I understand internet access is required for setup. Is a connection required to play via AirPlay once setup is complete? I’m looking to gift this to my parents who do not have Wifi.

how do I get my tv hooked to speakers?

Hi All, As the title says I have my Sennheiser HDR 175 Headphones in a “group” with my PlayBar + Play:3 (L+R) + Sub and connected to my SONOS via CONNECT (through the Optical output). The issue I have is the headphone audio fading in / out every few minutes. This happens across all audio inputs i.e. TV, BluRay, Netflix, content streamed through web browser etc. I have tried all three Surround settings on the HDR’s (off, low and high) but with no success. Anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? Many thanks,

Hello. I have just bought a Beam for my Samsung Q70 tv. Without the Beam my husband can use his Bluetooth headphones at the same time as the TV speaker which is ideal for our situation. With the Beam this is impossible as stated elsewhere in previous topics. My question is can I use the optical output from the TV with an adapter to connect his old headphones, (Sennheiser RS120, which have a RCA jack connector) at the same time as the HDMI Arc to the Beam. The problem being that even with voice enhancement on the Beam he still has trouble distinguishing voices at times and it would be useful at night when he stays up later than me. I can buy an adapter and try it anyway, then return the adapter if it doesn’t work, but I just wondered if anyone has already tried this? Thanks

I have a Sonos One. I recently moved it to another plug socket in the same room and, ever since I moved it, Alexa has become unable to play music via Spotify. When asked to play music from Spotify, Alexa says "To play Spotify, link your premium account first using the Alexa app." In the Alexa App > Settings > Music Services, Spotify is already linked to my account (which is a premium account). Although Alexa has become unable to connect to Spotify, I can still get Spotify music to play through the Sonos One speaker via the Spotify App. Things I've tried:

I've tried unlinking and relinking my Spotify account in the Alexa app.
I've tried removing Alexa entirely from the Sonos One and re-adding it.
I've tried removing the Sonos skill from Alexa and re-adding the skill.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here and/or what I can do to sort it out? Thanks!

Is this normal? If so this is awful. It's exactly why I've never been able to use them for surround sound with the beam and alexa. My room is very long, now I have to shout all the way across when I'm at the other end of the room.

How do i turn off wifi on hard wired players? This thread indicates it is in the controller.  I’m sure I’ve seen it there before, but cannot find it. https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/disabling-wifi-6814228  These article indicates the same: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3684?language=en_US  When I try: https://bsteiner.info/articles/disabling-sonos-wifi “To disable the WiFi link start by issuing the following HTTP request: http://<sonos_ip>:1400/wifictrl?wifi=off You should get the following answer: wifictrl request succeeded HTTP 200 OK You can also check that the link has indeed been disabled by going back to the status page. The 'ath0' entry should not be present anymore. The setting is not persistent, so if you happen to be unable to connect to your player after disabling the WiFi you can undo the change by power cycling the player. If you want to disable the WiFi link for good, simply issue the following http request: http://<sonos_ip>:1

Recently purchased this TV: LG OLED55E9PU E9 Series OLED TV (2019)   I can’t figure out how to play surround sound from the TV.  Surround sound from my Beam, 2 Sonos One’s, and Sub work when using AirPlay but audio for surround speakers and sub drops when playing from the TV.    Links to videos or walk-thrus would be much appreciated.    thanks!

Can I connect my samsung smart tv to my sonos one?  How do I do it?

Is there a Sonos Controller App for a Windows desktop computer

Hi Guys ... I just got my new Sonos Beam a few days ago and just got around to setting it up today. The set up on my Samsung UN55J6300 was pretty straight forward. The Sonos app walk through was pretty simple. I’m connected to my TV through my HDMI/ARC port. The sound was great and then about an hour later when I came back to the TV, I’m not getting any sound from my Beam. I tried hitting the reset at the back of the Beam and the lights flashed but still no sound. The Beam can play music from my Google Play account so I know the speaker is working. I went to the TV setup section of my Sonos App and it will say that there’s an issue with the connection of my TV. I’ve checked the HDMI ports and everything is plugged in securely. I’m using the HDMI cable supplied by Sonos. I’ve checked to ensure that my Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) setting on my TV is turned ‘ON’. But yet, when I try to test the connection, it will say “Anynet+ not connected ... please try again”. I’ve tried mul

Are there any issues, such as overheating in stacking one Sonos amp on another? I’m sure this question must have been asked but I was unable to find anything when searching on the question.

I play my vinyl records through a turntable which is connected to a pre-amp and then to a play:5. It is a great combination as it combines old and new enabling me to listen to my records, CD, and music streaming, without having too many boxes (which the wife hates). The only drawback is that there isn’t a headphone connection on any of the units which would enable me to listen to the music in peace while the family are clattering around the room. Looking at the messages on the community this doesn’t appear to be a new problem but has anyone found a way around it (please note the comment about not having too many boxes). thanks.

I have recently moved address and I have changed my address on my Sonos account on the webpage. However when I ask Alexa for my location she still thinks I am at my old address. How to I fix this?

It appears I'm not alone regarding volume issues on the original Sonos connect amp. I purchased the bundled Amp with (2) sonance speakers from Best Buy and tried them out of the box 3 months ago. There was ZERO volume until I got over the 50% mark. Even at 100%, the volume is not that loud. I was using 16 gauge wire @ 10 feet. I just installed the speakers outside. I'm using 14 gauge oxygen free CL2 speaker wire. One speaker is about 35 feet away and the other is 20 feet away. I'm hardwired to the ethernet port and tried the speakers using Pandora by default. The volume was not audible until closer to the 60-70% mark. I've read about this issue multiple times and have not seen a resolution. -Support Diagnostic: 18720331 -Volume limit is set to off -I've toggled between Loudness on or off with no discernible difference, except maybe the bass level -I don't have a line in

I am looking for a device that can play the sound from my Surface Pro 7

Hi, My Move is scheduled for delivery today, can't wait! I will be putting it in my home office when not in use, and it will only be used several times a month. (We have other Sonos speakers throughout the house that we use daily). When not in use, while on the base, is it better to leave the Move powered ON in standby mode? Or should I power it OFF when not in use? It will be on the charging base when not in use. My concern is will leaving it in standby mode for days on end (while on the charger) deplete the battery quicker? Any advice, guidance? thanks

I’m excited to switch over to Sonos for our house. I’m trying to figure out what to put in the living room / family room, which would be the place where I’d like the best quality for listening to music.  With the sale prices at the moment, for about the same money I could put in a stereo pair of Ones with the Sub, or I could put in an Amp with a pair of the highly rated, lower priced wired speakers out there: Q Acoustics 3020i, ELAC Uni-Fi UB5, or something similar. Anyone do this “similar-total-price” comparison already? What speakers did you use / like with the Amp? Any thoughts on the sound quality you can get with the Ones / Sub vs with the Amp and these speakers or similar ones? Thanks!

Xiaomi TV remote not detected by playbase IR. Is there an alternative or workaround? Sonos app volume works fine. Thanks

How and what cable do I need to connect my Sony AVR (the STR-DN1080) to my new Sonos Port’s 12V trigger connector?

Will it be possible to pair a ‘One’ with a Play:1 to create a stereo pair?

There is no More tab in the Sonos app

Hi, I recently purchased a Sonos One: Gen 2 to pair with my existing One: Gen 1. I was able to create a stereo pair with the two and they both amazing together. However, I can't get the Alexa voice control to work with the stereo pair or the new Gen 2 speaker. Alexa control was working fine on the Gen 1 speaker and when separating the pair and adding voice control it works fine on the Gen 1 speaker, but doing the same thing on the Gen 2 does not work. It takes me through the process and loads the amazon login page where i enter my credentials and proceeds to load for about 15 seconds and then I keep getting an error message saying to "try again later". I have tried several solutions from previous forums, of which none have worked. I have tried powering off/on, resetting the controller, removing and adding skill in Alexa app, completely setting up the speakers again, resetting router, using ethernet connection, different device to complete setup (changed from Samsung to iPad). I just recently got the Sonos Move and was wondering if it was safe to play music from the move while it sat on the dock? Or is it better to just put it back on the dock when on standby and not in use? Thank you.
