Simple question I'm sure, but don't know the answer so that's why I'm here. Getting an HDMI Switcher on Monday for all my HDMI Components, DVD, Blue-Ray, Roku.... Currently my Playbase is connected from the Playbase into my Digital out out port on my TV..... When I set this up do I then run the TOSLINK cable from the Playbase into the Optical port on the HDMI splitter ??? Or is it left as is from Playbase to TV ?? As always any answers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You !

I've had my Playbar for a couple months now and can't seem to get the lip sync issues worked out. My setup consists of Xbox One S, PlayStation 4 Pro and Apple TV 4th gen to hdmi switch. From the switch it is HDMI out of HDMI Switch to HDMI input on TV. I've tried different sources and all have issues with lip sync. I thought it may be the switch so I took it out of the mix and still same issue. Tried lip sync on Sonos App still same issue. Tried lip sync on my tv still same issue. Has anyone else has this issue. If so, what was your fix? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I am looking at buying a projector screen just for my 3.1 by 3.6m bedroom. What brand/product would recommend? I am looking at connecting it to my brand new Sonos play5 (gen2) system. What are all the ways I can connect it up? from the cheapest budget option .... to the high end option where my sound quality isn't lost. But probably looking at. Cheapest option with biggest image possible. Also worth noting looking into a getting to play1 speakers to create a soround sound system in my room. Thank you for your time.

Hi, I'm from Italy. I recently purchased a Play:1 and it works perfectly with all my Apple devices (iPad, iPhone and, most important an iMac 27" late 2012). I'm starting to think to buy a Playbar to realize the Home Theatre system I always dream... no cables and perfect sound for DVD and movies from iTunes. I have not a TV and I use the iMac late 2012 as screen for everything so the question is: is it possible to link the iMac (late 2012 manufactured) with its headphone/optical digital audio output (minijack) with the Playbar? I have a fire stick in a home theater at my house. I would like to plug my fire stick directly into the HDMI of my projector, but I don't want to run audio cables. Is it possible to get the fire stick to communicate with my Sonos system over WiFi? Also, would there be an audio delay if I were to do this?

I have a playbar that I have to place behind my TV due to its location above a mantel. There is a 2 inch gap below the TV so some sound comes through, but I am not ecstatic about the sound quality. I was planning on adding 2 play 3s essentially as front bookshelf speakers -- one on either side of the TV. The point was to augment the sound coming from the playbar in front, not to create surround. As best I can tell, I can bond the 2 play 3s to the playbar but then they will act as surround. Is that right? If so, can I play with the surround volume to try to achieve what I want -- more front sound? I think I can also group them with the playbar as a stereo pair, but then it sounds like there will be a delay in the sound. Is that right? Is the only way to eliminate the delay bond rather than group? I guess I could get rid of the playbar and just run the two play 3s as front speakers off a connect or connect:amp, is that right? Any other thoughts? Thanks so so much :

I have the above TV connected via optical out to a playbase and sub. The sound when used for music via the Sonos app is fab, as is the TV sound through the Playbase BUT I have a freesat box and an Apple TV box connected to the TV via HDMI sockets into the "One Connect" hub that these TV's come with and the sound through these is rubbish. Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this?

I have a Samsung un65ks800d TV that uses a Samsung Smart Control TM1680A. The Sonos Playbar does not recognize the signals from the remote. Has anybody had success with this remote?

Dear Sonos- This weekend I streamed Rogue One. It was Dolby Digital Plus 7.1. Time to upgrade your equipment to make it compatible with Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 (DTS support would be great too). I'm willing to wait a year before I sell my Sonos and get either the Axiim Q or Klipsch wireless systems.

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can provide some clarity on settings and surround sound. I've just set up a Sonos home theatre system as follows: Playbar connected to TV, a Samsung UA55ES7100M, with optical cable and TV settings to external speakers; Sub and 2 x Play 3's as surrounds. I have an Apple TV (4th gen) connected to the TV via HDMI but only seem to be able to get stereo. When I set the Apple TV to Dolby Digital 5.1, under Audio and Video/Surround Sound, I get no sound when playing from iTunes movies or Netflix. Both play fine if Apple TV is set to Best Available Quality, but only in stereo. With the above settings active, in the TV output settings I can select PCM when playing Netflix, and both PCM and Dolby Digital with iTunes movies, however no sound from the Sonos speakers regardless of the setting. With any other apps on the Apple TV I do get sound, but only the PCM option on the TV. Is anyone able to confirm if this is an issue at the Apple TV end, or the TV not

I have a Play Base-1, Sub and 2- Play 1 surround speakers. Case1: PlayBase1, Sub and Play 1 all in same room and use as home theater - Issue: -->I barely feel any sound from surround Sonos 1. Unless I go and stand next to it, I cannot feel any sound. Case2: PlayBase and Sub are part of Room1. Sonos 1 speakers are paired as speaker-pair as part of Room2. Issue: I can feel the surround. But there are sudden drops in connections for a moment. This happens almost every minute when I directly playing from TV and almost every 30 sec when casting to TV. This is very annoying. BTW I have connected Playbase to router via ether net, creating a dedicated Sonos Network. My entire purpose of getting Sonos is wasted.. Please help me getting a solution, or I have no option but to return these.. As this is really annoying..

Hi i have a sony google tv and i manage to connect the sound bar etc, the only problem i have is the volume and the remote control, am using NSG-MR1 REMOTE thank you

I recently added a play base to my system. I find the tv requires much higher volume than music streaming therefore there please sonos introduce two baseline settings. At the moment if I try to play music e.g. When I get home it blares way too loud having watched tv the night before. Similarly if I try to watch tv having listed to music the night before, the tv is way too quiet. Did not have this issue when I was using another brand tv bar!! Hopefully an easy software enhancement sonos?

As part of moving to a new house I just upgraded all our televisions to Samsung UN65JS8500 SUHD 4K TV's. Unlike our old house, however, our new home isn't pre-wired for 5.1 and 7.1.  I am an avid SONOS fan and have quite a few SONOS devices and decided to move to using it exclusively for surround on the TV's (to avoid sheetrock work!) .  However I am looking for advice on setting up the system because many of the TV's will have an Xbox One, PS4, DIRECTV, and possibly and Apple TV.  I was thinking possibly an optical only switch as a possible solution but liked the HDMI switch option (if it supports a Logitech Harmony universal remote).  However I don't know of an HDMI switch that support HDMI 2.0a and allows for the 4k or HDR pass through. Thoughts?  Any ideas on a setup?

Does the ambient vs full setting on play 1 surrounds bonded with a play around and sub affect the 5.1 with TV and movies or is the difference only applicable for music listening?

How do I stop the "volume is fixed" error message on my Sony XBR-55X850D, run through a Playbase? I don't see a fixed/variable audio choice on the TV's menu. Relatedly, is it possible to show the Playbase's volume level on the TV, i.e., a volume bar just like normal? It kind of feels like I'm flying blind when changing the volume in the absence of that visual representation.

Any recommendations?

I got a LG OLED TV and currently have a Sonos PlayBar connected via an optical cable. It works great and the Sonos app shows I'm in the 5.1 mode. I realized that I have a connect amp that (not in use) and there are a couple of ceiling mounted speakers in a reasonably good location (rear of room, on either side of the listening area). I followed the setup instructions and the app shows it to be connected. I have not had a change to play any 5.1 enabled content, but the instructions say that the soundbar and the connect amp need to be connected to the router via Ethernet cable or connected to each other via an Ethernet cable. Is this really necessary?

I've set up a new playbar with my tv and disabled the volume is fixed message. However now I have a volume message which moves when I raise and lower the volume but it does not seem to correspond with the app. I think I saw a solution to this previously but cannot seem to find it. I'd appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction. My TV is a Sony KDL-55HX850. Thanks.

my sound bar is not pairing with my samsung 9000 suhd tv remote. Any ideas on how to get it to work?

Any references to differences when listening to a stereo PCM feed into a Playbase vs. a 5.1 single, assuming no additional sub or surrounds? Not sure sweating the lack of DD 5.1 signal from my TV is worth it if not actually having the additional speakers available. I understand the Playbase will matrix a stereo signal into a simulated 5.1, but any feedback if using an actual DD 5.1 feed is sonically better in a playbase only environment?

Just curious if anyone had any recommendations for an entertainment center/TV stand to accommodate a Sonos Playbar + 50" flatscreen. Wall-mounting the flatscreen isn't an option for us unfortunately. We have something from Ikea now and the Playbar sits directly in front of the TV and just barely clears it so the Playbar isn't obstructing the TV. It's also pretty narrow which is a downside. Both barely fit on it. Not mandatory, but we have a little one who is just starting to stand and walk so something a little high from the ground would be ideal. Also not mandatory, but anything with cabinets would be a help too.

I am utterly confused and need advice of 5.1 playback on my Playbar. I bought a Playbar and hooked it up to my TV and realized when i checked the settings in the Sonos App it says Stereo. I do not plan on getting any other Sonos products for the TV. I have a TV that will not output 5.1. So here is my dilemma and I would be sincerely appreciative if someone could answer this for me! My set-up is very simple I have a ps4 and a directv box. Both have optical cable connections in the back. When i directly connect the play bar to either source it says I am getting Dolby Digital 5.1. However when I connect my playbar just to the TV using an optical cable it says stereo. So my question is there really a difference in sound quality ? I see people using optical/hdmi splitters to get 5.1 sound but if I do not plan on getting any other speakers and just plan on using the Playbar will it make a difference in sound quality thru the ps4/directv in stereo vs 5.1 ?

Hi I recently just replace my sub as it have some cosmetic defects. My current sub is still under warranty. I have drop a email to sonos support customer service and they told me to begin with a RMA request. Once the RMA is approved they will send a replacement unit. I asked sonos will I get a brand new sub n their answer is your replacement unit will be the same as your current unit. My question is is the replacement unit is a refurbished unit or is brand new? Thanks
