I have been playing Sonos music to my hot tub via a Sonos Port RCA output that is hard wired through a mini plug at the other end that is plugged into the auxiliary input for the tub JBJ speakers - worked great. But the hot tub motherboard burned out, and the new updated hot tub motherboard will only accept a Bluetooth signal to run the tub speakers (no more hardwiring).Question. Is there a way to now send a Bluetooth signal to the hot tub speakers through the Sonos Port, or maybe some other way ?
Me podéis ayudar?? Gracias
All of a sudden, my 2 Sonos Ones are not showing up in my Airplay list. I have not changed anything and they were working fine a couple weeks ago. I have tried power cycling them. I have seen this exact issue on multiple boards and the answer is always that it’s “odd”. How can it be odd if it is obviously happening to people on a fairy consistent basis? Sounds like a Sonos issue that should be addressed.
Hi all - Ridding our house of Sonos that don’t play nice with S2 controller / app Need to drive 2 outdoor, non-powered speakers Been using Sonos amp connect zp100 and zp120 Like to use s2 controller what’s the lowest cost option to drive them but using s2 app /controller over WiFi Also - have seen the Sonos Connect’s Gen 2 for S2 - looks like RCA jacks on the back. My speakers have regular, old fashioned speaker “wire” thx all - very much will likely just grab something on the 2nd hand market much appreciated !!
I’m thinking about replacing my Sonos Connect:AMP (runs with S2) with the newer Sonos Amp.I’m using the connect:amp to power two speakers and a sub - mostly streaming music from a laptop connected to connect:amp via RCA in; and from my media library located on my desktop. Desktop shared on LAN via ethernet cable, connect:amp via wifi. (New Orbis router.)Media library consists of ripped CDs in flac - CD quality uncompressed. We are having occastional issues with skipping.I thought I might as well go ahead and update my old connect:amp just to move to more recent tech. But I’m on the fence.Does anyone know if the wifi antenna in the newer Amp is an improvement over the Connect:AMP?
I see the spec sheet saying that alexa and google will work with the in-wall and in-ceiling speakers when using the sonos amp. My question goes a little further:Are the listening microphones that support true tune and the alexa/google integration… are those in the speakers themselves? The reason for the question: If I have a zone in the primary bedroom, the speakers will be in the walls, but the Sonos AMP will live back in the AV closet down the hall… will I need an additional google Nest Mini to act as the voice integration mic for the room OR will the alexa/google integration work directly from the in-wall speakers?
Here's the rephrased scenario:Here's the situation: The Sonos Amp is configured to my WiFi and is functioning smoothly. I'm curious whether the Sonos Amp relies on my phone to continue playing music, especially if I've selected continuous streamers or radio stations that should play uninterrupted.
We have been using an old Mac to stream music to speakers via Sonos Port.We have bookmarks in Google Chrome for our favorite stations/programs - but the Mac is so old it needs to be put out to pasture.I have a Samsun Tablet that’s just sitting around - so I thought I would just replace the Mac with the Tablet. Is there a downside?
Hi,Have tried to find an answer to this online, but maybe I’m not using the right search terms. Anyway…I have a Sonos Amp, with a turntable as Line In (powered by a phono amp). It works fine, but I miss the true vinyl sound. So I was thinking - I have my previous amp still. Can I set up a system so that I can play CD and Turntable through the old amp as previously, but connect the Sonos Amp to aux (?) in that amp to stream music to the system. Many thanks in advance for your help! Mark
I have older generation connect running wired speakers to my patio and line in to my TV. Worked perfectly for 5 years or more. Within last year or so the sound starts to fade to barely a whisper no matter volume setting. Neither TV or speakers will work when this happens. I can unplug power to connect for few seconds and once the room is back online it will function perfectly for various amounts of tme before it fades again. I thought it might be connect going out so I bought replacement and that seemed to work but unfortunately that was short-lived. Have been on phone with customer support. We tried a few things but communication was difficult. I asked for elevation and was cut off while waiting. Anyone with similar issue and possible solution?I also have another connect device with a similar configuration for another room and it still works.
how to connect the Port to existing pre-amp and outboard separate DAC
I’ve got a large music library on my PC, that I copied over to my QNAP NAS a few years ago but have never exploited or linked through to SONOS - I’ve really only used Spotify with SONOS. . It’s easy to manage my library on my PC (I use Mediamonkey), but never quite figured out my best options to manage it on my NAS. I use Plex (paid lifetime pass) on my NAS / PC / TV / Phone for my video media, and it’s great. However it doesn’t seem so good for managing audio and I’m not convinced Plexamp is any better (despite the rave reviews). I can’t import my playlists and Plex doesn’t recognise the ratings I’ve already added to all of my audio and that I use all the time on Mediamonkey, so my options to manage, listen to and filter music I want to listen to is limited. The SONOS Music Library also doesn’t recognise ratings, so can’t filter there either, so suspect playlists might be the only way I’ve got of filtering my music, meaning I’ve got to be able to better manage it on the server.
I am curious if there is a way to play the sound from my Denon receiver on the Sonos system. Example, I watch TV with Roku that plays through me Denon. I’d prefer outputting that sound from the Denon to get better sound on the Sonos system.I have a bunch of Era 100s.Thanks for your expert ideas.
Whats the best way to get two wires into the one side of the adapter? I’m having a hard time.
When my Connect is playing music with other speakers in a group, it constantly drops audio. Often multiple times in a song. I’ve had it hardwired direct to the router and wireless, no difference. A helpful Sonos support rep told me that it’s because it’s an older device and they have trouble handling the load of music services like YouTube Music, Spotify, and Pandora. He said this is particularly an issue when the Connect becomes the primary device that forms the net with the other speakers. Recommended work arounds included using wireless instead of wired and adding the Connect to the group AFTER starting streaming. There was some logic to his explanation, but unfortunately none of the suggestions helped.SO… do I upgrade to a Port and all my issues go away? I’d hate to spend the money and find out it doesn’t help any. Sonos used to be super stable for me and in the past two years constant drops from the connect and connect amps.
I have a number of Sonos products which all work reasonably well EXCEPT my Sonos Connect Gen2. It was purchased in 2019 and for the last year will not stay connected - either WIFI are hardwired. I’ve done factory resets, moved to other locations, rebooted, etc. and it may come online for a while but eventually will display “not connected” just disappears from the Sonos app all together. The only visible symptom is the white LED flickers (not blinking) when it’s “dead”. If I unplug it, it may come back online for an hour or two.I’ve pinged Sonos support several times and end up going through all of the basic troubleshooting to no avail. Very frustrating for a product I pay a premium for to stop working in 3 years.Anyone have thoughts? Thank you!
Can I connect an external turntable to my Beam(Gen 2)?
I have a ZonePlayer 120 that has been in storage for a few years. I. just found a new use for it thankfully. However, I can not seem to get it connect via my Sonos S1 app. When I try a factory reset (unplugging and then reconnecting while plugging power back in) it simply blinks a brief white light and then nothing else. I have held the button in for several minutes and nothing alse happens. The S! app does not see the ZP120. Anyone have any ideas?
Hi- I have a few of the Connect S15 devices. One is continuously in a reboot cycle. I’ve pulled power and plugged back in. Still does it. I disconnected all lines going to it with only power being applied, still does it. Held the play/pause button down while applying power, gets to the orange light (flashes a few times) then reboots. Is it a lost cause? Thanks!
Good morningI'm having trouble successfully adding the boost device to my system.I received a used device for my friend. The device has been reset and restored to factory settings. They can be physically added to my speaker system.Unfortunately, there is an error when registering the device in my SONOS account. The procedure ends with the boost being added to the S2 controller, unfortunately with a red message that it has not been assigned to my account. As a result, the device cannot be used and some controller functions are disabled. The new boost is not in the list of my devices on SONOS.The previous owner used the device with an S1 controller. What can I do in this situation?Do I need to unregister from the previous user's account and system?Or maybe it's a hardware problem? Please advise and helpRegards Tomasz
I have a Sony STR-DH190 receiver that I have connected to a turntable and two passive speakers. I also own a Sonos Era 100 and a Sonos Arc. I’m trying to connect my receiver to my Sonos speakers so that I can play music through both my passive speakers and through my Sonos speakers simultaneously. The Sonos Port is a bit too expensive for me, so I’m looking into a used Connect Gen2. I’ve seen that there is a 75ms delay, but the speakers are in different rooms so I think that will be fine. I just want to confirm that I’d be able to both play music through the Connect into the receiver (to go into my passives) AND connect to my Sonos speakers simultaneously, so that all three rooms would be play together. Hoping this would also allow me to play my records and have them connect to every room as well.
I have inherited a couple on Sonos Ones (A100) and want to use them for casual listening in study and kitchen but link them to my proper hifi in the living room which I use for serious music listening. I understand that I need a Connect but they are discontinued so I’m looking to get one second hand but there seem to be a number of different models.I need one that is compatible with the Sonos Ones (A100 version) and preferably without an amp built in as I have a better quality amp already. Does anybody know which model number I should be looking for?
After updating some speakers to a new wifi, my app suddenly won't allow me to add additional speakers saying "incompatible software versions". I'm on V16 (android) which is "up to date". So how do I regain control of my system?
I have a Port (using as my streamer), a turntable, a CD player, and a power amplifier. I want to include a preamplifier in my set-up. How do I make the appropriate connections?
