I’ve been trying to play the Roger Waters The Wall Atmos track off of my PS4 but I’m only able to get 2.0 stereo sound. The TV is set to passthrough audio and the PS4 to Bitstream (Dolby). Anyone one been able to successfully get Atmos with the PS4 and the Arc?

Hi - I’ve just installed the Arc on HDMI3 (Arc) on my Sony KD77a1  I’ve fired up a film on the AppleTV - The film is Coded with Dolby Atmos - and yet I’m not convinced I’m actually getting Dolby Atmos. When I look into the system settings it says Stereo 2.0 on the Arc and nothing on the Surrounds (Play:3 and Sub) - and is expect that to say Dolby Atmos… I’ve checked the HDMI settings on the Sony TV - all looks fine. Would I expect to see Dolby Atmos on the Sonos System Info if all was working?    I know this product is super new - but does anybody have any pointers as to what might be wrong?

I have Sonos set up through the house, various ones, a connect hooked up to an AV reciever and a Sonos amp in the dining room driving a pair of Tannoy DC6T SE floorstanding speakers. Im having problem with the sound from the amp. Im getting clarity in the mids and highs, however the bass response is dissapointing. It sounds muddy with no definition at all. Certain low frequencies override others and seem to be clashing. I replaced the amp with the AV receiver and it sounds good. When moving the sonos amp to drive a set of kefs in the living room im getting the same problem, lack of clarity in bass and an overall disappointing sound.   The DC6T SEs are wired using 4 core cable, 4 wires from each output on the sonos amp to LF terminals and HF terminals on each speaker. I am streaming tidal, deezer and spotify from the Sonos app, and have also tried using an external dac into the line in using audirvana on mac. No luck on anything. I recently moved into a house that has several Sonos Connects. How do I figure out what “generation” they are?   I’m asking because I’m trying to determine if my products are compatible with the just-released software updates.

First Post, hope you can help. I have a Sonos ARC on order at the moment, does anybody know the length of the power cable and the HDMI cable supplied please, and also more importantly if the HDMI cable is a high speed one able to cope with EARC inputs and higher bandwidth? Don't fancy installing cables and then having to replace so any guidance would be good. Thanks in Advance

I received my Arc yesterday and initial impressions are...poor. The bass performance is much, much worse than even the $150 vizio soundbar it replaces (and worse than every other Sonos product I own). The woofers sound like they are bottoming out and rattling during any music or TV that has even a slight amount of bass. Has anyone else noticed the same? I am not sure if this is a possible hardware defect or whether all Arcs exhibit this behavior.  Try, for instance, watching the opening credits from “Dirty Money” on Netflix. It’s theme song is by Run the Jewels and it sounds atrocious on the Arc. Almost as if the woofers are being asked to play far beyond their capabilities (despite the volume at 35-40% and the Bass EQ being flat). I sincerely hope mine is defective and that this isn’t just the performance we should expect from the Arc.   Thanks

When you have traded up your Leacy product, and the credit is on your account. If you then sell the device and the new owner adds it on their system/account , dues the credit stay on your account or transfer to them? 

Hi, Hopefully you can help out - I’ve searched high and low for an answer but can’t find it.  I have a number of Sonos speakers dotted around 5 rooms of the house (Play:1’s and Play:5’s). I’m seriously considering buying the Sonos Home cinema setup with new Arc, Sub and 2 surrounds but want to know something first. Will it allow me to: Watching for example a concert on YouTube through the TV and Home cinema setup, can I ‘group’ other rooms with the HomeCinema setup to hear that music in sync around the house?  And similarly, if listening to music in some of my 5 existing rooms, can i also select the HomeCinema setup and hear the music from that as well? Apparently we are getting a brand new app and OS for our Sonos kit later this year. Does it mean Playbar will eventually get DTS support?

After downloading and installing today’s new app release, every time I launch the app it asks me to turn on Bluetooth to access accessories, but I don’t understand why since none of my Sonos speakers have Bluetooth. If I turn it on the banner goes away in future launches, but if I turn off Bluetooth, it again asks for me to turn it on during launch.  This is annoying and I don’t know why it needs Bluetooth turned on, does anyone know why this is happening? Btw the version is 11.1

My iPad and iPhone auto upgraded to S1 Controller and went to play music and no speakers found. Tried to rejoin system and got repeated message system not found. Reset Play:1 device and tried to join to the system, no luck. On hard reset Play:1 went through setup for network, but then failed on making a system at the chime, even though it joined the network fine. All speakers still on the same network and data transmits are going back and forth. Just cant get any of them to join a new or existing system. I don’t want to go resetting my sound bar etc in case I cant get it back. Any ideas appreciated.

Updated entire system to S2. All went very smoothly as usual with Sonos.  Should I now uninstall the redundant S1 controller? 

With S2 out in the wild, I was wondering if anyone can test if local control with UPNP still works before I take the plunge (since I am unsure if I can rollback).   I use Sonos with my home automation setup and it relies on the UPNP API not the cloud API.    

I have a number of Sonos devices, some legacy some ‘modern’. with the introduction of S2, can I select which of my newer devices to move over to the S2 app? I have a legacy connect that I usually group with an S2 compatible Play3 - To enable me to continue to group these I want to keep both on S1, while moving the other kit over to S2.

Hi, I have 3 speakers connect to my Sonos AMP; (I forgot to add the single BluCube speaker is wired to both left + right channels of the amp.) 2 x Peavey WS-82T wall speakers: 150w max + 8ohms 1 x BluCube BCK80 ceiling speaker: 150w max + 8ohms When i turn the volume up high the amp is faulting (slow flash orange and white). The manual says the AMP can power 2 sets of speakers with 8ohms resistance, so any ideas what the problem is?

EDIT: My indexing has just finished with an error saying there’s not enough space. So I guess that question has been answered. A real shame, as backwards-compatibility was often the reason given for not increasing the index size.   OK, S2 has now hit the streets and the question that’s been on everyone’s lips (well, mine and and maybe a couple of other people!) is… Has the 65K track limit been increased now? Ever since Sonos removed the http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1400/status/tracks_summary screen it’s been impossible for users to see their index size without going through support. I’m currently reindexing mine to see, but it’s kinda tricky to spot missing tracks when the collection is that large!  

I’m wondering if there will be desktop controller versions (macOS, Windows) of the S2 app, or just mobile controllers. Has any information been released about this?

Anyone else finding the iOS app consistently needing to be killed and restarted just to stay connected?  

I keep seeing the crossfade option when messing around the settings on the Sonos App.  What exactly does it do and when do I use it?

I know different versions of this question have already been asked, but I wanted to ask the community about my specific situation. I pre-ordered the Arc 5.1 system which I plan to plug into a Samsung J6300 (2015, HDMI ARC only) TV which streams video from an Apple TV HD (non-4K). The user manual for my TV says it supports Dolby Digital Plus through ARC. Can you presume what level of audio will be playing through my home theater setup?   EDIT: for clarification, will the Arc be playing Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, or just Dolby Digital 5.1?

How does an ARC + 2 Play 1’s compare to a traditional 5.1 setup? My TV’s HDMI-ARC  does not support Dolby ATMOS, so I am limited to Dolby Digital.

Hi. I froze my Sonos system at 8.4 in order to preserve my CR100’s. I am about to buy 2 second hand ZP120’s to add to the system. I suspect that I can only link them if my entire system is running the same firmware, and the ones I am going to purchase are running the latest firmware. I’ve read that I need to do a factory reset on the new units then add them as new units. I also know that updating the existing units will brick the CR100s. The question is: What will happen to my Sonos playlists during the update process - will they be preserved?

How do i connect  my Sonos One to  VIZIO TV….   I just got my Sonos and i’m not good on how to use it . I download a few apps such as Amazon Alexa, Amazon Sonos and Sonos….
