I am trying to connect a Sonos Port to my existing Sonos system. I have the line out going to a Sony receiver and the line in coming from a turntable that does not have a preamp. The turntable sounds is low coming out of my Sonos speakers and I can’t adjust it from the app or the receiver? Any thoughts?
Background:Family Room: AMP w/Sonos ONE (pair as surrounds)Backyard: Connect(gen2)Asus RT-AX82U/AX5400 RouterAfter installing new router and updating the wifi settings, the Sonos App (S2) does one of the following: 1) stays grey and doesn’t show up 2) only shows the Connect 3) Works perfectly for 3-5 seconds and then the system dissapears.I've gone in and adjusted the router settings as recommended in various help sections, turned off the auto-priority/QoS settings in the router, updated the channel to Ch6 within the 2.4 channel, did the whole direct plug ethernet cord into the amp, and ONE speaker to update the wifi information directly as recommended. Also rebooted all sonos products. The only thing working right now is the family room because it feeds audio in from the TV.Any recommendations or links would be helpful...spent the last few days becoming a fake fix-it dude. Thanks!
Hi,I just setup a new system in our holiday home, with a Sonos Amp in the living room and two Sonos Ones in the bedroom.Originally the Amp was connected via cable and the Ones via WiFi, but it seems that is making issues with our Unifi switch/access point. Initially I could not even add the Amp to the system, but after I switched it to WiFi that worked. But now the Amp disappears from the network after 30-60 minutes of it coming online. So initially when I start the Amp I see it in the Sonos app, but at some point it disappears and is also not reachable anymore on network level (ping). I tried to switch it back to cable instead of WiFi but the problem is exactly the same.Could that be again an issue with Unifi? Unifi recommends having all Sonos devices either wired or wireless, but in my case this issue also occurs with all devices being wireless.Any ideas on how to debug/solve this?Regards, Robert
I’ve noticed others with the same problem...so I anticipate the answer may be obsolescence (planned or otherwise), but looking for official support here if possible. All components have been hardwired and in place for over 5 years (except for the newer connect models, which replaced older connect:amps not supported by S2.The Diag file number is 2005163756.Many thanks if someone could review the diagnostics and LMK.
Just added a boost to my system - 2 era 100, 1 move, 1 move2 , 1 roam and a google wifi mesh. It will ADD to the system but refuses to register to my account.
Hi - I just moved into a house that has 8 zones of speakers (not sure what brand) and Elan wall switches in each room/zone. I want to start adding sonos amps to each set of speakers (maybe 2 sets of speakers to a zone) in some cases.I would like to have the option to control the volume in a zone with a wall switch as well as the app. Will the Lutron Pico Smart Remote work with a Sonos amp connected to non-sonos ceiling speakers? If so, can I just connect the speaker wires in the existing wall plates to each other and replace the wall receptacle with something to hold the Lutron?
Hi all i bought a Sonios amp today and it’s running quite hot. After 2 hours at 50% volume the top of the unit was 46 degrees Celsius and the bottom was 50 deg. I did a live chat with support and they reckon this is normal? Has anyone else had this? the amp is siting on a tv bench in free space, nothing around it. Only one set of speakers are connected - Dali Oberon 5s which are 6 ohm speakers cheers troy.
I have a Niles ZR 4630 receiver. 2 other Niles amps daisy chained to Reciever.I want to get rid of all the touch pads in my house. I have 5 Rooms connected to the 4630, and I just want a Sonos connect or port to turn on the Niles.Does taking out the keypads enable auto sensing turn on/off with the Sonos? Thanks
Hi. I made the Arc system with Sub and Era 300, connected by HDMI ARC from TV A. If I add a AMP(or PORT) for TV B connected by HDMI ARC also, the AMP can stream the sound to Arc system that was already connected by TV A??(if the TV A is turned off) or do i need to make a new speakers group only for TV B? Thanks.
Hey all - here is the basic situation:I have an 8 speaker Sonos system including 3 Amps The Amps have all stopped producing sounds completely. I have removed the Sonos Amps from the system, reset them, added them back in to no avail. It looks like they are playing music but no sound is coming out of any of the three speakers. (All other speakers work normally including when grouped with the Amp) Checked the speaker wiring (all looks good), ran speakers from another non-Sonos amp (played fine) so I am really not sure what the situation could be.Any advice for troubleshooting?
I have a Samsung 4K 60hz TV WITH Arc HDMI port out which is connected to my Sonos Beam Gen 2. My Xbox series X is connected to another HDMI port on my TV. my wireless Astro A50 headphones connects to the Xbox via USB but also needs optic cable connection to the Beam. But Beam Gen 2 has no headphone or optic cable or any additional OUT port. Can I use an Arc supported HDMI splitter of some kind between the TV and the 1) optic cable to headphones base, and 2) HDMI to Beam2?if so, what kind of splitter and cables are recommended? Any specific model recommendations?
Hi, have spent 3 hours direct with Sonos doing all testing to try and fix this issue.I had no issues with my 3 connect amps on S1 and a new Sonos AmP on S2.recently I switched my power off and had to reset all the amps which went from being wireless to now connected directly to my sky router. the 3 connect amps all connect to S1. The new Sonos Amp did connect to S2 but then disappeared. have done hard resets. turned everything off, including router. But each time the Sonos amp will not connect to S1 - it can find it but then says problem identifying it in set up try again. When I try to set it up in S2 as a separate system it asks me to so to S2 beta. Each time it asks for an 8 digit pin it says will be in the side or back of the amp - which Sonos themselves have agreed does not exist.without said pin I connect even connect it to s2 now. so o have no way to connect it to S1 or S2. help appreciated as Sonos have done everything they know.
Hi team! Having real issues with my sonos setup, grateful for any advice please. I have 2 zones in my house. 1. Playbar, with 2 x play 3 surrounds 2. Amp, with sonance speakers and a gen 3 sub Neither the surrounds or sub produce any sound. The playbar and amp, ie main speakers, work fine. When I connect a surround speaker, it connects just fine in the app, but they don't produce any sound. I've tried different combinations, resetting all speakers, nothing works. The play 3s work fine in isolation, but when connected as surrounds, nothing. The sub won't work on either zone. However, after resetting, it shows in the app and does a big 'I'm here' sound, so clearly works. Help!!
I am trying to figure out if it if possible to play CDs on my Kenwood DP-1520 CD player using the Sonos Connect (gen2) without using WiFi. I have the Arc, Sub, and two ones and have managed to get it to work using the wifi, but I am wondering if it’s possible to do it without wifi. I currently use my existing system without wifi when watching movies and tv and it works fine, I just can’t get it to work with the CD player and the Connect. Any help is appreciated.
Screened in Porch - Video Distribution IdeaWhole Home Zone DesignI am in the process of building a new home and would greatly appreciate some input on our whole home audio and video distribution. I am looking to do 6 zones with the ability to expand to the additional bedrooms down the road. I plan to go ahead and coil wire in the attic for those rooms but don’t intend on setting them up day one. The SONOS system seems to offer the best user experience and interface and I’m leaning that way after looking at several different whole home systems from HTD to Soundavo. But my concern with the SONOS systems are their ability to pass HDMI Arc through an extender. I have seen and read about running a fiber optic HDMI but never using an extender and I am curious if anyone has tried to do it successfully. My network closet is in conditioned space above the garage roughly 75’ from the living room and outside zone. Our end goal is to have the ability to stream sporting events onto the porch
We intend to use a Sonos system for a pilates studio. Room size is 100sqm with 4meter height. Intention is to use a port and go from there into a mixxer and to a PA. Important is that it will also sound good at low volume. I heard in case we use Sonos Speakers we have a delay that would be strange when unsing a microphone. → That is reason for “conventional” PA with port idea. I rekon it would make sense to use the digital out of the port to go into the mixer in order to keep the qualiy till there at a maximum level? Any one uses such a setup?
Hello! I want to install sonos in ceiling speakers. I only have 23cm between studs. It should just fint. But i see that i only will be avle to use 2 out of 4 clamps/locking skrews. Will that be enough or is this not possible in My ceiling..?
Hello All and thanks in advance for the assistance.I’m struggling with frequent audio dropouts on my Connect: AMP. I’m aware of the other threads and a potential (albeit poorly communicated) fix from Sonos that is on the horizon. In advance of any fix, I’d like to configure the system as well as possible. My Playbar is connected via network cable to my router and all other devices are connected over ethernet. So far I’ve assigned a static IP to all my devices.Could I have some feedback on which channel I should select for Sonosnet based on these network matrix comparisons? I’ll confess that I am a bit confused on how to read it: JD
Hello everyone,We are interested in purchasing the amp/in ceiling speaker set, plus an additional ceiling speaker set (total of 4 speakers + amp). How does the hook up work for this? Do we need to also purchase a sound bar as well? For reference, our living room is 27’x19’ and we are looking do a surround sound setup. Thank you in advance.
I have a Sonos Amp that is connected to the speaker selector https://pyleusa.com/products/pslsw6which is hardwired with 4 pair of speakers https://www.artsound.be/en/speakers/inwall-loudspeakers/happi/80-hpro650Although the connections seem to be okay, there is no sound. Do you have any suggestions ?
I have a new Denon CEOL RCD-N12. I want to play the audio from the CD and radio issued by this little receiver over my Sonos Group (1xBeam, 2xSonos One SL’s and a Sonos Subwoofer + a new Sonos Port). I’ve tested the new Denon with wired speakers and headphones. I can hear audio on both. I disconnected the wired speakers and the headphones. To hear the music from the Denon on my Sonos set up, I purchased the Port. So far, it does not work. Here is what I did:I grouped all the Sonos equipment. I connected the Denon and Port as follows; Denon’s “Audio Out” RCA to Port’s “Line-In” RCA On the Sonos App the Port’s Line-Out Level is set to ‘Fixed’. I spent about 90mins with Sonos support and sent them a diagnostic report. They concluded that the Port was working just fine but was seeing no input from anything. So, what am I doing wrong? Is what I am hoping to do even feasible? I have not tested the ‘Audio Out’ RCA on the Denon as I dunno how to - I have no other sources I could use
Having a right terrible time with Sonos Can some one please tell me exactly what I need to do as I’m no techie the tech side say I must do “A network switch with an IGMP Snooping option will be the solution “ this means nothing to me. please help fromsonosThanks for following up with me.I completely agree, the devices within are very common. Though we are reporting Network Flooding outwith our connections. While the issues are experienced on Sonos, they're originating from the network. The Network speed and bandwidth have zero impact here.A network switch with an IGMP Snooping option will be the fix. I'll be more than happy to arrange a time to call but have very little further to add at this time. We must reduce the flooding and then combat the high amount of wireless interference. thanks ! As I’m about to dump the lot of it doesn’t work !! 14 speakers Really poor of Sonos to not work
Hi Folks: I have a Sonos Move that I have renamed now countless times. Is there some step that I am missing to do this successfully? After a couple of days, it just defaults to its old location name. So far I have:Renamed it under System → Products Formatted the speaker and set it back up. It then somehow shows up again as Living Room Sonos instead of Main Bedroom. The latter is where I want it. I have removed and added back the entire system. I logged into Sonos.com and then speaker is still named Living Room Sonos, which is not what I labelled it as during the new setup process. It’s a minor detail but throws every person who I show to log in. I would rather not be saying “look for the living room sonos with a battery indicator”. Thoughts or ways to correct the issue?
