How do I get Sonos Beam to control devices in the same room?

With regular google assistant devices, if I say “turn on the lights” it will turn on lights in the same room.

With the Beam, the same command will turn on lights in the whole house.

Likewise I can’t control the thermostat of the room that contains the Beam. It changes all of them.

What am I missing? The Beam is definitely in the right room in Google Home.

I think the Google groups/rooms don’t work (yet) with Sonos. Have you tried including the room name in your instruction? Hopefully that should work.🤞

The room name works fine. It just shouldn’t be necessary when the device is *in* the room. It’s a shame that’s not sorted yet.
