I have the new Apple TV, and the remote is supposed to control volume for external devices. I can't seem to make it do the volume on my Playbar. Has anyone found a solution for this? My TiVo remote *does* do it, and I tried learning from the TiVo remote, but it just doesn't ever work for some odd reason.

Does Sonos playbar support 802.11ac 2.4 GHz?

I would like to purchase a TV sound system and be able to connect it with other speakers around the house. !. How many speakers can I connect to one bar system? 2. Will I be able to listen to the TV through those other speakers, not only the bar system ones?

I have an oled c7 remote and the sky Q and i would like to pair the 2 to my playbase. i can pair the lg remote via the sonos app but i cant find any codes for the playbase to programme the sky remote the other way. I used to have both remotes working when i had my samsung ks series but cant do it here. Is there a way round this. Thank you.

I have a LG OLED55C7P connected to a PLAYBASE (software version 8.1) and an Amazon Fire TV on hdmi. If I configure the Amazon Fire TV to use Dolby Digital over hdmi, I head no sound. I only hear if I choose pcm. Does anyone have a problem with Amazon Fire TV and Sonos?

I just bought a Playbar and have set it up with two Play1s (no sub). I've connected it to the TV and have it up and running. When I play something from Spotify the sound would blow you out of the room however when you play from the TV the sound isn't as good at all. In fact I'd go as far as to say that the volume from the TV is probably louder.  I've a Samsung H6400. 

Ok so I took the plunge into the sonas world and bought playbar and 2 play 1 ....then I discovered this forum and all the dts issues I have a 4k 55 inch which I suspect doesn't allow pass through... I use a nvidia shield for my Amazon, netflix, kodi streaming, also have an Xbox but only got all my sonos set up yesterday so haven't watched any blue rays I am hoping to upgrade to the LG B7 oled which I think allows pass through Would anyone be so kind as to explain in lay man terms, how do I check if I'm getting 5.1 through my setup or merely stero If my tv has pass through do I hook up my nvidia shield and xbox one directly to tv with hdmi and optical out to my sonos I have read countless threads on this but my brain cannot understand as this is all so new to me Hdmi switches?? I hooked my Playbar to my Sharp Aquos tv with the optical cable. Directly to each other. I have my Comcast cable box connected to my tv with an HDMI cable. I shut off my TV speakers. No sound! I can play music with no issue, just not TV. I then tested my Playbar on my Vista TV with the same setup. It immediately played the sound of the TV. Please help! I have the total Home Theater setup and I want to use it. Thank you in advance for your help!!

Just set up my 5.1 system with a Playbase tonight. During my testing of various Apple TV apps to see how the 5.1 worked, I noted that my Play:1 surrounds are playing even when the source is apparently providing stereo input, per the Sonos app. I’m not complaining by any means, I’m just curious if anyone else experienced this. When doing my research prior to making the purchase, I expected stereo to just come out of the Playbar and Sub. Is it because the system thinks it’s just playing music and the surrounds are working to provide ambient levels of sound? I know you can change between ambient and full for music.

I have a Sony TV xbr-65x850d and currently thinking about getting a Playbase and a subwoofer to play audio. I am also going to connect an Xbox One s, Sony blu ray player, and a cable box to the TV HDMI inputs. Does anyone know the answer?

Since the update to 8.0, when TV autoplay is set to on, I am unable to add my playbar to a group playing music, it keeps defaulting to TV sound. This is after I have selected the option to play the selected music source and clicked Done. This didn't happen before the update. I have to disable TV autoplay to add it to a music playing group. Can anyone help or is this just a glitch requiring a further update?

I was disappointed that the Sonos One no longer has the mounting threads on the back. Minor issue but it will change my setup.

Will I have any issue using two different hardware version Play:1s as surrounds? One of them is hardware version 1.8.3.7-1 and the other is 1.20.1.6-1.

I've set up my sub and it is currently in the "living room" group with my playbar. When finishing the set up and doing the audio calibration the set up just stops and I can't find another audio re-calibrate button on the app. My sub isn't producing any vibrations or noise. Can anyone help?

Hi all Im a new user in the Sonos world. I bought my first sonos playbar and sub yesterday and everything i working perfectly. I was wondering is the Sonos playbar and sub always powered on or do they go on stand by after a while with no audio signal?? Also is it possible to see what signal input the playbar is receiving through the optical input?? Hope to hear from you :) Br Jesper

I've googled this plenty, so I think this is right but I wanted to hear from the experts. I don't currently own Sonos, so I'm not entirely sure how some aspects would work. I'm trying to get 5.1 surround in the living room with a Bar + Sub + 2 P1's. But I also have in-ceiling wired speakers I'd like to use as a Zone 2. Ultimately I'd like Zone 2 to be EITHER the same output as the living room OR independent. One of those Zone 2 rooms is the patio and it's good to have separate music out there or to send the TV audio out there as I can watch the TV through the window while enjoying a cigar. Here's a rough wiring diagram that I am thinking. Here's the speaker selector I have -- this should be fine to power 5-6 rooms of ceiling speakers since it has an impedance controller, correct? Hi. I've just purchased a Playbar and sub and it is all connected up and working whilst connected via ethernet. However, I am trying to connect the Playbar on a wireless network for Spotify use from my phone ie. switching from ethernet to wireless. Does anyone know how to do this as I have drawn a complete blank? Thanks

I use a connect amp with a line in from a 3.5mm jack to rca phono leads. On an evening I turn tv off but when I get up in the morning the connect amp still says its “playing” the tv line in even though the line in is dormant. The amp is warm which means it’s been going all night. Does it not have a self shut down operation If it becomes dormant? Would this not be a great idea. I as much as anyone think it’s ridiculous that I’m writing this, after all, all I need to do is put on the app and press stop on the amp. I just keep completely forgetting. And I think the times I do it would be nice if amp shut down after 30 minutes or so. Just a thought.

I got a screen projector and was hoping to use it to watch movies and leverage my Playbar (I have the whole system, Sonos 5.1 Home Theater System PLAYBAR, SUB, PLAY:1 Wireless Rears Combination) . I usually run my movies from my Mac. I cannot figure out for the life of me how I can use playbar as my Laptop sounds and it is getting very frustrating. Ideally, I would like to transfer the Audio out wirelessly but reading on the forum it seems even if I hacked my Mac to do so, there will be a delay of 4-5 seconds which is not feasible when watching movies. The other option (which I don't like) is to use the cable directly but that also doesn't seem to work. I have bough a 3.5MM > Optical cable and I am still not getting any sound from the playbar. I tried this converter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011O0N0UQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but didn't work. Any thoughts? I am still very new to Sonos

I got completely roasted today on another forum for suggesting the SONOS SUB. The sentiment on there was that it was part of a pretty package but that it isn't capable of serious performance with such small drivers for a living room and that it didn't even hit the marketed 25Hz (does it matter)? I am not an audio gear-head so bear with me, what should my reply have been?

Hi i wonder if someone can give me best advice: i have in the front room TV - Playbar - (Play 5 GEN 2) - 2 x Play 1 in kitchen 1 x play 1 in main bedroom (1 x play 3) NO PLAY BAR (Not currently working with TV) in bathroom 1 x play 1 daughter room 1 x play 5 gen 1 the WIFI is not coping with all the devices very well so i wanted to know if i am better off buying a BOOST to help with the connections OR should i buy AMP to help with the WIFI and a way to connect the 2nd tv to sonos? ie is there a way to help with WIFI and connect 2nd tv to sonos system please? i hope someone can help

Hi, I'm a new Sonos owner (just received it yesterday!). I bought a playbase and 2 Ones that are on their way later this month. After setting everything up, I couldn't get audio to come out of my playbase while watching tv via directv. So after connecting the optical audio cable to the directv box (rather than the TV as the instructions say), the sound started working. The problem is that when I switch to my Apple TV, I can't get any audio to come out of the playbase at all (obviously because the cable is connected to the directv box). Does anyone have a solution to this? Do I need to buy an hdmi splitter? Ideally I want to connect my optical audio cable to my TV (like the directions say) so that no matter what input I'm on, the audio comes out of the playbase... but it seems like the cable box is posing a problem with this...

Is there a way I can control the volume on the Sonos via either the Xbox or Comcast Xfinity controller? I need to simplify for the missus and my mom for when she visits.

Someone recommended an automatic 2 input optical audio switcher in one of the original playbar threads. It was from monoprice and the link is dead, and a search on monoprice makes it look like it's discontinued with nothing else up in its place. I'm buying a new TV soon but based on what research I've done, it's impossible to be certain any TV I buy will have proper 5.1 optical switching. 99% chance it will not have it in spite of what people casually report on the internet. So, I'll need to buy an optical audio switcher. I need to route at least three inputs, ideally four to help future proof me. And it needs to support 5.1. It does me no good if it downgrades the signal to 2.x. I'm also debating over whether I should just buy another A/V receiver. I sold my old A/V receiver with my old 5.1 speaker set when I bought my playbar. As ridiculous as it sounds (and actually is), my best bet may be to buy a cheap $100 to $200 A/V receiver and use that for all my audio routing to the
