Sonos Arc Compatibility

Hi Guys

First Post.

Tearing the remains of my hair out.

I have an LG G1 Evo connected to my Sonos Arc.  All sound outputs are good (ish).  I have connected a Panasonic DP-UB820 Ultra Blu-Ray player to the TV via HDMI.  All cables are connected properly and up to spec.  No matter what I try, I can only see Stereo PCM on the Sonos App when using the player.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks for reading.

If you are testing a Blu-ray disc encoded with DTS-HD Master Audio or DTS:X, you need to make sure the DTS audio setting on the UB820 is set to PCM. Sonos doesn’t support DTS audio codecs.

UB820 settings:

  • Dolby Audio: Bitstream
  • DTS/DTS-HD: PCM
  • Secondary Audio: Off

LG settings:

  • HDMI Input Format: Bitstream
  • Digital Sound Output: Auto
  • Enable eARC Support in the Sound settings.

When your settings are correct, you should see “Multichannel PCM 5.1” or “Multichannel PCM 7.1” on the Sonos app when playing a DTS-encoded disc. A Dolby-encoded disc will usually show “Dolby TrueHD” or the Dolby Atmos logo with supported discs.
