Looking to start playing vinyl over my Sonos speakers. I have; Play:5 (Gen1) and Play:3, (potentially looking to upgrade both).  Looking for someone to help with the below / confirm my understanding.  If I plug in record player (with Phono preamp built in), directly to the Play:5, will this also allow it to stream through the Play:3 (and potentially Sonos One if I add) What is the benefit in connecting the record player to the Port rather than Play:5? (other than allowing to connect to 3rd party speakers, if record player has Phono preamp built in??). I assume it means the the Sonos speakers can be located away from the record player without anything lined in (other than power)?  The Amp vs Port would only be needed if record player doesn't have Phono preamp built in?    On a separate note, I have a Bridge and have done for a number of years. What was / is the function of this? This allowed internet to “go to” the speakers? Is it still required?    Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,   I've been searching online for days about this and I have yet to find any instructions.  How do you add multiple Spotify accounts to your Sonos system? (Android) Every time I go to add a new account it gives me an error message of “Spotify account is already set up on your Sonos. No need to install it again.” Im not trying to setup a new service, I want to add multiple accounts.  Sonos completely miss out this step on their online FAQ section which says:   https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3624?language=en   Adding additional accounts Adding another music service account follows the same process outlined in our Add a music service to Sonos article. (Not relevant as I dont want to add another service. I have Airplayed from iTunes/Apple Music from my MacBook to my Sonos system ever since I got the system two years ago. Suddenly when I stream from what is now Apple Music (formerly iTunes), the sound is slightly muffled, and there is this playing-in-a-cave sound… kind of like bad live audio. This problem does NOT exist during TV use, nor does it show up if I stream from Apple Music on my iPhone. On top of that, I can stream, say, a YouTube video from my MacBook using Airplay, and the sound is good there as well. In other words, I’ve isolated the situation, and it’s unique to streaming to Music. Other than the muted, distant sound, if the surrounds and sub are turned off, the Beam sounds kind of crackly, and close listen sometimes finds no music coming from parts of the Beam. Either way, it’s all muted and flat sounding. Normally I could use my Beam as a stereo unto itself, just not nearly as superb as the full system.  Anyhow, does anyone have any ideas on this? Like many of us, one reason I want Alexa on my Sonos is to get easy access to their vast range of radio programmes. The main way to do this now seems to be via the BBC Skill.  But there are problems, for instance:  Suppose I listen to the 6 o’clock news on 10th January, but don’t finish.  Then I ask for the 6 o’clock news on 11th January.  It will resume the episode from the 10th, i.e. one day out of date, without any means of moving to the next episode. The skill notes say that I should be able to move to the next episode, fast foward within an episode, and so on, by saying “Alexa, ask the BBC to … fast forward”, etc, but in fact all such instructions are met with, “I can’t do that”. A little Googling suggests that these problems are widespread.  It does seem incredible that, given the state of the art, we still can’t reliably and easily access to the desired episode of the desired BBC radio programme, but we can’t -- though I don’t know whether to blame Amazon, the BBC, or Sonos. Hi everyone. It’s my first post and since I have 2 Play 5s and Beam in the basket and the support guy is fluffy on details, I wanted to check few things here. Thanks in advance. I want a setup to be able to play music with decent stereo separation: streaming + vinyl; and to watch TV/movies. I don’t need 5.1, just solid stereo with balanced bass would be fine atm. This is a reason why I ditched Beam + Sub. Few things… I heard I can’t have Play 5s acting as a stereo group and linked with Beam at the same time. How long does it take to switch the grouping? Alternatively - can Play 5s be paired with Beam and act as far front, so the stereo separation would be there for TV and music (with Beam possibly playing as the central speaker)? Any delay to expect? How long does it take to switch the input to aux, to listen to vinyl records on 5s (or with Beam)? Any special way to do it? Yeah… the turntable comes with a phono EQ built-in. Hi, i have put all of my music onto an external hard drive and connected it to my talk talk router via usb, when i log into the router the hard driceve is confirmed as connected however when i try to setup music library \\192.168.1.1\buffalo_hd\music it says the there is no share (buffalo) on computer 192.168.1.1, please help… Thanks in advance

Hi, Is it possible to use my Sonos One and stream what I’m playing on my MaBook Pro using Algoriddim Djay Pro2?   In preferences I can’t seem to find the option.

I am experiencing an audio delay of 2-3 seconds when configuring 2 of my macOS systems to send audio to the Sonos One as a system audio output device over the AirPlay protocol. My iPhone is able to send audio to the Sonos One over what also appears to be the AirPlay protocol with no lag. Repro Steps on macOS (Catalina 10.15.4 and Mojave 10.14.6): Open System Preferences. Open Sound. Select the Output tab. Click the name of the Sonos One device (where device type says AirPlay). Do one of the following: Play a video in any browser, such as from YouTube. Play a video using VLC. Play a video using QuickTime Player. In all of the above playback scenarios, it takes 2-3 seconds for the Sonos One to start playing the audio associated with the video, and that audio it plays lags behind the video by a similar number of seconds. How can I eliminate the audio delay to the Sonos One when playing from a computer?

Can i use the sonos trade in offer to get new product and still use that  legacy product the connect amp in my garage or will it no longer work. Thanks

Via the Sonos Controller, I am able to play radio.com stations on my Sonos One speaker, which is configured with Google Assistant Voice support. However, if I say "Hey Google, play 670 The Score on radio.com" it says, "Alright, playing WSCR on radio.com" followed by "Sorry, there was an error for the Kitchen." This has been happening since the implementation. If configured with Alexa instead, it works. This happens with every radio.com station that I've tested.

Hello. I am wondering if anyone knows how to get the Sonos Beam to play the sound from my PS4 Pro while it’s connected to the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box(HSB). My setup is as follows. PS4 Pro connected to HSB. Sonos Beam connected to HSB. HSB connected to the only HDMI ARC port on my Sony XBR900e. As I understand it, the PS4 Pro needs to use the ARC port to get the benefits of HDR so that’s why the HSB is connected there. If I unplug the Sonos Beam from the HSB I get the audio to play from my tv, but once I plug it in, I get no sound.   Any ideas are welcomed! Thank you!  

Hi first off, thanks for a one who can help me in advance.  I have owned a Play 1 for a few years now, and finally want to take the plunge into a full surround sound system home cinema type situation. I have read that for surround sound to work the two, L and R speakers have to be identical. Meaning. Would I need to get two new One and One SL’s for the idea to work?    and the second question is do I need to have a subwoofer for the surround sound system to work? what would I need to get a surround system working with what I already have?     I would love all of the new stuff but as you all know it’s quite expensive and I can’t afford it all right now!    thanks so much for any help as any advice would help.    matt. 

My parents has a Sonos beam that is connected to their LG TV. They have a Apple TV and a blu-ray player that is connected to the TV. The Sonos beam is connected to the TV with optical cable. The Apple TV is used on a daily basis while the blu-ray player is more rarely in use. Sonos beam plays sound from the devices when they use them, but when they are controlling the sound on the Apple TV (with the Apple TV remote) it shows the LG TVs sound controlling, and when sound reaches level 0 it is often still sound (it is like the Sonos beam is in another sound level after it has been used on radio or Spotify). I changed the preferences on the Apple TV from sound output to be Apple TV to be Sonos, and then the sound controlling works perfect, but this automatically changes again after turning off and on the TV once. Any tips on what they can do and still use both Apple TV and their blu-ray player with Sonos-sound?    

Can somebody please help me !?!?   All I want to do is stream from my iPhone 11 Max to my Sonos Play 5 1st Generation.   I’ve tried via Apple Music - failed  I’ve tried from the SONOS App - failed I’ve tried from Apple Homekit App - failed  I’ve tried via Airplay - failed   Is my Play 5 1st generation too old to do this?    I’ve seen lots of articles stating that you can connect 2nd Generation Play 5s   Even a cable from my iPhone into the Play 5 would be acceptable as a last resort if there is such a cable.   Many thanks   AJ    

I just replaced my two Play:1s that I was using for sorround with my playbar, with two Ones Gen 2 because I missed. I tried different things, but I was only able to do either airplay as a group or sorround. Googling a bit told me that it’s either sorround or airplay. Can this really be true?

Hello, I’m considering getting a sub to go with my playbar and play one’s but I live in a semi. My sitting room is joined to my neighbours sitting room although my tv is on the opposite wall. Will I have to keep the volume so low that it’s not worth having a sub or do isolation pads work?   Thanks

I have 2 homes with two separate Sonos systems.  For each of these systems I have them Alexa enabled.  I want the systems to be able to share one Sonos account so they can share an Apple Music subscription.  Upon initial setup in House 2,  I setup the speakers, created a group in Alexa, and everything worked fine.  I went back to House 1, and it will play with the app, but not with Alexa.  When you say, “Alexa, Play Neil Young”, the speaker will say that it’s playing Neil Young, but it does not.  The solution is to disable the Sonos skill in Alexa, and then re-enable it.  Then everything works like normal in House 1, but. . . the Alexa/Sonos linkage stops in House 2.  I went back to House 2, deleted the Sonos skill in Alexa, then re-enabled it and everything works great in House 2, but. . . the Alexa/Sonos linkage stops in House 1.  Any advice on how to get them working properly in both houses?

So I am doing this on the cheap, but it is a rarely used room in my house.  I have a new sonos amp connected to five speakers in the room (yes, it works!) and a roku ultra.  Is there anyway to create a home theatre experience here without having to buy a used receiver of some sort?  HDMI splitter? Ethernet cable?  Optical?  Get an old sonos amp?  Looking for some advice on what might do the trick.  Thanks!

Have just set up a Google Best WiFi mesh in my house to help with dead spots on the virgin media hub 3.0. Are there any advantages to switching my sonos from the virgin network to the new mesh? Thinking of google assistant and home connectivity etc.

Hello, I can play search and play Spotify, but everything is greyed out on saved Playlists and Albums I have been using Sonos for the last 6 years with Spotify and now i have changed my Spotify to Family. Now everything is greyed out for my playlists and saved albums, but i can still play songs outside of those sections! Any idea what is going on? Thanks!

I'm attempting to add my iTunes library to Sonos using my Mac. (Following instructions here: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/257 However, it seems like I've run into a snag stemming from how MacOS / iTunes manage the iTunes library and corresponding files. A little about my setup.     audio files stored on an external drive.     i have ~12,400 items in my iTunes library     iTunes Music Library.xml and Music Library files are stored on the drive on which MacOS / iTunes runs Regardless of what import method I use (letting Sonos detect the library, or manually pointing to a location) nothing really gets imported / indexed. What's odd is that Sonos seems to spend a large amount of time running the index but nothing is available via the app once it's complete. (Auto-Detect) My Music Method - Sonos imports playlists, but no audio is playable. Additionally, the playlist entries are all duplicated. The automatic indexing seems to run for quite some time but nothing ever becomes available

Hi folks!    I currently have a playbase as my TV speaker. I recently chose to pick up two used Play 5 Gen 1s for my new larger room I am moving into (24 x 17) as they were the same price as Play 1s.    I am now reading about potential surround issues for the Gen 1 Play 5s, or the only option for them to play the same audio with a delay? Are play 5 surrounds only available for the Gen 2 or is my setup feasible at al!    If so, would the best option here would be to sell my play 5s and go for two Play 1s instead (and maybe a sub in the future)? Would this be sufficient to fill the room? (50% TV / 50% Music)   Thanks All!
