Amazon Alexa and Sonos

I'm in India with a Sonos Roam 2. Ads say it has Alexa, but I can't find the Sonos skill in the Alexa app and voice controls don't work. Are there alternative ways to use Alexa with Sonos Roam 2 in India (another Alexa device, different assistant)? Is there an estimated timeline for Sonos Alexa support in the Indian Alexa app?

I know that when I play Apple Music through the Sonos app it streams lossless, which is great, however I’ve set up Alexa to use Apple Music on the same device (Beam) and am trying to work out if it will play lossless when I ask it to play a track? I’ve looked everywhere for info on this and haven’t been able to find anything, anyone able to help?

When I ask Alexa to play music on one Sonos speaker it plays it on another speaker, slightly annoying!  Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks

I can’t get the beam 2 to work with Alexa?

playing partial songs then skipping to the next when I have started music via Alexa voice command which streams Amazon. I saw an old thread and rebooted the router but it is still doing this which is irritating.

I have 4 Sonos One’s (one with Alexa in garage) and a Connect  Amp.I told Alexa “Alexa resume” and speaker in another location started playing.The speaker with Alexa had nothing cued to play, so for some reason it started a different speaker.I cued music for it, played, paused, and told Alexa to resume again and the one in the garage with Alexa did resume.Never used to do this.  If nothing was cued, Alexa would just do nothing.This could be serious if it played music outside or in a room where someone was sleeping.

I have a pair of Era 100’s. I’ve connected Alexa and can ask it for the weather, etc., but it will NOT play music from Spotify.  It keeps telling me to connect the apps, etc., which I’ve done several times.  After an hour and a half with Sonos support, they woman told me that this won’t work until they add a “date/settings” feature to the app.  This makes no sense to me, as the Alexa voice command is one of the main selling points of the Sonos Era speakers.  When I pressed her on that she just kept repeating her script. It was like talking to a brick wall. So my question is, does anyone know why I can’t say “Alexa play Steely Dan” to my Sonos speaker and have it work??? Buongiorno,a seguito aggiornamento dell’applicazione, Alexa (assistente vocale predefinito) non mi fa più ascoltare la musica nè da Amazon Music nè da qualsiasi altro gestore musicale. I’ve had a Sonos 1 paired with a Sonos SL for over 2 years, using Alexa voice control. Everything has worked perfectly so far, but in the last few days my microphone on the Sonos 1 has switched off and I can’t get it to work again (the touch control on the speaker is non-responsive, the status in the Sonos app is ‘off’ but this is greyed out and I can’t change it).  I’ve checked in the Alexa app and there’s a red highlighted message saying ‘Device offline. Some settings may not be available’ As per the Sonos troubleshooting guidance, I’ve tried de-activating Sonos in the Alexa app.  The Sonos guidance also says to go to System Settings/Voice assistants/Remove Alexa. However when I access Voice Assistants there is no option to remove, only to add (it just states that Alexa is already added).  I’ve tried unplugging, etc but nothing works. It seems that there is no way to turn the microphone on (even though Alexa has been added).  Any help appreciated. 

I tried the newish Sonos voice assistant and gave up on it. It was randomly hearing things from my tv and suddenly playing music. I tried using it when I got the Era 300. I already had Alexa set up. So I had both turned on for a bit. Turned off the Sonos voice assistant and at some point noticed that one of my speakers no longer worked with Alexa and the microphone would not turn on. When I go into settings to add Alexa it says it’s already added to that speaker. And yet when I go to the voice assistant settings, it only lists some of my other speakers. It shows I could remove Alexa from those but it does not show me the speaker that is malfunctioning. I have tried resetting the speaker. No luck. I also just now realized that while Alexa works fine on my bedroom pair, that pair is not listed in the Alexa settings in the Sonos app. It has Kitchen and Media Room but not the Bedroom pair or the malfunctioning Bathroom speaker. How do I fix this? Are some of my Sonos speakers too old now t

Today I’ve upgraded my two Sonos Ones with Sonos Era 100s. After adding Alexa to the speakers, I tried to go into the Alexa app to associate them with their respective rooms. I’m able to add them as the room speaker, but I am unable to set them as the Alexa device for that room (allowing for room-specific commands like “Alexa, turn off the lights”, etc).What’s weird is my Era 100s will show up under the Echo & Alexa devices section in the Alexa app, but they do not show up under Alexa-enabled devices when editing a room/group (see attached screenshots).I’ve reached out to Alexa support and they were largely unhelpful, they claimed that from their resources Alexa isn’t supported on the Sonos Era 100 (maybe their documentation hasn’t been updated since this is a brand new product?). So they left the conversation there even after showing them that Sonos clearly states Alexa built-in support for the Era 100.Has anyone else experienced this issue? I had problems with Alexa and was encouraged to deregister some of my products to fix this. Now three of my devices font respond anymore. Amazon think its a Sonos issue but as that system works well i find it hard to address.. I no longer see the Wifi sign next to the disabled speakers but not sure how to re-enable this. Should the Wifi on my beams and Sonos One be enabled or disabled. Only the One has no Ethernet. 

I have several Sonos speakers around the house with Alexa setup.I’ve enabled delivery notifications on my Alexa app (https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GW65E37ZG4L9BW3P) but they are not being announced on Sonos.Is there a way to enable this? I’m looking like a simple routine where Alexa can announce “your package was delivered” across all devices.

Can anyone tell me if I would be able to install the Sonos app on an Echo Show so that I can permanently  have it plugged in to to act as a remote control instead of having to grab my phone to operate it.I am not familiar with the Echo show and wondered if you an install apps on the various Echo Show devices?Failing that, does the Echo Show have a web browser to that I could use the Sonos web app? Thank you in advance.

The Alexa Sonos Skill seems to have some recent bugs. It keeps screwing up my Sonos system. Won’t play on all speakers, screws up connections with devices and playing music, has problems with volume adjustment. Not sure what is going on, but didn’t have any problems a year ago. I have Google Fiber btw.

I have just bought this with the intention to connect to Alexa speaker so I can have radio in different rooms. So far I have connected Alexa voice but can’t seem to connect the device

Amazon music won't play through my Sonos system.

I’ve got a few sonos products with mics, and i have added alexa as a voice control in my sonos account. I have also reauthorised the sonos skill in the alexa app.  one of my moves stopped responding at all to alexa commands.  when i go to the voice control settings and try to add alexa back to the move, i get the error ‘some of your products are not connected/online, please connect and retry’.  for context, i have removed a few speakers from my system. But they are not showing up as upgrade options in my account.  any ideas?
