Sonance speakers be connected to Alexa

Hi i just wondered if the Sonance ceiling speakers firstly, needs the amp and secondly, can it be connected to an existent Alexa enabled group?

Yes, the Sonance speakers need something to power them, normally a Sonos Amp. An no, due to the technology that drives both kinds of speakers, there currently are no Sonos speakers that will “pair” with, or play simultaneously with Alexa (or Google) speakers.
You would however, be able to control any speakers connected to the Sonos Amp with a voice control system. They just couldn’t be in sync with non-Sonos speakers.
Geat thanks for the reply. Currently have 2 sonos ones with Alexa.

So could these and the 2 ceiling speakers be connected together to play music etc?

The Sonos Amp and Sonos One speakers can definitely be grouped and play music/audio in sync.
