Controllers and Music services

My SoundCloud Likes are no longer loading in the Sonos app. I get an “Unable to browse music” screen. This has been going on for several day despite me reauthorizing my SoundCloud account on the Sonos app. 

Hi.I have a Sonos 2 soundbars I can access and control it from my Android phone and my Old Windows Laptop.On my old Windows Laptop I have a music folder of MP3 files. I can play these files through my sonos from my Android Phone and Old Laptop.I now have a new windows laptop which I've installed Sonos onto and I can play radio stations and control which Room/Soundbar the music goes to etc.I've transferred the MP3 files from the old laptop to the new ones into a MUSIC folder. In Sonos app on the new laptop, I’ve added the MUSIC folder Sonos etcHowever I now can't see these MP3 files when I use my Android phone.I think I've missed an important setup step to allow my phone to see these files and play them.I can play them fine when playing direct from the new laptop windows Sonos appWhat do I need to do to allow my phone to see the music files on my New Windows laptop. I assume I need to set Sonos to share these files?

I have a sonos connect that keeps disconnecting from the sonos app and our network. I go in and factory reset it, reconnect it to our sonos account, play music on our hard wired speakers for maybe a minute or two and all or a sudden the sonos connect can not be found and the music stops. Any suggestions for how to fix? I did send a diagnostic ticket to sonos 1066180950. 

I’m running Sonos S1 speakers from my MacBook Pro with Qfinder Pro Nas which needs SMB1. QNAP upgraded so that SMB1 is not default. Anyone know how I can change to SMB1?  Any advice gladly received.RegardsIan j

The Sonos app on Windows is ridiculously small on 4k monitors.  There is no ability to size the font or any other interface control size.  Does Sonos plan to invest a little time into the windows controller to make it a more positive experience.

Hi. I am running my music library on a USB drive connected to my router fixed to SMB1. This is to overcome the acknowledged issue with SMB2 and SMB3 that has impacted some users with USB or NAS drives. In my case, the library failed to index when I was using the default SMB2 protocol.I’d rather not use SMB1 any longer than I have to.We’ve just had another software update to 15.7.1 with ‘bug fixes’ in the release notes, so I have no way of knowing if the issue has been resolved yet.Is there any update on this issue? It’s been a long time since SMB support was uplifted and this issue arrived.Thanks.

Sonos is asking me to reauthorise Spotify over and over again even after reauthorising. Any ideas??

 I know I’m not the first to have this problem but would be grateful for any suggestions in this forum on how it might possibly be fixed. Lost all my playlists due to being advised that I needed to factory reset components as the only way to switch them to a new wifi network (not moving house, just upgrading TV services which for some reason needs a new network). Two Playbars not reset as I can’t unplug them (wiring considerations) so my question is, if I was able to disconnect the new router and reinstal the old network, might I be able to retrieve the playlists via the devices which weren’t reset? Very annoyed to lose 5+ years of carefully curated playlists….

On the Android Sonos app that is paired with Soundtrack Your Brand when trying to play selected item from Soundtrack Your Brand Sonos app says “Unable to play the selected item”.Tried restart of apps and repairing.Please advice on how to fix this.

I fired up the desktop Sonos app on my wife’s older iMac. From day one, when I get a prompt to update the app, I’ve done so without any issue whatsoever.  This time, upon the Sonos app restarting, it crashed and continued to crash even after I tossed the S2 app (and all components) and reinstalled it.  So, I tried removing the S2 app again and installing the S1 app since my wife’s iMac is still running OS El Capitan. (as noted, it’s ALWAYS continued working prior to yesterday).Is there anyway I can download an older version of the Sonos Desktop App for Mac OS so regain use of my Sonos library on this computer?Thanks in advance.  Brad

I’ve got a Sonos Play 5 (2nd generation) and I use the S2 app on my MacBook Pro. I updated it recently to 15.2 with no issues. Several days later of using it, the app unexpectedly quit and won’t reopen. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling it - no change. Safeboot and a test user account have no impact. I’ve even tried to install the S1 app but it too crashes upon launch.I understand that 15.2 no longer supports El Capitan (I’m unable to upgrade the macos) but interestingly enough the S1 app has also been updated and it too no longer supports my computer.Is there a link to go back to the previous S2 app version? I’d simply disable automatic updates and that could work.

I am trying to get Sonos S2 running on macOS version 10.11 (El Capitan). The current macOS controller app, version 15.2, simply crashes on startup.I note from this page https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/release-notes-for-sonos-s2 that it requires macOS 10.12 which explains the crash. It would seem that I require Sonos S2 15.1, the final release that supports macOS 10.11. However, I can’t find a way to download previous versions of the app - is it possible?I have another Mac that still has Sonos S2 version 14.19, so I copied that over. That runs but insists that it must be updated. I can’t find a way to just make it run and work with my system, despite it still working fine on the other Mac.So… is there any supported way to run Sonos S2 on El Capitan now?

Well, I’m not a huge fan of change but, I’m in the midst of it since we upgraded my wife’s iMac recently. Her’s was running El Capitan (don’t judge me) because… it worked for what she/we used that computer for.I simply copied the 38GB Sonos library folder to a Crucial SSD drive and then ejected It from the old iMac and plugged it into one of the new iMac’s Thunderbolt ports. I planned on leaving that SSD plugged into the new iMac and redirect the Sonos S2 app’s path to that folder. No such luck. I wasn’t allowed to do it. After much frustration, I reformatted the drive while plugged into the new iMac and dedicated it as her Time Machine drive. (note: the Sharing/Permissions rigamarole didn’t really have an effect on creating access)My question is: IF I purchase a new SSD, format it while connected to the new iMac and then add the Sonos folder to it, do you think I can create the new path for the Sonos app to connect to it? I feel much of the problem lies with Apples OS but, I’m an old

I have Last.fm connected to my Sonos system. When I play anything from Sonos Radio I’ll get anywhere from 1 - 3 scrobbles per track. Comparatively if I use the Sonos app to playback content from Apple Music or Plex I do not get any doubles or triples. Any reason why only Sonos Radio would randomly scrobble 2 - 3 times?

Hi! I found my solution to having several Sonos devices still on the S1 controller and needing a smbv1 Nas device to share my music library. Finding a current router based nas or a current nas with out of the box support for smbv1 seemed fruitless short of spending more than I wanted, so the low cost alternative was to build one myself using a raspberry pi 4 with a USB attached drive and running open media vault, which allows setting smb to v1. Definitely not secure to put accessible from the internet,  but secure enough for my home network. Streaming from it to my sonos devices is back!

I have gen 1 speakers running through  S1 controller.  Today I’m getting email messages and in-app messages to download “ the new Sonos app.” Anybody know if that app is replacing S1 or is it for S2? 

Hello,I am wondering if the following setup is possible with Sonos. I have a bluetooth turntable, that would connect via bluetooth to the Era100 pair. From there, will I be able to also use the Arc soundbar?

We have a Play:5 speaker and sonos Connect. The connect unit is attached to a receiver, so that receiver transmits the Music two for tanning rooms. The plate five speaker is in the fitness center playing in the majority of the space.  We have been constantly losing connectivity using iHeartRadio. We are able to play Amazon music continuously without any interruptions. We also run Lorex camera system for security. Everything was running fine since May 1 when we opened and now a week ago the interruption of audio has started looking for any advice from the community? Thank you in advance.  IT guys have created separate networks for all cams, sonos players and everything else we have going on in the facility. We can’t figure this one out. 

Seen a number of threads on the topic of audio dropout on BBC Sounds, however not sure if there is a definitive fixI've seen this problem within the last week. Select a BBC station and it drops out after a few seconds. It does this a number of times and then appears to settle.Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks 

I'm currently experiencing connectivity problems with my Samsung S20 Ultra phone when using the Spotify app. Specifically, I cannot see my Sonos devices to connect. However, when I check with another Android or Apple device, the Sonos devices are visible and connect seamlessly

I cannot play the new Stones single through Sonos app. I can, however, play it via Airplay. Screenshot of error message follows. Any thoughts?  

I can't add the mixcloud app to my sonos account. Please help.

Hi, I have a Sonos one SL and I use the sonos app on IOS. When in ibiza I used a sonos system in an air bnb and played ibiza global radio on the app. All fine. Came back to the UK and bought my first sonos to play it here. Setup and the app won’t find Ibiza global radio or any other ibiza stations really. I’ve added tunein but that won’t find it. I’ve researched about adding radio but not getting anywhere.Am I able to add this on the sonos app and play in the UK? Presumed it would just find it straight away no problems. Struggling, help!thanks 

With Stitcher going away (does Sonos even know this?), I transitioned to Spotify to listen to my podcasts on Sonos. Open Spotify on the Sonos app and all you get is music playlists. Why doesnt the interface match the actual Spotify one, and why is this the case with just about all of the Sonos APIs. They are all missing some key elements.
