I get this error when attempting to re-step my Sonos Music library

access to shared folder on MacBook Pro '/MacBook-pro/music' is  is denied. please check the username and/or the password

what do now?

Perhaps see if this works for you…

  1. Open System Preferences on your Mac.
  2. Click on Security > Privacy.
  3. Under the Privacy tab, click on Full Disk Access.
  4. Check the box next to Sonos Library Server.
  5. Open the Sonos app.
  6. Update your music library by going to Manage > Update Music Library Now.

Navigate back to Music Library menu under the Select a Music Source section, and (hopefully) you will now be able to browse your library.

I’d also be tempted to remove the hyphen from the name of the Mac.

That doesn't work.
First, there is no System Preferences.
I tried System Settings and found Security, Privacy, Full Disk Access
I see the Sonos App but cannot find Sonos Library Server
I clicked to Sonos app to have access then proceed with the attempt to setup music folder with no luck
I am getting a bit frustrated with Sonos App

Did you follow these instructions below:
https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/add-your-music-library-to-sonos

Is the library on an internal or external drive? If it’s external, then also see this link:

It is on my Mb Pro late 2017 model. Here us where Apple Music folder is. I copied direct off of Music
/Macintosh HD/Users/tjsage/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media

When browsing for that and choosing it it never works.

Is there not another folder inside the ‘iTunes Media’ folder called ‘Music’ that you need to select instead?
… and use the same credentials that you use to log onto the MB Pro (if required).

I think I finally got it. Thank you all for the suggestions
