Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Hello, Needing some help, My sonos play 3 is all connected upto Alexa and Sonos however, I cant control it via Alexa as it keeps saying my Sonos is Offline. Sonos is working fine via the Sonos App and I cant figure out how to get it to show online and work via Alexa - Any ideas?

I ask alexa to play an artist in in the living room. The first songs plays... and then nothing..... It seems like SONOS is not playing the alexa Que?

If wanted to set up a play 5 and an echo dot via 3.5mm jack and the sonos skill enable in the Alexa app, will this set up do the below Play music directly from Spotify on the sonos, ie it’s not playing from the dot through the jack onto the sonos? Give full voice command control of sonos eg volume up, next track etc etc? Do regular echo dot commands like tell me a joke get play out of the sonos?

For roughly the past week, I have been having trouble streaming KPCC (Los Angeles) with Alexa on TuneIn through my Sonos One. Previously, it was working fine. Other stations seem to work okay, but importantly, KPCC works fine when I try this on my Echo Dot. So the problem has something to do with Sonos. When I say, "Alexa, play KPCC" OR "Alexa, play KPCC on TuneIn", Alexa either remains silent or says "KPCC on TuneIn Live is currently not available." But if I say "Play KPCC on iHeartRadio" it works fine. It also works fine playing other radio stations on TuneIn. As I mentioned, the station plays fine through my Echo Dot, but if I say to my Dot, "Alexa, play KPCC in Living Room," the Sonos is silent. So, again, it seems like a Sonos issue. Anyone else having similar problems on TuneIn with this or other stations? Is this type of problem something Sonos is aware of? Thanks.

Before I get caught in a loop where Sonos tells me to talk to Nest and Nest tell me to talk to Amazon and Amazon tells me to talk to Sonos... has anybody been able to tell their Sonos One to play a Nest camera feed on their Fire TV? It works perfectly from my Echo and Echo Dot. And requests to play Fire TV content via Sonos One work no problem. It's only when I ask for it to display my Nest feeds that Sonos One says "Sorry! Cameras don't work on this device!" — I've made sure there are no name conflicts. I've done the whole disable/enable skill and forget all/discover devices and have ulinked/linked devices in the Fire TV prefs (along with everything else I can think of). None of the usual tricks are working, so I'm starting to suspect that Sonos One can't handle video requests from Nest Cams sent to Fire TV?

I’ve got the Sonos One all set up but it won’t play radio stations via TuneIn. Alexa acknowledges the request stating “Playing TuneIn xxxxx radio” but then doesn’t play anything. I’ve disabled and re-enabled the Sonos skill in the Alexa App but still doesn’t work. Any suggestions?

I have just bought a Sonos One. The sound is great. The Alexa integration doesn't seem to work well. A lot of the skills just don't work. Audible is really important for me and I thought it would be possible to play through Alexa. It tells me it is about to play my book..but nothing happens. Audible is 80% of my use case. I might have to take it back

Loving my new stereo pair of Sonos One’s. I can’t quite get Spotify working correctly. The account is linked to Alexa. I can request albums or songs or shuffled artist and they all play from Spotify. However, I can’t get my playlists to play. Alexa says she can’t find them. And in the Alexa app under Spotify it says App Support Unavailable. I really hope I can get this working. I am an Apple Music user and really only subscribed to Spotify for to use with Alexa until Airplay or Siri is partnered with the One. Thanks for any suggestions.

The new Justin Timberlake album "Man on the Moon" came out Feb 2. It's now Feb 17 and Alexa still can't find it. She has no problem finding others, such as "1989" by Taylor Swift, but why not a newer album? I'm using the exact phrase from the commands help page, and interestingly she repeats it back to me exactly correct but still can't find it. How do I get the latest albums available for playback?

You can ask Alexa to turn her music off after a designated amount of time, but apparently you can’t do that on Sonos via Alexa? And I don’t see it listed as a feature coming in 1.0

Does anyone know how to get Audible to play via Echo on my Sonos system? I can get Alexa to play Audible, and I can get (in a haphazard way) Alexa to play some things on my Sonos, but I can't get my audible book onto my Sonos system.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say how loud and frustrating not being able to control Alexas voice volume separately on a Sonos One is. When Im going to bed and setting an alarm or turning off the lights, I dont need Alexa shouting and waking everyone else up in the family letting them know what time Im going to wake up. Not really sure why one cant just set the alexa voice volume at one level no matter what. I dont think most people want to have to ask Alexa to turn down the volume to 50% before putting in a voice request, every single time, nor will they remember. %

So I have two sonos one speakers, one amazon account and a spotify family account with 4 people on it. The issue I am having is when we play music downstairs in the kitchen and then my son asks alexa to play his upstairs it mutes downstairs. we have the multiple accounts set up in the sonos app so i know we can use these as a controller but seems to make alexa a waste of time. is the solution only to have two sonos systems for individual people? how the hell do you set up alexa multiroom! so far not impressed with alexa!

I have been following Mr Kumar's thread for some time (~ 3 months) for Alexa Integration in india. Hoping Sonos have it on priority, I ordered my Sonos ONE and now its at my desk... without any tricks though. I admit the audio quality leaves everything behind right now but then what about other things that this ONE has to do over SONOS 1??

Set up the new Alexa/Sonos intergration app last night (UK) worked fine last night but no longer works this evening. The Alexa app can see all my Sonos speakers and if I ask Alexa to play some music on one of the speakers she says that she play selected music on selected speaker then nothing plays. Back to the Sonos app.

So.......... I have a sonos one in the kitchen (with built in Alexa). I have just purchased an amazon echo for the bedroom (also Alexa). I can be in the bedroom and ask Alexa to play music in the kitchen, and vice versa, and that all works fine, but trying to get the music to play on both seems impossible. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers

The ability to use your Alexa enabled devices' as intercoms (drop-in) does not work on the Alexa enabled Sonos One. Or I can't figure out how to activate. Drop-in needs to be enables on your Amazon devices (echos, dots, etc.) in order to work but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that on the One. Am I missing something?

Just got my Sonos One and I see that within the Alexa App there is the option to connect to my Audible account. My Amazon and Audible accounts are to be linked and was thrilled to see audible, however, the audible selection does not display any of the books I have in my account. My Amazon account has the books so what is the hang-up?

When I give Alexa a command on my Sonos One, for example "Alexa, Good Morning" she says "Audio actions are not currently supported on this device" but then strangely she carries out part the associated action correctly, turning the lights on or off as expected. No weather, no flash brief. I have a Playbar with 2 Sonos One’s in our living room. After hours of initial setup everything worked...including routines. Then I exchanged the Playbar (speaker issue) and when I updated/reloaded everything my routines no longer work. Help! Seriously, if all of the features I purchased this system for don’t work, why did I invest so much cash? The salesperson at Best Buy assured me that this setup is 100% Alexa ready.

Just got and set up a Sonos One. Can I add Sonos and Alexa apps on my wife’s phone for her to use the system? If so should she use the same user and password as I use on the Sonos and Alexa apps or set up her own, and then would it automatically access the existing Sonos system?

Hi, I have an echo dot which I use to control music on my Sonos 1 speakers, which are grouped together (called Conservatory). Every time I play music I need to tell Alex "Play on Conservatory", is there a way to set the default to be a group? (so I don't have to say Conservatory every time?). Occasionally I forget and it will start playing on the Echo Dot or state that Amazon Music is already playing somewhere else. It would make it easier for my children when they're asking Alexa to play something. Thanks, Gruss

Evening. My sonos system is connected to my NAS. I can play every music file from my NAS. Now I bought the Alexa DOT. How do I acces the music files om my NAS. If I give a voice control Alexa is searching in Amazon music and find not every song I want to hear. Anyone have a idea?

My family has set up playlists on Amazon music. I would like Alexa to play those playlists on Sonos. When I ask Alexa to play my amazon music playlist it obliges but never on Sonos. Any other music request Alexa plays on Sonos. Example - set up amazon music playlist under my music "our jazz". Say "Alexa playlist our jazz in the library" - plays but not on Sonos. Say "alexa play Freddie freeloader in the library" plays on Sonos. Known bug? Any way to fix?

For quite a while I couldn't find a way to get Alexa to play CBC Radio 2 Toronto. It would always play a different radio station (e.g. CBC Radio 1 or a CBC station in the Bahamas). So I had to use the app to play this station. Finally I found a way to get Alexa to recognize the station: "Alexa, play Radio 2 Toronto from TuneIn in Room X." That worked for a while then one day it stopped working. Once again I cannot find any way to get Alexa to play this station, though I have tried every combination of radio station name, location, frequency, call letters, etc. that I could think of. So I'm back to using the app when I want to listen to this station. Does anyone have any tips as to how I can get Alexa to play this radio station? Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance!
