Can the new Sonos Amp be used in conjunction with a sonos playbar to create a true 5.1 surround setup?

Is there anyway to listen to radio shows I downloaded through the SiriusXM app through the Sonos app? Let me explain, SiriusXM lets you download some of the radio shows through their app and then you can play them back only within their app but I don't see anywhere in the Sonos app that lets me access those files in the SiriusXM section. Any help would be great. Thank you!

When the TV connected to the Playbar is turned on, The volume is loud, almost defaulted back to either where the music was previously or at a high set level. How do we set a lower default setting so that when the TV is turned off, then back on, The default level is low and not blowing out the neighbors Thanks!

Hello Sonos people! My current system is a sort of a mess, and I'll do my best to explain it. I really only use it for 2 things, watching TV and whole house tunes when I have company over. I have a Vizio TV in the living room and the sound from the TVs built in speakers are pathetic. So I have it plumbed from my cable box to a basic Sony receiver and listen to 2 Sony speakers wired to that receiver. When I have people over or on the weekend when I want to listen to music, I typically listen to Pandora or Spotify that I airplay through an airport express that is then plumbed to that same Sony receiver and speakers set but I also have prewired outdoor speakers for the patio/ pool area that come from that same receiver. When I have both the outdoor and living room speakers going, the outdoor speakers sound decent enough, but I think the draw kills the power to the living room speakers as they sound like garbage. Before the community existed in this form, Sonos had a website where feature requests had a separate status, and could be voted for. Some features introduced back then were based on popular demand. Now, requests are scattered across the community and receive the same (non-)reply every time. I think it would be good to have a separate place on these boards for feature requests, just like the "Ask a question" board. Adding a "me too" button or using the original "like" button, votes could be cast for a feature request. It wouldn't necessarily change Sonos' policy on giving information on the status of development - the previous version of this system even had a "under consideration" and "rejected" status tag - but it would at least give some visibility to highly requested features.

Is the Playbar required to create a home theater system?  Or can a home theater be created with just 1s and 3s? 

Not sure if it is a coincidence. I have a pair of Play 5 set as preferred speaker in the living room group. "Play music" would start Spotify and play on the Sonos. But since today Alexa responds with "something went wrong". When I set the Echo (Show) as default speaker it works again, switching back to Sonos (Play 5 and/or Beam) is will result in an error again. I disabled and enabled the Sonos skill, no luck. Anyone else seeing this? Could it be the update, or is that only controller related? Any tips how to trouble shoot?

My tv has an coaxial S/PDIF outlet. Does anyone knows what kind of connection cable I need to connect it to the HDMI input of the Sonos AMP? The cable that Sonos provides has an optical input and HDMI output. I search for a connector with an coaxial input and HDMI output. Does this even exist?

I have a SonosOne and sometimes it simply shuts off by itself after working normally. Is there a setup setting that makes this happen?

My Play 1 won’t connect over WiFi. I have a Sonos connect amp in the same room (with 4 passive speakers in the ceiling) happily connected over WiFi, but the Play 1 just won’t connect. The only way it works is if it’s physically connected to the router but that’s in another room and I don’t want it positioned there. I don’t have a telephone port in the room with the connect:Amp, so I can’t relocate the router to that room.

I have Input from Sonos Connect to Line Out on Zone 2 of receiver. The sound on my TV is connected to the receiver so when I watch TV, the sound feeds to the wired speakers and Play 1 speakers. But, how can I play music from my Sonos app so that the sound also feeds to the speakers connected on my receiver? Right now, when I play music from my Sonos app, the sound only goes to my Play 1 speakers.

I have just upgraded my Play 1 to a new play 1 with Alexa. so I can control and play music via the Sonos app and love how I can now use Airplay to control so don’t have to use Sonos player app. However How do I get Alexa to link to my Apple Music so I can do voice controls? It’s driving me mad.

I have three Sonos Play 3 speakers and a Sonos Bridge. The system is 3 or 4 years old. The bridge stopped working; the speakers seem to have power but the bridge appears to be dead. No lights; just doesn't seem to turn on. Is there a way to confirm whether the bridge is working and if I need a new bridge what should I purchase. I looked at available products and it seems that the bridge is no longer available, but it can be purchased on Amazon.

I currently use a PlayBar and SUB for my home cinema. I have a spare Play:1 so was considering getting a One and using it alongside the Play:1 for surround speakers along with the PlayBar and SUB. I know you can't stereo pair a Play:1 and a One, but can you mix them as the rear speakers in a 5.1 setup? Or is that essentially the same as creating a stereo pair? Buying a new speaker, I'd prefer to get the One, but not if I can't mix it with a Play:1. I'd just get one of those instead.

Hello All! Just moved into a new home and trying to figure out how to place my Sonos system. I have the Playbar, Sub, and two Play 1:s. In my old house i had a pretty small living room so it was easy to mount the surround speakers (Play: 1's) on the wall at head level to the left and right of the couch. In our new home I'm told the Family Room/Kitchen Combo is now called a "Great Room". So I don't have a wall behind where my couch is. To the left of the couch (if you're sitting on it) is large windows, and to the right of the couch is a hallway that leads to the other rooms. So since I have a window on one side and nothing on the other side I'm lost to where I can place my Sonos speakers safely. Back up plan is getting a Speaker stand, but I really don't want to do that with cables and such lying around. So I'm thinking maybe I could mount them on the wall on either side. One side would have to be above the window where there is a gap between the window and ceiling

I have a Samsung 60” 4K connected to my PC (sound Realtek HD) and use it for everything (music, movies, games). I recently bought a Sonos 5.1 system without properly knowing or researching about formats... I have an optical audio output in DTS format that my sonos system will not read. Is there any software or hardware solution to Output DD directly or convert the DTS to DD? I have a sense that this question has been made numerous times, but the answers I found direct to give up on the 5.1 because PC is not the main use of the system. If I do not get a solution, I will return the Sonos and get a Bose 700 or whatever you recommend. Hopefully there is a solution. Would a sonos connect do the trick? Any cheaper solution? Thanks!!

After smashing my head for weeks, I finally got 5.1 from my PC to my Sonos Beam and surrounds. This was very confusing because there is no direct way to troubleshoot where the problem is coming from. But, ultimately I was able to do it. [b]SOLUTION[/b]: I bought a Dolby Digital - Sound Blaster X-FI USB device from MicroCenter and bypassed my videocard's audio. The Beam is hooked to the SB Pro (X-FI) via the optical chord it came with. It was a super old device, I don't think they make it anymore. Thank goodness the guy I spoke to was as passionate about audio as much as I was. Turns out my PC board didn't have enough ports to upgrade the soundcard internally, so I couldn't do it that way, but this guy was a godsend. No need to upgrade, usb works fine. [i]*After you install the soundcard you still have to switch your default audio to SPDIF -Out (SB Pro), by default it won't be this.[/i] There you go, month's of research and here's the solution. Hope this helps someone.

Hi - I've seen a couple of different answers on this. Can an Echo Dot be paired with the Sonos Beam and if so, what functionality can be used between them when paired? I note a couple of other questions which state they can't sync any playback, but then other forum posts suggests they can be paired. Clarification would be great, thanks.

I have my Cable box hooked up to my Sony Bravia TV through an HDMI chord. Then from the TV to the sonos Playbar, I have a toslink optical cable. Because of this set up, the video is running faster than the audio from my sonos speakers This is causing a lip sync delay when watching TV. I already checked and my TV doesn't offer the functionality of delaying the video. I also checked and unfortunately the cable box doesn't have the option to delay the video either. And I know Sonos offers the ability to delay the audio for syncing purposes but I don't need to delay the audio, I need to speed up the audio or somehow delay the video. What can I do? How can I speed up the audio or delay the video?

After working fine for a couple of months, my sub stopped working. I have reconfigured it to the router and the white light is on showing that it is connected to my Beam. Not sure what to do here, it is not a signal strength issue. Ran diagnostics and sent in #2018153387. Thanks in advance for the help....
