Controllers and Music services

I have the Sonos app on my iPhone and iPads. I play on my iPad but then I can’t control the Sonos system on my iPhone? 

A year on since the “new app” launched and the Lock Screen Controls feature has still not been restored.  Has Sonos given up on a feature that practically every other media player has by default??

I have speakers in 3 rooms. When I play via AirPlay, I play it to the AirPlay-enabled speaker (not all are AirPlay compatible, but for a group all you need is one of them and the group will work).For some reason over the last few months, when I play over AirPlay, the group does not work. It will only play out of the AirPlay-compatible speaker. If I choose the group from within the Sonos app, it works.The AirPlay speaker is in the bedroom. A group contains the bedroom, office, and living room. So only the bedroom speaker plays and I cannot get sound to come through the other speakers in the group.Any ideas on what to reset/reboot/try? Thank you. All iOS software and Sonos speaker software and apps are up to date as far as I can tell.

Can I display album covers from my Sonos Play List when I am playing my sonos songs onto  my smart TV. MY TV has a Sonos Arc connected? Is there a way to make this happen?

I finally after THREE HOURS got a used Play3 downgraded from S2 to S1 and successfully adopted.Initially using the S2 app (now just called SONOS app) I went to Settings Gear - Visit Help Center - Legacy S1 App - Downgrade Product to S1 and it said it successfully downgraded the speaker, but it didn’t really.  I could never adopt it using the S1 app. I'd go back to the S2 app and it would find the Play3 eligible to downgrade again.I rebooted my Samsung Galaxy S25 phone, factory reset the Play3 many times, tried setting up a 2.4G WiFi network (as some said that helped) and even connected the speaker with Ethernet, all to no avail. I was about to give up and return the speaker, but finally got it working with the following tricks:I left the Play3 plugged in with Ethernet. Using the S2 app I adopted the Play3 to a "New" Sonos system config, separate than my existing S1 devices. It found the Play3 and adopted and then I UPDATED THE S2 FIRMWARE on the speaker. There’s no way to access settings unless I’m signed in — even though I am signed in. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, signed out and back in countless times, but I still can’t use the settings. So what’s the solution to this classic, recurring problem?

I just updated the Sonos app to version 80.20.34-release+20250430.2fc36c558 on my iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 18.4.1The app seems to load faster but the Recently Played section at the top of the Home screen shows “Unable to load content.”Quitting out of the app and relaunching does not fix.  Playing something new to see if it would trigger an update to that section also doesn’t fix.

My internet and wifi connections are dropping out about every hour at approx 10 minutes past the hour. Each dropout last for about 2 to 3 minutes and then self restores the line . This has been a consistent pattern since I commenced monitoring my internet line dropouts since 1st May. Telstra have (after 3 weeks of denials) investigated and their complaints department are now acknowledging that there is a problem and are deigning to investigate. my question to the Sonos community concerns my use of a Sonos Music Library on a USB drive which I use for shared music. Does Sonos software check around 10 minutes past each hour to check the USB status  or condition etc Could this be the source of the Internet line dropouts ?

Does the Lutron Pico Audio Remote work with the Zoneplayer S5?

The new iOS App update today, and yesterdays system update, seems to have vastly improved the App loading on my iPhone, in fact Sonos App home page is now loading quicker than Apple Music App, both from a previous force close. Previously Sonos App home page would take 1-2 seconds to load from force close, now its less than a second. I assume others are seeing same?

On my SONOS system I added many new “SONOS playlists” accessible on iMAC and Mac Book Air, how may access them with iPhone SONOS app connected on the same system ?

I can’t use my preferred streaming service as my alarm. I used to be able to wake up to albums or playlists I have in Idagio but now there is only one radio station that works in the alarm. It used to work fine for years until the big staff up last year.

I have no alarms currently set. In the past I had a 7am alarm to play a radio station but I removed it ( or so I thought). Now the current settings definitely show no alarms set,but the alarm is actually operating and the station plays for 1 hour every morning. how do I cancel the alarm?

Well on the plus side the new app and firmware are a lot better than they were when first released.On the negative reliability is still an issue and full queue management is among the features still missing.Here's hoping we don't have to wait another year for a reliable full featured app and firmware.

I purchased/downloaded SonoPhone just to see what all the hype is about. It’s one of the  blandest  app’s I’ve ever seen. It reminds me of something from the 1990’s. As far as functionality goes….IMO it’s the old Sonos S1 app.Appearances...well once again a picture speaks volumes…..On the left is the SonoPhone showing “Music Services” and on the right is the Sonos App that shows “Your Services”. Oh..wait...the SonoPhone doesn’t show anything. I guess it couldn’t find them. 😂 Oh well...moving on….On the left is the SonoPhone “Playing Now” screen and on the right is the Sonos App “Playing Now” screen. Let’s not talk about which screen is more intuitive. The yellow circles on the Sonos App show what’s missing from the SonoPhone screen. The “volume level indicator” is only circled to show it’s readable at a glance; without having to touch the “volume slider” as is required on the SonoPhone screen. Let’s not forget the SonoPhone limitations. I am being presented with this lovely problem...“The sonos controller is currently running from another user on your computer. Please quit the Sonos controller from the other account before installing”.Problem is that there is no other user accounts on this device, no separate Sonos application running in the background, device has been rebooted and I’m still being presented with the error.I’ve even reset the controller which made no difference.To make matters worse, if I try to do the update on my mobile device, it says there was a problem checking for updates and to try again.It would be very helpful if the error messages were more meaningful and accurate.

I am struggling to set up an older S1 system. I have a 1x Beam (Gen1) and 4x Sonos Play - and am using the Sonos S1 app.When I open the Sonos S1 app on my phone I can add the Beam (and it is all working). However, if I then go to Add Product - I am getting a message on ‘Sonos app needs updating’, which then takes me to the app store and forces me to download the most recent Sonos app. However, when I go into the most recent Sonos app - it tells me it can find the Sonos systems on the network, but when I hit join it then tells me it is only compatable with the S1 controller (which I already knew) and takes me back to the start screen again. And so I appear in a loop? I also don’t appear to be able to update any of the products. Again - they tell me the app needs updating. The same happens when I run a system compatibility check. It tries to force me onto the latest app which it doesn’t appear to likeEverything is wired directly to the router, so that can’t be the issue… Any thoughts?

I use my Sonos speakers in the main floor of my house almost all day every day.  The speakers are ungrouped and I have one in my kitchen, one in the living room (doubles as the TV soundbar), and one in my office.  I am constantly moving the volume of each room up and down based on the current activities in the house.  I would like to be able to set and save volume profiles across all speakers.Example: During the day while I am working from home, the music is louder in the kitchen and living room and quieter in the office while I’m on calls.Feature Ask:While speaker volumes are set at Kitchen = 10 Living Room = 15 Office = 6, I want to save this as “Work day” so the next time I want this configuration I can immediately recreate it. Use cases for this are plentiful, but by way of example I would create volume profiles for other things like “Cooking” or “Party Time” or “Game on TV” where I would want different volume levels in each room.For additional consideration: This would also be a g

Sonos is playing tracks not in my queue. I’ll select one track and select repeat, but a completely different track will play when that track ends, one that I did not add to the queue. 

Saavn Pro not working with Sonos service on PC app or iPhone apps.

I know that I can connect my Sonos app to my media library on my NAS, and I know that I can connect it to a Plex server- but I don’t use or like Plex - but why can’t the app writers allow me to link to my existing non-Plex servers? My media servers on my NAS automatically update the content if there are changes and I’ve only just found that the Sonos app has be updated manually (and then it has to scan through thousands of tracks). So why go through all that when my media servers have updated already??

So i am having an issue. The Play:1 speakers that i have had since Sonos first came out are not recognized on the new Mac Mini M4. I can see them with all my other speakers on the iphone app. I can see them on the desktop app as well.But when I go to play something from the web like F1TV they do not show up in the SOUND Menu in the System Settings menu. Looking for a solution if anyone has some.ThanksMark

I have two sonos one, tvo Ikea Lamps, one sub and one beam. all these components can be seen in the app. Trying to start any music doesn’t work with the app. Howeer is it possible to start up the system with The remote from Ikea, ”trådfri”. I appreciate any assistance. Telephone support in my region is shut down🤨
