I had a problem with Google Assistant on my Sonos One and Beam. I was unable to play Pandora Music on my Sonos by saying ‘Hey Google….’. My Sonos App was working and if I used the App, I could play my music. However, If I said, ‘Hey Google, Play Beatles Radio on Pandora’, the reply would be, ‘Sure, Playing Beatles Radio on Pandora’. This was immediately followed by, ‘Sorry, Something Went Wrong’. Previously, I had no issues. Now, every time I tried, I got the same reply. So, I did the following:Restart Google Wi-Fi NetworkFactory reset of Google Wi-Fi NetworkRe-installed all of my Sonos productsRe-installed Google Assistant on my Sonos productsI repeated the following several times over a period of 2 weeks.I contacted the Chat function of Sonos and they had me uninstall and reinstall Google Assistant. Google Assistant worked fine, with the exception of the request to play Music. I was given a ticket number and told to call the following day (I chatted on Sunday, the technicians
Hello everyone,I’ve received my Sonos One (Gen 2) yesterday, and overall I’m happy with the product. There’s just an issue I’m having when asking Google to play a radio station (in the Netherlands). I’ll post my findings and my current solution/workaround below. When asking “Hey Google, speel Qmusic” I get the response “Ok, ik speel Qmusic op TuneIn”. All good you’d say. Next I hear TuneIn starting, but then it starts playing an American radio station. The same problem occurs with any other Dutch radio station.Findings:1) Contact with support didn’t help much, but they confirmed it’s an ongoing issue between Google and Sonos. Lately it was working, but reports have started coming in since beginning of June about this specific issue. 2) All my locations in Sonos, Google Assistant and my Phone are set to the Netherlands. So the systems should know I’d like a Dutch radio station. 3) Qmusic has a FM frequency of 100,7 in the Netherlands. The radio station I hear is ‘Life 100,7’ in America.
When I ask “Hey google play abc on Youtube Music” it replies “Sure playing abc on YT music” but then puts on a completely different song. Sometimes it will get the artist or album right, but never the song.
Hey gents,I own a lot of Sonos products, i have stopped counting. We, our familie have always loved these products. But today, we did somthing we should have done a long time ago. We disabled the build-in Google Assistant in all our Sonos products, and put up a Google mini and set the speakers with the disabled Google Assistant as the default speaker. So thank for the extra power consumption and the extra taken power-outleds in these harsh climat and green times….. But! This has brought peace and balance into the entire house again. Everything works perfect with this setup. And i don´t care what and who says this is a Google issue, or Sonos issue. This product was put on the marked with a build-in assistant that Sonos choose, so the complaint goes to Sonos. This functionality worked perfect some years ago, slowly it degraded with from understading slobby voice commands, to you must have a masters degree in correct linguistic. A very short example could be to tell it to play music: “Ok go
I am curious if anyone else is experiencing this. When I ask Google Assistant to play the radio station WXXI she repeats the action but replaces the “WXXI” with “WXC”. The correct station actually plays so it is not a real big issue, it’s just weird. My kitchen speaker does it every time while my basement and bedroom speakers do it maybe 30-40% of the time. All other voice control actions are repeated correctly. I have had the speakers for about 4 years and this started about 6 - 9 months ago I think.
I bought a Sonos Arc with a subwoofer. I have several small Google speakers, I can't put Spotify music on the arc and the Google speakers at the same time. I can't create groups, whether on Google Home, Sonos or Spotify (which sends me to the Sonos app) Any solutions?I want to group Sonos speakers with Google speakers but it doesn't work in the Google Home app
So over the last year Google Assistance on sonos (regarding spotify in particular) has been pretty buggy.. now it's completely useless. The response to any/every question I ask now, mainly regarding spotify, is "I'm sorry, I dont know how to help with that" I have 3 other google devices, if I ask them to play spotify on the sonos, no problem, works perfectly. Any way to fix this? Pretty frustrating that the $50 google speaker works flawlessly compared to this $600+ speaker
I was quite frankly shocked that the new and improved Move 2 actually has diminished functionality compared to its predecessor. It’s jarring to discover that a new generation of technology is less integrated, less compatible and less useful. Like many in this community, I’ve set up a vast wireless system complete with several smart devices and Sonos has always been an integral component to controlling the entire system. I hope that this will be resolved, otherwise perhaps the original Move and all of the older Google Assistant compatible Sonos speakers are the better solution. This is a real shame since great audio quality is what we’re here for, but not without the utility we’ve come to expect from Sonos. Thanks so much.Perry
Hi I have a weird issue. For years I have been able to turn on/off my TV through voice command using google assistant on my Sonos One. Suddenly this has stopped working, and the google assistant in Sonos says “Sorry unknown error has occured on [name of my chromecast]” (this error might not be precise, I have translated it from my native language). I am able to for example pause/unpause the chromecast using voice command. If if say the exact same turn on/off command using the Assistant app on my phone the TV turns on/off. I have tried unlinking/removing my assistant both in Google Home app, and in the Sonos. Linked it again, and went through the setup process, but the same error occurs. I have also tried renaming my Chromecast (found that advice in a similar thread), but same result. Both my Sonos One and Chromecast has newest firmware. If i go to https://myactivity.google.com/ and filter on assistant, I can see the command, and here it also says that unknown error has occured. Anyone
Is there anyway to get Google Assistant working on the Era 100?
Hi, first time here.I have a problem when trying to play a radio station with Google Assistant on a Sonos One.Trying to play “SR P3” a swedish radio station through the voice command “Hey Google, play P3” and it worked without a problem until 1 month ago but now it only starts a spanish radion show without the text “P3” in the title. It works without problem on my phone and open the right radio station in TuneIn.I have tried to unlink and link TuneIn and also tried using it with out TuneIn-account synced to my Sonos. Searched the forum but couldn’t find any problem like this, or maybe my search was bad.Does anyone have som idea what the problem can be?
Help!If I go to cast music from my phone and tap that cast icon, my soundbar+sub doesn't show up in the list of devices, but rather, only if I further tap the 'Airplay and Bluetooth devices'. You might be thinking, well yeah, you didn't set it up in Google Home. Yet, I did, and when I go directly into the Google Home app, I can see it listed there among my other speaker devices. It seems like I have to choose between soundbar+sub (via 'Airplay and Bluetooth devices') or my other speakers (Google Home devices). How do I get the soundbar+sub to show up alongside my other google home devices when I go to choose which devices to cast to?Is it possible that Airplay somehow claimed ‘ownership’ and I need to disable the Airplay connection and reestablish the connection only via Google Home (somehow?). I’m grasping at straws here. Please and thank you,Keven
I am constantly getting the “I can’t reach the internet right now” from Google Assistant (GA) running on both my Sonos One speakers. GA on my phone has no such issues and neither do three Google Home Minis in my home. The speakers themselves have Wifi connections because I can use the Sonos app to play musing on them with no issues. Suggestions? Tried to reconnect GA but now it stuck on “This may take a minute. if its taking too long, try again”.I’m using Nest wifi pro. had no problems with my sonos system for years…
Hello!I’ve recently had to redo my home network from scratch which unfortunately included my Sonos Play:5. But it just doesn’t seem to work anymore, I’m following all instructions, factory reset all involved systems, updated all apps, Sonos works fine on the Sonos app but it refuses to link to the google assistant. Google home app → Devices → Set up a device → Pick Sonos → Link account, continue → [here I come to login.ws.sonos.com]Continue → Allow google to control your sonos, Okay → [oauth-redicrect.googleusercontent.com, blank page with a link saying “Return to app” that doesn’t load anything]Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks to anyone reading this.
Today Google Assistant on my Sonos speakers started adding “Sorry, I didn’t understand” in response to many commands, even though the GA activity log shows that it heard the command correctly and in many cases did actually execute it correctly. The same commands continue to work fine on every other Google Home and Google Assistant speaker - only commands via Sonos produce this problem.Sonos, this dispute with Google is getting pretty tiresome. I hear you’ve been making podcast comments about not wanting to invest in updates for Google Assistant. Funny how every other old non-Sonos speaker with Google Assistant doesn’t seem to be having the same problems. Isn’t it about time you just came out and admitted that you’re going to drop support for Google Assistant because you got into a legal spat? Don’t worry about upsetting your customers, we’re already angry.
After asking something from Google Assistant, Sonos or Google Assistant stops listening. On Google devices I had the chance to have a follow up question or keep talking to google, like in a normal conversastion:Simple example: - Hey Google, set a timer for 3 minutes.- OK a timer was set for 3 minutes.- Thanks!- I’m honored to serve! Now on Sonos this never happens anymore, because Sonos stops listening after it set the timer.Doest anyone know why is this?
I set up voice match through Google Assistant. on my Sonos One and started having issues, so then turned it off. Now the Google Assistant will not play spotify or add to my lists. It keeps saying to turn on personal results. When I try to turn on personal results through my phone, it automatically toggles it to OFF again. I’ve rebooted, deleted, unlinked, relinked etc. The issue is just sticking. Please help to fix this Assistant bug.
Hi Everyone, Sonos move with google assistant and YouTube music premium. While playing a song if you ask assistant to play the next song or ask what is the song name. It says nothing is playing.Anyone getting the same issue? Sonos is on the latest firmware as of 2023 July. Thanks !!
Whenever I play music from my phone, I ALWAYS play to all speakers. It would be convenient for me to pair with one of my Era 100’s and have the app already know I’m going to select all my speakers
Hi.I understand that Google Assistant (GA) has been unable to play BBC Radio 4 for about 2 years now...despite the fact that Sonos supports BBC Sounds. I don’t want to use my phone to command listening to the radio, esp if I’m doing something in the kitchen. What’s interesting though, is that if you ask GA for BBC Radio 4 it serves up BBC Radio Jersey. So, something is happening, there’s a matching process going on in google somewhere and it finds a near neighbour. Does anybody know who to put pressure on in Google to nudge this over the line?eg.
Hello, guys Has anyone experience the same :when using google assisnant to play music, it keep saying ”Sorry, the media content isn’t available for your YouTube music subscription” but I have youtube premium account linked.ok, fine, I tried Apple music then, it again keep saying “ it looks like Apple Music isnt currently supported on bathroom”what I try to fix it is:reset and reinstall the app X relink my youtube music account X re connect my sonos one X reinstall google assisstant and add google assistant to my sonos one again XI tried all above and it wont work, so I choose to change to Alexathe fun part is when I adding Alexa, it ask me to log in, and the page derect me to is a blank page, Does anyone experience the same issue when adding Alexa? or any solution for it?I have nearly 10 sonos in my house, and it gives me a really good music experience, but this APP is really driving me crazy. If you have any idea how to fix this, please let me know. Thank you for your help. guy
Great that Sonos/Google is working again, however now I can’t stop music or radio (TuneIn) playing using the “Stop” command. It used to work. The error message I get from Google Assistant is: Nothing is currently playing.I don’t have any problem telling Google Assistant to play music or radio. Has anyone else experienced this?
In the last week my Sonos One stereo pair running Google Assistant has started giving me this message frequently when I request to play, pause, resume or stop something. Sometimes it’s stuck on this error - I can ask it repeatedly and keep getting the same response. That’s very annoying when it’s playing a stream and I’m telling it to STOP!!!Google Assistant itself is not affected as far as commands not involving Sonos streaming - it only affects media streams starting or stopping. The Sonos app is unaffected. Even when GA is refusing to start or stop a music stream repeatedly because “Sonos is not available”, the Sonos app has no problem doing it, and correctly shows the streaming status of the speaker.I can also ask my nearby Echo Dot to play or stop music on Sonos, and it works fine.So which side is at fault here, Google or Sonos? At one point I tried unplugging and replugging the primary Sonos One speaker of the pair. When it came back up, it would only flash red when I said a “Hey G
Hi allI just purchased a Sonos Move and I've been asking for a song via voice to play on YT music premium.Eg. OK Google, play Pearl Jam - Alive. This plays the song no problems however once the song finishes the music just stops. Can the Sonos keep playing other random similar music like my Google Home mini does. Is there some kind of setting to enable or Sonos doesn't do this natively? I’ve seen a topic 2 years ago but there was no resolution in there.
I’m not able to connect Google Assistant to my Sonos Five and Sub (3rd gen). Per the instructions, I’ve linked my music (Spotify) to both Sonos and Google. I also confirmed the Five supports Assistant The instruction page from Sonos shows clicking on Assistant in the Sonos app and then it opening Assistant to complete the setup. Instead of the GA setup page, I get a “Set up Google Assistant” help page which tells me to go to the Assistant App to connect it When I go to the Google Assistant app and link or reconnect my Sonos account, it connects successfully. I can cast to my Sonos but GA doesn’t recognize it as a device I can add When I go to the “Devices” section in Assistant and Home, it only shows the Google devices and Assistant eligible and doesn’t show the Sonos. I get the exact same process on both iPhone and Pixel 7 ProI called Sonos to help and the rep said “It’s a Google problem so call them” which is less than helpful answer. Anyone have a solution to this?
