I’ve read some similar topics on this forum but found nothing quite the same as my setup, which is as follows: Panasonic TV with 4 x HDMI 1.4 ports and a digital optical output. - HDMI inputs handle PCM only - HDMI2 is ARC and can output digital surround if, according to the manual, the receiver has “HDAVI Control 5” function. - TV has a Freeview HD tuner Panasonic blu-ray player with HDMI and optical out. This is connected to HDMI1 on the TV. Google Chromecast, connected to HDMI3 on the TV. Beam (with 2 x One SLs grouped for surround) connected to HDMI2 ARC on the TV. The issue is that all signals into HDMI on the TV are PCM only, so it’s outputting PCM to the Beam. What I need is a way to send the video from the blu-ray and Chromecast to the TV, but the audio to the Beam, to get the full benefits of Dolby Digital. But, I still need the TV audio to go to the Beam when watching TV channels. I’ve looked at all sorts of audio extractors/splitters with HDMI and optical inputs and outputs,

One of my Play5's quit working while playing and the light is out. I rebooted the system, unplugged and re-plugged. I even swapped locations and chords with my other Play5 that is still working. No dice. Light is out. I think it is broken. Please help.

This topic is fairly old and might not have the most up to date information. Please click here to see a list of more topics around the same subject. I was given a Sonos One. I want to use it like a bluetooth speaker connected to my phone and my computer. I don't see any instruction for this - all I see is to connect it to Pandora or other streaming services. Can I use the speaker like a bluetooth speaker with my phone and computer?

I have an old Droid Turbo. A Sonos notification popped up yesterday stating "Stopping the service may affect Sonos homescreen widgets.". And a link to Stop Service.  There was an update, which I have now installed, but the notification remains. I can't clear it.  I restarted my phone. Still there.Anyone know why it's there and how to clear it..?  I didn't generate it.Thanks!

Does any one know the type and size of screws that secure the beam to the wall mount from the bottom of the mount?  I just found out today (after the beam fell off the mount)  that the electrician who installed the beam about 6 months ago did not secure the beam to the mount.  I threw away the box many moons ago.

How do I select to play all songs by an artist or composer? Currently, Sonos seems to limit me to only playing the Artist's/Composer's songs by album or individual song.

Alright, not sure if anyone but me wants to do this, but I want to be able to turn off my Beam and paired Ones. I do not always need surround sound. Is it possible to turn the Beam and Ones off, and just use the factory TV speakers?

Every time I turn on the Apple TV, the audio output defaults to ‘HDMI’ which is the Apple TV itself. I have to switch it to Sonus every time. This is annoying. Does anyone know how to get the apple TV to automatically default to Sonos for audio output?

This is terrible, surely there is some solution here?TV is a Philips 65PUS7303/12 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD Android Smart TV , and it's set up with a Sonos Playbar, Sonos Sub and x2 Play Ones.I'm now in a situation where seemingly my TV is putting out better sound that the 2000 euro Sonos set up. Will something like this work?https://www.amazon.co.uk/Extractor-Support-TOSLINK-Optical-1-HDMI-4K/dp/B06XFZXTYW/ref=pd_sbs_504_3/257-5953424-6042842?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B06XFZXTYW&pd_rd_r=94e64acb-0e5e-44a6-b282-1bb153f122d5&pd_rd_w=HxgJp&pd_rd_wg=GjOmS&pf_rd_p=cc188cba-1892-42b3-956f-6c67d0ab7a00&pf_rd_r=586C298S0NJW05Y9J1JW&psc=1&refRID=586C298S0NJW05Y9J1JW

Are you able to connect your turntable to the Sonos Amp ‘line in’ input and play music from vinyl to either a play 1,3 or 5 that is on your wireless network.  Vic

Just wondering if the Sonos One SL without microphone is really better than Play 1 in terms of sound and functionality other than making the controls more aesthetic and being Airplay ready? Are there any real upgrades in performance for playing regular music. Play 1st are now on sale in many locations.

Hvordan tilkobler jeg denne Sonos One SL til mit Apple TV - step by step?

I keep getting the message “looks like there aren’t any other speakers connected on your home network so I can’t broadcast your message.” I am able to group and play on my play one speakers with the the sonos app and I can also use Spotify direct control so I know they are on the network. I am also able to see the speakers in the google home app. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this? From the home app I try to broadcast and it says broadcasting now but nothing is broadcasted. TIA -Tom

Is there a way to quickly list the most recently added albums to the local library?

I have just run the v10.2 update and aside from it completely messing up the integration and control between Sonos, Spotify and Alexa which i've now sorted after 2 hours of trying to put back to how it was. The option to turn off the wake chime seems to have now disappeared from the Sonos app, has this function now been removed? MJ

Hello all - wondering if its possible to use a Beam with a TV that has not HDMI Arc or Optical Digital output?

Hello All,   I’m considering adding a Sonos to my existing system to add more sound to a back bedroom.  The existing system has newer Denon receiver, two floor speakers + center channel, Audio Technica PL-120 with preamp. Plus numerous other things connected to the receiver like TV, PS3, cable box, etc.  Definitely an old school traditional setup for the most part.   So the super basic question is...what do I need to add to get that single Sonos speaker going?  Port?  Connect 5?  I don’t want to bypass my current setup and have the record player go directly to the Sonos.  I might consider for the future going all Sonos and losing the current speakers but that would still entail using the receiver, right?     I’m definitely lost with all this and unable to connect the dots by just reading others posts.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!   Thank you   Todd

I understand there is a built-in microphone on the Playbase. How do I disable / turn-off the microphone?

Does anyone know if it's possible for two users in the same household to login into a single account and control their music separately? Thanks Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. Her you can find additional information regarding this:  Use multiple accounts for the same music service

So we have friends here for vacation, and they are disappointed because it is not as simple as a bluetooth speaker to broadcast music in my house... you have to download the Sonos app, log in with my complicated password and then they find the app complicated (too many rooms, not used to my music service, difficult to find the tune they want...) and mess up the whole thing. Is there an easy way to have a guest broadcast a tune to a sonos system that I don't know ?

Are there plans to be able to change the Sonos One wake word? My daughters name is Alexa, so it's not practical to have it as the wake word ( I don't need two people telling me that they "don't know that one")

Attached is a picture of my network matrix. Every item is hardwired to network  with wireless disabled, except the playbar in bonus room has wireless enabled to talk to subwoofer. The playbar is also wired to network, since the subwoofer is wireless I enabled wireless on playbar. My thought was that the playbar would turn on sonosnet for just the subwoofer. The Matrix shows a lot of undefined items, I can’t seem to find what MAC addresses those belong to. I have submitted a diagnostics report if that helps, 764802476. I have ubiquiti unifi switches with STP enabled correctly, however this delays the time for getting IP addresses so i would like to turn that off if possible. With my current setup, I believe there will be no loops and therefore do not need STP correct? In summary, what’s undefined stuff and can I disable STP.

I’ve had a play 1 in storage since we are building a house. I never had good performance from the speaker. Using the iPhone  app songs would skip, stop or not even play. I still want to play music stored on my iPhone. I’m hesitant to try and set it up again knowing how poorly it performed before. Has the app been improved any? If not, I’m tempted to just try and sell the play 1 and be done with Sonos.

If I want to use the Brennan B2 as a CD player and Internet Radio as well as a passive NAS, to do this, can I hook it up to any Sonos product with a line in? I was thinking of a Play 5 but may now considering the Port since I have to wire the B2 to the router with a ethernet cable in a different room.
