I bought a beam to help with the problem of when watching tv having to sometimes turn the volume up to hear the dialogue, while music plays at a much louder volume. With beam installed per instructions the problem is much worse. I’ve just watched the Hobbit movies on Viaplay. While the special effects and every hiss from the dragon blasts at high volume, at times you can’t hear the speech. I’ve turned on speech enhancement, it makes it better but not good. I also tried night setting but that didn’t make much difference. Is there a setting adjustment I can make so there is a balance between the sounds. I really could care less about the hissing dragon at max volume, but I do want to hear what people are saying. It’s a pity to have to turn on texting to follow the plot. Is there an adjustment that will fix this? If so what do you suggest?

On my other Sonos Plays, I use the top button to restart the previous service/music that I was listeting to. Way more convenient/faster than using the iOS app…   No such trick on the Port without any button on this box, right?

What do i need to do so sonos searches idagioi added idagio because search of classical music with apple is so bad (Even worse with sonos).  But sonos doesn’t seem to search in idagio at all.if that doesn’t work the whole thing is useless to mejpc

AirPlay doesn’t work, or takes forever to start anything. App doesn’t work spewing “can’t connect” “error” and other BS messages.Everything was fine with the older app. My setup has literally not change, except for this crap new app. Now I’m using my $100 Nokia speaker, because my $5000 Sonos setup is ******* unreachable.And do not blame this on the “network” or “router” or “user”: I’ve been running a tight performant network for the last 5 years and it only improved in these Covid times. FIX. Hello:For the past year or so, I have had two Sonos systems between two locations.  Whenever I switched locations, the Sonos controller app would dutifully switch systems.  I updated both systems to the S2 controller, and everything still functioned properly.  However, recently (mid-august) I have had to reset the controller on my phone (Android based) to get the software to recognize that I have switched locations.  I have verified that I can control the other system remotely using my home security systems when the controller software is “confused” about it’s location.  This would seem to be an issue recently introduced by a S2 software update.  I do have these two locations VPN’d together, but this has always been the case, and predates either Sonos installation.  Something has changed with the controller software that seems to allow it to leverage this VPN connection.

Hi, I have a SONOS Play: 1 and primarily use it to play my local music collection over DLNA / UPnP i.e. ‘Show Media Servers’ & ‘Show UPnP Servers’ then I can just browse my personal collection. If I upgrade to ‘S2’ will I still be able to do this? Thanks,

Hi Team,I can see a potential problem that I may have soon. Recently, I’ve purchased a monitor with the following specs: AudioSpeakers No Audio Out 1 Interfaces/PortsHDMI 1.4 2 HDMI 2.0 1  With the Beam I have now, I cant seem to think how to connect the monitor and sound bar and be able to play my console (PS4).As my monitor does not have a speaker, I can only think that if i connect the console to the monitor, where it’ll generate the screen, I am not able to get the sound in the end. What are my options?  

For many different reasons, it seems that I will be needing a 3rd party receiver to drive my living room speakers.    Although I have been eyeing the Sonos Amp for some time, it just doesn’t seem to be the right fit for me.   I will be running a setup with 4 in ceiling speakers. Likely 8 inches with pivoting tweeters from Klipsch, B&W or B&O. Could be Klipsch Reference-series or the B&W CCM683.    I have a Sonos Sub but it will likely be too small for my living room area so I will likely be getting a 10-12inch 3rd party sub as well.  That means a 4.1 system (with a phantom center making it 5.1).    I would like to keep the possibility open for adding two front speakers (floor-standing) to step up to Atmos at some point using two of the in-ceilings for height and the other two as rears.   Any good recommendations for a good 3rd party receiver which “Works with Sonos?   Would also like some input on how well it works - does the receiver switch on, switch input and adjust volu

I want to power an oudoor subwoofer as well as four outdoor "rock speakers." I have an older Sonos Connect and Sonos Connect Amp.  I also have an amplifier. The equipment I have is listed below. Can you help me figure out how to set this up? Should I get a new AMP? can that power all four rock speakers and the sub as well? I spent an hour on the phone with sonos tech support. Wow are they bad.. the person clearly didn’t know the product. And was putting me on hold to speak with someone else. 55 minutes later and the Rep. still had no clue what I was asking. Help! what I am trying to do is setup a First Generation Sonos Connect 2004-2014 model. Last time this happened I had to call and support asked me for serial number and MAC address. They sent it an update remotely to get it working. Last time during setup tho it gave me an error code.  this time the S1 app adds the Connect. And under rooms it says Product (unused) needs update. If you click update→ it says your system is up to date.  It also is stuck in a loop asking me to sign in to my account.  please help! This only took 15 minutes last time this happened to get the update manually sent to the device to get it working. The person I spoke with was clueless.   

I just got a Sonos Move and love it, however, I’m having difficulty connecting it to my TV. I have a Samsung UN65MU8000 which allows Bluetooth speaker connections. When I try to pair it, it just gives me an error. I’ve had no issues pairing the Move to my phone. But it just doesn’t want to pair to my TV. Any thoughts? I’ve verified both softwares are up to date. Thanks.

Same issue as was reported on LG C7 is still relevant for 2019 models (e.g. C9). Frankly, the correct solution should be that the Sonos app allows us to turn off UPnP. The feature has security implications and using separate subnets for your home network is a fairly advanced approach.

HiI just noticed a solid green light on my sub gen 3, it maybe where I knocked a button on it or something when I cleaned it, I turned it off at the mains and back on and no lights are on and it’s working as normal. Just curious what a solid green light signifies? Thank you

I can no longer access FIP radio either through TuneIn or Sonos Radio. Is this a temporary problem?

I can only get Atmos out of Prime Video and Disney+ using the native LG WebOS apps. Netflix only gives me DD+ using the LG WebOS app. How is this possible?? I can’t get any Atmos from the ATV 4k but the image is so much better than the WebOS apps that don’t give me Dolby Vision.  Is there something I can do to get Atmos from the WebOS app? Also is there any way to get Dolby Vision through the WebOS app? I think I understand that ATV4k can’t send Atmos over ARC until there is some sort of patch. It’s all pretty confusing for me hopefully someone can help!

I’ve just added a Beam to my system, and I want to be able to use Speech Enhancement.  I’ve got a Samsung TV, connected to the Beam via HDMI ARC, and everything seems to be working correctly. But . . . I know that Speech Enhancement is supposed to be available in the Now Playing tab.  But when I go into the app, what shows up in Now Playing is whatever music I played most recently on the system, and not what’s playing currently on the TV and the Beam.  So I can’t get to the Speech Enhancement button.  Any idea how to fix this?

I have my Sonos Beam connected via ARC to my Vizio smart TV.  I noticed recently the Beam audio will cut out few a few seconds before resuming.  This only occurs for TV audio (streaming or cable).  Playing music from the Sonos app or through Google Assistant is great and without interruption. I’ve swapped the ARC HDMI cable but have the same results.  I changed some audio output settings on the TV (currently Dolby 5.1) and still the same issue.  Sometimes the audio cut out happens more frequently, but usually it’s 1-2 times per hour.   I tried rebooting the Sonos by unplugging it.  Rebooting the router (its attached via Ethernet cable with WiFi turned off), and rebooting the TV.  All the devices software is up to date.  Nothing has stopped the audio from occasionally cutting out.   Any suggestions as to what might be happening! -Peter

I have a Google mini and a Sonos play:3 in the same room. Since the play:3 does not have voice, I have to ask the Google mini to play the music. If I just say: "hey google, play some music" the music plays on the mini which is definitely not what anyone wants... I have to say the room where the speaker is but not only that, if I setup both speaker in the same room the mini still gets the job. You can set default media playback device for the Google mini but no Sonos speakers can be selected. Is that it? Is that what we waiting so long for? Cause if that's so, I'm getting rid of all of this and just getting Chromecast enabled speakers. Please let me know I did something stupid and this can be fixed.

Hi there! This is my first post here as I just got my first Sonos speaker ever, a One Gen. 2. I've always been into tech and I always do extensive research before buying something, which I've done in this case as well. Everyone is ranting about how great the sound quality of the One is, but I must say I am deeply dissapointed in how almost any song sounds over 50% volume. I feel like the speaker has all the ingredients to be amazing, great bass for it's size, good sound separation and crisp highs and mids, except when I go over 50-60%. It just sounds muddy, harsh, simply not enjoyable and has a weird echoey feel to it over 50-60% volume. Why would they even make it go to 100% if it's just impossible to listen to at even half that? Just to make it clear, I'm not some crazy audiophile, but as a simple example, I bought my dad a JBL Charge 4 for Christmas, which I thought sounded absolutely fantastic even at high volumes, so I'm honestly very confused that a 100$(on offer) bluetooth speak

Question #1:  The bottom of my LG CX 55” set’s screen is only 1 and 5/8 inches from the surface, so obviously I need to raise it to place the ARC in front of it.  In trying to figure out how much to raise it, how much distance should there be between the top of the ARC and the bottom of the TV screen? Question #2:  What is the maximum distance recommended between the bottom of the TV screen and the top of the ARC to maintain a sense that the sound is coming from the mouths of the characters speaking on the TV? Thanks,Brian

I am unable to get any foreign radio stations through tunein, not my saved favorites or any new ones. Nothing. The service is available. I haven’t changed any settings. I can only get uk stations .  Anyone got any ideas? 

As this is my first time on here, I have no idea if this question is in the right place, but here goes. I have seen some of the other posts about the legacy product issues which I knew was happening, but this morning, for me, it went a step further. We currently have 6 zones of old products, all working fine. We gave our daughter a Sonos 1 for her birthday today. When I went to add it to the system I found I couldn’t. Operating system no longer supported. So I tried another controller, and another, and another. We have 3 phones, an ipad, an ipod touch, a Samsung Tablet A, a Z200 and a computer running windows 10. NONE of these devices will allow me to add a new component into the system. Are Sonos now bricking all the rest of my devices as well? They all work fine for everything we need to do; except now none work properly with Sonos. I was about to go and buy a cheap phone just so my daughter is not devastated that her birthday present is an absolute dud, but now the android phones ha
