I connect my Sonos sound bar using optical cable to a TCL Roku TV. I can't get the tv remote to control the sound on the bar. I was able to do it with my previous Samsung TV. I tried the remote control settings in the sonos app but its not recognizing the remote when I asked to hit the volume + button. I also tried using an optical to HDMI (ARC) adapter that came with my beam (in the other room) and then adjusted the CEC settings on the tv, but it doesn't recognize the bar that way. Any suggestions?

I know there are other threads about this but I have not found any solution. It is impossible to properly play music from my iPhone music library to my Sonos speakers. The songs skip midway through, then skip and skip without even playing, then just stop playing all together. Yes, I have done everything suggested. I have changed my wireless settings from automatic to channel 1, and I have set auto-lock to never and tried my best to NEVER USE MY IPHONE FOR ANYTHING while using Sonos. But this is ridiculous. Not only does it drain my battery but sometimes while playing music all evening long I need to use my phone - shocking, I know. The moment I open any other app, my songs start skipping. This is NOT a wireless connectivity issue or other communication with Sonos speakers issue. I can stream Pandora from my Sonos app all day while using 6 different iPhone apps and never have the Sonos app on the screen. This is ONLY an issue when playing from my iPhone library. Again,

Hi I am having an issue where any new Apple playlist I create does not show up in the Sonos Controller. The odd thing is that if I delete a playlist, it removes itself from the list. It is only creating new ones that seem to not appear in the Sonos app. I have gone through the recommendations on this site that others have seemed to have tried but none of those checks worked. I have the following Iphone 11 Pro running IOS 13.2.3 Latest Sonos Controller App on Iphone Rebooted all Sonos Speakers (Just In case) Restarted Iphone Turned Apple Music Sync off and then back on (numerous times) Checked and reset preferences in ITunes on my Win10 Laptop   Thanks in advance Pete

Please add the following Sonos Playlist management/edit functionality to the Sonos Controller application: #1 back up Sonos Playlists #2 export a Sonos playlist to a file (e.g. xml, csv) in a format that can then be imported back into the Sonos Controller application - i.e. allow offline mass editing of a playlist. #3 import a playlist from a music service (e.g. Spotify, Apply Music, Deezer, Amazon Music) and create it as a Sonos Playlist #4 repoint a Sonos playlist to a new music service (e.g. if you change your music subscription from Spotify to Apple Music or vice versa). #5 should be ability create Sonos playlists in an offline editor - i.e. expose the Sonos playlist format/syntax to the public so we can create large playlists quickly (extension of function #2).

How do i setup Sonos with Spotify for my family? I need to be able to switch Spotify user in sonos.  If I play Spotify on my mobile phone but my family want to play Spotify on our sonos ther is a conflict. We are using a Spotify family account.   

I am running 10.6 on iOS13.3 on an iPhone 11 Pro Max and can’t use the hardware buttons to control the volume in the Sonos app. I have checked that the hardware volume control is on (also toggled it on and off) and restarted the app but had no luck. I have read somewhere that the lock screen controls going missing is because of Apple protecting AirPlay 2 functionality but is this related? None of my speakers have AirPlay 2 functionality, I just have a 3rd gen Apple TV on the network.   I literally have to use the volume slider in the app to adjust the volume of the system or use the physical buttons on each speaker.   Has anyone else noticed this or found a solution?   Thanks for any support provided!

I use a verizon mobile hotspot to provide wireless internet in my office, for my ipad, macbook, etc. There is no router, so will I be able to hook up the speakers. I'd like to know before committing to a purchase. I have 2 small rooms I need speakers for.

After working with Sonos support I was told my CR200 controllers will no longer function with the latest software update. One of the best products I used on a daily basis. I’m pissed to say the least.  I look at it as sheer laziness on Sonos’ part not to update a marvelous product.  

I have a Sonos beam with 2 Play 1’s as rears in my minimalistic lounge setup. I have just purchased a 4K projector and I’m having a hell of a time getting it to connect to the Beam. No optical out on the projector. I would like to connect multiple inputs, Apple TV, PS4 and Sky Q. Does anyone actually have similar setup to offer advice on HDMI splitters etc?

Hello. I’ve been having an issue with my Sonos One and Alexa setup which I think is an error but have discussed with Sonos Support and they say it’s not, but this looks to me to contradict the website. Looking for some more opinions/experiences! I have an Echo Dot and a Sonos One in my living room. I have added both devices to one Alexa group. I have the Sonos microphone turned off and use the Echo Dot for speech input as I prefer the visual response of the light ring. The Sonos One is the preferred speaker for the group and that aspect of the setup works well. All Alexa devices in my household are in Alexa groups. The problem I have is that when I’m playing music on the Sonos (via Alexa or via AirPlay), when I speak to the Echo Dot, the music for the group doesn’t duck. Having been a Premium Spotify user since 2012, there now more HD music services avaliable. Is it worth leaving Spotify for one of other services. Is sound quality much better? App intergration etc.   What are peoples thoughts?

I’m as confused as hell!! I had WiFi issues so I have just added TP_Link Deco P9 mesh network. I have 2 PCs hard wired to my Virgin Hub 3.0 Broadband router and sonos works fine. I changed all the Wifi devices including mobile phones to the NEW Wifi network name and password.  Now the SONOS android app only picks up ONE of my 11 Sonos speakers.  I tried everything. I even tried to revert to my old network name and password but I only got one option to do this. THis is offered only when no network is detected ? I cannot find anything in the android app to change the network or password? The confusion is that I now have 2 networks…. A wired one and a wireless network covering the entire property. I use the wired network 90% of the time while my family use the Wifi Only.  Please HELP!!

Hi, I would like to talk to Google Assistant like I do on my Google home mini. For example, to meditate I use Headspace. But the "talk to headspace” command does not work. Is there a way I could tackle this?

Just bought a Beam & LG C8 TV, so far they are both working beautifully with the exception of the loud noise I'm getting once I turn the TV off. It's very inconsistent, sometimes it happens 10 - 60 seconds after the TV is turned off other times not at all. I'm connecting the beam through the HDMI ARC port and using the supplied HDMI cable provided by Sonos. This doesn't happen with the built in TV speakers. Anyone experiencing anything similar?

Hi all, sorry if this has come up before. I’m trying to get my Sonos ones to connect via airplay to my Apple TV 4K. It finds them ok, however everytime I try to connect it fails. Does anybody have any help as to if I’m missing something somewhere. How can I be sure the Sonos ones are actually AirPlay 2   thanks

My Sonos app indicates the music is playing but no sound out of speakers. My wife recently used her IPad to play speakers - she’s on a trip with the IPad and speakers haven’t worked since. I’ve unplugged router and speakers and hasn’t fixed the issue.

I recently purchased a Sonos Beam Shadow Edition from Costco. The bottom of the speaker says the following with respect to Voltage and current --> 100-240 V 50/60 Hz 2.5 A. The Speaker came with just a Plug and no bulky Power adapter unlike other speakers that I have. In future , I will be taking this to India and in India we have 220-240V 50 Hz voltage. So my question is can I use the same plug that came in the box for the speaker or do I need to get a Power adapter from Sonos to use in India? Or a simple plug converter will work?

If I ask Google home to play a specific genre of music on Sonos, it always says that Google Play Music isn't connected to Sonos,  which is true, though Pandora, Amazon music,iHeart radio, etc are. If I tell Google to turn on Sonos, it plays whatever genre of music on whatever service was last listened to. I don't seem to be able to specify which service to use. Is there a way of specifying a default music service for Google to use on Sonos? Is there a way if specifying which service to use?

Hi Guys Hoping you can help, I bought a Sonos 1 and when I'm trying to set up Alex the Sonos Item appears offline. I've tried disabling the skill, re-booting the Sonos, turning on and off and nothing seems to work. I'm quite disappointed to be honest, so much work and frustration for such an expensive item. I would like to be able to turn on music on my sonos speakers using Google Assistant. However, it can only play from Pandora. I can’t figure out how to play from the Sonos Music Library, or a Sonos Playlist.    Is there a way to do this?

I understand internet access is required for setup. Is a connection required to play via AirPlay once setup is complete? I’m looking to gift this to my parents who do not have Wifi. 

how do I get my tv hooked to speakers?

Hi All, As the title says I have my Sennheiser HDR 175 Headphones in a “group” with my PlayBar + Play:3 (L+R) + Sub and connected to my SONOS via CONNECT (through the Optical output). The issue I have is the headphone audio fading in / out every few minutes. This happens across all audio inputs i.e. TV, BluRay, Netflix, content streamed through web browser etc. I have tried all three Surround settings on the HDR’s (off, low and high) but with no success. Anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? Many thanks,

Hello. I have just bought a Beam for my Samsung Q70 tv. Without the Beam my husband can use his Bluetooth headphones at the same time as the TV speaker which is ideal for our situation. With the Beam this is impossible as stated elsewhere in previous topics. My question is can I use the optical output from the TV with an adapter to connect his old headphones, (Sennheiser RS120, which have a RCA jack connector) at the same time as the HDMI Arc to the Beam. The problem being that even with voice enhancement on the Beam he still has trouble distinguishing voices at times and it would be useful at night when he stays up later than me. I can buy an adapter and try it anyway, then return the adapter if it doesn’t work, but I just wondered if anyone has already tried this? Thanks

I have a Sonos One. I recently moved it to another plug socket in the same room and, ever since I moved it, Alexa has become unable to play music via Spotify. When asked to play music from Spotify, Alexa says [i]"To play Spotify, link your premium account first using the Alexa app."[/i] In the Alexa App > Settings > Music Services, Spotify is already linked to my account (which is a premium account). Although Alexa has become unable to connect to Spotify, I can still get Spotify music to play through the Sonos One speaker via the Spotify App. Things I've tried: [list] [*]I've tried unlinking and relinking my Spotify account in the Alexa app. [*]I've tried removing Alexa entirely from the Sonos One and re-adding it. [*]I've tried removing the Sonos skill from Alexa and re-adding the skill. [/list] Does anyone have any idea what's going on here and/or what I can do to sort it out? Thanks!
