Moved to a new WiFi Router, and my Sonos Roam won’t play nice with it. I’ve tried to set it up about four times, each time cycling through the setup/troubleshooting options (Make sure the network matches my device, check the password, reboot the Roam, reboot the router, etc.), and occasionally rebooting my device (iPhone), and it’s still not working. The Wifi comes with 2.4Ghz and 5Ghzs options - The Roam only sees the latter, and even when my device’s WiFi settings are is switched to that one, it’s still not having it. I’m very tired - Any help is appreciated!!
I have an all Wi-Fi setup for my TV and want to connect the same setup temporarily to my projector but It only has one HDMI port and doesn’t have AirPlay audio support, however it does have Bluetooth support. So therefore my question is;Will adding a Sonos Roam to the setup allow me to make my current setup work with my TV as normal whilst also adding the option of Bluetooth connectivity to my projector?
My Sonos Roam has severe configuration issues. When it shuts down, not standby, and I wait for couple hours, it is back in factory defaults, green LED and needs to be linked again. This happened before occasionaly once a month, now it happens daily. I have good wifi coverage, client steering disabled, and IP address fixed. Nothing helps. The most anoying point is that almost every time I want to use bluetooth it has lost the config snd I must go back to the home network to couple again. Total useless device when on vacation. Is there a way I can avoid losing the config or is it just broken?Cheers
We have sonos one at our home. We also have sonos one and a move at out lake house which is about an hour away. Both systems are connected to wifi. The wifi names and passwords are the same at both houses, but are two different networks. While at our home, the move at the lake has been randomly connecting. I can see it connected on the spotify app, but there is no option to turn it off in the sonos app - I can only see the sonos speakers available at our home. I turn it off through the spotify app, but it constantly reconnects.I know the music is turning on and off through the move at the lake house because our cameras are catching it. How can I turn off the move from our house? Thanks!
Sorry if this has been asked before and I missed it in my search I tried connecting my ROAM SL to charge through my PC computer USB4 port.I am getting the “not charging properly” notificationI understand that USB4 supports well over the specified 10W Does the ROAM SL support USB Power Delivery (USB4 PD)? Thanks to anyone who has tried and had success? S
I have a Sonos Roam but it’s constantly giving us trouble. Right now I can see it in the app, but it says it’s in “Sleep Mode”, while when I press the play-button on the device itself it just starts playing. What’s more, when I hold the power button on the Roam for a few seconds, the light will turn off and in the app it’ll change to “Turned Off”. Clearly there’s some level of communication between the Roam, the servers and the app, but when I turn the roam back on, it’ll keep saying it’s turned off. That is, until I short-press the power button on the device, at which point it’ll change to “Sleep mode”. I can’t get it to become active in the app so I can control it.Anyone able to shed light on what else I can try to get this thing to work again?
I am using my sonos S.L. to play white noise in the room while on vacation. The speaker is connected to my phone with a Bluetooth connection and every night the sonos turns off at 5 am for no reason. I then have to unplug it and replug it back in and it turns on and begins to work. This doesn’t seem to be a normal thing. Any help would be appreciated.
Il mio Sonos Move è rimasto bloccato con la spia del microfono accesa e non si riesce più ad accendere e tantomeno a spegnere. E’ sparito dall’applicazione del mio Iphone dopo essere passato in Sospensione. Cosa posso fare?
Hi, I’m having a very strange issue with my Sonos move. The speaker will be working just fine and then out of the blue it appears to be no longer part of my system. It has never removed itself while it was playing, but one time the battery died, when I put it back on the charge my app asked me if I wanted to “add move” to my system. As if it was brand new. This also happens when I don’t use my Sonos system for a few days. I go to play music and the Move is the only speaker that is not playing and the app sees it as new again and wants me to add it. The second part of the problem comes in when I try to add it back to the system. The speaker plays it’s chime and the phone hears it but when I press the join button, nothing happens. I’ve tried multiple times. The only way to get the speaker to rejoin my network and app is to do a factory reset. After this, I can join it up and use it for a few days. This has happened 3 or 4 times now and is VERY annoying. Please help.
My roam won’t turn on. I plug it in and it’ll turn on. App shows the battery is 100% charged. This is the most buggy Sonos product I’ve ever owned. Is there a way to get rid of this issue?
Cant connect, only getting a white colour appearing, Roam not showing up as a device in Android when next to itOh and the App is useless BTW bit will keep product if can Bluetooth it !
I’m searching best quality speakers which are give feel impressive sound without echo.
I don't understand why the Roam won't charge with a 5V/1A power supply. I know Sonos says it doesn't have enough power but that is not a sufficient answer. as long as a charger has a higher Voltage capacity than the battery, the battery can be charged. The Amp rating of the Power Supply just determines how fast the battery will be charged. For Example: If I use a 5V/1 amp power supply to charge the Roam with a 5000mAh battery and required charge voltage of 4.2V5Vx1amp=5W5W/4.2V=1.19Amp5000mAh/1.19Amp=4.2 Hours (Time required to Charge the Roam) So I understand that a 1Amp charger will take long but not charge the battery doesn't make sense. My only conclusion is that Sonos programmed the built in Charger in the Roam that it will only allow charge if the charger receives more than 1 amp of current. I can understand this out of a User friendly perspective to not allow chargers that will be slow so that people who can't read a label or do Math not get frustrated with a slow charge. But
Hi again comunity, I hope you can help me out I made a previous post about the behavior of my Sonos Roam and things where improved, but unfortunately, My Sonos Roam now became so unreliable and so unstable again, since I installed the 14.19 update. The music keeps cutting out using Bluetooth and Airplay, and now after reinstalling 14.19 update the Bluetooth control is not working properly: When my Roam is in Bluetooth mode, I can’t disconnect it using the back button, it gets stuck in the solid Blue light and keeps paired with my iPhone, so, I have to go to my phone and disconnect it manually. Factory reset didn’t work, and here in Mexico Tech support is so unhelpful, it’s a hustle to get an efective solution because 1. They keep telling me that I’m not pressing correctly the button and it’s Wireless interference, Really? First of all, I perfectly know how to pair it and disconnect it from Bluetooth, Well, I made a Speed test and the page tells me that I have 220.37 Mbps, it sounds r
I have recently changed my ISP. I am going away on holiday next week and have dusted off my Roam which was so frustrating on my trip to NZ at Christmas where it would not connect to the wifi, it also at one stage emitted a loud noise like an alarm. The power button does not work as directed and is inconsistent. When I returned from NZ I tried to send it back but one of their operator convinced me to stick with it. I have note really used it until now and it does not register on my phone. It will also not factory reset by following the instructions. When I hold the pause/play button and switch the Roam and continue to hold the pause/play, it goes from white to blue and not flashing white/orange. Therefore no factory reset. My Sonos app cannot find my Roam even though it is connected to my iPhones bluetooth. This is so frustrating and at this stage I will never buy another Sonos product ever again.
Can the Audio-Technica AT-LP3XBT turntable connect to the Sonos Move via Bluetooth?
Impossible de me connecter via le Bluetooth depuis le passage à la fibre.Le Roam n’est plus capté par l’ordinateur, ni nos téléphones portables alors que tout fonctionné bien en ADSL.une IDÉE ?
I’ve seen a few posts about leaving a Move on it’s charger, and I understand that will not harm the battery. I’m curious if that is in a powered off or sleep state, or in an on state, and if that makes a difference.I ask because if I’m going to leave it on the charger full time, I’d be inclined to leave it on to be used full time as well.I also have a Roam, but never considered this issue. Is its battery also safe in the same way as the Move? Thanks,BR
Yes, an other gripe as the Sonos Roam issues seem to be endless; This not only is related to Wifi, Even Bluetooth has instability issues, the music stops playing briefly every 5 to 20 minutes or so, sometimes sooner or sometimes later, but whatever it is, this is driving me nuts, enough to say that, indeed, it’s a very unrreliable product. Please, I mean… Please, I’m supplicating you to stop telling me that it’s either a network problem or an issue with my phone: First of all, I bought this pricey speaker without expecting that I should have to become a technician to use it properly and find out why it stops playing randomly or fails to play whenever I want to listen to music, I’m not a technissian to solve network problems, and you should consider it in these 10 months of exasperation that I’ve had with this speaker and no, a simple network reboot doesn’t make any difference, no idea why it keeps being recommended here in this forum as nothing seems to work.Second: as my title says,
The Roam has not worked properly since the first day. I be experienced every issue mentioned on this site. So disappointing, this stuff is not cheap and it has ruined my opinion of the company.
I see this question a lot in the community and I can’t believe this is still an issue in 2023! Expanded wifi networks is nothing new and why has Sonos not figured this out? I dumbed down my network to only have 1 AP up and forced it to 2.4GHZ but the Sonos Move REFUSES TO CONNECT TO WIFI! It is beyond frustrating. I use Aruba for my APs and have 6 connect amps on the same SSID that I am trying to connect to. Everything works great but the friggin’ Move doesn’t want to be a part of the system. It worked fine until I migrated all of my devices over to one SSID. Previously they were spread out on a few SSIDs and playing nicely. I factory reset this thing, made sure my controller/android app/ios app is on the same SSID but I still get no joy. Please help me so I don’t throw this thing in the street and beat it with a bat.
i checked the charging base, should there be a voltage on the pins? i my DVM does not see a dc or AC voltage.
Hi allFor the last few months I’ve had a constant issue with playing from my Google Pixel 6 Pro phone to my Roam via bluetooth. I regularly get the audio dropping, just for half a second, often once a track when playing, and I just can’t work out what the issue is. I mostly use MediaMonkey Android app as my main music player, but also often use Spotify and Qobuz and find it happens will all apps (ie I’m pretty sure it’s not a specific app issue). I have tried by resetting the wifi, mobile & Bluetooth settings on the Pixel 6 Pro, but after repairing with the Roam the problem is exactly the same. I’ve also tried shutting the Roam down and restarting it, but even if I get a few tracks play back glitch free the issue re-occurs after a while. Any ideas? It’s really frustrating! I use MediaMonkey on my phone and laptop as it’s the most flexible app to let me manage my local music in a way that no streaming services do, so don’t want to stop using it, and the only way to play from MediaMo
After loading my Roam for more than 24 jours i no longer can start it. It seems completely dead nomatter how i push the start button. what to do? is there some hidden feature that can ”restart” it?
