Amazon Alexa and Sonos

I have 2 Ones in a stereo pair Alexa is working on both but independently sometimes shouting Alexa the left speaker responds other times its the right, it can sometimes be I am standing next to the left speaker but its the right that wakes up or visa versa more often than not neither respond. My question is should I have Alexa working on both my Ones if so are there plans to have them act as one i.e. both Ones listen for the wake word with Alexa replying out of both. Hope the above makes sense

Does anyone know if the "Alexa tell me a bedtime story" feature will work on the sonos one? I just set up 2 with my playbar as a surround sound. All other Alexa features seem to work but this one. It works up until it's time for the speaker to read the story. Anyone know if this is an issue? Thanks!!

I'm an Amazon Prime customer so I have access to their Prime Music service, though it's not the unlimited version; which I understand to mean that a subset of the music in Amazon's catalog is included for streaming but not everything. My question is ... when I enable Alexa on the Sonos One, by default, the device is authorized by my Amazon account. Does that mean when I tell it, for example, "Alexa, play Jimi Hendrix", the only songs it will select are those which are free per my Prime account? In other words, can I be confident that Alexa won't select an artist's songs not included in my account and charge me for playing them? My intent with enabling Alexa was to use it to play music from my personal library on my NAS, but learned on this community that this isn't an option (and I concur with the vast majority of comments that this a huge gap in the product's functionality). Hi, as an avid user of Alexa on my Sonos One, I was delighted to see that Amazon have now made Alexa available in Ireland. Any plans to make the integration available to Sonos users with Irish addresses sooon? I also notice I can no longer control my smart home devices via my Play One, is this a bug or related to the Amaazoonn change?

I'm considering buying either an Amazon Alexa product or a Google Home product, but can't quite decide. I'll probably go with either an Echo Dot or a Google Home mini, as we're pretty invested in Sonos. We don't need a new music system, but a way to control what we have by voice is appealing. I know the Echo Dot will work with Sonos now, and presumably the Google Home Mini will work with Sonos in the near future (or am I wrong?). We're an Android ecosystem family, we use Google Calendars, Chromecast etc. But, the music streaming service we do use is Amazon music, just to complicate things! I'd like opinions on which is the best smart home product to buy. How do they actually control Sonos? My ideal scenario is that we can control our Sonos system using Google Home mini, but tell it to stream songs from Amazon music, as we currently do with the Sonos app. Is that likely to be possible whenever Sonos actually works with Google Home mini? I'm willing to wait for that, but if that's not

Have had my Play 1 only a couple months. Interested in current sale of Sonos One bundle but first want to know how does the Sonos One work with my existing Play1? Will the Sonos One control the Play 1? Or, will Play 1 controlled with app and Sonos One with Alexa? Thanks for the help.

I recently read a Which review of the Sonos One (https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/wireless-and-bluetooth-speakers/sonos-one/review), which was damning. I was quite surprised as the forums and other reviews I have seen are quite positive. For those that have both, I would like to know what is your overall impression of the Sonos One sounds quality vs. the Amazon Echo 2nd Gen? To quote Which: "Should I buy this speaker? No." "[It's] mediocre. Music sounds very processed, rough and harsh rather than natural, with a heavy bass that is not well blended with the rest of the sound." "Amazon's own Eco Second Generation sounds significantly better at a far cheaper price."

I have a home full of SONOS speakers and had been waiting (very patiently) for SONOS to partner with someone to allow for virtual assistant control over those speakers. I'm typically an Apple guy, but I was still thrilled when SONOS had announced plans to enable support for Alexa. I bought a pair of SONOS One's as soon as they launched, but have been struggling ever since just to get Alexa to control my other SONOS speakers. After reading dozens of articles and posts, waiting (still patiently) for various software updates, and spending hours trouble-shooting the issue, I'm no better off than I was before the launch of the SONOS One. Where do I stand now? Despite having created a new group for "multi-room music" in the "Smart Home" section of the Alexa app, I'm still dealing with the following: Me: Alexa, play [SONG NAME] on [NEW GROUP NAME]. Alexa: I can't play music on the group yet. To play on your speaker, use the device name or setup multi-room music in the Alexa app.

My music just keeps cutting out as though the internet connection is dropping out or something but it’s a strong signal

I currently have 5 rooms in my flat, each with an Alexa dot connected to a powered speaker. I get multi-room audio such as "Alexa play Jazz in the kitchen". What additional features do I get if I invest in Sonos? I don't see the difference, please help me understand the buzz! Thanks

I'm in Canada and I was able to enable Alexa by changing my country to USA. However, the Alexa app doesn't let me link my Spotify premium account to it. In Music Service settings, selecting Spotify option is disabled and I can't even make Spotify as my default music library. Is it because of the location? How can I link Spotify to Alexa in Canada?

I'm setting up a whole home system and looking to use Amazon Alexa app to control my Sonos system. But I'm not seeing that the Sonos Connects are controllable thru the Alexa app. Can someone please confirm that I will be able to control my in ceiling speakers with Alexa thru the Connect or Connect:Amp? I currently own some Play:1s and have updated to be able to control this thru Alexa. Does anyone have any suggestions on how they setup their multiroom home audio system using architectural speakers? For instance, I'm looking for suggestions on a 5.1 surround A/V Receiver that will wake through a Sonos Connect. Thank you!

Does anybody have any info as to when Sonos will update the software on the Sonos One to allow conversations with other people using Alexa on Amazon equipment. Used to do this regularly using an Amazon Echo and miss the feature now I’m using a Sonos One.

Sonos One with Alexa currently does not support voice calling or calling to other Alexa enabled devices. Does anyone know of this will be enabled via an update in the future or is it a limitation of the hardware? With the mics and speakers this could be a great set up for conference calls.

My setup in the kitchen is I have a pair of Sonos One's in stereo sitting ontop of a welsh dresser at the back of the kitchen. Overall using Alexa works great on these as I can see from their lights that both initially fire up, but then one Sonos One takes over and processes the command. I've had no issues with doing most commands but my problems is this; Asking Alexa to set a timer I ask Alexa to set a timer for 5 minutes. I then ask Alexa how long left on the timer, and it depends totally as to where I'm standing as to which speaker picks up, but sometimes I get the response "No timers set" (from the One that didn't process the command) and sometimes 4.30 remaining (which is correct response). Its a bit of a pain but involves me trying one speaker and then the other till i get the response. The easiest fix would be to turn the microphone off on one speaker, so that all my timers are processed through one speaker only, but I can't seem to find that setting. Anyone else h

So, I set it up and all worked great. Now though, there is no response when I say Alexa. I have tried diffent commands but it’s like the mic isn’t working. The Sonos still works with the app. I can’t work out how to factory reset the thing? Does anyone know how?

Have just bought a Sonos 1. And another on the way...I also have two echo dots...New to this so would like a step by step if possible on how to creat a network with 2 Sonos 1 and 2 Echo dots all on Alexa voice command but able to play different music in different rooms and/or all the same music for parties and such...Sonos 1 is =hooked up and controlled by Alexa as well s Echo Dot #1...Echo dot #2 and Sonos #2 are still packaging waiting for details on how to hook its all together...Any help would be greatly appreciated. For example, could I have the Sonos One in the Living Room and say "Alexa play Jazz" in the Kitchen via a Sonos Play:1? If I have music playing everywhere, can I selectively turn off groups via voice control?

Hi, I have a multi room Sonos system and recently bought an Echo Dot which I have been using to play music on Sonos, streaming from Amazon Music. With the Sonos app I can stream different songs from Amazon Music to different rooms simultaneously. When I try this with Alexa, she tells me music is already streaming to another device and asks if I want to switch. Once I have started music via Alexa, the Sons app won't do it either. This is a big issue in a family house and if I can't resolve I will be binning the Dot! I am hoping I just have something wrong in the setup? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

As the new Sonos one has alexa built in will echo devices and Sonos devices be able to be grouped together? As i have both sets of devices in the home but can't play whole house music as i have echos in some rooms and Sonos in some. I was told i am best picking either Sonos or amazon as they will never be able to be synched together which seems strange as the new "one" has alexa built in, will it be recognised as an alexa speaker in their group or a Sonos speaker in their group or both? Need answers before i invest in either much further.

I have recently bought Sonos for my apartment and for the most part I’ve been happy with it and think it’s great! However, I do experience a few bugs and what not. My setup is as follows: Living Room: 2x Sonos One + PlayBase Kitchen: Sonos One Bedroom: Sonos One Music Service: Spotify The bugs/issues I experience: 1. When playing music and I want to set a sleep timer, it doesn’t work even though Alexa acknowledges it. 2. I can’t get meditation skills to work. Either they won’t open and Alexa says ‘Something went wrong’ or the speakers just stay silent. 3. When I ask Alexa to play songs by X artist or latest album, it just plays one song. If I ask Alexa to skip the song, it will just play it again from the beginning. 4. When I ask Alexa to read a book from my kindle Alexa says the title of my book and then ‘Something went wrong’ 5. When I ask Alexa to play different songs in multiple rooms it only works 1 out of 7 times or so. Mostly it will just stop music in o
