Hi everyone, first time poster I have the Playbar installed under my tv and decided to get a couple Sonos One's for the rears My condo rear wall is not straight and one speaker will sit about 20 inches closer than the other speaker When doing sound check, will the Sonos system know that they are not the same distance and make any necessary adjustments?

New Playbase owner here. Does anybody else find it odd that while there are TV Autoplay and Ungroup on Autoplay settings for the Playbase, there is no option to regroup to the last group the Playbase was a part of when the TV is turned off? Also, it would be nice if there were an Autoplay volume setting for TV Autoplay like there is for the Connect or line-in on the Play:5. Come to think of it, I would like a default volume setting on initial playback for all my Sonos players.

Hello, I have just purchased a Beam. It sounds great however having connected it to the ARC port on my TCL TV avery 30 seconds or so the volumn display on the tv appears for a few seconds and then disappears. This is super annoying as you can imagine. Ive looked into all the settings and cant see how to turn it off. My TV has Android 7.0 software on it. Any help would be great. Thanks

I'm unable to have by Samsung UHD TV 8 series display volume level on the tv screen using my remote. . I have a AT@T U-Verse system and programed the AT@T remote to work with Samsung TV. Both my Samsung or AT@T remote won't show display thru my PlayBar

I have read the advice - under no circumstances install the PB on a ceiling.  The thing is we have the perfect place for it above the TV and am going to do it anyway What i want to know is, with the accelerometers determining the EQ by sensing the PBs orientation, will the system actually function adequately if hung from the ceiling 'upside down' using the wall mount bracket?

Hi all! I've got a Samsung KS8000 TV and a Chromecast device connected to the HDMI ARC port. When I say to the google assistant "Ok google, play videos of cats" the chromecast turns on the TV and everything works fine... Now, I want to upgrade the sound with a Beam... I know it has to be connected to the same HDMI ARC port that I currently have the chromecast in.... or so I've been led to believe? How should I connect the trio of devices so that I can still ask the G assistant to play videos on the tv so it turns the tv on and have audio coming out of the Beam? Thanks!

My Samsung only has an HDMI and HDMI DVI ports, no ARC. I have a DVD player and Apple TV in those HDMI ports. With the Beam connected through the optical cable, What functionality will I be losing as compared to the HDMI ARC?

Hi, I am having an issue, I have the 2017 Nvidia shield going into my Samsung ue406670 via hdmi 1 and the Sonos beam out of hdmi 2 (arc) I get 5.1 using the TV Netflix and Amazon app but Netflix and amazon via the shield is stereo only, when I force 5.1, no sound at all. I have tried to alter the settings on TV and shield but when shield is on my only option is PCM. Could it be that my TV only supports stereo via arc? But I get 5.1 with apps directly in the TV, maybe stereo passthrough? Any ideas? Like (0)

Hi all I can’t get my directc remote to control my Sonos beam. I have a Samsung Plasma that I’m using the beat for my audio. I’ve made sure my directv remote know the Sonos is my audio (using the optical cable to connect the TV to the Beam). I’ve tried reprogramming the remote. Tired or changing the TV volume with my phone. Can anyone help??

Set up playbar, sub and play 1. Surround sound effects suck even on 5.1 Surround DVD. My Samsung set to surround before I select external speaker. Played with advanced settings. Not fixing product. Getting frustrated. Does Sonos offer no phone support?

I'm and "old" sonos newbie who has screwed-up his surround setup to the point where my wife wants it returned because it does not perform the way "we" thought it would. My system consists of a Beam & 2 Play 1 speakers. The issue is I hear the audio from my Beam only and nothing I do allows me to adjust my Play 1 speaker volume independently. I want to lower the Beam volume and independently increase the volume on my Play 1 speakers. If I use the app or the plus volume buttons on the Play 1 speakers the system volume changes. I've just submitted a diagnostics request (1302827367) in hopes they can give me some help. In the meantime - here I am - asking their user group. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Additionally I don't know the difference between a "surround system" and a "home theater system". Gumpa

I've got a Sonos Beam attached to a Panasonic Viera via the Hdmi arc port. I know how to switch from music output to tv output on the beam but whay I'd like to be able to do occasionally is swich from tv ouput through the beam to tv output through the normal tv speakers. I could just plug and unplug the hdmi cable but i wondered if theres a better solution. Thanks!

My TV (Toshiba 40SL412U) doesn't allow for muting of internal speakers unless a "Regza-Link" compatible surround sound system is attached to the TV. Of course, the Sonos Playbar does not appear to be Regza Link compatible.  Is there a software update that could be done to fix this issue? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I'm currently having to use 2 separate remotes (1 for TV, 1 for sattelite and Sonos) to combat the problem, which is annoying. I'm literally willing to open my TV and clip speaker wires if thats what it takes (although I haven't for fear that would detroy any pass through ability to the optical port)

Connect inputs eliminate my cable TV digital input. I bought the Connect to turn my home theater system into steaming system but it eliminated my digital audio connection from my cable box. There is no digital in, only a digital out. I have high def cable box with digital out and if I use Connect, I sacrifice the digital audio connection to the speakers because the Connect only has RCA input. Digital in would be nice improvement

I have a Playbar and 2 Play 1's as surround speakers. I have a crackling / static sound periodically that comes from the left Play 1. I have run a diagnostic and the number is 1435055996. Please help me figure how to fix. I have had the set up for about 6 months with no issues. The wifi router is within about 3' from the playbar.

Have my Beam set up with my Sony Bravia tv via Arc, sounding great. If I then stream some music, I then can’t find how I revert back to the TV sound once the music is stopped, I’m having to turn the TV on and off to get the sound back. I bet I’m missing something obvious!

This is a fairly new Samsung TV and has the HDMI Arc port to which I connected a new Sonos Beam. Set up was simple and worked great. Until, the TV was turned off overnight. When turning on the TV in the morning, there appeared to be a conflict with the cable box in HDMI 1. I’ve tried everything form calling Comcast, getting a new cable box, doing several factory resets on the TV and patching Samsung through to my TV to ensure the ports were in good working condition. I swapped out the Arc connection in favor of the Optical adapter and it seems to be working now but that somewhat defeats the purpose for having the Beam and Alexa controlling the TV. Has anyone seen this happen or do you have any recommendations? Thx

I realize that this may not have to do with the Amp specifically, but you all are such a helpful community of audiophiles that I figured you'd probably know. I was trying to watch a Blu-ray whose audio output format is DTS-HD Master Audio. I have updated my Playstation Station 3 to a version that apparently can handle that audio format. Then I have told it to convert to DTS 5.1. It's set to output in Bitstream. When watching the video, the playstation's video info does indeed show the output as DTS. It used to say DTS-HD MA before I told the PS3 to down convert (?) to DTS 5.1. The PS3 is connected to a Vizio P-Series 55" LED TV (2018) via HDMI. And the Vizio is feeding my Sonos Amp via HDMI ARC. The Vizio is set to output digital audio as bitstream also. And according to this article: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/5-1-surround-audio-passthrough this TV is capable of passing through DTS audio over HDMI ARC. However, there is no sound on the Amp and the TV is's info

What remote is most compatible with my setup? I am about to purchase a Beam and 2 Play:1s for our family room. Ideally, I would like to use voice commands to turn the TV on/off, change channels, switch from UVerse to Netflix, pull up UVerse Guide, recordings, etc. I suspect Alexa won't be able to handle all of that so am looking for a single/universal remote to perform these functions, preferably without IR emitters running everywhere. My desired setup: On the wall Samsung QN75Q6FNAFXZA (HDMI connection to DVR) Sonos Beam ( HDMI ARC connection to TV) Closed Cabinet Uverse DVR IPH8010 (hardwired ethernet connection / HDMI to TV) Roku 4620X (data connection is wifi / HDMI connection to TV) Couch Sonos Play:1's (wifi) Is there a remote that works well without having to run IR emitters to every component? Does it play nice with Sonos? The DVR and Streaming Device will always be behind closed doors. I am open to buying firetvcube or fire stick if this helps.

Got a Beam. It sounds much thinner than my LG bar+sub that was 1/3 price 3 years ago. Quite disappointing really. I know it doesn’t have a sub, but considering it’s 3 times the price I’d expect it to be better. So now I need to either return it or bulk it up with a sub or 2x play:1. Which is better? I’m guessing the sub, but it seems even more overpriced than the beam. I could get 5 play:1’s for the price of one sub 😞

I have got the beam, sub and two ones as surrounds, but undecided on best way to set them up. What are people’s recommendations, wall mount just below the ceiling at the rear on each side, or use two floor stands at each side of the sofa? Appreciate it’s most likely to be personal choice, I’m personally think wall mount will look neater but will I lose sound experience not having them as close

When I share the audio from my Playbar TV input to others sonos products the audio cuts out intermittently. However, when I steam audio from an audio streaming service or another sonos device to my playbar there is no issue. The issue seems only to be "one way" and so I doubt this is a network connectivity issue.

I have a Sunbrite outdoor TV. I currently use DirectTV but want to go to a streaming service. The Sunbrite is not a smart TV. The audio for the outdoor TV currently uses RCA cables to connect the DirectTV box to the wired Sonos amp, which then is wired to the outdoor speakers. I'll have to use a firestick or such to get streaming video to the TV. The TV has a digital audio output jack but the sonos amp just has the RCA inputs. Any guidance on how to do this, preferably with existing components?

I have two Sonos one’s which I use as a paired set in the same room as a playbar and sub connected to a TV. I want to use the one’s independently as a pair (with Alexa) and occasionally use as a home theatre with the play bar and sub. Is there any other way to do this apart from grouping to get true home theatre?
