I've got two separate rooms both with Playbase units connected to the TV's. Both have matching Play1's added as surrounds, and the main lounge also has the Sub added too. I have a spare Play 5 that sits in the lounge and was wondering whether I can make use of this in the lounge home theatre set-up to add even more oomph to the room? Also, is there a way of sharing the Sub on both home theatre rooms at all? I could locate the Sub in the central hallway to be equidistant to the two Playbases if that is an option. Obviously, the Sub would only be being used by one room at any one time. Any thoughts please?

If i get 2 x Sonos Play:5 speakers and only want to stream music from a phone or a computer, do I need any additional equipment like an amp?

I am building a home and am planning on having 6-8 zones, all of which will have a sonos connect. Is there a solution to provide a hard-wired controller in each zone to control sonos? I have tried iPort express but this is very unstable and has to be reset all the time especially if someone uses an android device to control the sonos in that room.

So yes, the lack of Bluetooth is a glaring issue that I think we all would like to see resolved at some point. Really limits things in a big way, but I kind of wonder if it's possible to do a work around some how. So, we can take our tablets, with the Sonos app, and run the Sonos One speakers using a number of associated apps, like Spotify, iHeart, Amazon, etc. Say you just want to watch a movie or something on your tablet, and output the sound to the speakers? If you can output the music stream via Wifi why can't Sonos or some enterprising young developer create a compatible app that will take any sound feed from your Sonos connected device and stream via Wifi the same way? Seems almost too logical and simple to me. Thoughts?

Hi, I want to add a sound bar to my TV and as I have 2 Play 1s in the room already, I'm thinking of choosing the Beam. I see that the information on the Sonos site says it's suitable for small to medium size rooms but it says that on the US and UK site, and also on the Spanish site (I live Spain), which seems odd to me, as most Americans I know think that what I regard as big, e.g. houses, cars, etc. are in fact quite small. Hence my question. My room is 6 meters by 4 and I sit around 5 meters from the TV. I would have the bar under the TV (obvs) and a Play 1 in the corners behind me. Surely that's enough power to give me a good sound? It's an apartment and I respect the neighbours so my Play 1s when dealing with music and radio rarely go above 25% on the volume scale. I really need the soundbar just to aim the sound in my direction (instead of the wall behind the TV) and add some clarity, and hopefully to eliminate the ups and downs between dialog and action that has me r

Hi, I have connected sonos and it works from the app for music easily, I have tried setting the magic remote but it won’t see the signal from the controller. I’ve changed the Simplink to off, set audio out Opitcal lead and stil remote won’t sync with sonos. I do get sound from the tv through my Playbar but still can use remote to turn volume up or down. I understand sonos looks for an infra red signal but the magic controller isn’t infra-red, old magic controllers appear to be able to set up for sonos, how do you do the same for the latest magic?

Hi, is there any chance to set up Beam together with other device (set-top box IPTV) using one ARC HDMI TV input? As for now, I use IPTV box connected to TV via ARC HDMI port. It is connected via ARC in order to control TV and IPTV box on just one remote controller (ability to switch off both tv and IPTV together etc). My idea is to control all 3 devices (TV, Beam, IPTV box)via one remote controller... However, there is just one ARC HDMI port ony TV. Any thought? Cheers, Richard

Ok so I have 6 Play ONE's in a restaurant that work great here's my problem I don’t have a secure network so anyone can get on and mess with the music and volume its happened! I have looked into the router and since we have Comcast business it will cost extra to make a guest network. I have a sound problem with my Playbar, apparently only with TV and not when I'm listen to music. There is a choppy sound, also in my two Sonos:1 (surround) and I have to unplug the Playbar and reconnect it to stop this problem. This happens about every two to three days. This is really annoying...

The Sonance 86 on the Sonance website has a 8" Woofer selling for $799 but it seems like the Sonos/Sonance speaker adapted for SONOS has the specs of the smaller Sonance Mariner 66 for the same price. For the same price my question is I would prefer to get the bigger Sonance 86 but how does this work with the new Sonos amp. What advantage would it be to get the adapted Sonos/Sonance?

Hi, I’m new to Sonos and I’m looking to replace my existing TV/surround and Music systems that currently sit at opposite ends of a long lounge. I have found a few threads that give partial answers to my questions so apologies for any repetition here! I want to be able to keep my CD and Turntable set up but reduce the footprint (and wires!) that accompany my existing kit (see below for list of all components). My overall questions is this: Would a Sonos amp, beam, sub and a pair of ones effectively solve my problem? I have a couple of decent Q-Acoustic book shelf speakers. Am I right in thinking the set up above IN ADDITION to these speakers would provide surround sound ? E.g. Would the beam provide the centre channel audio and the Q-Acoustics the front left and right channels? So theres my house with an Asus AimEsh system, contains 3 routers AC88u as main, and 2 AC66Bu1 as nods. Hello, I actually own a BenQ W1090 with a BenQ WDP02 (Wireless Video) and I plan to buy a Sonos Beam. Will I be able to connect it to the HDMI output of the WDP02 and have the sound from the video projector in my Sonos Beam ?

I'm interested in converting my existing system. I'm looking to have a 5.1 system in the family room, with the ability to add speakers in other rooms and outside (the patio is covered). To be honest, I'm a bit overwhelmed at all the different combinations and what I really need. I currently have a Yamaha receiver which my cable, apple TV and Blu Ray player are connected to providing one input source to the TV. The receiver has multi zone capability and I would like to retain that option going forward. I would appreciate any help or guidance that could be provided.

Is there a way to have the speaker volume come on at a default setting rather than where it was last left? On a couple of occasions I have been scared out of me boots when I restart playing music because the room volume was last set really really high! If not available today, perhaps this could be an enhancement added in a future software release. It would therefore be nice to have 2 settings, 1 to enable or disable the feature itself and 1 to allow definition of the required default volume level, both settings on a "per room" basis. The Sonos Amp will be available in february for me. I am now contemplating the setup for my tv-living room. I would like to hook the Amp to the TV. I have a discreet setup with no cables/wires showing, Ideal for me would be if I can use the wired connections on the amp for the rear speakers and my two planned Play5 gen2 as fronts. Would this be possible with the Amp?

I recently bought a Sonos Beam which i am really enjoying. After i bought it i realized that it could not be used with Alexa multi room music which was very disappointing. I have been trying to find out if i can use an Amazon Echo Input with my Sonos Beam and then add it to my multi room music in the Alexa app using the Input. I feel like this is just too easy of a solution and there has to be a catch. Any help is appreciated.
