I have seen old posts about this but no solutions. I have a Sonos One with google assistant. I also have a Roam and Move. None of these speakers are able to play white noise indefinitely like you can on Google Home/Nest products. It will play 15 minutes to 1 hour of ocean sounds and then stop. This is a problem if you use white noise for kids naps or sleep. Sonos phone and email support have not been able to explain to me the problem. I have seen complaints about this with Alexa too and it’s related to some sort of time out.Appreciate if others have the same problem or know what the reason is. I imagine Google also makes full implementation of their voice difficult.
I’ve bought a Beam 2 - first Sonos speaker. And I’m not overly impressed…Sonos have an exellent reputation but I’ve had quite a few annoying issues.Started with the setup not working and having to do it manually. It then decided my location was India and so neither voice assistants worked. When I finally got that figured out I discovered that every time I ask it to play ‘BBC radio 4’ it plays 4 Extra instead. Can’t find a solution to that one (other than the app).I also can’t seem to set up a speaker group with Google speakers. I naively assumed that since they all use Google Assistant that they would all be able to go into a group for synchronous playback.Does anyone know any solutions to these issues? I’m kinda wishing I’d just bought another Google speaker tbh.
For a while now I have had my Play 5 Gen 1 on the S1 system linked as my default speaker when I ask Google Home to play music. I recently bought an Arc on the S2 system. When I try to set it as the default speaker for a different Google Home speaker, it makes me relink my sonos account and the S1 system disappears. As if you can only have one of the systems linked to the google assistant at a time. Anyone found a solution to this? Or is it one or the other only?
I have Sonos speakers with Google Assistant enabled in all of my rooms. So far it worked as expected. My Sonos One and Arc speakers would only respond one at a time. So if I was standing between two rooms, even if two speakers reacted to the “Hey Google” keyword, the response would only come from the one I was standing closest to.Now I have added the Roam as my bathroom speaker. Annoyingly the Roam will always react to my commands. Even if I am standing closer to another speaker. This leads to an echo effect when the Roam plus another speaker are both responding. How can I disable the multi response and make only one speaker react to my voice commands?
I recently bought a Roam and added the Google Assistant. On all my other google assistant enabled devices (non Sonos) I can ask for BBC Radio 4 to be streamed and it works. If I ask the Roam for the BBC Radio 4 stream I get BBC Radio 4 Extra from Tunein.I have the BBC Sounds Service added to my configuration. All the BBC streams on Sonos come from Tunein. Only hand crafted BBC Sounds shortcuts work natively on Sonos as I’m set up at the moment. Tunein is still available as a service.I know BBC Sounds is still in pre-view too. Is this the problem and should I be more patient :-)
Hi everyoneNew Sonos user here. I’ve set my Beam Gen 2 and pair of One SLs (living room) with Google Voice, and I’ve also linked a Google Home Mini (kitchen) to the Sonos in the hope that:I can use the mini in the kitchen to control music on the Sonos system in the living room; I can transfer whatever is playing in the living room to the kitchen and vice versa; and I can duplicate whatever is playing in the living room in the kitchen and vice versa. Please can somebody let me know if this is possible? The problem’s I’m having are:When I try and transfer or duplicate music (e.g. by saying “play in the living room as well” it says it doesn't recognise that command? If I ask the google home mini to play something it defaults to playing on the Sonos system - I would have thought I’d need to specify that I wanted it to play in the living room and it would default to the kitchen?Any input greatly appreciated! Thanks
I only use Pandora as my music streamer, and I can use it when making requests in the Sonos app on my phone, but when I try the “Okay Google” verbal request, it acknowledges my question, but tells me that “It looks like you have to log in again to this media provider.” I’m logged in everywhere I can find. So I’m not sure where it’s wanting me to log in again.
Hello all, I have 2 Sonos systems in 2 different locations. I only use Google Voice service. I'm really disappointed when I switch from one to my other system (House).Sonos recognize the other system where I'm connected to. But I cannot set up Google Voice with Sonos app config.I'm always obliged to enter into Google Voice app and then make recognized the new system, and at the end I come back to Sonos to setup the link Sonos for each of my product to Google Voice. It's really f...g process!!!! How do you manage that? Why is n it automatic???Thanks?
Hei I trying to setup my google assist by using the following setupSONOS One SL (Kitchen) SONOS ONE (Dinning room) SONOS ONE SL (Living room)Dining room and living room are grouped in SONOS app The issue I would like google assist to reply on all SONOS devices is that even possible? (If yes how should it be done) Thanks
I have a surround system with an Amp, two cabled front speakers and two Sonos One surround speakers. As default Sonos chooses the left Sonos One (surround) as the speaker used for interaction with Google Assistant. It would be more convenient for me to use the RIGHT Sonos One surround speaker for this. How can I change this setting?
Why Sonos has google assistant but won’t let me play Apple Music, accounts appear to be linked correctly
I have just set up a new Sonos account for a new Sonos One (gen 2) but when trying to add it to Google Home (following the steps outlined here https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3486 as well as attempting to add directly from the Google Home app), I get an error message saying that this is not available in my country. As per this article https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3491 this should not be the case. I have my address set in both the Google Home app and in the Sonos account to the UK. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos app (as this is the only piece of advice that seems to be available online.
Hello, Is it not possible for my Sonos SL to play music together with my nest mini and nest hub screen? I know is possible to control my Sonos via google. RegardsMathias
Hi community, (and sonos dev team I hope )I find two post regarding this issue but I can’t get any solution about it…Google Assistant come with a great feature named “Voice Match” that permit multiple users from a same house to retrieve custom data from their own data account (Google Home can share device to different Google account invited in a “house” and retrieve custom information from calendar and other)When I enable the Google Assistant on my Sonos One, I’m able to add the “Voice Match” feature on the Google Home app from the Google account that owned the Sonos One device. When another Google member from my house try to enable the “Voice Match” feature, they are able to list the Sonos One but the get an auth error about an auth check failure. The same test work on Google Nest device.Any idea on that ?there is some picture about that issue :Working (account that own the Sonos device)Not Working (another member from the house) Moderator Edit: Removed images with personally identif
Hello!Apparently Sonos now support Google home routines in their google assistant implemetation which is great :)However, when I start the routine “Good night” and the choosen sounds has been playing for the standard 1 hour duration, the assistant suppendly speak up and says somthing like “I dont understand this command!”.This is very annoying since this is the sleeping mode so to say and you dont want to wake up by this sound. I had a pure google speaker prior to the sonos one and that one did not have this issue. It is like the assistant doesn’t understand the command but the routine is play anyway and the error message is postponed until the routines has played.Note that this is the swedish version of the assistant. I have successfully connect a Sonos One (actually more than one speaker) to Google Assistant. Give the issues I was having with the Move, I did factory reset on one of the Sonos Ones and subsequently “reconnected” it to Google App so know that it can be done in this environment. That said I have not been able to complete task on Sonos Move. Move is visible and works on Sonos App and is Blue tooth connected to my IPhone. When I go through the Google voice activation process the following occurs…. Select Room - (Select Sonos Move) Sonos Application then takes me to Google App where a message appears at bottom of IPhone “Device Setup in Process try again later”. I push “Try Again” button on IPhone. Google App then looks for my device - “Sonos Move” appears and I push “NEXT” blue button. “Allow this device to use your Google Assistant - Sonos Move”….Push “ALLOW” blue button. Google App then goes into a search mode “Connecting to device”….where a message appears “there may b
Hello sonosYou keep "solving" all these threads about multiple streams started from Google/Alexa by pointing the finger to google/amazon. Sonos is a big company and you use voice control as a major selling point as you do with multiple room playback. This is very disappointing! Are you working on a solution?(I use spotify premium)
Just picked up a Beam (Gen 1). For the life of me, I can't set it up as a Google smart speaker. I am able to link my Sonos and Google accounts, but when I try to use the Google Assistant app to set up the Beam for use as a smart speaker, the Assistant app (iOS) literally just crashes. The Assistant app recognizes the Beam, but then instead of finishing up the setup process, it just closes. Tried on my iPad - same result. I posted on /r/sonos, and at least one other person is having this issue.
With regular google assistant devices, if I say “turn on the lights” it will turn on lights in the same room. With the Beam, the same command will turn on lights in the whole house. Likewise I can’t control the thermostat of the room that contains the Beam. It changes all of them. What am I missing? The Beam is definitely in the right room in Google Home.
Hi! I've recently got an Ikea Symfonisk Bookshelf because of the great design and quality hoping to use it along with my google chromecast and assistant in order to form a streaming group with each one of them in different rooms. However, I can't find any way to sync the products since Sonos doesn't have the voice services available in my country. The thing is that I'm only really interested in using all three devices for streaming music together so I'm looking for a way to be able to add the Sonos Symfonisk in my Google Home app only as an additional speaker, I don't need the voice service at all. Does anyone know any solution? I'm unfortunately considering returning the Symfonisk unless I can find a way to solve this problem.
I'm using Sonos roam and Google assistant. Previously when using Google home mini, whenever I asked him to play one specific song, he automatically started a radio/queue and kept playing similar songs. When I ask Google assistant on Sonos roam to play a song he makes no queue. Just plays this one song and stops. Any suggestions?
Got the speakers based on voice command and True Tone….only to find out that this functionality is not available in NZ….I was also looking to add these speakers to a group using Google home, also not available in NZ…I now have a nice pair of Dumb speakers…Is there a workaround or hack?
I must admit to wanting to ditch the Sonos roam because of a few silly things that are annoying me - a lot!I use Google assistant, have been for years - so I was very happy to know I could use it with the Sonos roam - however...it isn’t great is it?Example - I say: Hey google, stop playing in one hour. It tells me it can’t set a sleep timer when there is no media playing! There is media playing.I ask to play a specific song - it doesn’t - it takes me to a playlist - always. When I plug the google home hub in and use that - to compare...it works perfectly and does everything I ask.Why is this so?
Sonos one with google assistant. Continuously stating something went wrong please try again lter diagnostic 1486348538
When will Sonos be able to play Apple Music using Google Assistant? The functionality is available through the Google home app. I know I'm just being a brat here but I really want this. I hate using Alexa but at least she works with Apple Music.
