Hi, I bought a single Sonos 5.  I read somewhere that when placed horizontally, it automatically detects and adjusts the way the speakers project the stereo mix -- something like there will be a wider stereo spread.  Is this true, does the speaker “know” it’s horizontal?  Or is it just a wider “spread” because the drivers and now aligned horizontally?

In youtube, someone mentioned that: “Until last night I wasn't hearing much from the Atmos effect, but now I am. I had to move my listening position forward 6 inches then the bar forward 6 inches. I then used the brown spacers (second from the thickest) under the rear of the bar, Atmos effects kicked in. The bubble for the effects seems rather narrow. I am now sitting 9 feet from the bar. 8 feet is where the top firing speakers are the strongest. I just can't justify shrinking the room another foot .”   It seems, as I always thought, that due to the fixed angle of the upward firing woffers, there must be a sweet spot for the maximum height effect.   Where is that sweet spot?    I tried to move my hearing position closer and further to/from the Arc, but not able to notice appreciable difference. after many hours splitting my S1 from my S2 system and getting the apps to work on my phone I now need the apps to work on my wife’s phone. I downloaded them & expected all the info to be there having logged into my account. it looks like I have to set up the whole system again on my wife’s app. surely there has to be a simple solution to this?

I just installed my Sonos Arc with Sonos Sub and 2 rear Sonos One SL. I hardwired the Sonos Arc to my Eero router. When I disable Wi-Fi on my Arc setting the Sonos Sub and Sonos one SL will stop working. For them to work all in sync the WiFi has to be enabled. Why did Sonos put and Ethernet connection if it will only work off WiFi. Or do I have to do disable the WiFi on sub and one also to work.. Sub and the Sonos one are not hard wired..  Anyone run into this problem? 

Hi,   Can someone please attach a picture of their Sub gen 3 power cord?   My preorder arrived with a L shaped connection (Play:1) and Sonos has sent me the wrong power cord again (Playbar).   My ARC power cord fits perfectly and imagine that the SUB Gen 3 Power cord should be something similar,   Thanks  

Just bought a Sonos Move - arrived yesterday, followed the instructions and set up the device without any major problems. Downloaded the Sonos app (version 2) then downloaded the Amazon Alexa App. Set up TuneIn, set up Voice Control and before you know it I was playing music from the MOVE without any problems - took it into the garden 50 yards from the house (wall is solid stone) but no issues picking up WIfi - really impressive However…… Since I bought the device in France and live in France the device is set up in French so Alexa responds in French, but the setup said I would be able to change the language in the Sonos App. So, I looked up question in the community - followed the instructions but came unstuck because the app does not give me a language option. I then tried to change the language in Alexa and I get the same problem - I cannot change the language. I have looked up several videos on Youtube but I cannot find the screens they refer to - both for Sonos and Alexa - NO LAN

I wish to purchase the Sonos Arc, would they take the money immediately for back ordered products or when item is in stock and despatched?     Thanks

OK,  Followed directions, downloaded S1 and S2.  Ran S2 and it says install S1 and run it to remove gen 1 devices from the system. Go to system tools , and there is no “Remove Products” button!!  All there is are System Compatibility link and a System Management “Trade Up” link.  So how do I remove products so I can run S2??? Do I need to update my system first?  When I check for updates, there is a new update.    

So I’ve updated my Sonos speakers to work with the new S2 app. Once I did my playbar stopped working. I’ve reset it and tried adding it back to my account with no luck. It will play audio but doesn’t ever get added back into the app. I tried adding it through the S1 and it said I need to use the S2 app. When I try adding it back to my account it fails during the connection phase. Any help would be appreciated!

Before I updated to S2, S1 was playing my 24-bit FLAC files but up to 48KHz sample rate. It won’t play anything above this. S1 was not meant to play anything above CD quality 16bit. When I heard that S2 will be playing Hi-Res I thought it will play all Hi Res tracks up to 24/192KHz I thought finally. So S1 was downgrading the track quality before it plays? Also any tracks higher than 24/48 it says it cannot play. Now with S2 - there is no change as yet. It still plays up to 24/48 and I presume is downgrading the tracks. Does S2 have the capability to play Hi-Res tracks? Or is this feature coming soon? Thanks.    

I’ve just purchased a SONOS move, a couple of queries. 1. What is the recomended way to leave the MOVE when not in use and to preserve the battery? Power on, stored on the recharging ring switched on. Power off, stored on the recharging ring switched off. Some other combination.? 2. This is the first SONOS speaker I have purchased with voice activation. Is there any way the Move can be used to control my other SONOS speakers (6x SONOS ONE first gen and 1x Play bar) via the APP?

Unable to import all my previous iTunes playlists into Sonos Imported Playlist. I have read a great deal about how to do this, so please do not direct me to this information, I need info of what to do when it does not work.  I have imported some playlist from My Music Library location but are missing some playlists. I have also in Apple Music exported Playlists to a .m3u file then directed Sonos to that file in Sonos’s Controller on my Apple Mac not forgetting to Update the Music Library. Nothing works in that I do not see all the playlists that I see in Apple Music. I have restarted the Sonos app and the MAC computer, still no joy. Any further relevent help would be much appreciated. I bought a Connect:Amp in 2019. It will only be usable in an S2 system if it is Gen2. Sonos documentation states “Not sure if your product is Gen 1, Gen 2, or Gen 3? Check the System section of your Sonos account page to find out if your products are compatible with S2.” but having done this there is no reference in my “System” record as to the Generation on my Connect:Amp. Having been caught out by a Sonos App update that forced me to buy a new android tablet already I am nervous about applying the Sonos S2 app to my system until I can ascertain I could still use my Connect:Amp with my beam and 2x Play One system, The serial number is C100 1810C *-*-*-*-*-*-E If it is an incompatible Generation 1 model I would like Sonos to explain why it was sold to me new, from Richer Sounds, only a year ago. My current LG C9 tv software has been upgraded to allow multichannel PCM passthrough via eARC HDMI. Now this has been activated, my Apple TV audio is not compatible with the ARC… I know it has been suggested a software update is coming, but do we have a timeline for this?    I have sent multiple emails to Sonos regarding this, as if this update isn’t going to be rolled out (like the previous DTS promise on the playbar) I want to return the ARC before the return period. Hence I need a solid answer and not just a maybe. I would prefer to save the money and slowly diverge from Sonos, as this is yet another huge oversight. May need to start thinking of another home audio solution. 

Hi Im interested in purchasing the new Sonos ARC, but my TV stand is slightly too short, can anyone tell me the distance between the feet under the speaker, as Im hoping it would still support it ok but with a slight overhang.   Also does anyone know if you backorder the ARC do Sonos take money immediately or when item is despatched.   Thank you

What are those five channels? Where do the height channels fit in there?

Will the harmony hub continue to function if i upgrade to S2, or will it stop to function? I do not want to upgrade if my harmony remote can no longer controll it?

I do not want to upgrade to the S2 software but the notification that it is now available remains on the screen blocking all access to the rest of the S1 software. Sonos is now completely inaccessible thanks to the notification that will not allow the rest of the software to be accessed. How do I get rid of this annoying notification?

I am both an avid Sonos (hardware) fan and also a Control4 user who loves to program in Composer. I'm wondering how / where I can submit feature requests to re-enable a VERY important feature in the Sonos API. And that is... the ability to replace the queue when we are calling different playlists in programming. If Playlist A is currently in the queue, and I don't manually go into the sonos app and clear the queue first, when I call Playlist B in programming (from a custom button, voice control, etc) it will MERGE Playlist B randomly into the queue alongside Playlist A's songs. I understand that this topic has been hotly debated for some time on what the DEFAULT handling of the situation should be. And, although I still disagree that the majority of people would ever want to merge playlists into a queue by default... I do respect the decision by the devs to be diligent in keeping the default behavior consistent. However, i do not understand why you would REMOVE the ability to cle

How do I identify if I have gen1 or gen2 devices to check compatibility  with S2. Is there any HW version guide or any way to check ?    ps;  it’s sad. That Sonos didn’t provide any comprehensive  guide

This station can no longer be played on Sonos via Tunein or Sonos Radio. Why?

How can I double check that my particular Connect devices are in fact classified as "modern" and will still be supported?  (After all the furore, I was surprised to see on my Sonos account that they are listed as “modern”. Is this actually the case?) Is there anywhere on the Sonos site that states definitively which build / serial numbers make the cut (other than the vague “pre vs post 2015” - I can’t remember exactly when I bought my first Connect)?  Bit nail biting, this move towards obsolescence. Related question... Is this process of discontinuing support for legacy items likely to “creep” (will any devices still supported after May 2020 be subject to another later cut)?  Thanks...

I’ve always enjoyed and got on well with my Sonos equipment, which I would hope as I’ve invested a lot of money in it over the last 6 years. However, more recently, almost every time I use the app, it fails to pick up multiple speakers (I have 7 speakers and 1 Playbar in 5 rooms) until eventually they appear. I’m also a bit fed up with the connection dropping regularly
