Controllers and Music services

This has been another major issue for us with little to no official remedy from Sonos.Homekit requires this back end update for certain accessories and is in current IOS (non-beta) software. Sonos’ only suggestion is resetting all speakers and re-adding (major timesink) which we’ve done twice, only to have the issue return. Any help from the team or ETA on a fix?

F****** app icon is constantly jumping up and down on my Mac. It takes like three separate interruptions just to get the f***er to install the update. both soundcloud and search function of spotify brokeni can see soundcloud is listed as partial outage ………. i’d say full outage as cant browse or play anything. Also any searches done, dont include spotify in results, which is two major sources of music. please fix ASAP please

I have a music library on a laptop that plays through Sonos.  Every track that I play from the music library has a 10 second dropout around 80 - 90% into each track but only in one room. On my Sonos system, out of the blue I saw that my SoundCloud wasn’t connecting and Sonos was asking me to re-authorize it, which I’d never seen before. Once I tried to, I kept receiving an error 500 message and Sonos wouldn’t allow me to connect.

I have dropped my Pandora subscription and would like to delete Pandora from my Sonos 1.  Any suggestions on how to delete that station?  TIA

Trying to play music from Plex to my sonos. Some albums play, no problem. Some albums i get the following error message. - “Unable to play ‘song title’ - the connection to Plex was lost”Things I have tried-Checked Sonos app for updates Checked Plex for updates. Restart plex. Restart phone Re-authorize Plex account Delete and reinstall plex service. Stop and re-start plex server i have the same problem if I use the app on my phone or my computer. I am able to play these songs through “Plexamp” - which makes me think it is a Sonos problem?My server is hosted on a Synology 920+  

My Sonos apps (Mac OS, iOS) stopped connecting to Spotify sometime this afternoon (CET). Is this a systemwide outage? I can play Spotify directly from my computer and devices, the problem seems to be in the connection between Sonos and the Spotify service.

Hello. I have an existing Sonos system and a new PC.  Play One x 2 , Play 3 X 1 , Play 5 X 1, Soundbar and a Bridge. I’m not keeping the old PC . When I download S1 it asks if I’m connecting to an existing or a new system. I’m guessing I select existing as the devices will all be registered with Sonos ? Computer is new and the old computer will not be on the network in the final system. Router remains the same.

I recently upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S8 to a Google Pixel 7.  On my S8, I was able--by default--to increase the volume of my Sonos smart speakers from the lock screen and unlocked anywhere on my phone.  This was my preference.  Now, on my Pixel, I can only increase the volume of my speakers when I’m in the Spotify or Sonos apps.  Does anyone know how to increase the volume of my speakers instead of my phone’s volume no matter what screen I’m on, locked or otherwise?  Thanks!

Recently I bought a Roam, which I like a lot. However, since then, when the Roam is off or absent,  the Sonos App on my Samsung Tab S8 tablet has started spuriously displaying the message  that my “device needs to be on the same network as speaker, Let’s Fix it”, when it is on the correct wifi network.If I wait for about 1 ½ to 2 minutes, this message goes away and the app functions properly without further action on my part. Since  I usually use the tablet to control my Sonos system, this is very inconvenient. The app does work fine on my Android phone, but for various reasons, this is not a satisfactory solution. Also, m wife has a Samsung Tab S7Plus tablet, and often sees the same problem. Again, it doesn’t happen on her Samsung phone, either.It looks as if the app is confused when it cannot find the Roam, and expresses that by falsely acting as if it is on the wrong network for a couple of minutes, before coming to its senses.Has anyone else seen this, is it a known issue, or what?

Hi all, I have a Samsung A73, and a re-installed Sonos app. The Sonos app doesn't show the Samsung Music folder. I reinstalled the app, gave permission to access Music, but still nothing. Anyone knows the solution? Thanks!Bart

On a completely ‘refreshed’ network, where my Sonos speakers and components are no more than 10 unimpeded feet away from the router (on a 1 gig network), Spotify routinely skips a song (or more) and starts 10 seconds into a song 4-5 songs down on the playlist.Apparently this is a 4-year old problem without resolution. My research indicates people asking this question that long ago and *still* there is no resolution for it. I spent thousands on Sonos gear at this point. That it is incompatible with the world’s leading music streaming service is pathetic. Why not admit that Sonos doesn’t support Spotify?And why do you close off conversations in this support community as if the problem has actually been resolved?

Do any of the Sonos device have direct support for “Tidal Connect” where Tidal is streamed over Wifi, not Bluetooth?

As above.  I have a system that’s been running on S2 well.  A lightning strike killed my Connect controller and I bought a replacement.  But now I’m told that the replacement isn’t compatible, it only works on S1.  By my experience, that’s simply not true.  I’d appreciate some clarification.  Thanks.

Running Sonos 2 on a PC. Also access system on iphone.I don’t play my system all that much. After a break, it never works. “Check for Updates” gets me error 1101 repeatedly. I have unplugged and re-plugged my 4 Connects (strangely, one has a yellow light now, instead of white). I have restarted Sonos several times on both my computer and iphone. I am on the correct wifi network.The system was working a few weeks ago. I haven’t changed anything in my house.This happens a lot and I’m really sick of it. What good is a sound system that constantly breaks down?Please advise...

This is the same as a closed topic, but I am having the same issue, and the solution on the original topic, that of enabling SMB1 on the NAS, is not working for me. I can connect to the share using windows (once I login using the username/password I have created specifically for that share), but Sonos is still reporting an error. It no longer reports the same error it did before I enabled SMB1 - but still an error and still making it impossible for me to use my new DS220+ for Sonos:I am running DSM 7.1-42661 Update 4, and Sonos is the older S1 setup. The not horribly informative error from Sonos is this: Sonos was unable to add the music folderPlease check that the path to the folder, and the username and password if needed, are correct.Reason: Access to the shared folder “\\nasnew\music\_MusicFiles” is denied. Anyone got any thoughts? It’s kinda ironic that I had to upgrade from my old DS508 because Windows deprecated SMBv1 so couldn’t access the DS508 on its not upgradable old versio

Yeah this skipping issue is so finite that it is reproduced like a charm and throws everything to crap. Context: We have a yoga studio and on the studio side we have 6 Play 3’s and Sub Gen 3 and a Boost, in the lobby we have 2 Symfonisk bookshelf speakers. All teachers in the studio use Spotify. The Boost is hardwired to the router and everything else is wireless. The router is a Netgear Nighthawk running speeds I can never fathom to use and wireless connection throughout the studio is insane. I placed the Boost 6ft away from the router and both 6ft away from the Xfinity Modem. We removed our Sonos Connect, plus a Battery backup unit, all to reduce interference. We have over 16 people connected to our Sonos system, something that Sonos wasn’t prepared for apparently, most use cases never exceed 10 users, but we did. However only 1 person is connected at a time, that is it. In addition to the Teacher playing from their phone as a controller, we have an iPad that has Sonos and is connect

Hi all. Up until recently I was able to listen to a French/Canadian radio station called Funk & Co. I could do this via the Tunein music service.However this is no longer possible. I believe it maybe because the TuneIn service has now completely updated and the station has disappeared from TuneIn.On my mobile I can still stream via OnLineRadioBox.The radio station have told me directly that they are availale to stream from here:  https://cast1.torontocast.com:1440/streamCan anyone tell me if it is possible to get access on my Sonos system to the radio station in any way.Many thanks, Alan ( in the UK)

After successful installation of the latest update my SONOS system has become unusable!  When it does actually connect to a music service or even to my local music library, it constantly stops play only to resume a few seconds or even minutes later.  What is going on everything was working fine before this latest update!!!

I understand Apple Music sends AAC 256kbps to my Era 300’s when using AirPlay2 (despite Airplay2 supporting lossless). My question is, does Amazon send Ultra HD to my Era 300’s when using AirPlay2?  If yes, as established elsewhere on the forums, presumably my Era 300’s would downsample and playback at 16 bit 44.1? I prefer Amazon’s app interface and search, so trying to work out if there are any audio penalties to using Amazon’s app plus AirPlay2 vs Sonos S2 app. 

I have a home Sonos system with 4 components..3 speakers and a bridge.2 of the speakers ( not Roam nor Move) turned on by themselves today with no app open on PC or mobile. I then couldn't switch them off by opening app and clicking stop...I had to manually stop them. I have it all on video!! ??????? Huh????

My wife decided to return our Sonos system. Too much money to spend on the whole system. Problem is I’ve unplugged and boxed up the components to return them. I did not think to remove them from my system in the app. Do I have to plug them back in and remove them or can I have them removed by Sonos? Or just let the next person who buys them set them up and they will drop from my account?
