Configure LG OLED Magic Remote (2018) with Playbase

Hello, I have a LG Oled C8 and I want to pair the remote with my playbase so I can control the volume with the magic remote. I have read articles like [url=http://support.sonos.com/s/article/3479?language=en_US]this one[/url], but I'm already stuck in the first part, because when I set up a sound bar with optical output, I never get the option to choose my manufacturer. The remote for the 2018 model is slightly different than the one is the article btw. I choose optical and then I can only choose "Done" as you see here: [img]0d21b446-6c4c-4391-8b66-cf8f5d677c1d.jpg[/img] Can anyone help me please. It seems impossible that I can't properly use my sonos with a new TV. It's a 700€ product... Thank you.

Using an Echo Dot - Alexa Routines w/ Sonos One

Hi all, I'm very new to Sonos (have owned a Sonos One for about 3-weeks and I love it!) I have tried searching to no avail. Everything comes back saying that Alexa Routines are unavailable on the Sonos One, which I understand, but, with Prime Day coming soon, I was looking into an Echo Dot and didn't know if you can use the Sonos One as a speaker for the Echo Dot routine? Can I do the following: 1. On the Echo Dot, say "good morning". The Echo Dot will respond with some pre-determined phrase like "good morning". 2. The Echo Dot will then give me a weather update. 3. Then the Alexa Routine will play TuneIn Radio on the Sonos One. Many thanks in advance.

Sonos beam and play 3

I have currently one Sonos play 3 and am looking at buying a Sonos beam sound at for a new Sony tv I was just wondering if I am able to connect the beam to the play 3 and use both speakers for TV sound? Thanks in advance

Hardwiring Sonos:CONNECT takes down network

I'm doing a renovation at the cottage, and added 3 Sonos:CONNECT to drive in-ceiling, porch and wall speakers. Initially I hard wired a PLAY-1 to the back of the router, and that enabled the Sonos network to the rest. It worked, but sometimes dropped sync between them. I finally got around to hard wiring the new Sonos:CONNECT. I daisy chained 2 CONNECT to the router, and initially let the other CONNECT and PLAY-1 use the sonos wireless network. I then ran a new Cat6 line to the 3rd CONNECT that isn't located with the other 2, and tested the line. The hardwire line worked great with the computer, but as soon as I plugged in the 3rd CONNECT, the whole network crashed. No WiFi or internet anywhere. After lots of trial and error, I discovered that if I connected this new Cat6 network as a daisy chain from the basement CONNECT, and NOT directly from a port on the router, it worked again (after rebooting the router). What is going on? May best guess is that the Sonos:CONNECT have a

Hi every one!! I run a playbase 5.1 sonos system with an Apple TV gen 4 on my Toshiba 46XV645U and I can’t have the surround sound... the toslink setup can’t be select as something esle than pcm ... can some one help me with that?

Alexa assumes I live in the UK, which I do not. My Amazon account is US, my phone and iPad are also US. Where is it getting this from and how to change it?

Nintendo Switch - no audio with Sonos Beam

Hi all - running across a strange issue. I have a Sonos Beam connected to my TV. I have several other devices connected that all output audio without issue (cable box, PS4, etc). However, when I dock my Nintendo Switch to play on my TV, I simply get no audio through the Beam. Interestingly, my TV also changes to my Beam's input whenever I connect the Switch. When I switch back to the Switch's input, I have video but no audio. Any ideas why this might be happening? Thank you!

Will a Connect let me do this?

Hi, so I'm looking for a way to wirelessly send audio, in this case CD, tuner and phono, from my old Kenwood receiver to wireless speaker(s) in my kitchen. I want to be able to play the same music out of the speakers connected to the current receiver at the same time. Is this possible with the Connect? If no, what would you reco to make this happen? I've tried the Denon HEOS an Onkyo NR575 to pull this off and neither works in one way or another

Update

Sonos app said an update was needed. After update, Trueplay, EQ settings are not available. Under settings the following options are available: app settings, date and time, system, about, reset, submit diag. I am running iOS 9 on a iPhone 4s. What is really frustrating is that it has been working fine until the update. Help !!!

Beam has 2 ethernet ports and no HDMI Arc port

I just realized that my new Beam (ser #7828CA58F8F2F) has two ethernet ports instead of one ethernet and one HDMI-Arc port (which I'm told is the preferred connection to my TV), plus fiber. My new LG TV has an Arc-HDMI port but I had to connect Beam via fiber audio as the new Beam does not have HMDI. Hmmmm... Is this an older model Beam that Best Buy sold me last month? Is Arc-HDMI still the preferred connection to a high-end TV? Why does my new Beam not have an HDMI port then when Sonos docs tell me to connect via ARC-HMDI if my TV supports it (which it does)? Help please... I want to optimal connection from my LG TV to Sonos Beam.

if I connect a new source into the new Sonos Amp line-in, will I be able to stream/play that source on any airplay2 speaker? (i.e. will it show up on my iPhone as an airplay 2 source?)

HDMI vs Optical

I understand that HDMI can transmit the newer Hi-res audio formats, but is there any advantage to using optical over HDMI for audio? The PLAYBAR only has an optical connection so I was thinking this must be because optical transmits a cleaner signal, but I wasn’t sure.

Sonos Play bar, with Connect:Amp driving 2 rear + sub woofer

I had my receiver ports go bad on me, and instead of replacing it, I decided to get a play bar. Overall, it sounds nice, but I would like to take advantage of my other components which are now sitting idle. I have a very nice sub, and rear channel speakers. So what I am trying to figure out is if I purchase the connect:amp, would I be able to power the rear speakers, and also include the sub (self powered). I read through the FAQ here https://support.sonos.com/s/article/2237?language=en_US , which addresses the speakers. It looks like those would be driven properly. So it really just ends up dealing with the sub. My ultimate goal is to utilize what I already have by purchasing the connect:amp. It would save me a lot of money, and the speakers I can't confirm are 'better' than purchasing Sonos 1, but I do not have power where they would be located... which would required a lot more work and expense. The sub I know is very good quality, and keeping JUST that would make t

Sonos One Not Responding to Alexa Comands

Just setup the Sonos One. All steps were followed and setup went smoothly, However it is not responding to any commands. It does acknowledge the command where I ask to play music, but doesn't complete the action. Diag:8022698

LG TV: Beam via Arc won't allow switching to internal speakers

Beam is connected via the HDMI Arc to a brand new LG TV. Since setting up the audio will only work through the Beam. The TV will switch to the internal speaker through the menu and immediately switch back to Arc. Would like to hear TV sound late at night and not have the beam going. Not sure why it won't allow the different sound output. Help!

Buying in sonos.com with international warranty?

Hello, I'm posting this because I had a chat with one of you staff in the website on Sonos Beam. And one of the question I asked was about the international warranty of the product as I am going to gift to my brother in Manila, Philippines. He mentioned it would have international warranty as long as I bought it in sonos.com BUT when I'm looking around here in the forum I saw a question about international warranty and you guys are only honoring region base warranty. That is why I'm a bit confuse right now w/c really is it?

Volume display tv

I hooked up my Playbar to my Samsung 4K tv. Previously the tv volume would display volume number when i changed the volume. With the Playbar there’s no volume display on the tv when I change volume. How do I get the Playbar to show volume number on tv like it did previously with tv volume? My wife sometimes complains Playbar volume too high since I can’t see a volume number. Thx.
