Hi all , had a weird repetitive chime sound coming out of my beam . Happened for 2 days . Forums intimidated an alarm but checked the app and dates no alarm set. When playing music the chime seemed to dominate and could just about here music played through it . Turned off and left off for ages - nothing - them all of a sudden all ok today . Any ideas what is was as I fear it may return ? Thanks

If using a voice assistant, like Amazon Alexa, then it might have been an Alexa alarm, or a reminder, rather than a Sonos alarm, perhaps?

If you continue, the setup should go onto request you enter the 8 digit (xxx-xx-xxx) pin-code located on the ‘serial number’ label on the rear of the device. It can be quite difficult to see the laser-etched code, so I suggest perhaps taking a photograph of the label with your mobile phone and zoom in to view it clearly.

I think it goes through the chiming process a few times IIRC and then comes up with something like - “let’s try something else" … then it switches and asks the user to enter the code.

You could also perhaps try power-cycling the speaker and trying the setup again when you see the flashing green status LED.

I just meant powering ‘off’ the speaker for say 30 seconds or so and then back ‘on’ again, but I see now you will have already tried that if you have factory reset your device.

What mobile controller are you using for the setup and what OS is installed on the mobile? Also have you considered trying the setup whilst the device is temporarily cabled to the local router?

I don’t know @Barber68 it should be letting you step past the chime and inviting you to enter the pin code.

The only thing is to perhaps next contact/chat to Sonos Support Staff and see what they can suggest… you can contact them via this LINK
