Hi! Since I don't have TV, and I watch movies on Benq (W1070+) projector (from my laptop or PS4) I wonder if it would be possible to connect Beam with PS4 directly, and if it's good idea? Of course I could connect Beam with projector via HDMI, but I don't trust audio compression capabilities of my Benq (maybe I'm wrong!). Also my MacBook doesn't support optical audio out. I know - it doesn't sound good, but I was waiting for product like this so long, and I would love to order it. Could anyone please help me? Here are my options: 1. Connecting my Benq with Beam via 10 meters-long HDMI (don't feel it's a good idea) 2. Connecting my PS4 via 10 meters-long HDMI with optical adapter at the end of It Another problem is my laptop. For movies I can use Plex app on ps4, but what about streaming football games? Would it be possible with airplay 2 to send audio from safari to Beam without lag? Oh man. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm lost!

So I bought a beam. Lovely piece of kit and it’s playing music nicely. Problem is getting my TV set up... My TV is about 10 years old (Toshiba 37x3030d). It has a digital out but doesn’t seem to work for the HDMI inputs, only its internal digital tuner. I have a BT YouView box, Apple TV and PS4 and was hoping to just take the audio output from the TV so all three of them would work with the Beam with minimal hassle... However the only way I can get it to work is to hook the Beam directly to the component, I.e. hook it up directly to the BT box, etc. The simple solution is to buy a new TV :D but is there anything else I can try??

my speakers have been playing fine but then 1 stopped playing. The light on top is still white and I can use the controls (pause, play, volume) but no music. I tried unpairing and resetting them up and everything worked again for a few days and now the same speaker is not playing music again. The controls work but not sound.

Sonos ONE set up, flashing orange light. Unable to connect to WiFi wirelessly sitting literally next to the router or even when using ethernet cable. Light flashes green until it tries to connect to WiFi, then flashes orange. After a few seconds of not trying anything it flashes green again but will still not connect to WiFi. This ONE is brand new and has never been connected before. Not sure if it's a hardware issue or what is going on.

My Beam flashes White, then goes to flash green and then a constant red light before it starts över again. I cant turn off the light and even if it works fine it seem a bit unstable from time to time loosing connection Any clues?

macbook pro not connecting with sonos

Hi, I have been running a Sonos 5 for a few years now and it works mostly good. But sometimes, the app does not find the Play5 speaker and it mostly happens at parties when it's most "critical" that it works. I have been searching for a detailed description on the networking that Sonos is using, but haven't been able to find it. I'm a network and security engineer and have been working with networks for 25 years. At work, I do enterprise networking, security and routing/firewalling/load balancing. I would like to understand what network topology Sonos is using for the system to be able to debug the system when it doesn't work for me. Is it available ?

HI i hope someone can help me, when i am watching a film auto going thru sonos the talking is at normal so i can here it but then when a action scene come on the volume is TOOO loud, if i turn the action volume down then when they actor start talking agin i can hear the talking, so all the way thru a film i am turn volume up and down.. i have tried changing the setting on the tv to speech, action, theatre etc but nothing makes any difference at all ?

I have 2 play5's and 1 beam. Since the last release, I have been having connection issues. Oddly depending on which app I'm using (Win 10, Android, or Amazon Fire OS) it is a different speaker that disappears. Currently, on my WIN10 app I can control the beam, but neither play5. My android (Pxel XL, Android PI) can see the kitchen speaker. My Kindle Fire HD8 can see the bedroom. I have really solid connectivity for the last few years - up until the last update. Ever since then I am getting horrible dropouts. Luckily, my alarms are still working in the morning so far. Resetting the wireless does fix this, but it is very frustrating.

As per title, can you have a Sonos One and Play:1 paired for stereo sound, or do you need two Sonos One's?

I am looking to install two pairs of Bose virtually invisible 791s in one large room. Will one Sonia connect amp be able to power both pairs?

My current system consists of a playbar grouped with 2 play 1s for the TV room, 3 other play 1s in other rooms, a connect Amp, and a gen 1 play 5 and also a Sonos bridge. I am having a whole home wireless network installed. Basically 2-4 access points on PoE back to the router. Do I upgrade the bridge to a boost or just use the new whole home wifi? Thanks

how do i connect 2 or more sonos connects together

I am a musicholic, have been since forever. I have a long history with music & audio & audio systems. SONOS has been one of my favorite purchases for some time until today... "screen lock controls" are no longer available and the experience of having songs pause or be interrupted continually is brutal and annoying. Does anyone know if SONOS intends to correct this issue? If not, I will be looking for a new way to listen to music wirelessly.

I have a proplem with my recently bought Sonos/Alexa. When I tell Alexa to connect to Spotify it responds saying 'sorry that device is offline'. Similarly, when I ask it to connect to a radio stn, Alexa acknowledges request but nothing happens. Can anyone help me to solve this problem please?

Is there a way for multiple poeple in the household to be adding songs to the same queue? For Example: Adam is playing music from his Iphone/Sonos Player using his spotify acount and Bob and Charles want to add thier own songs to the current queue on the Sonos Player from thier phones using thier personal Spotify Accounts. Is there a way to do this?

Hi I've been unable to get voice control activated on the Sonos One. It seems that the set up process is not completing correctly. This is what I'm doing: 1) Open Sonos app 2) 'More' page menu 3) Voice Services 4) Amazon Alexa...Requires Alexa app 5) Add Amazon Alexa...Add to Sonos 6) Steps to set up Alexa...Connect your Amazon account this takes me to ps://na.account.amazon.com 7) Click 'Allow' to sign in to Alexa enabled Sonos speaker Clicking 'Allow' just brings me back to step 2). Voice control has not been activated and the microphone light remains off. I have an Amazon account, an Echo dot in another room with Alexa all set up and working fine. I have the Sonos skill enabled in the Alexa app and I can ask the Echo dot to play music on the Sonos One which it does. But I can't ask the Sonos One anything. Well, I can ask, but it ignores me. I have a Playbar that is just 3 years old, after recently moving house, I am getting a high pitched noise from the playbar, It still plays music OK, but you can hear the high pitched noise behind the TV or music sound. All of the other equipment is the same, I have tried in various rooms around the house and even at my sisters house (to eliminate any electrical issues in my new home) It is very annoying - like tinnitus!! I have seen many posts on this community and seems it is a known problem. I have done a factory reset as instructed on the other many posts about this topic and the sound goes away and then comes back during the setup. I have submitted a diagnostics report:642892514

The best location for our Sonos Sub is on the ground right next to our forced air vent that delivers air conditioning and heat. I'm a little hesitant to place it there though, with fears that it will get damaged. Does anyone know if my concerns are valid? Thanks!

Hi all, Been delving into the 'Matrix' to find a cause for the sporadic dropouts we sometimes have here. Circa 19 devices in the matrix and each showing as tertiary (everything shows as tertiary) which I believe means wireless when we have 4 devices wired (including a boost) Devices include a mix of ZP120, ZP100, Play 1, SONOS One, Play 3, Play 5 Gen 2 There's no 'Root' device showing in the matrix, I assume there should be? I've just tried to change the zone wired into my router/modem to 'Root' via advconfig.htm followed by a reboot. In fact tried several times with no joy. Is the lack of a root my issue? House renovations are currently on hold, which is a shame as I was going to run cabling around the house. It would be good to limit the dropouts until then though. Hi all Just bought new Sonos One with Alexa from amazon. Set up Sonos and music easily. Trying to set up the Alexa and it says on Sonos not available in this country. I am in UK and have checked setting and it shows UK. Any help on this would be great. Bought specifically for Alexa and disappointed I can’t set this up. Thanks

Used for years but have just got a new laptop. downloaded the app but it wont connect to my play 1's ive tried everything it says. if I sign in to my spotify it connect straight away. On the manage drop down everything is greyed out except change language? Please help!
