If I have two passive speakers with the sonos AMP (connected with HDMI ARC) on either side of my TV and a pair of Play 3’s in the back for surround. Is there anyway to mute the Play 3’s in the back when listening to music so I get a more regular stereo setup? I really want to have two passive speakers for stereo music listening and then use the same speakers as a part of a 4.0 surround system when watching TV/movies.Is this possible?

Hello Everyone, First time commenting on the board. Wanted to share what I’ve experienced with my Sonos Arc connected via ARC to a late 2018 Samsung QLED tv. All Dolby Atmos sound was via ARC/Dolby Digital Plus. I tested the following devices to see which had the best Dolby Atmos experience the past month.  Roku Ultra and Roku 4K+ were the best for my set up because it worked with the most streaming services. Received atmos sound on Roku Ultra and Roku 4K+ stick. Note, the Roku 4K+ stick marketing language isn’t clear about it receiving atmos but both devices do based on my experience with Netflix, Apple TV+, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime. Oddly, it appears that Roku’s overall marketing says Ultra is the only one that gets Atmos, but that’s not my experience.  Received atmos sound on Amazon Firestick 4k on less streaming apps/services than the Roku. I have a hub-based Harmony.  I want to be able to use my Harmony to control the volume on my ARC when listening to music from the Sonos App, ie, I want to start the music and if I’m cooking in the kitchen just bring my Harmony companion, instead of my tablet, to control the volume.Doing a device scan, the Harmony PC app finds the ARC, but only offers me two Panasonic and a Sokol model numbers.  I choose the first one (Sokol) and it added, then I configured the Play Music Activity to only use the ARC, but the Harmony does not control the volume. I cannot add the ARC manually.This seems very strange given that 1) it seems like the problem has existed ever since the ARC came out and 2) Harmony and Sonos say they play nice together.Any suggestions?

I have an Apple TV 4K, and I currently have a Sonos Beam. my LG TV supports eArc, but the TV does not support Dolby Atmos. If I get the Sonos Arc, will the Dolby Atmos sound from the Apple TV pass through the TV, or does the TV need to support Atmos for that to work? I only play video content from the Apple TV, so I’m not going to upgrade the TV.

I have a room that has a lot of background noise from a fan that kicks on and off (that cannot be eliminated). My TV is in the front of the room and I current have a Sonos Beam connected to the TV. The problem is you cannot hear the TV voices in the back of the room without turning the volume way up. The voices get drowned out by the fan. I’m trying to get a setup where I have a soundbar in the front of the room and another speaker in the back of the room both playing the same TV sound.My TV installers, BestBuy, and Walmart all indicated that I could do this by adding a Sonos One and setting it up as stereo. I have tried that and I cannot seem to get the Sonos One to play any of the TV sounds.Has anyone else figured out a solution to this? Is it possible to the bean and one to be in stereo (not surround)? Any recommendations?

Hello!I am trying to figure out how to run the ARC Sound bar and home theater set up completely wirelessly without losing the dolby atmos feature. The current situation is as followsWe just moved and brought our previous home theater components with us. The system consists of a sony vw 285ES projector.. marantz sr7008 av receiver... 110'' screen... KEF Q series 7.1 speakers/subwoofer... blurry player/ xbox/ apple tv... logitech universal remote.The new house has a smaller sheetrock wall/ceiling finished room in its basement with difficult access to run wires in the walls. So I am considering replacing the speakers in this set up with the ARC Sound bar and wireless home theater set up so that I dont have to run the speaker/ HDMI wires (other than one to the projector for video) but can still switch between the different components easily and can place my receiver towards the back of the room near the projector (shorter HDMI and can be hidden much better) but dont want to lose the atmos

Hi alli have the arc with 2 surrounds (sonos ones) and a sub (gen 2)will music play in Dolby atmos through all these or just the arc?also what about movies?

I recently installed a Beam and 2 ones as a tv surround system.I already had a Play 3.Have just added Google Assistant for voice control.All works great except I cannot turn my tv on and off with voice control.New Phillips 49 PUS with HDMI ARC port.Assume a setting somewhere but would appreciate advise.Thanks.

Hi, I just bought an Arc but it is not for a TV but for a videoprojector. Do you think it is possible to put it on the top ? I can’t put it on the bottom Here is a picture, in yellow the position for the Sonos Arc. Do you think it will be acceptable ? Nice day !  

Am I right I understanding that there is a long standing problem with LG TVs and the Playbar when it comes to lip sync?  The last time I checked on this there was no fix and LG were unlikely to do anything about it.  Does anyone had any recommendations on TVs that you are using that have good lip sync? 

We installed our new Sonos arc and connected it with the recommended HDMI arc connection and included cable to a newer Vizio TV (M507-G1) that is up-to-date on firmware. When watching TV the audio drops out, the volume controls from the TV and Roku remotes are sluggish and sporadic, the audio quality is terrible and the video occasionally will cut out. We hard-reset everything, disconnected, reconnected, chatted with Sonos support, worked through all of the recommendations, opened a support ticked, submitted diagnostics, and ended at a roadblock where the customer support agent suggested we have to find another TV to test it with as the only possible solution.  That’s not a realistic solution for us.  The unit does work fine with streaming music and with the optical cable connection, but obviously this is not ideal or really an acceptable downgrade for a premium product that is named for the connection it is supposed to function with. Hi, I am purchasing a new LG G1 and have a setup that connects in ceiling speakers to a G1 connect:amp. From my research is it correct that there is now way of passing the HDMI signal from the TV to the connect:amp. Is there any solution using the G1 device or is the only way to connect through a new AMP and HDMI connection?

Does the Arc switch off when the tv switches off and how can you tell?,the lights don’t alter,the only time it does is when on mute

Hi All, Has anyone experienced issues with e-Arc compatibility on their new Samsung Frame 2021 model LS03A model TV’s?Do we still have issues with sound cutting in and out? 

My system is setup on a 2021 LG 77CX - using hdmi e-arc input & hard wired to Wi-Fi. The system was set up with true play and seem to have worked as designed. when watching movies thru Netflix/prime tv including Dolby digital rarely if ever do I hear sound effects from the two rear speakers. any suggestions?

Hi all,I have a Sonos ARC, Sub(GEN 3), and One SLs setup for my living. When I added my One SLs as surrounds this week, I noticed that the two upfiring drivers from the ARC were moved to the One SLs when testing with Dolby Atmos 5.1.2. file (so no sounds from upfiring speakers). Besides, I had also tested with some Atmos movies from Netflix and Disney+ and confirmed the same. Moreover, I can't hear any difference by adjusting the height level while playing the Dolby Atmos test file.  If you have a similar setup as mine, do you experience the same or it is just me? P.S. My Samsung TV has no Dolby Atmos support (ARC HDMI port only) but I am able to stream Dolby Atmos from Shield TV cuz SONOS apps shows (DD+) Dolby Atmos on About My System.

so im connected the arc to the only Arc HDMI on Samsung  Q80r, its not 2.1..Series X will give error when putting sound to bitstream and selecting Atmos or dTS-X, says not supported.. end of story.. I can however get Atmos direct from built in apps . Netflix using DD+...do I have a chance or do I need new 2.1 TV? So I can't even use the Xbox same way- have it output Atmos via DD+ lossy? should I go Samsung q950a, I had the. q90r Soundbar and stability and problem wise it was horrible , at least the Sonos works when tv is on...Thank you

I have the Beam working via HDMI on my TV and when I switch in my headphones to connect to the TV via Bluetooth, it works initially and TV says disconnecting Anynet+ device (the Beam) but then it seems to immediately reconnect the Beam and so not allowing me to switch to the Bluetooth headphones. Any ideas on how to get this working without having to switch Anynet off and on in the menu all the time? My Samsung is a 2015 UHD model.

Hi. I’m new to Sonos. I was looking forward to playing Bbc iPlayer UHD content with Dolby atmos. However it seems that iPlayer only sends out pcm stereo stream?

Hello all,I have a Sound Blaster Z se that has an optical out that is connected to a Z90. Although I can get music from Pandora, no option for a line in signal is available within the sonos software. No PC sounds can be head .Is there something that needs to be changed for the line in to use an optical signal?  

I’m new to Sonos and very much looking forward to try out my Sub Gen 3 and my Arc once my new place is finished. Currently having craftsmen doing some work before I can move in.First, I planned to have the Arc standing on a media bench but then I started thinking if I maybe should mount it on the wall instead. So I bought the Sonos Arc wall mount.Then I found some information about the sound being changed if you mount it to the wall using the original Sonos wall mount for the Arc. Where the Arc will sense it’s mounted to the wall via a magnet built-in into the Sonos wall mount. Where the sound (primarily the base as I understand it) will be less.Whether this is something you really want seems to be different depending on who you ask.I also bought a 3rd party wall mount for the Arc from Flexson since I have a white Arc but wasn’t able to find the original Sonos Arc wall mount in white. Only black. Not even sure if there is a white version of the original Sonos Arc wall mount?Also not su

Hi all,I’ve been dealing with this issue for about a year and just now got annoyed enough to post about it. I currently have an Audio Technica turntable plugged into a Play 5 via stereo audio cable through line in on the Play 5. I then sync all my other Sonos speakers to the Play 5 and play records through the line-in input. It works great. However, every time I switch records or the record player idles for a while, I have to manually reconnect all the other Sonos speakers in my system EXCEPT for the Play 5 to the line-in. How do I set the system so that the other speakers don’t drop the line-in, and I have to manually reconnect my other speakers through the app every single time I switch a record? Thanks.
