Controllers and Music services

I want to add an app I have in my Android phone in the Services list of Sonos app to cast to my new Sonos system, but can’t find the way. I can only select apps from a closed list. Is there a way? Thank you.

After successfully using Amazon Music on Sonos for a long time I have discovered in the past week that  my full Amazon music library is no longer being displayed. Under Sonos Amazon Artists listing now only goes to the end of the letter “H” while Albums are only listed as far as “L”. Playlists are fine perhaps because I don't have nearly as many. I have had extensive discussions with Sonos and been through all the common fix processes like updating apps uninstalling/installing Sonos/Amazon apps, re booting router etc but the problem remains. Has anyone had this issue and found a solution?   

Hi.After updating to 15.9 I put dark side of the moon on and it kept saying cannot play track unable to connect to Amazon music and would skip to next song.Anybody else had this issue.I have done all the usual stuff.reset etc

How can you send audio from the Google podcast app to a Sonos system of any kind?  Whenever I try to send via the chromecast feature in the Google podcast app I get a message asking me to make sure both my device and Sonos are on the same wifi network.  (The app is not supported within the Sonos app)I get the same problem with many other apps that can send audio/video via chromecast.When I test this with other speakers that support wifi/bluetooth I can always easily connect. I strongly suspect some clunky workaround will be required because Sonos support have been unable to help.  Google support said the problem is on the side of Sonos.

I’ve been having trouble lately finding or accessing Spotify’s ‘Discover Weekly’ on Sonos. Is it just me? The algorithms seem evermore predictable. DW is often pleasantly surprising in its variety. 

Hello everyone,I recently purchased an ERA 300 and the hardware is absolutely brillant; I didn´t think that Dolby Atmos could sound so good with a single speaker. So much that I’m probably going to ditch Youtube Music for Apple Music once my trial period is over. Seriously it’s that good.However, the lack of dedicated Android TV app is a really bizarre omission to me. I know that most people will tell me to buy a soundbar but:Not all of us have the disposable income for that. Not all of us have the means to plug a soundbar. I use, for instance, a projector which single HDMI input is already occupied by a mibox S. And even if I did have the money, and an available HDMI, I would need a 6 meters HDMI cable to connect the soundbar; not really practical. I currently connect the era 300 to my mibox by bluetooth and I experience no delay in the sound, thanks to a built-in compensation I presume. Hi, since late last week, I’m using a Pixel 8 Pro (Android 14).The S2 app connects like a charm and the Sonos widget is behaving just fine when connected tot my WiFi network.But whenever I go outside (or switch to mobile network) and re-enter my WiFi connection, the widget keeps saying: “Not connected to Sonos. Tap here”.  When I tap, the S2 app opens and the widget re-activates.On my OnePlus 7 Pro phone, the Sonos widget immediately notices re-entering WiFi connection and activates back again within seconds.This clearly has something to do with Pixel 8 Pro and/or background services not being allowed, in order to let the widget re-connect.I already excluded the S2 app from the Android battery management, but I’m afraid this doesn’t help. I see no further or in-depth settings that may help to keep the widget polling on reconnecting.Any advise is more than welcome!

Bonjour,il y a quelques temps, je pouvais piloter mes enceintes Sonos depuis mon ordi fixe (et avoir accès à mes morceaux). L’ordi étant connecté en filaire et wifi. Puis j’ai acheté un routeur.Il marche très bien mais impossible de reconnaitre le système Sonos depuis l’ordi.En paramétrant les firewalls, antivirus, routeur, etc, rien n’y fait.Je suis un peu désespéré de ne pas pouvoir utiliser mes morceaux de musique sur mes enceinte et de ne pouvoir le piloter par ordinateur.Quelqu'un à une solution (sans enlever le routeur)?Merci d’avance.Bonne journée.F

Hi. I have just purchased a Synology 224+ NAS and copied my approx 18,000 song Music library across from an old PC that is on it’s way out. All is running fine with Sonos accessing music from the NAS and the Sonos S2 index process completes in a timely manner. The only issue I have is that my approx 30 “Imported Playlists” list is duplicated within Sonos as per the photo “snippet” below.Not a major but does anyone have any clues where the “Imported Playlists” table is built from. iTunes now points at my NAS music share and the playlists only appear once within iTunes as shown below. Ross.

I have just added a second Era:100 to my setup, and have configured the new speaker as a stereo pair in the kitchen with an existing Era:100 in the same room.When I play music from another room (vinyl or cd via a Sonos Port attached to a vintage amplifier) the stereo pair work fine, but when I play BBC Sounds in the kitchen, only one speaker (the original, not the newcomer) plays the stream.I have tried going into the EQ settings in the Sonos app and shifting the balance to the right; this confirms there is no stream to that speaker. The same thing happens when I try Sonos Radio.Both BBC Sounds and Sonos Radio were installed as services before I added the second Era to the setup.Libby was also part of the original set up, and this plays to both speakers. I have rebooted each Era, and have also reauthorised, and removed and then re-added the faulty services, but all to no avail (I also removed and re-created the stereo pair several times during the process of trying to get BBC Sounds to

I used to be able to play music i have stored on my phone and suddenly "this device" option has completly disapered as an option under any tab on the app. I updated by phone and the app, i check permissions, all the file locrion stored on my phone are under music, nothing has changed from when i could play from my phone to now when i cant. This is very frusting as there are some songs i have that arent availiable on streaming services.  How do i fix it?  

Most of the time when I try to use Napster on my Sonos Roam with the Sonos 2 app I get the message “unable to browse music”. Other music sources work fine. Sometimes after trying to connect to Napster three times if finally connects. Is there a way to fix this?

I have several Sonos playlist with up yo 700 songs each. Is it possible to copy an entire playlist from Sonos to Spotify? I understand I can copy individual songs but with large playlists this would be very difficult.  Thank you for your help.

My neighbours sound engineer has just told me that Sonos is updating the system to prevent use of home music library on a computer and you will have to use a music streaming system and pay. He said to be aware that updating the Sonos system will soon remove access to your library!

Hi there, When tapping into my "My Likes" YTM playlist in the S2 app on Android, I get a message "Unable to browse music."This is a large playlist, and another large playlist in my library has the same problem. From Google searching, I've seen reports from about 2 years ago of the same issue, though it appears that it was resolved back then.I've reinstalled the S2 app, and removed and re-added my YTM account. My sense is that this is caused by the 999 song limit in the YTM API.This playlist worked fine up until very recently, and its been well over 999 songs for a long time. I'll guess that either something has changed on the YTM API side, or the approach Sonos is using to workaround that limit (perhaps fetching only 999 songs from large playlists) is no longer working.I expect a response from Sonos might be that it's a YTM problem, and to contact them, but I do hope that Sonos engineers can take a close look at the Sonos side just to be sure.Thanks for great products, Greg

I have a setup at home with multiple Sonos One speakers and another Roam in a separate system/location. Bot systems are mainly used with Deezer. At home with a solid internet connection everything works perfectly. My Roam is in a location with solid wifi but a relatively slow internet connection (<5 MBit/s). Using Sonos Radio or TuneIn works flawlessly. However, Deezer tries to stream uncompressed Hifi audio and due to the slow connection constantly aborts play. When I use Deezer on my phone in that location and stream to Sonos Roam via Bluetooth, the Deezer app on the phone automatically moves down to compressed audio at a lower bitrate, but Deezer on Sonos does not do that. Is there a reliable way to manually force Deezer on the Roam to play compressed audio?

I have the Sonos S2 app on both my iPhone and iPad and fully updated and same login. My phone will only show 1 SL1(set up as bedroom) while my iPad shows all 5 of my speakers (living room surround arc,sub, x2 SL1).  deleted app on phone and reloaded and logged in and no change. Crazy thing is I loaded all hardware using my phone and got the iPad later and loaded the S2 app on there and it seemingly “transferred” all info over but the phone lost the surround sound.   anyone else have that with the same acct on 2 different Apple devices?

Hello, I’m trying to use YouTube Music on my Sonos One (all worked correctly before)It’s asked me to re-authorize app with a 9 digit code. After I enter the code: Access blocked authorisation errorYou can’t sign in from this screen because this app doesn’t comply with Google’s secure browser policy. If this app has a website, you can open a web browser and try signing in from there. Error 403: disallowed_useragentPhone is quite old (Huawei Mate 9) - have tried updating my web browser, still no cigar. YouTube account is not premium. Is this a Sonos issue or to do with my iron age phone? Thanks for your thoughts! 

Sonos works on all of my other tablets, phones, etc… The problem is with my Fire Tablet 7, 9th generation.When I open Sonos on my Fire Tablet then it says it needs updating.   I click on the update button, it goes to the play store, and when I click in the play store to update the tablet doesn’t do anything.  I have tried starting, restarting the app, nothing.On the Fire Tablet, in compatible devices, my Fire Tablet does show up as being compatible.  I renamed it to make sure it’s the correct tablet. It is. Any help?

I can listen to TuneIn, use Amazon music but the app keeps resetting and now wont play YouTube music, it keeps saying the songs are in the wrong format halfway through a song. Nothing has changed in my network set up

*sigh* This app is more trouble than it’s worth.  It’s search feature only allows you to search by specific group like “by song or by artist” and will not search cross category.  Why not just search for anything that matches what I’ve typed in?  This makes it hard to find playlists and indy artists on streaming platforms.  The Sonos related ads that pop up have no way to close without closing the app altogether.  “Add To Calendar” was the only option on an ad wanting me to participate in a Sonos shopping event.  I love my Sonos sound system but dread dealing with this app, so much so I would invest in another product if the controller app was more user-friendly.  There’s no Lock Screen controls either so adjusting the volume requires you to open the app, wait for it to connect and THEN you can adjust the volume or change the track.  There is also a DELAY when doing this as the app has to reconnect to your network each time, so it takes a few seconds for you to control your music.  Each

It’s been happening since spring this year.  It takes me up to 4 tries to change a channel.  I’m playing tune-in and NPR streaming stations.  Everything worked fine for a few years.  But i have to plan around the non-response of SONOS so consistently that I’m thinking of ditching my 4 speakers for something else. It’s the same issue as this person - who did not receive a solution so far as I can tell. 

Hi Does anyone have any recommendations on an external hard drive to use with sonos, I want to transfer all my music to one and use it.

I have Pandora and spotify set up on sonos. By default when I open up a room Pandora is the default. How do I switch to spotify as my music source for a room? When I choose spotify there is no "play" button. My only choice is "spotify" and "shuffle" and when  I choose spotify it plays on my phone which is where I'm using the app. Assume I need to use "shuffle" as 'm trying out the free version of spotify?

Version 15.7 of the Sonos Controller and still no fix for the Apple Music "Song encode incorrectly" Bug  how much longer will we have to wait?
