Can I have my Sonos beam to the right of my tv?

So as I understand the new ducking possibilies which rolled out some months ago, all speakers within an Alexa group should duck. I have the following speakers: 1x Play One SL stereo pair 1x Play:5 stereo pair 1x Play One 1x Echo Dot 2nd Gen All three Sonos are in a group, and also selected as “Preferred Speaker” The Sonos One and the Echo Dot are selected as Alexa enabled devices.   When I talk to the Dot all speakers duck, when I talk to the Sonos One only the Sonos One ducks? That does not seem right. Due to another bug i have undergone a full factory reset of all speakers, so it probably is an issue everyone is having? Can anyone confirm?

will a beam + gen 1 connect amp and a sub still work together as a 5.1 after the changes in may?  i can’t tell based off the article if it’s just grouping the speakers that won’t work or if using a connect amp as surrounds with a beam or playbar won’t work as well.

I have read many posts but not found a definitive answer! We currently have a simple, no amp turntable and a sonos sound bar/beam. Investing in one of (no idea which) Sonos amp to connect this vinyl player seems very expensive. Can anyone confirm that if we buy the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable That we would NOT need to buy any other device to connect the turntable to the sound bar?    

Hello, i am gonna extend my Sonos system with outdoor speakers and amp. From what i see it have to be installed with cabel between amp and the speakers ..?is the amp waterproof then ao we can leave it on the yard ?  

I have a ZP100. I was able to control from my iPhone and Android devices using the S1 app. Those devices no longer work and the S1 App doesn't let me "Connect to an existing system". In fact, the buttons that are illustrated in the app do not match those of the ZP100, but I have completed updates in the past that required holding in the correct sequence and I attempted that sequence with no luck. When I Iog into the Sonos site, my device is connected. So I downloaded the Windows app and I am able to connect and play as normal. Up until a few days ago, I was also able to play using the Android device and a week ago the IOS device. Now I am limited to just the windows app. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’m working from home during the Covid season. Wondering Sonos speaker (w/ microphone) can be used to pair with my PC via bluetooth and support Microsoft Teams meeting? I saw Sonos Move has microphone associated with it. Anyone ever used the speaker that way?  Thanks much.

I’ve got a Sonos Port setup with my Onkyo 585.  This is a Works With Sonos reciever. Issue 1: When I go to the “Works With Sonos” setting on the Onkyo, it says “No Sonos Connect Found”.  I don’t have a Connect, I have a Port.  Both the Onkyo and the Port are on the same WiFi network.  How do I get my Onkyo to recognize my Port? Issue 2:  When I play something through the Port, I can’t adjust the volume on the Onkyo.  When i put the setting on Variable I get no sound.  When i put the setting on Fixed, i get sound through the Onkyo, but it’s fixed at a setting of 51 (that i set) but i can’t adjust it with the Onkyo knob or remote.  How can I adjust the volume when using the Port? Thanks!

My new surrounds sound great with Movies, however they produce no sound when streaming from Youtube, Pandora, or Google Play Music. I have not been able to find a work around. Any suggestions? My Setup:Sonos ArcSonos Sub (Gen 2) Sonos OneSonos One SL ​​​​​​​

Hi,I've just plugged my ethernet cable into the Arc and disabled the WiFi on the Arc. It has now bumped my Sub and 2 One Sl's from the grouping. It is having problems reconnecting. My question is - is it not possible to run the Arc on Ethernet whilst the rest of the grouping runs on WiFi?Thanks in advance.

I removed Apple Music from the Sonos app.  However when I attempted to add it again it takes me to the Apple Music Library screen with no prompt to continue linking it to Sonos. 

Hello guys, I wanted to upgrade to the latest S2 app but I couldn’t get any confirmation if all me devices are compatible with it.From the support page you can see the compatible devices but we only got names and it really confuse when you got connect/amp/gen1/gen2 etc (no pictures or others information). In my case I got 4 Play:1, 1 Playbar, 1 One SL and a Connect.I guess everything is okay except the Connect device that I cannot get any confirmation if okay or not.From the website https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4786?language=eng only the connect Gen2 is compatibly but how can I know if my is a Gen2? I have search on other topics and I don’t get requested confirmation:on the web portal I see all my devices but I don’t have any text legacy or modern juste online and serial number. on the sonos app you don’t have any Gen1 or Gen2 text. when I do “Check compabitility to S2” on the sonos app it directly asks me to update with the page “are you ready to go to S2”. Something rather strange. I have to turn up the volume via remote on the TV before the PVR volume control  will work. On turning off and on the volume on the TV resets itself to 0 without the slider bar showing it. meaning I run out of slider to get the volume to work at all. Might be in the TV settings. I have ARC and speakers turned off as only relates to HDMI connection > audio is of ( makes no difference anyway) and optical output set to RAW. Weird huh?. Any thoughts ? - would really like to solve this.Thanks in advance. Mike 

My first Sonos product was a Playbar which at the time required the Bridge. All subsequent products I’v purchased are Sonos 2 compatible and I want to migrate to that. The list of my products show only the Bridge has a warning that Sonos 1 is required. Am I correct then is concluding that my Playbar no longer needs the Bridge to work with my system and I can disconnect the Bridge. I want to use my Playbar occasionally as part of a whole house group and it seems if the Playbar requires the Bridge that won’t be an option and that will now be a stand alone component.

Hi, so this may have been answered before but I couldn’t find it, so apologies - also, all this codec stuff is confusing as hell.Basically, I have a decent amount of Blu-rays and even some 4K Blu-rays that are encoded in DTS/DTS-HD. I have a Sony UBP-X700 player connected to LG C9 Via HDMI, LG C9 connected to Sonos Arc (+sub+one sl surrounds) via hdmi using eArc connection on the LG.As it stands, the only way to get sound from DTS discs is to set the TV to output PCM and that results in basic 2.0 stereo (annoying). I understand LG C9 has an available update that will output multichannel PCM, but the Arc doesn’t currently support this. So I haven’t yet updated the tv.So the questions are: if Sonos releases an update to support multi PCM, will this solve all my problems and the DTS will be converted by the LG to multi PCM and give me surround sound?alternatively, if Sonos don’t provide the update, or it wouldnt actually work like that… is there another solution for those particular discs

I posted this in another thread, and saw others mentioning the same thing, but it was marked as an "answered" question, so I'll post it here as well.   Yesterday, my Move was sitting on its base (inside, temperature not hot) all day, power off. Went to use it last night and all that is happening is a constantly flashing orange battery light.  No response when I long press the power button. Let it sit overnight on the charger, still nothing.  The same thing happened a few weeks ago and I happened to stumble across something that worked online (it involved the wifi/BT button), but can't find that info now. I also was never able to find the device to complete the app setup but I never bothered to keep trying at the time. I will call on Monday, but am really annoyed that I can't use this expensive speaker all weekend.

I’ve tried so many different groups and settings and preferred speaker choices and this doesn’t seem to be possible.    I have an Echo, and an echo dot. I also have a Sonos beam with a sub and 2 play 1’s for surround. When I added Alexa third party to my Sonos app, I’m able to use Alexa on my Sonos beam which is great! However, when I create a group to include Sonos and the 2 Alexa devices I have, I can only choose the Alexa devices to play together OR just the Sonos devices. I can’t choose all of them so they ALL play music everywhere.   Does anyone know if this is possible?! Please advise😊

Hi everyone,  Using a Sonos Play 1 and a Mac, I’m unable to add folders to the Music Library.   The error is: Sonos was unable to add the music folder Access to the shared folder "//computer/folder" is denied - check the username and/or password   I’ve tried the password multiple times - that’s not the problem. I’ve also tried to close and reopen the Sonos program on the computer - the issue persists.    Does anyone have an idea what might resolve this? I searched the forum and found references to guides that only linked to the general support page - it appears the database has shifted and the links have broken. 

Have read that inserting the IP of one component into this url would pull up the Sonos network matrix:http://xxx.xxx.xx.xxx:1400/support/reviewMy interest in the network matrix is to inspect for interference and/or optimize the connection in the Sonos network.All the IP addresses of my components have the format: 10.x.x.xx.   I see the IP addresses in the Netgear Orbi AX6000 app that displays the components hardwired to router.  In my Sonos system, a Bridge is hardwire connected to the router.   Router is a ISP-supplied glass fiber modem + router.Question:  How can I generate the network matrix without the public IP addresses like 192. or 168. etc?Appreciate the advice!

I am using my Sonos Beam on wifi channel 11 (Wireless router is on channel 1). Recently my Playstation PS4 Controllers started experience lag when I was using the Beam. Thinking it was wireless interference I connected the Beam to ethernet directly to my router and disabled the wifi but still was having this issue. The only time the issue goes away is when I disconnect the HDMI Arc from the Beam. As soon as i connect the HDMI Arc back to the Beam the PS4 controllers start lagging. Any suggestions?

After hours of movie watching , the ARC sound  just Cuts out…. When I shut the tv off and on again the sound comes back on… I have a top of the line Samsung QP82-R and it is not the issue. What’s up with this ARC and all the posts same as mine of sound suddenly going mute…??????

I have a Sonos Beam and 2 Sonos one speakers of which I would like to attach an android TV box to my Samsung 50” series 8 smart TV and receive the sound through the Sonos Beam. Currently the android tv box that I have attached to my tv is connected by HDMI cable. When trying to play through the android box the sound reverts to tv speakers rather than the Sonos beam. If I were to purchase a new android box with optical connection port and connect it to my tv with an optical cable Would this allow the sound to come through my Sonos Beam?your advice would be very much appreciated.cheersGraham

After having my 2014 S1 bridge and connect disconnected from my stereo system for about a year I recently reconnected them.  I’m not sure if I have a problem or not.  According to the Sonos LED lights web page a flashing green light means you have a product ready to be set up.  After reconnecting the bridge to my router and then connecting the connect to my stereo system and then opening the Sonos app on my iPhone everything seems to work fine.  BUT I have a blinking green light on the top of the bridge the blinks every couple of seconds continually.   I don’t remember that happening before and my question is basically should I be concerned about the blinking light as everything seems to work? is there any way to stop it from blinking? Thanks

The green mute light will not go off on my Sonos One speakers. The speakers are not operating.The sub and play bar are OK. Turned off/on the power to the Ones. When reconnected with the wi-fi, the light went white for just a second, then went back to green. ??????

Hi. I’ve pre-ordered a Arc Surround Sound package and have a TV on the way which uses the Samsung One Connect box. I’d like to add a record player into this setup but... Am I right to think I have to buy a Sonos Amp in order to connect my turntable to Sonos? Or can the Arc accept direct input from a turntable like the Play5 can? (I assume a Sonos Port is no good because I don’t have a separate amp). I’d like to locate the record player on a sideboard well away from the TV. The TV runs all it’s connections into a One Connect box and so the Arc (I think) will physically connect to that. Do I connect my Sonos Amp to the Samsung One Connect box as well - or directly to the Arc speaker? (will the Arc have enough ports to simultaneously have cables connecting from the One Connect box and the Sonos Port?). Thanks to anyone that knows!
