Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I’ve got a home wireless network, and another Starlink-powered wifi network in my Sprinter van.I want to be able to, well, move two Sonos Move 2s between those two networks -- use it at home when I’m at home, and use it on the road when I’m in the Sprinter.This has proven really, really vexing. It’s not immediately clear if this is even possible to do this. After a bunch of research I learned that I can register more than one wifi network as “trusted” in the app.When I registered a second network as trusted, my Move disappeared from the primary network. I got a “system not found” error in the app.I then tried to re-register the Move 2 on the original network. The app found one of the Moves but not the other one.I had to do a factory reset on the Moves to get them to work on the original network again.Am I missing something? Is there an easier way to use the Move on more than one network?

Hello,Ex sound engineer here who is desperately trying to get a Sonos configuration to work and stay in sync. I am very sensitive to things being out of sync, especially after working in mastering. I have an ASUS 11000xt Pro router connected to a 10gbe switch which is connected to a 2.5gbe switch that has all Sonos equipment attached to it. All components are connected through Ethernet (cat6). Initially I used airplay 2 to stream to each speaker individually through iTunes on Windows 11 Pro. I used to have the Ones and they seemed to say in sync reasonably well to my Sonos enabled receiver, the Onkyo TX-RZ50. I remember some issues, but nothing like what happened when I decided to upgrade to the Era 100s. These speakers always stay in sync with each other but would often get out of sync with the receiver when on WiFi. As others have experienced, I continue to receive the "The device where the music files are stored may not be powered on" error when I attempt to index my library. It begins to index, then craps out with the above error message which is not helpful and not even true as my library is right on my MacBook where the Sonos app resides.My library has about 10,000 songs. It is curated from my CD collection and iTunes market. My library is currently being managed by Apple in one share file. I leverage comments and grouping info to create smart playlists.I see no practical way of splitting up this library into multiple share files -- honestly that is a ridiculous proposal suggested by Sonos support.It is also suggested that cumulative meta data has a limit…. does anyone know how to assess if this is really the case? And if it is the problem, it is technically solvable. 10,000 songs with meta data is “little” data compared to what can be handled in today’s “big” data world.Does anyone have addit

I have a Samsung TV in my screened in porch with an HDMI cord (in the eARC port) connected to a Sonos Amp inside which is also connected to two in ceiling speakers.  I am having trouble figuring out how to get sound from the Tv to come through the ceiling speakers. 

Can’t get my system upgraded to Sonos 2 (finally decided to make the move after putting off the huge investment for this long).  I’ve removed all the incompatible devices,  The System Compatibility Check option in S1 is greyed out.   I have 2 Playbars with Subs and Sonos1’s I left in my system.  I could see them both in the S1 app, but when I go to the S2 app, it says nothing can be found.  Tried a factory reset on one of the playbars and then put it in pairing mode (I hear the tone but S2 still says no products found.). Both playbars are using wired connections.  I can still see the second Playbar in S1 (but the one I factory reset is no longer in S1).     Also, whenever I try to Check for Updates in the S1 app, is says my app needs to be updated and takes me to the App Store for the S2 app.  I’ve deleted and redownloaded the S1 app to make sure I have the latest.   Not sure where to go next.   I wanted to make sure these systems move to S2 before replacing all my other setup with S2

For a long time , I have been waiting for Sonos to release a remote control for their products. Not one on a smart device. I do not always want to look for my phone , unlock my phone, find the app and look through a music service to play music. Is there any word on the development of a physical remote with basic commands and music presets on it? I know of one new company that is currently making connected amplifiers that does this and they are doing well. Any idea if Sonos would consider something so simple yet useable? 

How can I set my own preferences in the bass, middle and high-sounds? 

Hi,Recently noticed my Gen 1 Play5 has begun to make static/crackling noises when in standby mode. Not noticeable when playing music through the speaker but there’s a faint electric noise as soon as the music stops. The noise doesn’t go away.The unit also heats up on the back, which makes me suspect some kind of an issue with one or several electrical components. Anyone else with similar problems? MPO

I have recently changed WiFi network and have been unable to connect my play1. It seems to be added to the new network when connected by Ethernet but then when disconnected can’t be found on the new system??

I have a sonos amp, arc, sun and 2 ones and have a turntable connected to the amp. This has worked in the past with essentially 2 systems connected ie the amp and then the speakers. Since the app has come out I have had difficulty with this and finding the speaker set up. The amp is there with line in but the speakers seem to have disappeared from the system. I have tried to reset these and they can’t be found. Has anyone else had this problem or something similar

Hi Everyone, I have just upgraded my Playbar to an ARC as I bought some ACE headphones. At the moment, in my Home Theatre set up I am using 2 Ones as the rear speakers. I have been reading articles that lead me to think that I should swap the Ones for Play 3s. Is this a waist thing to do? Would it give me better sound?  I already have the Play 3s so it won’t cost me anything. thanks in advance, Matt 

Why cant they just stop messing with Sonos !!!!!!!I have an original system used as a surround system for the TV and grouped with other rooms.I bought this due to being able to play directly from my phone around the home and spent alot of money on this system only to find that now after some years this function has been taken away and now the library is no longer available from my PC !!!!!!!I very nearly bought the Bose system but for the fact that the Sonos was truly wireless, except the power leads of course, I cant even use the old software to run the system from my phone which worked perfectly until the update.I settled for having to use my desktop to now play music around the home but the new update has now removed my library from the system and will not allow me to reinstal it.Can anyone tell me of a way to go back to the old software or a way to get the system to play my music library from the PC again ????I am at a loss here and strongly recommend anyone to think hard before sp

I recently reconnected my Sonos to a new network but my Play1 which I use in a sleeping room doesn’t turn off the status light.  I had it off previously - but there doesn’t appear to be an option in hardware.  Any ideas? 

I’ve connected a sonos sound bar  to the router and now can’t connect to the samsung television.I have connected the soundbar to the TV via the ARC socket but it still doesn’t connect.What am I doing wrong? 

I have tried to connect my shared music library with te Sonos app. The path worked well. But than I had to fill in a username and pass word.My question is which type (apple, Sonos, iTunes, etc) user name and pass word I have to fill in? I have no clue which type to fill in. Kind regards fort any help

I’m trying to play “Fooled Around and Fell In Love” from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 soundtrack. The app just keeps skipping to “I Want You Back”. The album won’t play in order either. I’ve tried removing the NAS location and adding it back again. Same exact problem. Why did SONOS make such huge changes? Everything about their system has turned to crap except the sound for watching movies; which is still slow to respond. For years everything was working great then someone had the great idea of this 2.0 forced upgrade! I can’t enjoy my music library on the system I paid a shit ton of money on!I’ve been running this library off my NAS for the past 4 years before it started having problems with the “amazing” new application updates.

Hi, I have just  got a new router and had to reconnect my play 1 via ethernet cable. Had to factory reset the sonos, the app picks up the play 1 but as soon as I disconnect the cable it loses the connection. Youtube videos say to go in advance settings, but there  doesn't seem to be such an option on the app I have. In the setting there is an option to enable or disable  the WiFi and the enable WiFi part is ticked. Any ideas please 🙏  thanks in advance.

I am still running S2 V16.1 and using a Samsung tablet. I'm selling a Play 5 that is not on my system and I want to make sure it is working before I move it on.If I add it to my system will I be forced to update? And, if so, can I download the new app to my phone and leave the old app running on my tablet.

I’ve seen a previous post about this from a year ago but no resolution. I have just noticed that when I add the Billie Eilish album “Happier than ever” to my Sonos queue the tracks that are marked as “Explicit” will not play.  They appear in the playlist but are skipped over and cannot be selected directly. I have tried:Checking the setting in the Spotify account:  “Allow playback of explicit rated content” is enabled.Checking the setting in the Sonos Android app (the new one).  “Filter Explicit Content” is disabledSwapping to a different Spotify account:  No differenceRe-authorizing the Spotify account:  No changeDeleting and then re-connecting the Spotify account:  No change. If I play the album in the Spotify App then the Explicit tracks play as I would expect.If I start playing in the Spotify App and then connect to Sonos via the “Connect to a device” option in the Spotify App then the Explicit tracks play as I would expect. These tracks used to play, as recently as a couple of wee

Here are the problems I am having.It appears to me you can only add one song at a time to the queue.  I cannot find a method to add a whole folder.  How lame.  Update:  It does appear you can play a folder from the music library search results.  Only one folder, not folder and subfolders. I cannot find a search function, except for the music library.  For example, searching the Amazon playlists for a particular list.For me, I will probably continue to use my Sonos gear until they break the Windows app.  At that point I will probably move onto a different product.  Last I saw Sonos says they are discontinuing the Windows app.  The Android app does not hold a candle to the Windows app.Seems to me that Sonos does not understand what attracted users to their products and are working hard to alienate their users.  Good luck with that as a business model.

I’ve been using a single Play 3 and two One SL as two separate groups in the same room to create a 2.1 surround sound. Adjusting the volume balance manually is a pain.Is there a way to put all three speakers in a group together? ...and if not, why not?

Evening all. I should be seeing this but I’ve gone Sonos blind :-)We have a home office that we’ve added a kids gaming environment to. There is a Port in there that currently feeds a large old Pioneer AVR to an outside surround system. It’s used in the Summer a bit but the rest of the year just sits there in really. I’m wondering if I can switch the Port O/P to either a) the Pioneer and/or b) a small Sony 5.1 system in the Office? But I cannot quite get my head round it. I guess some form of RCA switch?The 5.1 is used with an optical feed from a PS4 and an Xbox and works fine. I don’t need the 5.1 for the Sonos, just a vehicle to output music and audio books etc.Would appreciate any clarity or explanations what would work please. I’m just not quite piecing it together …. age I think ! :-) Many thanks in advance

I have been using my ARC and Sub connected by wire and 2 Play 1’s as wireless surrounds for a while.  recently (the last 2 weeks or so), the sound cuts in and out on the Play’1s.  I have tried removing the Play 1’s as a surround and adding them back as well as resetting my modem.  They will play for a while using Spotify, then start cutting out after a while.  (Intermittent).  This does not seem to occur on just Spotify though.  The subs do this no matter the distance I set them nor the “Group Audio Delay” I set.  Volume limit is off.  Night music is off, but Spatial Music is toggled on.  Am I missing a troubleshooting option here?
