Could anyone tell me how many Bowers & Wilkins AM1 outdoor speakers I can run on the Sonos AMP?   I currently have 2 x B&W AM1 speakers running on 1 x Sonos Connect AMP and another 2 x B&W AM1 speakers running on another 1 x Sonos Connect AMP for my outdoor area. I am trying to figure out if I will improve the sound quality if I upgraded to a Sonos AMP and ran all 4 speakers through that or alternatively if I bought 2 x Sonos AMP’s and ran each pair through them as I currently do with the Sonos Connect AMP’s.    The B&W AM1 say that the recommenced amplifier power is 20-100W into 8 ohms. The nominal impedance is 8 ohms (5.2 ohms minimum).    Thank you!!  doug

Sonos Arc arriving today. How do i use it before release of S2 app?

Hi,   I have the sonos beam connected to my tv sony AF8 on the hdmi arc port. But iam considering changing it to the optical audio output because i need the hdmi port to another hardware. My question is: Is big the difference between hdmi arc por vs optical audio output?  

Currently I have a 4k firestick plugged into an HDMI extractor, which splits to an HDMI to my tv and optical cable to my playbar.  This allows me to get DD5.1, as my tv doesn’t pass through DD5.1 through optical connection.  Now on to the Arc.  I am wondering if i simply swap the playbar with the arc, will i still get DD5.1 from the firestick? Doing a bunch of searches and i see that i simply can’t use an HDMI splitter to send an HDMI signal to my tv and the arc as the splitter won’t communicate with the HDMI-ARC input.  Looking for some feedback on the below options: Use the same setup i have now and use the optical adapter with the arc.  Only able to receive DD5.1, not Atmos and not sure if this is compatible?  Is this worth the upgrade? Use the firestick with an HDMI EDID attached to my tv and then an HDMI cable from the HDMI-ARC to sonos arc (tv only supports Dolby Digital, not plus or higher so only 5.1 still), Will an HDMI EDID manager have any impact on the splitter being ab

Tried using Sonos with Golden Master of Catalina and its a no go. When I add my music library on an external drive it does so normally but NO songs in the folder are recognized. Wonder if it has to do with Music being the new app for music instead of iTunes?I was able to see music added if it was on the internal drive of the machine.

I’d like to connect an internet music service live stream on my Macbook Pro laptop to my Sonos system. While Sonos does provide access to many internet streaming services, I have a subscription to Hearts of Space and so am not limited by predefined music that the service chooses to air through the Sonos arrangement. I can select anything from their entire library. Is is possible therefore to get the audio ouput from my Macbook Pro streamed to my Sonos system? Any help much appreciated!  

Hi there, I’ve just purchased a Subsonic subscription after checking that Sonos is supported by Subsonic and that Subsonic appears in the list of available services for my Sonos. Subsonic appears to have correctly indexed my music library but I seem to be having a problem linking to my Subsonic account from Sonos - I am definitely entering the correct user details - but can’t see why it is not working. I’m going to log this on the Subsonic help system as well as I’m not sure if it Sonos not sending the account details correctly or Subsonic not accepting them correctly. First setup: (ARC-CEC enabled) LG C9 TV, HDMI-ARC connected to the Beam. Second setup: PS4 Pro’s HDMI connected to LG C9 TV (for video), PS4 Pro’s optical port connected to the Beam using the optical-HDMI adapter (for audio, to eliminate DD 5.1 lag).   I would like to know if there exists an HDMI switch I could use to conveniently switch between the two setups above. The HDMI switchers that support ARC that I’ve seen so far only work with the switches’ optical port, which means I will need two optical-HDMI adapters for them to work. Thanks!

If I connect my Sonos Amp to my TV using HDMI-Arc and power wired speakers to use as rears, will there be any issue wirelessly pairing the Amp with a Sonos Arc to act as fronts as the Arc wont be able to use the HDMI-Arc to the TV?

Hi, I just see the new products email and wanted to know more.  I found an article in WhatHiFi regarding your new products (Arc, new Sub, 5) and they showed a list of compatible devices with the new app (all mine where there thankfully) but they list a ‘gen1, gen2 and the new gen 3 Sub’?? I bought my sub in late 2018 so which version do I have?? I've see you say on a thread here before that there is only one generation of sub and now two so I’m a bit confused. thank you

Hiya I have just bought a new Sonos one to join the other two. The microphone light does not come on when I push the button. I have tried Rebooting and Factory Reset, but theydid not help. Any ideas, or is it justva defective unit? Best regards Phil

Hi   new to all this, have just brought a Sonos Playbar, downloaded the Sonos app but when I try to setup the bar after pressing the buttons on the side as requested I get a message saying  Playbar incompatible You need the modern Sonos app to set up your system using this product. To add this modern product to your legacy app, set up a legacy product first then add Playbar.   I do not understand this as I am using the latest version of the app, any help appreciated as I am losing patience with this. Hi I have ordered a Snons Arc and today I have 2 Sonos one and a sonos sub, I intend to buy a Smasung 75 inch Q950TS TV and my question is, I know that TV has advanced speakers around and on the back to play 4.2.2 audio, when I connect the Sonos arc to TV through the Hdmi eArc connection, the audio from the TV will be completely turned off and the arc will take over the entire sound system to transmit the dolby atmos or the TV will share the audio experience from both the TV and the arc.

My Sonos beam will turn off the TV but won't turn it back on again. It's a hisense smart TV. All other functions turn up sound or down etc are ok.

I would like to be able to search for other Spotify profiles or public playlists. It would make sense to me if there was a users tab to search just like artist or song. I would like to search for friends playlists by searching for their username first. I would also like to see a followed tab to sort by friends who I follow.    if this is possible using the Sonos app please point me in the right direction. If not possible I would like to request this feature. 

So, I've searched this forum and have found a number of people touch on it but never answered definitively: does everyone's Spotify Connect "forget" it's playing through Sonos and lose you controls on your lock screen? Frequently I'll connect to my speakers via Spotify Connect and start playing some music. I can use my device to control playback (pause, skip track) for at least a couple of songs, but if leave it unattended for 10+ minutes, the control goes away (Spotify usually still shows on the lock screen). When I try to hit the "next track" button the connection to my speakers is lost, immediately stops playing on Sonos, and starts playing Spotify on the local device. I have an Android phone (Pixel 3XL) and an iPad Mini 4 and the issues seems to occur on both, regardless of platform. My living room Play:5s are both connected via ethernet to my router/modem and the app shows on I'm Sonosnet (WM:0) for all speakers in the apartment. Having just received the Move, a few questions related to the device in standby: 1. Will it automatically enter a sort of power standby if not used and no music is playing? If so, at what interval? 2. Can it be woken from standby By playing to it From the app, without physically interacting with the Move? Experience thus far is inconclusive as when let powered on but not in use, the app seemed to reflect it was unavailable, but when I entered the room the lights on Move remained on. If I power off using the rear button, it then doesn't appear that it can be reached from the app or powered on remotely. As a result I'm not clear which is the best/correct method of entering standby. My preference would be to simply leave it powered 'on' and have it enter a low power sleep state until music is played to it or I physically press a button to wake.

Hi - I have just set up a new 5.1 set up which consists of a Playbar, a sub, a One and a One SL and first to a Sky Q 2TB Box and a Sony 4K TV and first and foremost must say it sounds awesome when playing a movie on Netflix through my Sky Subscription. My question is, should I be hearing surround for all SKY content or is this just for movies and certain programmes broadcasting in 5.1. My set up is SKY Q box into TV by HDMI and the Playbar connected to the TV via the optical cable. In the Sky menu settings Digital audio output HDMI is set to Dolby Digital Plus and Digital audio output optical is set to Dolby Digital. Does anyone have a steer they can provide please? Hi, The Global radio stations have stopped playing on my Sonos 1 when I ask Alexa.  Through either Global player or Tunein.  Radio 1 fine.   I have disabled skills in Sonos app and Alexa app and still not working.   does anyone have any ideas please?  Save my tired fingers from doing it via the Sonos app ;-)   thanks nick 

Hi there. I have a question regarding the audio connection in the following setup: The idea is to connect my projector with the Sonos Beam via HDMI/optical adapter. The projector will be receiving the incoming signal from Apple TV, a playstation etc. connected via HDMI switch. What is the best way to achieve this, connecting the Beam with the audio adapter to the projector directly or to the HDMI switch (having optical). What's the differences in functionality (lag, avoiding to unplug cables for different modes etc)?  Also, I would like to be able to connect 2 bluetooth headphones in order to have the option of audio through either Beam or headset. I'm thinking of achieving this by connecting an Avantree Oasis Plus https://avantree.com/es/oasis-plus-bluetooth-transmitter-for-tv to the HDMI switch. The room is being rebuilt, so running cables behind walls is possible, however, once the dry walls are set up, any modification to it will be an aesthetical masacre.   Is there any obv

Hi I have two existing speakers (not sonos). My question is, can I connect the two speaker via the Amp as left and right front speakers And with a sonos sub and a sonos arc to my TV for HT?  would it be possible to expand it later with two sonos one/five for back left and right?

I have or had every intention of purchasing the Arc and was really excited. Now that it has been released I have about what it can and can not do with my current setup. It will be replacing my Beam that's connected to my Sony Bravia Android TV that purchase in 2018 though I believe it's a 2017 model. So it has ARC but not eARC. What does this mean for me. I've been finding conflicting information. My main concern is will I be able to get Atmos. I've read post that say yes and others that say no. After spending lots of time googling info for my TV I have found that it supports Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus (and honestly I don't know what it's outputting to my Beam). However no where do I see Atmos support or decoding for it. Will this mean no Atmos for me with the Arc or will the Atmos signals somehow be carried through the Dolby Digital Plus? Please help... I may need to rethink my purchase. Normally I would speakers for my TV, not the other way around.  Just FYI, I also h

Hoping to find a solution for a home karaoke set up. I can access karaoke videos/music through my Apple TV which is connected via HDMI to my TV. All TV audio is then routed from TV HDMI ARC to my Sonos Beam with two Sonos Ones as surround speakers. Any possibility to add a microphone component as an additional audio input mixed in with the TV audio on the same speaker set?
