Amazon Alexa and Sonos

So, I keep most of my speakers in one group. For this example, let's say "Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom". Since Alexa integration started, I've been able to name any of the speakers in the group, and it'll do that action for the group. For instance "Alexa, stop the living room" stops all three but leaves them grouped. "Alexa, Play Metallica on the Kitchen" Plays Metallica on all three (as long as they had already been grouped). In the last week or so, this has changed. Now when I name a speaker, actions happen ONLY to that speaker. So in the example above "Alexa stop the living room", it separates Living room from the group, and stops it. This means that the other two are still playing. Same thing if I use Alexa to start music. If the speaker I ask it to start on is in a group, it removes it from the group and starts it on just that one speaker. This is super annoying, and really defeats the reason I use Sonos in the first place. Does anyone know why this behavior has

I know Sonos One hasn't support Chinese Voice Assistant yet (In China Market) but I can see it will happen very soon from Sonos China website. Can my Sonos One upgrade to support Chinese VA when it's available? If possible... it's: (a) Completely upgrade to China version? or (b) be optional to select Alexa or Chinese VA; or (c) No it's impossible for my USA version? Thank you.

Hey all - I'm new to Sonos and am happily switching from a Bose SoundTouch system to Sonos (I hope). So far I only have a Play:5 (gen 2) and Play:1 (gen 2). My goal is to have all Sonos speakers always-on and use Alexa, either via the Play:1 (gen 2) Alexa integration (which works great) or an Echo Dog plugged into the Play:5 via the line in. I hope I'm simply missing something, but when I tell the Echo Dot to play something, it seems to do its thing, but I have to use the Sonos App to turn the Play:5 on each time I do this. The Play:1 (gen 2) has Alexa built in, and IS always on, just how I want it. Is my issue with the Play:5 standard and can I not leave it always on, or am I simply missing a configuration? Thank you! I can get all my music through Alexa but cannot get playlists

very very annoying. Pandora, Sonos Play 1(2 in stereo mode), Alexa , android No way I can keep a constant volume. sometimes song starts out very low and increases volume on own. Sometimes I have to increase volume using my tablet in either Sonos or Alexa app. First, I had the repeating song issue, that seems to be resolved now this. All I want to do is sit back and enjoy my music without having.to actively manipulate controls. tx

I've had the Sonos One for a couple of weeks and it was working fine up until yesterday. The music plays fine through sonos app but is not playing correctly through the speaker upon command. For example, if I ask Alexa "to play Lithium on SiriusXM" she responds "Lithium from SiriusXM playing on Office" but then nothing happens. Any suggestions?

I'm having an issue with using Alexa to play a station through Pandora. This is the only streaming service that does this, and ONLY when I ask Alexa to play it. The station with start, and it might play normally for 2-3 songs, and then it will play ALMOST every song twice before changing to a new song. It doesn't matter what station, but this does not happen if I use the app to play a station through Pandora.

Sonos One acts on all commands except swtitch/turn off. Very annoying. Please help

This is rather annoying. Periodically, I will hear a chime from my Sonos One without saying the trigger word `Alexa`. This may be because I've placed the device right next to the TV. Is there any way to mitigate these false triggers?

Hi there, I already read some posts about other people heaving problems with alexa's voice volume on the Sonos One. Some say it's not loud enough, when they have low music playing. Some say it's too loud. For me, the problem is, that Alexa is way too loud. When I mute the Sonos One and ask Alexa a question, she responds at a volume absolutely inapropriate. So I won't ask Alexa a lot in the evening, because I'm scared to wake someone up. Is this just normal on the Sonos One, is this a bug? And is Alexa supposed to be muted, when the Sonos One is muted? I would appreciate any advice. Does anyone have similar experience with the Sonos One?

I have recently got the Sonos One and find that although the volume of the music played may be set to low the voice volume of Alexa is too loud. This is especially true at night. Is there any way of correcting this?

How can I Control the tv volume verbally with the alexa? I have Sonos Beam, One Gen 2 and can get the elxa to control the alexa music voice etc verbally but cannot get the alexa to control the turn the tv on off nor turn the tv volume up down. Is there a solution? Thank you!

I bought 2 Sonos Play 1 setup in my dinnig room, I have one Alexa echo in my bedroom and one Marshall Woburn Speaker with another Echo dot in my living room. Is there any way i can play multiroom music playing in my devices at the same time?

I have recently purchased Sonos One with Alexa. However when I ask Alexa to read a kindle book she will give a summary of the book and then say sorry something has gone wrong.

I just bought a Sonos One and its working very well. I cant find any way to mute the microphone. Theres no option anywhere in the app (windows/iphone) and it seems theres no physical button on the sonos one? How do i get the mutebutton to work and show that its muted?

Whenever I say "Alexa, play x song", she replies with"x song by x artist from spotify, sorry that device is offline". I have spotify premium so I don't understand why it does not work.

I recently added a Play Bar and two Sonos Ones to my Play 5. I also have one Amazon Echo and three Amazon Dots. All of my Sonos speakers are connected in a group I call “Downstairs”. I have also added two of the Dots to the group. If I ask Alexa to play music on “Downstairs” from any of the Alexa devices (either Dot or the Sonos Ones), the music only plays on the Sonos speakers, not the Dots. Music plays just fine on the Dots if I don’t tell it to play in the group. I have disabled the Sonos Skill and re-enabled it, no change. The Dots, of course, don’t show up in the device list on the Sonos app for grouping there. Is there any way to get the Dots to play in this group?

Looking for an update on when Alexa calling is coming to Sonos One. Just got a Echo connect for home phone but useless with my current set up of Sonos Ones

I successfully set up my echo dot to control my sonos speakers. It will play radio stations and change from radio to streamed music but it won’t respond to my command to stop playing. I have disabled and renabled the sonos skill and rebooted my echo dot. Any help would be appreciated.

Let's let Sonos know we would like this feature added. We've all spent years cultivating music we own, and we'd like to listen to it using the new voice control feature that Alexa has added. Thanks!

Just bought a Sonon One in Singapore - It is advertised to have Alexa voice service but upon setup the app simply state: Voice service, not available in your country? Is this correct, how do i get it activated? Right now the Sonos One - is no different from my Sonos Play 1 that i wanted to upgrade.

My Sonos One, with the right skills enabled, cannot find my Philips Hue (gen 2 hub) system. Tried everything that was mentioned in other threads: reinstalling skills, resetting the Sonos and the Hue, removing Alexa from Sonos, etc. One remaining think I can think of is that my Philips Hue lights are connected to my home wifi network, while my Sonos system (Playbar, 2x play 1 and now a Sonos one) is connected to my router with one cable. I think sonos then creates its own wifi network that is different from the home network which makes Alexa on Sonos One unable to find the lights... Not sure if this could be the reason but if so, how can I fix this?

Hi there, I was tidying my wiring over the wekend and when I powered up again, Alexa will not respond my Sonos Beam. I checked the settings on my Alexa app and voice is enabled. I deleted and reinstalled both eth Sonos and Alexa app, but still no change. Has anyone got some ideas of what I can try next, thanks in advance (:

Sonos Alexa keeps saying it can’t play because I need to enable the skill. I have followed instructions given to me by Sonos tech earlier today but it’s not working. Any help very welcome please

Trying countless permutations of commands, it seams that my default HDMI input in the TV has changed. Its not ideal, but for now I switched the HDMI cables and now when I ask alexa to turn on the TV, its on the correct HDMI input setting. The tv is a vizio. Does anyone know how to switch HDMI inputs within the tv via Alexa?
