Hi all, I’m relatively new to the Sonos-world, but quite hooked on sound and convenience already. I’m now wondering how to expand my system in my kitchen. I have an old set of BeoPlay S3s that have served me well, and that actually perform quite ok. They have dual class D-amps (one per speaker unit) and I believe that they play louder than e.g. Symfonisk or Sonos One. I now wonder whether I should re-use the S3s and get a Sonos Port to connect them to my system - or if I should just replace them with Symfonisk or Sonos One? I did a test against Symfonisk (playing via BT on the S3s), and TBH, the sound seemed more spacious and dynamic on the S3s. Now, the Ones would perform better again, I’m sure - and that would be a more fair comparison. So - are there any Port-users in here who have experience with a setup like this? Would sound quality (via phono-to-mini jack) and connectivity be as good as with native Sonos speakers?Thanks in advance, /Bo

Hi, I'm having an extension built and part of it will look very much like the below pic with a slanted ceiling, bifold doors and velux windows. I'm planning on getting a Sony A80J, Sonos Arc and Sub. I've read that the Arc should ideally placed in a room with a flat ceiling.  Given my room, should I consider something else or will the Arc just not sound quite as good as it could? Good afternoon,I want to make sure i set up the sonos properly. Help would be appreciated.I want to set up 6 in ceiling speakers to be used for music (2 of which will be in the living room in the rear)My questions are as follows:Will I need more than one amp? Can i use optimal cable to connect these to amp or is RCA preferable? If so, which brand is best; I want to use the 2 in the living room for surround in the future- is it possible to do this? I want to be able to use it for surround when i want and for music with paired with the other speakers when i want to. How can i do this?Thank you so much!

I have a very basic, traditional surround setup in my basement. My Tv is wall mounted with a single HDMI out from the A/V receiver to the TV hidden in the walls so no wires exposed.  My gear is all sitting in a cabinet beneath the TV. My back speakers no longer work and I’m unclear if it’s a wiring problem or because my old Denon amplifier is failing. Replacing wires is a non-starter, and if I have to replace the amp I’m thinking maybe I just go wireless. I have lots of Sonos speakers all around my house and they’re great, so I understand how Sonos works but I’m confused about what I would need to buy or if it will even work.Currently, I have 4 components (Cable, Apple TV, Western Digital Media Player, Wii) connected to my home theatre receiver and a universal remote that controls the receiver input to switch the audio and video on the TV.  The amplifier is a Pioneer VSX-1019AH.  TV is an LG NANO86UNA (55 inch) that supports Dolby ATMOS and eArc.  Simple….Question is: how do I replace

Hi.I have a Sonus Arc soundbar and Sonus Sub (Gen 3) and I was wondering if buying SL surround speakers would be worth it?In general, I find that most TV channels seem to be broadcast in stereo in either Dolby Digital 2.0 or Stereo PCM.What actually happens to the sound from a stereo broadcast regarding the surround speakers?Does the sound just get directed to the surround speakers anyway (even though it's not Dolby Digital 5.1) or are the surround speakers disabled and only in use with DD 5.1 sources?I would imagine that when playing music the surrounds are just used as additional speakers?I am new to the concept of surround sound so I would appreciate some advice!Cheers 🍻   

Hi all, I am currently looking at sonos as a solution for my audio sound, just want to make sure it can do what I want it to do before I purchase. Forgive me if this is naïve question. Can I have my turntable (with built in amp) connected to 2 Five’s, so I can listen in stereo in one room and then have a third speaker (possible another Five) in another room and have the music from the turntable play at the same time? So in stereo in one room and from one speaker in another room? Thanks!

Hi,i want to setup:2 speakers in dining room2 speakers in living room 1 2 speakers in living room 22 speakers in kitchen 2 outdoor speakers.  How many amps do I need? can I play the same music on all the speakers even if there are multiple amps? if 2 speakers from living room 1 and 2 speakers from living room 2 are connected to the same amp, can I have 2 different zones? So I could play the same music in both living rooms AND play the same music in living room 1 and turn the speakers in living room 2 off - is that makes sense?thanks  

Hi all, my first post before buying a Sub. I was just wondering what happens to midrange when adding in a Sub. Will the Beam handle it differently than it does on its own or would it be best to add in a third Sonos unit? Or, and I suspect will be the answer, does the Sub and Beam share the responsibilty perfectly well?Thanks Martin S

Is it possible to run the Sonos amp with a pair of One SL’s as the mains? I have a setup where I have existing power close to both speaker locations but won’t be able to run speaker wire due to existing construction. The reason I’m looking at the amp instead of the port is that I want to get a turntable and HDMI ARC into the system. Sorry if this has been asked before but I’ve searched the forums for a while and couldn't find anything.

I am trying to find a music system which will work in my little flat. I’ve been using Logitech Boom speakers but connecting them is clunky via the app and also unreliable; also I want to be able to play the radio without connecting my device.This is what I want to do:play my own music (not streamed music) from my phone or tablet listen to the radio (BBC) listen to BBC Sounds listen to podcasts (via Google or Spotify or suchlike)I’d like to do all the above in multiple rooms. I’m always scuttling from one to the next so would like the same sound playing on different speakers in different rooms. I’ve got a few Alexa devices but they won’t let me play my own music apart from via Bluetooth. I’m looking at Sonos One and Symfonisk speakers. Research suggests that I can play my own music (from my phone or tablet) and BBC radio via the sonos app. Is this correct? Can I play Spotify podcasts or Google podcasts (a thread from a couple of years ago suggests not)? I have an Android phone and table

I have a really nice new 65” LG OLED and I want to add some nice surround speakers to.  I do not have the option to run wires so I decided to add to my Sonos collection and pick up a Beam 2.  I likely would have bought an Arc if they were available right now.  My question is this...should I order an Arc or should I just add two 1 SL’s to the back of my room to compliment the Beam 2 in the front of the room?  I will use this setup for music sometimes but primary for watching movies.

I have two Western Digital My Book Live NAS units installed similarly in two locations. As of several months ago, I am no longer able to index the library for both. The error message: “The [drive name] is no longer available.” On one, I deleted the music library hoping I could add it back in, and am unable to do so, displaying the same error message.  On the other, I am able to run my FLAC files with no problem, but cannot index. Sonos tech support has not been able to resolve - they are still working on it. The firmware has not changed for the NAS since 2015. I’m running S2 at both locations. Because of this situation, I am looking for current year 2022 recommendations for replacement NAS units in case I have to do so.

I am building out a home network and Sonos solution at the same time. I am planning on having a couple of amps wired via ethernet in a closet, but I also want to add one by our pool area. The SonosNet wifi definitely won’t reach there, but our home internet will, which would mean I’d need to go with a wireless setup, right? If that’s the case, will ethernet work on the ones inside the closet despite being in a wireless setup?

My Arc has been on back order.  The expected ship date was 1/21/22, but I’ve heard nothing.   Just keep waiting?  

Hi all,I was looking at purchasing my first Sonos product with the view of progressing to a home cinema system and multiple speakers throughout my house. I’m probably looking at around £1000 to get started, so wondered what the best option would be. I currently own a Panasonic 49 inch tv which is wall mounted. My sitting room, is 4.60mx 3.60m so relatively small. I was looking at either the Beam + 2x OneSL or just the Arc? I could maybe stretch to the Beam + Sub at a push. I had just wondered if anyone had any recommendations as a startup?  Thanks all.

Hi I m thinking of purchasing the Move for my dance classes I run in a hall venue. I currently use a JBL Flip 5 but the volume output does not fill the space now is it loud enough. Would the Move work well for this application?

I have an old HK receiver I used for a  theater back in the day. Converted the entire house to Sonos now. I wanted to to set it up in garage and connect the port to it,to run some additional outdoor speakers in the backyard around the pool. I have the Sonos amp connected to my ceiling speakers outside which produce great sound but the back of the yard  not so much. I would prefer buying the port vs another amp to save some dollars. Looking for some suggestions if I should try and use the port or make it simple and just by another Sonos amp. I know the newer receivers have more options for the Port but this is just for 2- 6” landscape speakers so buying a new amp or receiver seems like overkill. Any suggestions welcomed.. 

I have 2 Play Ones (older, non smart) and a Playbar in our living room. We also have a Move on the patio. I would love to add a turntable to our lives and get back to purchasing records but I am very unsure on how to go about this. It seems like it’s more complicated than I had hoped.Does anyone have a relatively simple solution?Thanks.

Hi I am interested in buying sonos for the first time and want to be able to play vinyl on a vintage turntable we inherited (1970s Pioneer PL-50).  We also have a Pioneer SX-9000 receiver, but we got rid of the speakers because we don’t want the bulk.  We would like to figure out whether we can connect this turntable to a sonos system, if so do we need to keep the receiver or buy a pre-amp, and then which Sonos component should we buy?Do I need the receiver? It is very complicated, with jacks that are marked “ Pre out and mixing rec.” “Main in” a toggle that says “Pre & Main  Separated Intercoupled” “Phono Mag 1, Mag 2, Aux 1” etc.  Seems like it would be easy to mess up and has much more capacity than I need Can a modern preamp connect to my vintage turntable? Given I have no speakers which sonos speaker should I get? The Five?Thank you!Kathy
