I did some tests with the introduction of Atmos and Lossless audio on Apple Music

  1.  Playing audio through Apple TV Music app → TV → Sonos Arc, you get:
Atmos on Sonos app
Atmos on Music app
  1. Playing audio through iOS Music app → Airplay → Sonos Arc, you get:
No Atmos but Lossless on Music app
Atmos and Lossless unknown on Sonos app
  1. Playing audio through iOS Sonos app → Sonos Arc, you get:
Atmos and Lossless unknown on Sonos app
 

Thanks for your post, did you have noticed any audible difference between airplay and through Sonos app?

In Sonos app stream seems to be lossy again, aac 256 k, while via airplay the stream must be lossless unsampling to 16 bit/44.

It’s not ATMOS unless you can see it in the SONOS App…..

Mines definitely not showing it even on the about my system function am I doing something wrong 

 

OP stated that atmos audio via airplay works when you play through an Apple TV.  Essentially, Sonos is playing TV audio, not receiving a direct airplay signal.
