Hi allI’ve recent upgraded tv to an A8 and upgraded the playbar to the Arc (spectacular by the way). With this comes the compulsory upgrade to the S2 app - why fix things that aren’t broken??!I’ve had to split my system which I understand but a pain. Running the S2 I’ve managed to get the lounge to work - arc, sub 2x play 5 for surround. Amazing. Now the sound works but the app doesn’t the see the room, so no adjustment for normal viewing with extra annoyances when at times the sound drops out and I have to reset. I’ve tried the app reset and router switch off… why it never happened before? Additionally how can you not see the, ‘soon to be door stop units!’, on the S2 app? Thanks in advance

So there’s a Dolby atmos setting on my Samsung tv called Dolby atmos compatibility but it won’t show up in the app with Dolby atmos. It’s hdmi arc and all it shows Is Dolby digital + 5.1. I was told by Samsung this tv supports it what do I do? 

This is more of a request then a question, I was wondering if we can add a second set of rear speakers?  I have a theater with the Sonos Arc and two play: 5 speakers for the rear. However with how the room is setup with multiple rows of seating I am looking on adding two play one SL speakers as a second set so the front row can get better rear audio. I saw today that the app allows you to add a second subwoofer, but wanted to know if we can get a second set of rear speakers for rooms that have two or more rows of seats.

Just installed the Arc to the HDMI Arc input on my LG while my ATT Direct TV box is attached to HDMI 1. When I turn the TV on it starts off on HDMI but then switches to HDMI Arc.  Is there a way to keep it on HDMI 1? It’s like the ATT box comes on first and then the Arc kicks on and triggers the port thank you

I recently connected a new Beam to my Sony tv, model XBR-65X850E. Since the Beam has been connected, my tv will restart each time I turn it on after being off for an extended period (ex. overnight). I’ve also run into issues where there is no sound from the tv or Beam when connected, volume controls on the tv get disabled, etc. Earlier this week I unplugged the Beam and tv has been working perfectly since.Any thoughts or recommendations? 

Hello I have a Playbar on a TV in a room which also has speakers fed from a connect amp. When streaming the radio with both in a group the Playbar will cut out for around 5 - 10 seconds then cut back in, the speakers connected to the connect amp do not cut out.The playbar is hard wired with the wifi disabled, the TV is switched off. I have also tried with the wifi left on same result.When playing sound from the TV via optical there is no issue.Thanks Paul 

How can I increase the volume for just the beam in my surround sound setup. Beam + Sub + Sonos One gen 2 L & R. The surround sound just drowns out the dialogue. 

I have the new Sonos Arc connected to my ROkuTCL 8 Series 8 65Q825. The Roku audio options are auto detect, auto passthrough, and Dolby Digital plus - DTS. I have the Dolby Atmos activation notification on. Requesting assistance on correct setting to obtain Dolby Atmos. Thank you in advance.        

I have a TCL 65R635 TV and a Sonos Playbar soundbar. I can’t seem to pair my TCL tv remote with the soundbar. Tech support said an HDMI cable needs to connect the two together, in order to sync the remote. However, my soundbar doesn’t even have an HDMI port. I’m using a digital/optical cable. Can anyone help? 

I’m using a LG 4K smart TV, using Sonos Arc as the sound output connecting via the HDMI ARC port, and I connect my PS5 to another HDMI port.I have turned off the HDMI Device Link function on PS5so what happened is when I connect the PS5 to the LGTV, the Sonos Arc works well for like a min, and then it will cease receiving signal from the TV and there was no sound. Then the TV will switch back to internal speaker and when I choose the HDMI ARC output again, there was no sound. I have to unplug the PS5 and the Sonos Arc from the HDMI port, then replug the Sonos Arc to the TV then it will function again. But when I start the PS5 again, it doesn’t work again.I suspect it’s something to do with the CEC function on PS5 that confused the LGTV on who to speak to on the HDMI LINK function, but I can’t find a solution to such.

Hi,I recently purchased the new Sonos Arc and have been using for about a week. Currently connected directly to my 2020 Sony Bravia A8H, which supports dolby digital plus and has an HDMI eARC audio output. We noticed that the audio would drop out when watching streaming services. In particular, Netflix that supported Dolby Atmos. After spending days scouring the internet to try and ensure my TV was set proberly, the streaming services worked correctly, etc. with no luck I finally called Sonos.After speaking with a Sonos agent I was told that the Arc cannot properly process the data the TV is sending to it? Apparently, since I only have an Arc soundbar and do not have a 5.1surround sound set-up the Arc will not output Dolby Atmos sound since my current audio system is technically just a 2.0 with the Arc?This was pretty disappointing to hear since the main reason I purchased the Arc was to have the ability to experience Dolby Atmos and high quality sound in lieu of purchasing an entire s

I have had the beam for awhile and just got the SL ones for surround sound and when I play anything on the tv or from my phone there is about a 5 sec lag between the beam and the 2 other speakers. But when playing music from the Sonic app it is perfectly in sync. Help!

Roku is set to HDMI 1 on my tv, audio out via HDMI 2 (Arc) to Sonos. When playing either Pandora or Spotify on the Roku app, the volume is fine around 18-20. Changing to any other app (Disney +, Amazon, Netflix, etc) the same volume level is super quiet. I have to turn up well over 40 to get the same volume level) - is this a design of the arc, or something that isn’t setup properly on my end. I have no other speakers running - just the arc sl soundbar.Just curious as this is my first Sonos product.Thanks 

For the past year or so my Playbar has started to make a clicking sound similar to the sound you would hear if you had button click sounds on and you pressed volume up/down. This only occurs while watching content from the Samsung TV it is connected to and at first it seemed random but recently we were able to narrow down a possible cause.  We noticed it ONLY happens when there is music playing (i.e. theme music to a show etc). This happens regardless of the source being played on the TV… streaming netflix content or watching Live or DVR content from DISH Networks via their STB. Oddly enough, the issue DOES NOT occur when playing/streaming music from mobile device or networked content. I did submit a diagnostic report on November 18, 2020 @ 11:39pm PST within a minute of it happening. Report #: 301589063I am able to consistently reproduce the issue if an audio recording is requested.  Thank you in advance!-Harry

Hi - I just got the Sonos Arc and have been using my TCL 65 R625 and its HDMI Arc (there is no eARC) to link into my new Sonos speaker. When playing select content from the embedded Roku OS in the TV on Vudu, Netflix, and Disney+, the Sonos Arc app will display the Dolby Atmos logo and under system settings it will say “Audio In: Dolby Atmos.” My question is does that mean the speaker is for sure getting the transmitted Dolby Atmos signal from the TV? The reason I ask is that I do not hear the upward facing speakers firing during these movies/shows so I just want to make sure that I am actually getting the experience prescribed. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.   

Hi,Since my TV does not have ARC, I have it hooked up to my Beam via optical cable. My source is an Apple TV 4K, connected to the TV via HDMI. Sometimes when I start videos (YouTube, Netflix), there is a few seconds where the video plays, but there is no sound. After the sound comes on it is stable, so it really happens only when starting.I guess either the TV or the Beam needs some time to realize that sound is coming in and processing it.Does anyone have some insight where the problem may be and how I could get rid of it?Regards, Robert

Hi,I am using an Sony KDL-40E5510 with an Apple TV 4K. The Apple TV is connected via HDMI to the TV, and control of the TVs on/off and volume via the Apple TV remote works fine.Now I would like to add a Sonos Beam to improve audio quality and am unsure what is the best way to connect the Beam to the other devices. Ideally I would want to be able to control the Beam’s volume via the Apple TV remote and avoid using Bluetooth.The TV does not seem to have a HDMI ARC port, at least nothing is mentioned in the manual or on the rear where the ports are. It does have an optical out. Would an optical connection include a volume control, or would I have to manually control the volume on the Beam?How about a HDMI splitter that sends the signal from the Apple TV to both the TV and Beam?The other option seems to be Airplay? I guess then the Apple TV would for sure be able to control the Beam’s volume? However it seems to me that this would be the most complex and thus most error prone way of integr

So I am new to Sonos.  Have always used a Receiver - front, surround and rear speakers.  With the Pioneer Elite receiver - I could isolate and hear the test sounds of each individual speakers.  Now with the ARC soundbar - the front and center speakers are physically in the sound bar.  Is there a way to test the working ability of the individual front speakers and the center speaker? ThanksBHB 

Hey guys… this may just me being particular… but it seems since the latest upgrade that the center channel is a bit on the low volume side.  Seems I have had to turn down the surrounds and raise the volume to have it to really hear voices without being washed out.   I have the sub/ones/arc setup.   not a huge deal and maybe be just me… but just curious if anyone else may have noticed this.  Thanks

I setup surround sound several years ago with a Sonos Playbar and 2 x Sonos Play 1s and wanted to replace one Play 1 with the Sonos One to use with Airplay specifically but also Alexa if I wanted. Alas, upon purchase, I have found they are not compatible and I’m unable to do this. Somewhere in your documentation you should mention that it is not possible to pair speakers, particularly as I wasn’t even aware that the Play 1 and Sonos One were different beasts. A beast indeed.

I have single-sided deafness so don’t need the full surround sound experience.  I would however like to add one single Sonos One to my ARC+Sub Gen 3 setup.  The app doesn’t seem to only let you pair surrounds as a pair.  Any way to pair just one?

Apologies for posting a very basic question but could someone from Sonos please advise what my TV sound settings should be please in order to get the best out of the Sonos Arc.All updates done, Arc HDMI port  in use on the Sony AF9. I'm advised by Richer Sounds that eArc is enabled via updates.   Source is Sky Q 2TB box; AV setting on the Sky Box is Dolby+Sub connected as well. Thank you  

Sometimes like today I got up turned on the TV and tried to play something from my Apple TV which is connected to my Sony X800H tv.  The Sony via hdmi and ARC port are connected to my Beam.  Several times the app would not see the Beam.  Turned iPhone 8 off and on, powered off the tv, the Beam (not in order), using the Sony remote switched to Internal speakers, then to Audio system or external speakers. prior to this morning i had put the Apple tv to sleep, not off, and did not power off the tv.  in the middle of all this I wiggled the hdmi cable connection to the Beam.  Aftr all that I have audio on my Beam from the Apple Tv app through the Sony ARC port
