Controllers and Music services

This happens to me all the time. Amazon Music stations that I have added to My Sonos seem to lose their connection to the station at Amazon. When I go to play the station from My Sonos, I get “Requested operation failed. Please try again.” I can go search for the station and play it from there fine. If I delete the station from My Sonos and re-add it, it plays fine.So I don’t think it’s a networking issue. It seems to be a station identification issue. Sometimes it happens with one or two stations, other times all 10 Amazon stations stop working (again, from My Sonos only)It’s annoying because I have to delete each station from My Sonos, the search for each one individually and add it back.  This happens around once every two or three weeks.Haven’t had any issue like this with Pandora.Any ideas?

My sonos system is connected to netgear Orbi.  I have been using the system for years with no issues.  Now the App both Android (Samsung s22) and Apple (ipad) keep thinking that the system is on a different network.  But I can see the devices are all connected when I log into my router and I can still use sonos via a seperate amazon echo and Alexa voice control to play music. If I power everything down and restart it then it works for a short period of time before again it stops working "sonos and you mobile device must be on the same network" and again my router shows they are on same network and sonos can still ve controlled via voice. My system is Sonos boost connected WiFi ethernet cable to netgear orbi1 x sonos play 12 x sonos play 31 x sonos move1 x sonos  port  

All my Sonos have lost connection bar a Play 5 - All others are saying not compatible with S2 Controller - I dont have an S2 controller and never have upgraded.  Is this the forcing you to change policy ?  I have looked and says re-connect using S1 - I have S1 and there is no option to add devices!!   aaaaaagh

I always have trouble with my Sonos 2 system when I migrate from my summer cottage to my winter home. My computer travels with me: Dell XPS 15 laptop.Running Windows 11 Home.All Music files are stored on my computer.First, Sonos couldn’t find any songs. So I removed the music folders and tried to add them back with a more detailed path. Now it cannot find my computer so it can’t add the folders.My system is a bit of a mess in that I have music stored under 2 different Users. (That’s a problem for another day.) So I think I need to add 2 Music folders.Why can’t Sonos see my computer? I have the app on my iphone too, but that’s no help. Could Sonos possibly be looking at the wrong wifi network? I cannot see where to check that.Please help--thanks. 

I woke up to find that half of my speakers are showing “incompatible” under my S1 app.Controller says there’s an update, but it won’t let me update. I get an “Error 9”.For kicks, I tried to reset my Sonos Move and repair it with the S1 controller. No such luck. The controller won’t let me do anything until it updates (some options grayed out). Stuck here and need some assistance. I REALLY hope I’m not going to have to go through and reset all these speakers.  Any advice or guidance here outside of replacing half my system with S2 compatible speakers? Not ready to do that just yet. Just want everything working as it should. I believe “update automatically”, which I don’t ever recall enabling, may be the culprit.  TIA and please advise. 

Why can’t I play albums I purchased off of amazon.com any more on sonos play: 1 speakers?  This happened two weeks ago.  Now I get an “amazon music station” and maybe one or two tracks.  The rest are tracks from other albums, often similar musical genre.

Morning, Yesterday my Sonos system developed a strange issue. From the desktop app (which I use a lot while working from home) I’m now no longer able to adjust the volume of different speakers independently. I have 3 ‘rooms’:Kitchen (a single Sonos One) Living Room (1 x Sonos One paired with 1 x Sonos One SL, 1x Sub (gen3) Hallway (a single Sonos One)I used to be able to mute and adjust volume of these 3 rooms independently but now when I group them the volume and mute are greyed out. See picture attached (no idea why today hallway is deciding to be selectable). I suspect I’ve accidently pressed something in the iOS app but nothing jumps out when I look through it (I hardly ever use the app). Any help would be great, thanks all in advance! 

I used to be able to search amazon prime from desktop or android app and select individual songs to play from an album or add the whole album to the queue.   I can still search and find the albums, but attempting to play a song results in the playing of the whole album, or completely different music all together.   It is almost like searching pandora for a specific song and getting similar songs in that genre.What changed?

I’ve been on Sonos for about 5-6 years, mostly using Spotify. Six months ago I started Qobuz and recently every song I play is fine for up to 30 seconds then it skips to the next track. On every track I play.I’ve rebooted the router, unplugged my Sonos 5, and temporarily removed my Sonos Move. Nothing has worked. Can someone please help me?

So i was getting really tired of the adds on the Sonos, i cannot switch between stations without being spammed with ads. So up comes Sonos HD Radio, i do a trial and i still hear ads on every station and even still in my own language so it is still targeting me.So even that Sonos HD promises no ads, i think the stations on their own add ads at the beginning too so that means Sonos HD can never deliver because those stations still place ads in front of them making the HD useless in my opinion.The only thing that does work is to just lower the volume to 0% and leave it on, then raise the volume when i want music again. I know this uses up bandwith but hey, people do crazy stuff to avoid those freaking annoying ads.So if anyone has the golden nugget here, please mention it :) excuse me for my “annoyance”Thanks,Erik

Synology DS920+ issues with Sonos.Sonos was working fine with the Sonos Music Library pointing to a share on a Windows 2012 server.Sonos could see a MediaMonkey shared library hosted as a service on a Windows 10 (and 11) PC.Sonos could see a Window Media shared library hosted on a Windows 10 or 11 PC with media streaming enabled. With a Synology DS920+ NAS added:Sonos works with the Sonos Music Library pointing to a share on the Synology NAS, so at least I can play some of my music (my main collection is too big for the Sonos Music Library). I THINK I could do this without the NTMLv1 SMB1 hack below, but may be wrong.Sonos cannot see the Media Server library on the Synology DS920+.Sonos cannot see the Plex Media Server library on the Synology DS920+.Other PCs on the network can see both the Media and Plex servers.My Sony KDL-40W705C can see both the Media and Plex servers.Sonos does not, however, see the Tw

The problem is minor and just started on its own, I do not play this station, it is not a favorite, nor is it a recommendation.FM Revolution is a station on Tune In that is from Buenos Aries. It is not a favorite, I have never picked or played that station. It’s the same dial # as KINK FM in Portland Oregon which I do listen to. 101.9 fm. That is the only thing in common.Yes, it is still showing up on my Arc playbar in the S2 app as the last thing played. This happens most every day and after the TV had been on.Tune In has no phone service support and have not been helpful via email. I am just not sure why this has happened. 

I got a new modem from Vodafone. Sonos one won't connect to the WiFi. All other devices in the house working fine. 

I have Sonos speakers in my gym and need to use a interval timer for some of the workouts. We use android tablets so we can’t airplay and need the freedom of Bluetooth so we can’t line in. Is this possible ?

I am having trouble streaming all my songs in my Apple Music playlists. In my Apple Music app, they are all available and can be played. In the Sonos app, certain songs are “greyed out” and not available. The album artwork is not there either, it has a symbol that looks like the Saturn planet.It’s getting very frustrating using Sonos when all my music is not available.Any help is much appreciated!

hi,i have since a few some issues with independant volume in a groupe. i can change some, but not the others (wich are grey) and don’t know why.my app (computer and android) are updated and the devices are here in the exemple, the last ARC and a play3 (so not a pattern between new and old devices). i can only change cuisine and salon or group but not individualy Bureau or RoamThanks for answers

Hi, I’m living partly in Switzerland and Thailand. At both locations I’m using Sonos. In Switzerland stands my DS214play with my music collection on.I would like to connect my DSplay214 with the Sonos system in Thailand. I tried several version of possible paths when adding a new music library but it never worked. The music is under the path “DSplay214/music/Charlie’s Musik”How do I have to write this link correctly to get a connection?Thanks for your help.Charlieguzzi (chaefeli@bluewin.ch)

I get this error when attempting to re-step my Sonos Music libraryaccess to shared folder on MacBook Pro '/MacBook-pro/music' is  is denied. please check the username and/or the passwordwhat do now?

Has Sonos removed or changed where they showed release notes on updates? I don’t see the section anymore.

On my MacBook Pro it is saying there is a Sonos update available. When I do it I get an error message.    An Unexpected error occurred. Please try again.

How can I get my mp3 files in my Downloads folder to the Music Library on my Sonos system? Thanks for your help!

I'm running Android 13 on a Pixel 5a.  I have the latest version of Sonos, 14.18.2, S2.A while ago I could control the volume from the Android Lock Screen. I've tried everything on every link Sonos has on this topic, still no luck. Any suggestions?  Is this working for other Android users?Thanks. 

Hello. In the last two weeks, sonos won’t play saved albums and says “unable to browse music”.Also, it won’t play any albums once you have searched for them (in the search area) but might play a selected song from the album Or it plays something entirely different. This has also happened to a friend and we don’t know what to do.  Thank you. 

Only started tonight but I'm getting a different album from the one I requested on Amazon Streaming. Tends to be a simliar genera but completely different artist. When I ask for album info I only get one track listed. It isn't the one playing! 

It’s 2022 and Sonos is still dependent on SMB v1!  I just tried making SMB v2 the minimum on my Synology  NAS were my music resides, and Sonos could not access it.  Until I turned on SMB v1 again.  When I did this I got the strong warning shown below. Are there any plans to retire the Sonos dependency on SMB v1?
