up better, here is how I have it in the same room: Group 1: 5.1 beam, sub, and two play 1s Group 2: two Ones on the sides Group 3: two BW 685 S2 with amp in the middle For movies obviously I use just group one, but when listening to music I like to group them all together for a surround affect.

I'm looking to build a 5.1 channel surround system around my two Play:5 Gen 2's. I want to keep the Play:5's as L+R, add two One's for rear (L+R), a subwoofer, and a center channel (beam or playbar). My question is, does SONOS provide functionality to use sound bars as a center channel between two speakers for L+R?

As part of a home renovation, I am installing a new Sonos Amp off which will run a pair of ceiling speakers (B&W CCM664). These will be front L & R speakers through which the TV will run as well as a turntable. Does anyone know if it will be possible to add a pair of Play:1s to this setup in order to add rear surround sound (the ceiling speakers providing the front audio)? Unfortunately I won't be installing a soundbar so this is my only option.

I hope someone can help because this is driving me nuts. The controller app my android device refuses to connect to sonos. The controller app is on 2 other android devices and 3 PCs, and they all work flawlessly. I have scoured the forum and tried everything I can think of. I have reset the controller, restarted the device, restarted the router, turned all wifi devices off restarted the router and then turned each device back on one at a time, I have given the device and the sonos fixed IP addresses, reinstalled the controller, all to no avail. It has worked intermittently previously, but now refuses to do so at all. If I reset the controller and try to reconnect it to the sonos by following the instructions to press a button on one of the speakers, it finds it instantly, but as soon as I click "done" to go back to the app, it wont connect. Hi, I have quite old tech (zoneplayer s5 & bridge) and am looking to extend the setup. I have 2 questions: 1. is it true I can only connect play:5 gen1 to my current setup (but not the gen 2 play:5)? 2. can I add a sub and playbar to my current setup? Thanks Paul

I understand that Sonos is working on integrating Google home and would have it released sometime in 2019. I want to know, when this happens will it also support the Playbar?

I have two Play Ones, and gaming PC with wifi and Bluetooth. With my desktop app I can play Pandora through the Sonos speakers. I have networked my computer to my ROKU TV and can play Netflix on the TV though my computer, but the audio is not shared with the speakers. Can I stream the Netflix audio through the speakers too?

Hi, I have the new Sonos AMP and I would like to know if I can use any third party sub?

When I ask Alexa to play a radio station it is now grouping all the speakers in the house and playing that station through them. This is a new issue and not how it used to work. Before I would ask Alexa to play a station or song and it would just play them in the current group of four speakers. Now it is grabbing the bathroom speaker and adding that to the group automagically. Not sure what has changed and if there is a way to change it back. I’ve been scaring the crap out of my wife in the mornings with this new development and would like to get things back to the way they were.

Hi, I want to improve my tv sound and living room stereo. I have a pair of Bose 201 bookshelf speakers and I’m considering either buying the Sonos amp for the Bose speakers with a Sonos sub or simply a Sonos playbar with a sonos sub. Sound quality is the main goal. What would you recommend?

My Sonos Play:1 speaker recently stopped being a discoverable device for my Bluetooth turntable. I have follow several troubleshooting steps to try to solve the issue but so far none have worked. When I originally set up my speaker, I did not have to connect to the SONOS temporary network. I signed directly into my WiFi like I would with my phone. I have tried hardwiring to my router, which takes me further by far than any step in the process but I don’t intend to keep my speaker close to the router so this isn’t a realistic option. Even so, it still wasn’t showing up as a discoverable device for my turntable. I’ve tried most things I’ve read short of factory resetting.
