I installed a Sonos Beam just below the mantle and above the fireplace this week. The client says it is pretty warm/hot. What is the operating temp of the Beam and or should I worry?

How do I connect my Samsung Smart TV to my existing wifi speakers using Sonos? I already have my existing wifi set up with a Connect to be able to stream via my wifi speakers. Can I use the same Connect box to connect my TV (in the same place) to also use my wifi speakers?

My Sono’s Beam is crackling occasionally with voices at high volumes on tv. It seems to be certain frequencies because it’s consistent with when certain people are talking on tv shows/movies. And continues with the same persons. I’ve experimented with speech enhancement on/off, trueplay on/off, eq adjustment, etc. only thing that directly solves the problem is volume level It’s only when I turn the Beam to 60% or more volume the crackling starts, but that’s how I like it (I also have a sub hooked up). So my choices are either 1)don’t listen loud, or 2)listen loud with crackling. Anybody have any advice? Trading in the Beam for the Playbar or playbase wouldn’t be wise as they are so old.. **For reference I also have 2 sonos one’s hooked up next to the tv, in a different group labeled ‘surround’, so I can turn that on to raise volume. I plan on swapping those with 2 new play 5 when the new version with Alexa comes out, and using the ones as surround.

Hi, I have a PS4 Pro set up with my Sonos Beam through a Samsung TV. The Beam is connected using the HDMI ARC slot, the PS4 is regular HDMI. I like to listen to my music through the Beam while I'm playing some games but while I am playing the sound continuously cuts back to the game sounds when I press the buttons on my PS4 controller. The PS4 is overriding my Sonos playback choice? Does anyone know how to stop this from happening? Thanks

I have 2 Sonos:1's and 1 Sonos:connect. If had Sonos connect running since before WiFi was even supported. My Connect keeps going offline. Honestly, this has been happening for years and I always hoped that it would eventually go away with software updates or other changes. In full disclosure, I'm in IT so I have tried a number of different changes to no avail and I dont have your "typical" home network with an open router. I have switched from the Sonos wireless to WiFi and back. I have tried different channels. I have moved the devices around and moved other potentially interfering devices. I update the system whenever an update comes out. I have a pretty small 1200 sq ft home with two high-end Ruckus wireless APs. In addition, I have changed out firewalls, routers, and switches (just due to upgrades over the years). Hi, Just got the beam this weekend and when my kids go to watch TV, often the sound has been switched to music on the beam. I know that you can ask Alexa to change it back to TV, but I am not planning on using Alexa, I do not like Alexa. Also my kids don't use the App, so I have to manually change it back for them every time. One thread said you can just hit volume up or down on the TV Remote and it will kick in but that didn't work for me. Any other suggestions?

I've set up my beam and get sound while watching Freeview via internal tuner. The problem is when I wake Nvidia Shield TV with HDMI CEC, there is what looks like a Sonos screen saver I assumed that as the Beam has ARC, I could use my Shield as usual for Video and the beam would handle audio? Sony TV HDMI (1) ARC > Sonos Beam (Ethernet) HDMI (2) > Nvidia Shield TV

Would my wired Speakers connected to the Sonos Amp play in perfect sync with the Beam? I’d like to have them all play together if it will work.

Hi, I have an older Philips TV (42PES0001 d) that has HDMI but not ARC, it has L/R audio out and Digital Audio Out - Coaxial. I am having trouble finding a connection method to the single HDMI port on the Beam. Google hasn't helped, hoping someone here can put me in the right direction. Thanks in advance JD

So I just recently bought a playbar a little less than 3 months ago. As many I was excited about AirPlay 2 so I went out and got two Ones to support my surround. Well after the updated you can’t use airplay 2 even though I have the Ones that are compatible because the playbar isn’t. The only way to use airplay 2 is to separate my surround and then do a group with my stereo Ones and my playbar+sub. Only problem is there a slight delay when watching tv when they are grouped which is completing annoying. I didn’t get the playbase because my TV mounted and the beam wasn’t even announced if I remember correctly. I’m really sad about this since I’ve seen plenty of people buys Ones so that they can support AirPlay 2. So the grand question. Will they support surround at some point with playbar.

I have a Marantz 1506. It was installed by a dealer with 3 connect amps and one connect. It incorporates a kitchen zone, living room zone (where the equipment and tv is), a bedroom zone, and a patio zone. Something happened to the connections and for the life of me I cannot get it back to normal. I cannot get sonos to play on the living room zone, on,y music straight though the Marantz. Also, the line in feature does not work for the bedroom. Does anyone have a similar setup and any suggestions? I am a level under extreme novice with this stuff. If it isn’t plug and play, I’m not good at fir hurting it out. Thanks.

I just purchased a Sonos Beam and no matter how hard I try to get my TV to play any sound through HDMI 3 which is the ARC port,it just won't.It works perfectly fine through optical in however.My Tv is a 49 inch 2017 model and the set up on the Sonos app keeps failing when it reaches the TV portion.Can somebody help me?Thank you.

For as long as I've had my TV, only hdmi port 1 has appeared to work with anynet+. This is regardless of which devices are connected. I just got the beam and only hdmi port 3 is the ARC channel. Plugging the beam into port 1 allows control of the TV with the Alexa but obviously no sound comes out unless its in port 3, which doesn't allow for anynet+ control. Does anyone know if this is normal or if I can get anynet+ to work on multiple ports? I have tried power cycling and unplugging the TV already. It doesn't seem to matter if nothing else is connected or if they're all connected, it still only works with hdmi port 1.

Sonos Beam seems unable to pair with Panasonic TV - App runs through all the usual setup and everything goes well until it mentions finding the ARC connection. Asks to Enable CEC on TV menu etc. Unable to get any further. Any ideas?

The Xfinity remote initially controlled the volume from long distances and then it would only work if you were 5 feet or less away from the playbar.

I currently owned a play:5. I used it to play music only, love it. Now, I just purchased a 4K Samsung TV along with a sonos bean soundtrack. My question is how can I pair them up? To play TV and music.

Hi, I've just added a Sonos Beam to my Sharp Aquos Tv connected by HDMI ARC. Everything seems to be working soundwise however I can no longer control my TV; all the buttons on my TV have stopped working and the TV remote has also stopped working (except mute and volume). The TV is recognising the remote buttons because the status light flashes when a button is pressed but nothing happens. This means the only way I can switch my TV off is by asking Alexa to do it, and I am unable to change sources. The remote does work to turn the TV on and the remote continues to work for a short while after the TV is turned on. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Hi folks. I have set up my Beam on my Sony Bravia TV and almost everything appears ok. The thing I have problem is, is the fact the tv remote only transmits volume change commands through the Beam. I can’t use any other commands such as channel change, on and off, input, Netflix button etc. Any ideas? The Bravia Sync appears to be activated in tv settings. Just to clarify, I’m not referring to Alexa commands, just the tv remote. Help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Unable to get Dolby in Sky Q connected to my Samsung via HDMI Arc. No problems in Normal mode but defeats the object . Looking on the TV menu, Dolby is greyed out and only RF mode available. Any ideas? Next is to try the optical cable/adapter but will I lose the tv remote capability for volume etc?

Have been reading threads about switches but nothing quite fit the bill with my needs. So, here goes: TV and Playbar mounted on wall with power (x2), single HDMI 4K (2.2)lead, Ethernet (x2) and optical going into wall about four feet and coming out near plug sockets. The reason I tell you this is because I do not want a load of wires trailing across wall. I have HDMI 2.2 lead and optical connected to Sky Q with HDMI going to TV and optical going to Playbar. TV optical is only 2.0 output so did not want that connecting to Playbar. I have recently bought an Amazon Fire Stick 4K however, since there is only 1 2.2 HDMI input into TV, I have to keep unplugging Sky Q to plug in Fire stick. Also, the Fire stick sound only comes out of TV speakers which sound rubbish compared to Playbar with Play 1s as surround. As well as that, the fire stick needs power (USB from TV not powerful enough apparently so wires have to run across wall via extension plug.) I have looked into other threads which

I just set up my new Sonos Beam to my Sony Bravia tv, when I go to watch tv or a movie, the sound only comes out of the sonos beam and not that loud. Should the sound come from both my tv and sonos beam? I have plugged the HDMI ARC cable in correct ports.

Evening all, Currently got a playbar and to play 1's. its fine for tele but lacking for music. Today i have purchased the sub and have also just brought 2 x play 5's due to them being at a siily price. My question is could i replace the sound bar with 2 play 5's then use the sub and 2 x plays 1 as surrounds? Can then sell playbar to get some money back :-) Cheers

Is there any plans for a new PlayBar 2.0 any time soon???? I have a large room and Sonos Beam won’t cut it 😉
