When I ask Alexa to play a radio station it is now grouping all the speakers in the house and playing that station through them. This is a new issue and not how it used to work. Before I would ask Alexa to play a station or song and it would just play them in the current group of four speakers. Now it is grabbing the bathroom speaker and adding that to the group automagically. Not sure what has changed and if there is a way to change it back. I’ve been scaring the crap out of my wife in the mornings with this new development and would like to get things back to the way they were.

Hi, I want to improve my tv sound and living room stereo. I have a pair of Bose 201 bookshelf speakers and I’m considering either buying the Sonos amp for the Bose speakers with a Sonos sub or simply a Sonos playbar with a sonos sub. Sound quality is the main goal. What would you recommend?

My Sonos Play:1 speaker recently stopped being a discoverable device for my Bluetooth turntable. I have follow several troubleshooting steps to try to solve the issue but so far none have worked. When I originally set up my speaker, I did not have to connect to the SONOS temporary network. I signed directly into my WiFi like I would with my phone. I have tried hardwiring to my router, which takes me further by far than any step in the process but I don’t intend to keep my speaker close to the router so this isn’t a realistic option. Even so, it still wasn’t showing up as a discoverable device for my turntable. I’ve tried most things I’ve read short of factory resetting.

I currently have a recent Samsung wall mounted TV, with the cables going through the back of the wall to the amp and other devices. As a result I want to avoid adding a Playbar and keep the aesthetics as they are. I also want to hook my TV up to the new Sonos AMP via HDMI/ARC (I have a new Samsung TV), but instead of using 2 x passive speakers with the Sonos One pair as the rear speakers, I want to use the Sonos One's as the front stereo pair i.e. no passive speakers in the configuration. A nice to have would be 4 x Sonos One's, so that I get a stereo front and then a rear surround with the other pair. However, if the AMP limits me to just a single pair of One's at the front, I can live with that. I know a Playbar would (probably) solve this, but I want to avoid adding to the wall or area where the TV is, as I have a convenient place for everything behind the TV. I even thought of using the Paybar as a 'dumb' connection, to get the TV to HDMI and output to the Sonos ecosystem,

I have an approx 32x16 covered porch that I would like to use sonos on--want to attach to wall so they don't "walk" off to other places :) They would be pretty well protected but there is the occasional blowing rain. Any one else have this? And what setup would you recommend? Thanks!

Hi there, I currently have a small setup comprising of 3 Play:1's and a connect:amp. These are complimented by a Sonos Boost. I am not tech savvy and seek some clarification. I have setup my bridge in th eoofice which is connected to my modem router via an ethernet switch. The Connect:amp is in the lounge room and is connected via ethernet. The play:1's are all setup as wireless around different locations of my house. The boost sits next to one of the Play:1's and is connected wirelessly. The entire system seems to work fine with the occasional drop out. I recently purchased the TP Link Deco mesh system which made me pull my hair out as I could not get Sonos to work, and if it did, only 1 play:1 was showing, not four. At this time, I unplugged the mesh system and reverted to my Belkin range extender's network and I have all products working. Should I have the boost connected via ethernet to gain better communication with all speakers, or is this setup suitable? I have read on

I just got done installing a pair of in ceiling sonos architectural. My question is that i have blown in insulation and it is all over the place. Can the insulation be touching the speaker? Is it the end of the world if some gets inside that speaker? If so then should i try and cover the back of the speaker with some netting or wood?

I currently have a 2.1 system in my living room with a setup using a MartinLogan Forte amplifier and MartinLogan speakers. I'm looking to add some Sonos speakers throughout the home to be able to play what is playing through those living room speakers. Is there a way to connect standalone Sonos speakers to this 3rd party amplifier so as to integrate in the Sonos ecosystem without having to swap out my Forte amp with a new Sonos amp?

My Playbar is connected to my Panasonic TV with an optical cable and has worked perfectly like this for the past 4 years. Just this week it has started to intermittently drop sound. Any ideas what might cause this?

Hi I am building a new house and I am wanting to put multiple in-ceiling speakers in the house. I just want to clarify that if I were to purchase the Sonos in ceiling speakers, I would be able to power 3 pairs of speakers with 1 connect amp? Our original plan was to buy Polk speakers and use the Sonos Connect amp to power 2 pairs of speakers at a time but if it is possible to power 3 pair's of Sonos speakers with 1 Connect amp I would prefer to purchase the new Sono's in ceiling speakers instead. Can you let me know how well the Connect amp works powering 3 Sonos speakers. We were going to do 12 speakers with 3 zones but if I could so 12 Sono's speakers with 2 zones I would prefer that.

Evening all, My first post here, and I am a SONOS novice so please bear with me... I hope I am posting in the right place. Currently have a Play 5 and Play 3 and in the process of installing wireless speakers throughout the house. I have been given a CR200 controller as a gift that I really want to add to my system. I am currently just seeing the error message of “Searching for Somos products..... the network configuration for this controller has changed” Can anyone help me with this please? Just went through all the settings on Sonos app as well as Alexa app named my new Sonos One OFFICE in the Sonos app and group it with all my 7 other Sonos. I can play music on all Sonos through the Sonos app, I can use Alexa to play music on any speaker, EXCEPT the new Sonos One. Alexa keeps on telling that OFFICE SONOS is OFFLINE...

Hi, I have a Sonos Amp connected under my TV. Down stairs I have 3 ceiling speakers (two in that room (Living Room) and one in the dining room) and one upstairs in the bathroom. They are wire connected. Great idea originally but now when someone downstairs is listening to music late at night everybody upstairs can hear the bathroom speaker. Is there any way of controlling the speakers individually? When I look at the Sonos app there is only one room (Living room) and this controls all the speakers at the same time. So, Two questions. 1. Can the 4th speaker volume be controlled individually? 2. I guess if it can then I can assume it can also play something different than the downstairs speakers. e.g. TV Downstairs and music upstairs, or off upstairs if required. Hello all, I tried searching within the community before asking but didn't not find what I was looking for. I would like to mix and match, old set of speakers/sub with new Sonos Ones to create a 4.1 or 5.1 Theater system. I have an old Boston Acoustic 10'' sub which I would like to keep. And I would like to connect it all via a new Sonos AMP. 1) Can I have two Sonos Ones connected to the AMP and keep my Boston Acoustic Sub (instead of purchasing a Sonos Sub)? 2) Can I plug in two in-Ceiling (Klipsch) to the complete setup. Hence giving me a 4.1 effect or 5.1? Basically does my Sub become obsolete or still useful in this kinda of setup? Thank you for the ideas and opinions. Stefan

Asking Alexa on Sonos One to play flash briefing results in "Here's your flash briefing" and no flash briefing. I've checked the following: - my Sonos android app is latest - the firmware on my Sonos one is latest - Amazon Alexa app on android is latest - Sonos one is correctly registered with my Amazon account - I've verified that the "play flash briefing" routine works as expected on other devices like Amazon echo Is anyone experiencing this? I am using the Sonos One I received today. I’ve got everything set up properly I believe but here’s the issue I’m having... the music plays fine through sonos app and commands but any non sonos commands aren’t outputting through the speaker. For example, if I ask for the flash briefing it will tell me “here’s your flash briefing” and then nothing will come out of the speaker. Same for “sleep sounds.” If I ask it to play a sleep sound it will say it’s playing but it won’t actually play. Seems to be the skill outputs but I could be wrong. My echo dot is working fine.

With all the recent reports and issues with the WannaCry ransomware I wanted to restrict use of SMB v1 on my home network. My NAS blocks this to the outside world but I wanted to secure things internally as well. I can configure the NAS to not support SMB v1 but this then prevents the Sonos controller app from seeing the share. When will Sonos support later versions of SMB? I had seen another thread on this somewhere and it sounded like it wasn't going anywhere. Is it possible to get an update on this please.

On this moment I have a Playbar, two play 3s and a sub. It sounds great! but it would be very nice if there is a future to make a setup, and create a shortcut to that setup. I give an example: In my case when I watch TV the volume of the Sub is under 50% of his power. The surround speakers are calibrated as left speaker near 0,6 m right speaker more away 3m. Volume 65% and in ambient modus With this settings I have the best surround effects. When I listen to music, the Sub is above 50% of his power. The surround speakers are calibrated as left speaker 3 m right speaker 3m. and in “full” modus With this settings I have the best sound to play loud music. Now when I want to play music I need to [open Sonos-app -- tap left corner -- tap left corner again -- tap settings -- tap settings room -- tab Livingroom -- tap advanced audio -- tap calibrating audio (and walk through the wizard) -- tap back -- tap settings SUB -- change the volume. -- tap back -- tap surround -- tap full --

Hey all, So I am looking into upgrading my sound. Right now I just have a single Sonos One. However, I do have Logitech z313 speakers that I would love to integrate. And I have Vizio Smart Tv that would love to intergate as well. However, I am a little confused about Sonos Amp and Connect:Amp. I am not sure which one would be better for this set up and the differences I need to know. Also, will my Sonos One voice command have any issues with this set up?

I'm frustrated and annoyed with two Sonos Ones. I operate holiday lets in Devon and have recently set up three luxury Shepherds Huts in an orchard on a hill overlooking our local river valley. In two of the huts I put Sonos One - in the third I put an Echo Plus because it supports Bluetooth and I've also put a small Audio-Technica Bluetooth turntable and a headphone amp and nice headphones; the turntable can stream to the Echo Plus but Sonos don't support Bluetooth. I liked the idea of smart speakers for all sorts of reasons, including easy access to music, but also because I could set up Amazon blueprints and give my guests a personalised guide: 'where's the best pub in the area', 'where's the nearest supermarket', 'how do I light the fire' and so on. The Echo Plus has worked faultlessly but the Sonos 1's have been very frustrating and I'm on the verge of sending them back and replacing them with two Echo Pluses despite the slightly lower sound quality.
