hi all i'm trying to add a Sonos One to my existing system, for 2 reasons: 1) first and foremost, to add a device that is compatible with alexa (all my other existing devices are not), and 2) to add an additional speaker to my system (why not?). The problem is that when i added the sonos one and tried to add it to an existing room, all other rooms other than the one i wanted to add it to appeared as choices. The existing room (my living room) has two existing play 3s (paired together i think), a subwoofer and a playbar. does any of this preclude me adding the new speaker alongside these devices? (and is therefore a reason why this room did not appear?). i know that i can group rooms so the advice of 'just call it x and then group it with your living room' is (partly) valid. But this workaround causes some additional problems - for example, when i use alexa to play a song in the living room, i then have to manually group it with the room the sonos one has been allocated to each

My microphone appears to be permanently disabled. If I press the button it does not stay on. Please help

Hi! I've been reading today abput the Dolby digital passthrough issue. I have tried googling if my TV supports the Dolby digital passthrough without any luck BUT I went to the audio settings on the TV and and "audio output". From there I can select Dolby Digital and DTS Neo 2:5 and PCM(default). Does this mean my TV support the passthrough? My TV has an HDMI ARC if that makes any difference. Sorry I'm new to this ;)

I don’t want to go and buy any new tablet if I have to at the moment. Not working due broken leg in July. My X-10 home control app on the iPad is no longer available on Apple Store, but it is on Android Play Store. I was given a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 GT-P3110, with Android Version 4.2.2 But that can’t run the Sonos App So I am still ‘screwed’ I now need the iPad for Sonos and the Android for the TIP10RF app for the X-10 So this old Tab2 is too old for Sonos as it can’t upgrade the OS any more. What Android OS do I need for Sonos App ? Looking for a used Android Tablet, but need to know what to look for.

If your Sonos speakers are not currently in a group, and you initiate a song/playlist on one speaker thru Alexa, and want to add another Sonos speaker, how do you do it? I want to stream the same music to all my Sonos devices even if I add them "on-line" one by one. (I know you can do this if you group them ahead of time in the Sonos app, but.....)

Hi, I am having an issue, I have the 2017 Nvidia shield going into my Samsung ue406670 via hdmi 1 and the Sonos beam out of hdmi 2 (arc) I get 5.1 using the TV Netflix and Amazon app but Netflix and amazon via the shield is stereo only, when I force 5.1, no sound at all. I have tried to alter the settings on TV and shield but when shield is on my only option is PCM. Could it be that my TV only supports stereo via arc? But I get 5.1 with apps directly in the TV, maybe stereo passthrough? Any ideas? Like (0)

I'm and "old" sonos newbie who has screwed-up his surround setup to the point where my wife wants it returned because it does not perform the way "we" thought it would. My system consists of a Beam & 2 Play 1 speakers. The issue is I hear the audio from my Beam only and nothing I do allows me to adjust my Play 1 speaker volume independently. I want to lower the Beam volume and independently increase the volume on my Play 1 speakers. If I use the app or the plus volume buttons on the Play 1 speakers the system volume changes. I've just submitted a diagnostics request (1302827367) in hopes they can give me some help. In the meantime - here I am - asking their user group. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Additionally I don't know the difference between a "surround system" and a "home theater system". Gumpa

Sonos works fine -- Alexa works fine except cannot see Sonos speakers It has worked in the past. Note: I believe that having 2 Sonos accounts has created the problem. One account has the speakers, the other account has the Sonos SKILL. When I try to add the Skill to Alexa, it tells me that I need to transfer to the other account. All sounds well and good but while executing the transfer it abends and tells me to call Customer Care .. "GOOD LUCK THERE!". What I would really like to do is delete one of the accounts and get everything in one place. Can't find a way to delete a Sonos account. I have a simple configuration. 2 Sonos One speakers and iPhone app and a Windows 10 app.

I have spent an hour trying to reconnect my Spotify account to both Sonos and Alexa so that I can say, "Alexa, play 'XYZ' on Spotify." It then tells me to connect my Spotify account to starting with my Alexa app but EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED AND I AM LOGGED IN. I have tried uninstalling both apps, I have disconnected the service from the speakers, I have even checked my Spotify account to ensure I am in fact premium, even though I know I am, and sure enough, that's fine too. I literally cannot figure out the problem. That all being said, I can't ask my speakers to play Spotify but I can open the Spotify app on both my laptop and phone and connect to my Sonos speakers from there. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING. HELP.

I have a multi speaker setup (PlayBase, Sub, two Sonos Ones). Voice commands to Alexa work perfectly. I can request a playlist, artist, song, or station from Amazon music and it will play. The problem is that it stops after one song. I've read previous threads regarding this issue. So, I removed the skill and re-added. I've removed the surrounds from the group and re-added. No change. The PlayBase is wired in as is the sub. Any thoughts?

Hi, I have a beam and 2x ones for surround sound. I can’t seem to play music after I’ve been watching tv without using the app. I’ve tried saying “switch to Spotify” but it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

Having continuing problems with Alexa and the Sonos one speakers - one speaker has cut out completely and refusing to respond. The other is occasionally working but mostly not- I’ve tried rebooting numerous times to no avail - the software is rubbish - a lot of money for it to go wrong - I’m considering returning them and going back to old fashioned Bluetooth connection unless anyone has any tips?

I do not understand something. I have sonos one. I have amazon in Poland, paid version. music is played back by the applications on your phone and computer. I have combined applications with sonos - but I can not play because it does not work in my location !!! ---- yyyy .... I do not understand

Have my Beam set up with my Sony Bravia tv via Arc, sounding great. If I then stream some music, I then can’t find how I revert back to the TV sound once the music is stopped, I’m having to turn the TV on and off to get the sound back. I bet I’m missing something obvious!

Hi all, Yesterday i noticed that the beam had disconnected from my Samsung TV. Its been connected via Arc for 3 months with no issues. Now, when using the remote to adjust volume, its displaying the volume level with "tv speaker" next to it. There must be a signal, because i can adjust the volume on my phone and over power the tv speaker volume. Ive cycled power on TV, Beam and cycled the ARC lead. Are there firmware issues at the moment that im unaware of? Streaming music fine so no issue with the hardware. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Hello Sonos Community! I have a Sony STR-DH790 multi channel AVR powering 7 built in wired speakers in my family room. I want to extend the same music/sound outdoors to play simultaneously, but don’t yet have an outdoor system. Do Sonos wireless audio solutions allow for this type of connectivity to an existing AVR? If so, what do I need to make this work?

Can I make a Bluetooth speaker that is connected to an Echo Dot play together with my two Sonos Ones and Sonos Connect? If so, what is the set up method?

Cannot play Spotify

I have the Play One with Alexa which works amazing. I also have an Echo Dot in another room that works beautifully with my Sonos system. The only slightly annoying thing is that I have to tell my Echo Dot "Play Rock in the Living room". If I don't specifically say "in the living room" the dot plays the music (which is technically correct). Does anyone know if there is a way to change the default player/speaker so that I no longer have to specifically say the location of the speakers I want to use? In other words I would just say "Play Rock" and my Sonos speakers would kick on. I can't seem to find anything specific to this question while searching the Alexa forums.

For aesthetics my Playbar is hidden behind my wall mounted Sony Bravia tv. I have set up the remote and when in direct line (from the side) of the Playbar I can adjust the volume, however when sitting directly in front of the tv I can’t adjust the volume. The tv receiver starts picking up the remote and the TVs volume bar just goes up and down. Is there an easy fix for this?!

I would love to get rid of my receiver and use the new sonos amp. I already have a sub and a def tech mythos SSA-50 passive soundar that has 5 channels. I enjoy the quality of both. Can I: 1. connect my tv to sonos amp 2. Connect 4 of 5 channels of mythos passive playbar (omit center) 3. Connect my sub to sonos amp 4. Pair 2 sonos ones as rear speakers Will this give me 4.1 sound with simulated center by sonos amp? How do you think quality would be for movie watching? For music? This seems cheaper than starting from scratch and buying an all sonos solution.

My daughter was round our house for Xmas and used her Spotify, on an iPhone 6S, to create a playlist over my SONOS Play:1. The next day, when she was at her own house, 4 miles away, she was trying to use her Spotify to play over her own Bluetooth speaker, unfortunately my Play:1 started up on its own, and as the Bluetooth speaker wasn't responding she tried increasing the volume, yes you guessed it, the Play:1 began blasting out with the music she was trying to play! I have a Play:1, Play:3 and Play:5, with the Bridge, can anyone suggest how this could have happened? Jon

When asking Alexa on my Spotify One’s I always get the reply: ”Please link a Spotify Premium account...”. My premium account have been linked and works perfectly thru Sonos. Spotify is selected as default music service in the Alexa app. Use UK location on both Alexa app and Sonos app. Spotify account is however Swedish. Any idea or fix to this problem?
